The materials and tone match those of national parks services, and as for people dying, there are plenty of real parks where people routinely die, like Florida’s Eagle’s Nest park featuring a sinkhole and underwater cave system (of the famous “stop! Or the way tourists and hikers get lost in the Everglades or Death Valley or the arctic tundra. Mystery Flesh Pit works because it’s believable.
