Do any of you most esteemed gentlemen have good recipe for lembas, that I could bring for my game on sunday?

I could probably just steal my mum's gingerbread recipe and call it a day, but I was wondering if someone perhaps have tried recipe already.

I am open to other thematic ideas, if you happen to have any. (Bonus points for lactose free stuff, one player can't stomach it.)

You could bring trail rations too

Boring, but also an option I've considered.

Matzoh with plenty of butter.

What is lembas?
>The most calorie-dense travel ration possible.
What is the most caloire-dense edible substance?
>Pure fat.
>Second best (vegan-friendly) pure ethanol.

Hardtack is lembas for straight people.

Mix 2 cups of flour with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 3/4 cup of water.

Kneed till elastic and smooth and roll until about 1/2 inch thick. Cut into circles or rectangles and place on a baking tray. Poke several holes in the pieces to allow steam to escape. Bake at 375F for about 30mins to an hour each side. You want them golden and hard.

Cool on a rack and store in a tupperware in your cupboard - will last around a year maybe more.

I would soak these in soup or something for about 10mins before trying to eat them.

For Pemmican which is meat lembas:

1lb of dried meat (use your oven if you don't have a dehydrator (150f for like 15hrs) or buy some.

Use a food processor to make into a powder.

Use the same food processor to powderise some dried berries (1 cup should be fine)

Take about a cup (1/4lb) of fat and render it -sieve through a cheese cloth to get rid of solids.

Mix the powdered meat and berries in a metal bowl and then slowly pour the rendered fat into the bowl stirring until you get a crumbly cohesive blob. If you want you can add some salt or dried spices here - about half a teaspoon of gochugaru is pretty good here.

Form the pemmican into bars or balls and wrap in wax paper before storing somewhere cool and dry.

You can eat this raw or fry it - but it tastes better as a base for a soup or stew.

Thank you, I really appreciate the effort, but I want to some tasty snack for my friends to nibble on during game - not survivalist rations for walking barefoot through Siberia.

Use the hardtack recipe and add some butter, milk and baking powder.

Brush on honey after six minutes in the oven, then cook for six more mins before taking them out brushing on some more honey before allowing them to cool.

I have a shit tonne of medieval recipes for meals and snacks.

Easy one that actually makes a decent gift is potted cheese - it's good as a sort of spread on toast or as the base for a welsh rabbit:

Get 10oz of decent quality hard cheese (actual aged cheddar (not american cheddar) or aged gouda are good options). 5oz of butter, a tablespoon of ale (drink the rest) and a tablespoon of good mustard (dijon or english).

Blend the cheese, ale, 3.5oz of butter and mustard in a food processor (I've done this the traditional way, use the food processor). Pack this mixture into a sterilised jar, ramekin or ceramic pot, leave no air bubbles.

Take the remaining butter and melt in a pan on low heat. Leave to cool to allow the milk solids to separate from the fat. Pour the clear fat over the cheese and cool for a few hours in your fridge. Either use or dispose of the left over milk solids.

Once cooked the fat seal on the potted cheese lasts about three months and once cracked the cheese needs to be eaten in about a week.

OP, fag that he is, is looking to be like a froufrou elf boy faggot instead of an Ork, Dwarf, or Slav. Either way though it's a good excuse to post old-ish /tg/ cuisine.
