So I've been reading a bunch of litRPG lately, mostly shit that dribbled off Royal Road and similar sites. The best is Dungeon Crawler Carl by a long shot, but that's not why I'm here. One of the common ideas they like to use is cultivation as a magic system, basically kung fu chi bullshit, and as presented it's kind of shit. What's the good shit I should read so I know how much of what I dislike about it is inherent to the system vs amateur authors fucking it up?In return have an ancient meme from the dawn of recorded history.
>>97942848There are some games for that but the decent ones are on the lower scale. out of the ones I know go play Demon Hunter X or Mage the Ascension. Besides those there is Exalted but that's a very mixed bag iirc.
>>97943281Exalted is less about cultivation and more "you are possessed by the essence of a superhuman entity that gives you power that elevates you above most mortals, then you start going up from there". The basic assumption is that tasks that would be hard for mortals are easy or trivial for you from the beginning.Unless you want to play as a mortal that uses Essence I suppose.
