>>97869769>How big is your pile of shame?Don't ask questions you don't want the answer to
How would you make GSC more interesting in lore and Gameplay?
>>97869769>TQ Too big. Most of my collecting of miniatures/bits was for a hypothetical time when I would be in a happier situation.A situation that never came. I did enjoy painting what little I did. >And Primaris Space Marine GeneralThe best thing that came out of the primaris vs. firstborn stuff for guard players at least was pointing out the marine height autism whenever marinefags pointed out any guard autism.
>>97869882Give GSC more actual alien units.Like make a very big Totally-Not-Carnifex type genestealer that's more heavily armored.Kinda like all of those genestealer variants in the Deathwing video game.
I like orks :D
>>97869906based and very cool
So are the new terrain rules going to make knights more sufferable or insufferable?
>>97869769>Land Raidah EditionCurrently assembling my first one
>>97869882More Malstrain Genestealer stuff would be cool. I know it'll never happen but a malstrain hivefleet would be cool.
Man I wish the vehicles in 40k could try and look cool. The imperium as a whole looks fucking childish and ugly, eldar are nearly there, tau on the other hand are just embarrassing, and then there is the kino that is orks. Still, 40k has failed as a sci fi setting.
Made a lot of progress on my terrain. just gotta slop on a wash, highlight, and fix any messes. >>97869769>TQ FOMO and seeing good seconhand deals has led me to having a shit ton of models over the years despite the fact I’ve only been actively painting recently. probably around 4000 points last time I estimated the size.
>>97869936Dreadnoughts and imperial knights are definitely a vibe that appeals to some people. Not me personally but I can understand that people like them a lot and wouldn't want them to change.

Got a necromunda juve to paint for my gang as well
>>97869769>How big is your pile of shame?Over 2000 Models
>>97869769>TQ1 New Archon1 Pain Engine (undecided build)I haven't bought new models in a long time and I already painted my Malys.
>>97869769>TQ>four penitent engines>a box of skitarii>ork rocker>an inquisitor>~25 random metal minisIt's actually really small
>>97869964lmao is this guy a femboy dwarf or something? What is this faggot filter.
>>97869769>LR edition>TQ isn't "What is your favourite Land Raider pattern?"
>>97869769>How big is your pile of shame?A lot. It's mainly huge discount boxes so I justify it in my mind as soon or later GW is going to price me out of the hobby, and at that point I will still have enough stuff to last for a bunch of time, and being huge boxes I can always resell them at a minimum loss or in some cases at value.
>>97869914Genestealer variants!>>97869769>pile~320 unfinished minis, 90 of these not assembled (or partially). Most are partially painted. For some I only need to finish the base or do small details.

I don't give a shit if you got in the Dawn of War IV alpha.
>>97869992>put in specific genestealer faction>remove ymgarlsWhat were they thinking?
>>97869996Far more interested in Total War.AdMech as a starter faction feels like a joke.
Cracking shop
>>97869769>TQNot that big surprisingly, getting real close to done. I just keep running into the issue of that I HATE CLEANING FUCKING MOLD LINES.
>>97870018sovl
>>97870021Just paint over them nobody cares.
>>97870018That looks greak honestlyMirfield Miniatures is great if you ever get a chance to visit though I was just looking and they moved venues?
>tq2 boxes of realspace raider -1 archon1 box of hearthguard1 zeratul>painting onlya warpsmith2 hekatons, turns out i hate painting vehicles
>>97869934>first oneI'm already 4 deep and thinking of swapping one for two more.
I'm thinking about getting Lhykhis but doing some light conversions to make her slightly more feminine and remove the lighting effect as I frankly think it takes away from the model. How hard do you think it would be to remove?
>>97870036I have seen them, and yeah seems a nice idea of selling stuff at reasonable prices. Not actually been but there's some rules about paying members getting first dibs or somesuch.I have enough stuff at this point. But then I stumble across ridiculous bargains.
>>97870018I'm going to the Caliphate of England soon. Are there any cool shops around that have retro pewter stuff?
>>97870050Whereabouts roughly bruv
>>97870047>but doing some light conversions to make her slightly more feminineNo, you can't add tits to the models.
>>97870056London, unfortunately.
Almost done with my superior
>>97870015I have zero faith in CA.The DoW IV devs are new and Iron Harvest was mid but I still like everything they've shown
>>97870057Not with that attitude.
>>97870073Did you sculpt that? I need to tard wrangle Blender to modify and possibly even make 40k related STLs, but I think my IQ is too small. Are Imperial Guard proxies really the "safest" proxies one can make in avoiding the legal wrath of GW's lawyers?
>>97870063My condolences. Not aware of much in the way of "Aladdin's cave" type shops down there. Dark Sphere is meant to be good, Orc's Nest is historic but mostly RPG/boardgame stuff you can buy anywhere now.It is Salute this weekend the largest wargaming show.
>>97870049The members get first dibs on rare shit or forge world stuff because he had an issue with scalpers but it's literally £1 a month to be in the group so I dont know how that keeps any scalpers out. Everything else is either up on his facebook for sale or at the shop on a saturday.Because of some weird rules he's not allowed to be a primary seller of second hand GW stuff and also sell new GW products so he has "completely separate business" that also happens to use the same building that sells those.Gave me a laugh
>>97870076I found a base model and added some modifications. You don't need to be a wizard at blender to add conversions. You can find an absolute metric ton of guard out there, as for avoiding GW lawyers, that's only a issue if you plan on selling, or you are showing up with a full army printed to a GW store. I've played with my converted models often and had no issue.
>>97870102>I found a base model and added some modifications.Baby steps man and soon you'll be making great proxies and maybe making some chump change selling the STLs. Hopefully you icarus your way into getting the GW hammer thrown at you so you can BTFO GW in the courtroom like ChapterHouse did and then come out victorious and thrive unlike ChapterHouse did on the thrive part. >You don't need to be a wizard at blender to add conversions. I mean that might be true to the average person but spending a lot of hours trying to properly angle a chainsword "blade" to the hilt where a regular sword blade was on a dynamically posed miniature STL made me feel really stupid. Always felt the angle was off until I think I got it right.Blender may be awful compared to the paid for options but it not only punches above it's price point of being free but is probably very underestimated. Which is why I keep reinstalling it for the intent modifying guard proxy STLs.
>>97869815Base the shoulders, face, upper torso, and limb "casings" a nonmetallic color, and paint the spine, pelvis, joints, and the "uncased" parts of the arms and legs a metallic color. Picrel is two paint schemes I was trying out before deciding on the one I'm currently painting (which is just the one on the right but with dark gold metallic details)
>At some point that heretic must appear at the window.
Terrain talkhttps://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/lxzwueun/new40k-terrain-objectives-make-the-battlefield-your-mission/
>>97870119the idiot just ruined his equipment
>>97869973A woman took the picture and used the filter, this is just a cropped version that doesn't include her in it
>>97870124I'm glad to see IH acknowledged but damn their paint scheme is boring.
>>97870124its fucking nothing
>>97870124>Hitting monsters and vehicles in cover on 4's and 5'sThis is going to be awful
>>97870119I like these sorts of art pieces. Like this guardsman offering a smoke to the marine, treating him like a fellow comrade in arms. Feels "human" for lack of a better term.
>>97870173why are those black templars using lots of guns
>>97870124isn't this how it currently works?
>>97870184Considering Vehicles likely aren't seeing a Toughness reduction, yeah this already fucking sucks.Lethal Hits spam is going to be the only way to reliably get rid of some stuff now.
>>97870124I'm just glad it isn't the Unique Footprint Warhammer Objective Pack for $70 plus tip
>>97870124Just play 4th at this pointOr the stupid crap that is Prohammer if you really want to play some random codex from 7th
>>97870251But the new terrain rules are pretty much like 4th's.
>>97870173nice raven guard bro!
>>97870215I never thought about it, but its kind weird that iron hands prefer to use guns rather than get stuck in with melee. you’d think the guys with massive cyborg arms would like to show off that fact by ripping a warboss in half with their bare iron hands.
I just cleaned off a squad of 35 year old nobz and I can feel the lead coursing through my veins.
>>97870260>as 4th>TIL 4th had fixed layouts for tournament play
>>97870278Competitive terrain layouts != terrain rules. Besides, tournaments back then were famous bowling ball planet. Having optional pre-defined terrain layouts can't be a bad thing.
>>97870245They are selling that though.
>>97870063>>97870050I've been watching stuff on youtube about the UK. Everything outside of the big cities seems much more interesting, scenic, and distinctly British. It would be nice to see Scotland, have some local milk and pies and then pet some sheep. Maybe get a nice wool blanket and some sweaters in case I fuck one of them up. A cap too idk. Also can't stand the london accent, it's worse than atlanta or baltimore. I'm not trying to get stabbed by some 20 year old in a puffer jacket either.>>97870173the white guns look cool at least. They're much more interesting in HH where they look like admech and SM had a baby. Very dieselpunk if I'm using that word correctly.
>>97870283>tournament play>wargameAh we can stop here.
>>97870295There's been wargaming tournaments for longer than you've been alive.
Is visiting warhammer world worth it? Does it live up to the hype?
>>97870302If you're in the area? Sure.
>>97870300You can use a sport car to move cargo around. It does not mean it is a good idea or that other vehicles like a truck are better options.
Imperial Fist primaris intercessors
>>97870302I'm not the biggest nuGW fan, but even for me it's a good way to spend an afternoon, the exhibition is good.Depends on your situation, do you live 3 hours away, or are you in the UK for a holiday? That sort of thing. I mean there's plenty of GW geek types that *do* use a whole day of their holiday getting the train to Nottingham and back who seem to enjoy the pilgrimage.
>>97870308Sure. How does that relate to a wargame having OPTIONAL terrain layouts to use in tournaments? This shit has always existes. Back then circuits just made their own packs with missions and layouts. Now they still do and GW offers their own on top. I fail to see how this is a bad thing.
I'm thinking of painting an Imperial fist for fun with black trim instead of red.Does anyone per chance paint IF? I know they aren't popular but I like the look of yellow on black. Most guides tell you to use a pink undercoat or the IF yellow contrast paint but pic rel has a really neat ochre undertone. For painting the pants on marine scouts would a warm earthy brown (think steel legion drab), olive drab green, khaki, or grey-blue work best?desu I'm still looking for inspo through pics or artwork
>still no mention of point costs
>>97870347If you looking for wargear cost. Give up.
>>97870173Is the showing off of bionics done for the same reason going into battle without a helmet for space marines?
>>97870349They did say it would be back in a "limited fashion".
>>97870357Where you even hear that?
>>97870361A video they posted last year when Cruddace left GW and a new guy took charge.
>>97870357nigga that's some enhancements getting the upgrade tag for you to put them on non-characters
>>97870370So it's not gonna return then. Got it.
>>97870371That's not even what they mentioned in the video. They explicitely talked about weapons. Sounded like they were still gonna force every unit to take upgrades but at least those upgrades would cost different. So a SoB squad would have a flamer and heavy bolter as a base and could oay extra points to upgrade them to meltas. But no option to just have cheap bolters.
Models
>>97870245uhh
>>97870387o he handsome
>>97870302It's fun and they sell a few kits there that are exclusive
>>97870322Because the current 40k playerbase is the battered wife of competitive players, so once GW release anything for optional use in tournaments you can bet your ass that 99% of the games around are going to use that. The only way to avoid it is to have a very close group of friends without waacfags, but a lot of people are not lucky enough to have that.
