Once upon a time there was a Lvl1 Thiefling Bard who wanted to beat a Lvl99 Dwarf Chud in the tavern. The Thiefling went up to the Dwarf and said "I challenge you to a drinking contest!"

The Dwarf laughed. "I'm Lvl99, you're Lvl1, I'll beat you in a second. Let's drink!"

First drink, they drink. The Thiefling is already getting drunk! The Dwarf laughs.

Second drink, the Thiefling slips something into the Dwarf's drink. Both drink, the dwarf laughs. "That's cyanide, no problem, Dwarfs have Poison Immunity 100%!"

Third drink, the Thiefling slips something into both drinks. Both drink, the Thiefling is fine, the dwarf screams and cries. "Ow, my entire forge is on my mouth! I give up!"

Everyone in the tavern yells for the Thiefling. They ask how he did it. The Thiefling says: "Simply, Thieflings have Fire Immunity 100%, Dwarfs don't. I put a red hot jalapeno in each drink. Dwarfs never heard of pepper before! It's from the New World."

Moral of the story: use trickery, take advantage of what you've got!

The Princess Bride did it better. Loser.

Moral is right, story is stupid, mechanics dont work that way

The moral is also stupid. Trying to poison and kill your opponent in a contest is more likely to end up with you disqualified at best. Using trickery relies on you being in a position where you don't care if people think of you as a liar or a cheat.
