I need ideas.I have posted a thread on /tg/ and this makes me entitled to your ideas, without offering any of my own, any thoughts, or doing any research.Because I have posted a thread on /tg/ expressing my need for ideas, you must give them to me, and I don't need to give anything in return; not even so much as a "thank you".Give me ideas now, because mindless parasitism is better than discussion. In your setting.
I don't even need to mention a game to get your ideas, I just need to make a thread begging for the spoon.
>>97914206This anon would have a heart attack if he ever visited the gurps forum>hey I need ideas on weapons for my mercenary company for a 90s game set in south africa>dude then gets a detailed breakdown on the kind of weaponry PMCs used during conflicts from various posters
a cyberpunk rpg set in future arabia. focus on diplomacy, strategy, and preparation more than tactics in combat. the outcome of combat depends much more on how well you prepare, who you ally with, and timing your attack than your skill in combat. you rely on ambushes or hit jobs to take down targets. the city is a cramped and chaotic labyrinth of narrow streets and alleyways and traversable rooftops and isolated courtyards. you either have to conceal your involvement in any attack or acquire permission from the relevant parties beforehand to avoid retaliation. money is everything and to make it you have to position yourself carefully in the social web of the city which ranges from street gangs to corporations and government. if you manage to get into the right place at the right time and manipulate the situation carefully you might just be able to create a scenario where you can survive long enough to make a name for yourself.it would be fun to play but a nightmare to gm. i just made this up off the top of my head but it's good enough for somebody offering nothing in return.
>>97914294Of course he would, kek
what are you even making fun of, zoomer? 'ideas guy' was a joke term because someone ONLY had ideas: they didn't go away and actually make a book or a movie or some shit.you are genuinely, sincerely, unironically entitled to no-cost words on the internet. you're on a message board, we're all here to discuss things. the most someone could ask for is to be credited.
>>97914367anon, we have I think more than one poster here that pride themselves in being useless
>>97914294GURPS really is the War Thunder of the tabletop sphere.
>>97914206Ahem...Stirge Wights.That is all.
>>97914367>people know things and have ideas because of their experiences, that COST them time/money/effort in any combination>knowledge and ideas also come from research, which COSTS time/money/effort in any combination>formulating thoughts based on those ideas and knowledge in a clear and coherent manner COSTS time and effort to some degree>parasitic faggot who doesn't know what he asks didn't SPEND any time/money/effort to get ideas and knowledge based the experiences/research of others who SPENT time/money/effort>"nO cOsT wOrDs On ThE iNtErNeT lol"
>>97914367Nta>entitled to no-cost words on the internetNo. You're not entitled to jack shit. There's a reasonable expectation for words and ideas without cost on a free anonymous forum on the internet. That's not the same thing as being entitled to something.I don't disagree with the core concept of your post though.>what are you even making fun of, zoomer?Whether or not he realizes it, I believe the inherent humor behind OP's attempt at a thread is actually the constant attempt at monetization of ideas and discussion.I've literally had a joke I made here get repackaged and posted elsewhere for views. And any entertaining rpg story posted may get scavenged and used for content elsewhere. Combined with the zoomer mentality of "Why should my employer benefit from my labor?", it's degenerated to the point where even asking the community for ideas is being reduced to demanding payment. It's absurd. Ha. Ha.
>>97916223You do realize that your asinine appeals to time and effort fall apart when you waste your time shitposting, right? And if you don't want to talk about games, why come here?
>>97916617>I've literally had a joke I made here get repackaged and posted elsewhere for views. And any entertaining rpg story posted may get scavenged and used for content elsewhere.Examples please.
>>97914303That's just The Nights of the Budayeen trilogy, there is a Cyberpunk2020 Module that If I remmeber corretly is called like Cyberpunk 2200 because is set in 2200 in north africa.>>97914206Well depends I'm reworking my battles since my players said they were too easy, now I copy how a friend of mine who's a Paid GM for power players and his philosophy:>Every mob/NPCs attacks to save his own life like the PCs, so if they have objects like potions and scroll they'll use it, if they have powerful spells they'll use it.>If you have an entire Mob or group of NPCs in the fight they fight with tactics and stand united, don't see every NPCs/mob as a single unit who want to do a single thing.>try to spice up the fight by making the enviorement to fight for you.I used to make these kind of fights but when I was Eternal GM on Pathfinder 1E and DnD 3.5 then when my old friend group decided to split (we still play but once a year for anniversary but we keep in touch for campaign or even talk over a beer) I had to get a new group and mostly the new huys were the classic 5E kids, so i had to learn and by the time I admit I became more soft in my style.Tonight I prepared a "Gas chamber Fight", the PCs will fight a bandit group who set us up trap rooms and fight with "magical gas masks" so the players will fight a mob with dissavantage and with the status effect Poisoned.
>>97917068Of stories, I didn't keep track. But I've seen it a number of times.Pic related was my joke.I mean, it was instantly taken and used for upvotes, nobody cares, and it doesn't matter. But it happens.
>>97914367He's upset because he keeps spamming "what worldbuilding setting game?" in every single thread expecting it to be well-received, but instead he just gets called a wannabe janny faggot every time.
>>97914206If you don't naturally have more ideas than you can use you're not cut out to be a GM. Sorry.
>>97916877>And if you don't want to talk about games, why come here? Why don't you ask that to all the other faggots here who don't want to talk about games?>the off-topic /a/, /co/, /his/, /lgbt/, /lit/, /tv/, and /v/ discussions with nothing to do with playing or even making games>the barely tangential "in ur settan" spam with r/ImaginaryBullshit ArtStation puckee slop>the denigration that ensues when you try to talk homebrew>the lore secondaries who have no models and never talk strategiesYou won't admit you have inconsistent standards, you'll just say some other dismissive bullshit, because you're a fucking retard.
>>97914206What the fuck is going on in this thread nigga can't you people talk about stuff coming up in your next session or something fun like thatI'll start: In mine my players are (probably) going to continue unraveling the secrets of some half-drow lady they met who lives in the ghetto of the city they're in. She works with a cult of halfllings to aid in her crimes and avoid persecution - although it's more often the case that the halflings are regarded as "disposable" in these cases and usually end up suffering consequences for her. They're willing to put up with this because generally, her goals align with the cult's, and her awareness of the cult's nature means she can at any time rat them out to the guards and get probably every halfling in the city hanged. I have a bunch of other stuff prepared because it's a sandbox, but that's one of the highlights IMO. The half-elf PC introduced herself to the half-drow and wants to make a friend of her, so I'll see how that goes.
