>be unable to do any ttrpg related stuff for a few months
>now that i have free time, i realize that i have no real desire to get back into tabletop roleplaying and the process of doing so seems like a colossal hassle.
Apathy will set you free, anons

I feel you OP. I have 3 groups but I feel like if I lost those I wouldn't actually get back into the game. I still have a constant yearning to play, but coming up with a new setting idea every week is a phase that's long past. Wagecucking absolutely killed it. Even as a NEET again I don't have that same genuine inspiration pouring out of me anymore. That's why I buy miniatures for my games , to cope with the fact that the minds eye is not enough for me anymore. They're like Viagra for the imagination. I don't know what to do about it. I don't know if this is just a natural part of entering your 30s, or if I did this.

You get all your creativity back the moment you stop wasting time on your phone or on 4chan by the way

It's a high investment activist, that also demands much of other people's time.
If it's not -the thing you want to do- then there's often very little time for it in this day to day.
It was trendy for a while.
But well, some of us were here before, and are still here.

I've wanted to get into ttrpgs for years, but I have no friends and I am not good at roleplaying either.

When I feel like that I play something wildly different, often times rules light. This weekend me and my friends reunited after a while without playing, and tried my own homebrew stuff. You'd be amazed at what some poorly made random tables can do, my players were being chased out of restaurants and shooting chinese immortals as if it all made sense, just because a piece of paper and a die roll said so.

Buying minis moves the creativity out of imagining the characters and into imagining the mechanics for me. I often find myself looking at my collection and thinking "what kind of ruleset would enable these dudes to act this or that way".

I'm the same, and my third-world shithole is brown normie central so I have nowhere to go really.
I tried some solo sessions using Mythic + 5e or Shadowdark and it worked pretty well
Getting into Castles & Crusades now because 5e is gay and jewish

Part of it's inertia, I think. Once you start actually playing, you'll find yourself getting more and more into it and find it easier.

The thing is, I have. I've gone on hikes and bike rides for hours with nothing to entertain me but I my own thoughts. My mind does not take in inspiration and transform it into ideas the way it used to. I don't know what to do.

How are you finding Mythic? I wanted to give it a try with WFRP 2e and DCC because I've no one to play with but it seems quite crunchy

>How are you finding Mythic
Cool and straightforward system after you get the hang of it.
2nd edition is the way to go
