I've tried out B-17 Queen of the Skies and the Lancaster expansion for it on Vassal and had good fun. Recently finished a Nightfighter Ace campaign by dying, and now I'm stuck with a dilemma. Someone kindly uploaded on the Vassal module site a copy of Target for Tonight, but they didn't include the charts. Does anyone know where I could find the charts, ideally packed in the vassal or a similar system? If someone lacks the vassal system variant with the charts or a separate chart sheet, what do y'all recommend for solo, war themed tabletops?Cheers.
>what do y'all recommend for solo, war themed tabletops?I have no clue for vassal. I enjoy The Hunters and The Hunted from GMT. First is Uboat 39-43, second is Uboat 39-45. You can conbine them to a long campaign game. It plays like B-17 except you actually have decisions to make as the captain.
>>97909728Appreciated. Are there any allied equivalents?
>>97910208There is Silent Victory made by the same guy. US subs in the Pacific. Never played it tho. When I talk about having choices.>encounter a convoy during daytime. do you attack now but it has to be submerged so less accurate, or follow the convoy for a surface night attack. But you can lose the convoy by following>do you shoot at close range for better accuracy but a escort will latch on you. medium range, less accurate but less chance for escort latch. long range bad accuracy but least chance of escort encounter>do you shoot your rear tube? added chance for sink but a escort is almost guaranteed to latch onto you>do you shoot multiple torps at a single ship to raise the chance of sink or spread to more ships in hope of more sinks>if you get certain damage do you return to port or yolo and continue the patrolEtc, alot more actual decisions than B-17. I once rolled the "go to the Med via Gibraltar" mission and had my own Das Boot experience, barely had any boat left limping back to France.
