ITT: Characters you think would suck to have in a D&D party.
>>
>>97914634
Which edition? Suck in what kind of way? Like being annoying in terms of how they constrain the party's choices like Paladins? Too mechanically weak like Monks? Too mechanically strong like Clerics? Just generally known for attracting a certain kind of player like Artificers?
>>
>>97915039
Characters from media you wouldn't want in your D&D party.
>>
>>97915059
So, answer the question, anon. Tell us what you are actually asking. Are you asking us to just provide you a list of characters we find personally annoying? Characters who would make for bad players? Characters who would make for bad characters? In what way? Are we supposed to assume they're transported from their home media into some specific setting that WotC has made? Which setting?

And why is this a valid /tg/ thread? What's this have to do with tabletop games? Other than just casually and obliquely mentioning D&D? How could it possibly matter whether Harry Potter or Obi-wan Kenobi would be bad player characters or something? They're fictional characters in some other form of media. They are not our player characters and never will be. So none of this could possibly ever occur.
You're asking a hypothetical with no potential real world application or relevance. Get this shit out of here.

This post kinda cringe, senpai

Any character would suck to have in a D&D party because D&D sucks.
>>
>>97915039
Why would the question have to specify any of these things? Are you so totally unable to think for yourself that you need precisely defined paramaters for a basic fucking question about your own opinion?
>>
>>97914634
>D&D
If you're talking 5e, it's gonna suck no matter who is in the party, because it's DnD 5e.
>>
>>97914634
as dnd is a cooperative game and not really about story structure or character evolution, it is generally annoying playing with the “selfish rogue” trope. The heart of gold that comes out at the end of the story isn’t satisfying if you’ve had to deal with the asshole part of the character journey for months or even years. Basically if you want Han Solo’s character arc from the original Star Wars for your own character, you’re actually being annoying. What works in movies or literature doesn’t work for playing a game. Other players don’t want to deal with you on step 1. What tends to happen is you never get to the end of the campaign so everyone just has to put up with your antics.

Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness.
While they're great characters in their own stories, in a campaign, they'd be the result of someone making joke characters.

The point was to point out that an blank, open hypothetical has no purpose and no meaning. Try exercising your reading comprehension skills a little bit, anon. That's some middle school literary analysis homework and you just announced your failure so loudly.

Wow look at that. An answer to the thread topic! You're a character that would suck to have in a party.

It's a shit thread from a nogames retard.
He didn't say "don't post" he said OP is stupid and asked for more info.

>Megumin: makes retarded meme build, refuses to change it when it doesn't work
>Aqua: does not know the rules and refuses to learn, seems to have a brainstem instinct to make delicate situations worse
>Darkness: hellishly bad dice luck, blatant rape fetish, constantly trying to get sexually assaulted by monsters, bandits, whatever

Sounds pretty bad.

Any character that's transparently there as a vehicle for a kink of the player's.

That's kinda the point of the whole show.

Any character would suck to have in a D&D party because all editions of D&D suck.

>ITT: Characters you think would suck to have in a D&D party.
AD&D Thief-Acrobat. Taking the most pitiful class and someone making it even worse. It wouldn't be nearly as bad if we're talking about Splat Book #42 and Class #191. No, these were his 3 or 4 best new classes after the original PH classics. For all the good work Gary did, those UA classes (Acrobat, Cavalier, Barbarian) show how deep he was into the coke. He's one of the those authors/bands with one amazing book/album in a spurt of inspiration only to never come remotely close again.
>>
>>97916709

They were born out of a DND campaign IIRC.
>>
>>97915059
>Characters from media you wouldn't want in your D&D party.
Most of them, really. Feels like there's a (recent?) trend across all mainstream media of making every character either unlikeable asshole, or incompetent liability. Sometimes both.
>>
>>97914634
Expanding on the remit of this thread;
Worst D&D Party:
Thief: Beni Gabor from "The Mummy"
Wiz(z)ard: Rincewind of "The Colour of Magic"
Monk: Wimp-Lo of "Kung-Pow: Enter The Fist"
Cleric: Father Dougal Macguire from "Father Ted"
Fighter: Ephialtes of Trachis The deformed cripple from 300

There you go, I have now constructed an entire party that is collectively incapable of doing anything.

That's the tranny who is extremely mentally ill and has literally two or three stock responses to virtually everything. I don't even know what he's FOR (other than tranny perversion, of course) since he explodes in violent fantasies to almost every topic.
>>
>>97914634
Characters that want to go their own way and do not cooperate or coordinate with the other players during missions.
>>
>>97924110
You can't make Megumin in D&D, by the time you get big girl spells like Fireball, you have both slots and knowledge for minor fire spells.

Is that the critical roll cast? Why are they all so ugly? Isn't it supposed to be a tv show or something? This is the first time I've ever actually seen them and I'm kind of confused about how Hasbro couldn't find anyone worth looking at to read their scripts.

FYI, this isn't something real men complain about
