I want my own d&d thread. I don't know why but I think a superhero fantasy have could have potential. The player-characters are already larger than life Greek heroes.

Which edition?
>>
>>97926606
There's a reason 4e died in infamy
>>
>>97926709
yeah, terminal illiterates realizing that particular edition doesn't even partially work when they don't read it

All of if them. I've ran and played them all extensively.
>>

I am so sorry.

>I want my own d&d thread.
Wish granted. Now what?
Uncertain of how you distinguish superhero fantasy from dnd fantasy, its been increasingly similar in terms of power scope since at least 3rd ed.
Mutants and Masterminds was just that.

5e doesn't work until the DM adds and rewrites a bunch of shit, yet plenty of people sing its praises.

>The player-characters are already larger than life Greek heroes.
Is that so?
Last time I checked, even a 20 STR character is still weaker than the strongest men in our world.
>>
>>97927077
It's ok. I don't regret (much) of it.

I've never played M&M! I need to get on that.
>>
D&D is enough of a power-wank without making it Marvel-tier.
If you want that, you should play Exalted.
>>
>>97929303
Yeah, I should. I always hear good things about exhalted. I just wanted to get a convo going that wasn't tied to any edition of d&d.
>>
>>97926750
it's because 4e is shit
>>
>>97931492
Nah. 4e had a tight ruleset and you guys aren't used to anything that isn't pure 70s game design slop.
>>
4e died because of pure mismanagement more than the rules. How good or bad the rules are was a distant second to the PR clusterfuck that was 4e
>>
>>97927982
I personally didn't care for it too much. Stun-locking was something I never really managed to find a good solution to.
>>
>>97929340
Exalted's unironically gay, and the rules are absolute dogshit. There's faggots who talk shit about 4e but keep Exalted out of their mouths? Boundless ignorance.

Exalted's so shit at its own concept that 1e's FAQ had a question that amounted to "my super powered swordswoman can't kill anyone and keeps getting ganked by people she should be able to kill by the hundreds! What gives?"
>>
>>97931759
Yeah it was super tight, tossed that shit in the bin where it belongs.
>>
>>97932711
You missed an incredible game.
>>
>>97933083
lol
>>
>>97926606
>The player-characters are already larger than life Greek heroes.
>get beat up by local lords
>can't influence nations or wars at all
>limited to merely human physical abilities
Yeah, right.
>>
>>97935568
It absolutely doesn't have to be that way tho.
