Cauldron of Essence+Blech+Bogwater Lumaret+General pest nonsense from this list let me win high pressure games that would've been a real struggle for traditional grindy golgari. If there's a lesson I've taken it's to nab 2c rares and synergistic pieces early to carve a lane. 1c rare creatures are mostly just okay, and removal is super replaceable and signpost uncommons are all mythics. Guess that's the way of stuff now.Oh yeah and Practiced Offense is just majorly fucked up so take it. I got to double cast it exactly once and it still just won games every time, I can't imagine how disgusting it would be in a real repartee or flashback deck. Everyone already knew that I imagine.

Rubble rouser mvp once again, I think I'd play 4 if I had them. Great at just about everything except hitting face, and super synergistic with the entire deck. It also helped with ramping up to capstone and molten note flashback, which surprisingly decided a bunch of games. Crazy that the aggro archetype can get up to 8 mana and still win. Hop to it notably won a game by chump blocking for three turns while fliers went face, it was a bit silly. Feeling better about pursue the past. I think I'm rating looting higher, as it's the main way you stock up your graveyard for all the triggers. Though this time around I didn't actually have that many cards that cared about stuff leaving the graveyard, so I probably didn't need much.

I don't really have a whole lot of life gain sources in here so the extra triggered drain ability is nice and deathtouch as well. I also just have 4x avatar so that's what I used. I don't even know if this is the right top end for the deck I just like the off chance Conqueror instakill with Fel's ultimate. I'm still playing around with the low end of the mana curve, not sure what removal I want to settle on, I had 4x hex but it was just a shit draw midgame. Scooze plays well with Fel so I might go up to 2 and get rid of The Ooze.

Wisdom of Ages was a pack 3 get that made the deck work. Got greedy with the raredrafting on this one, but still managed a 2-1. Lost to a better WR deck, unsurprisingly. Seems people have caught on. Definitely felt short on good creatures, glasswrights and lorecasters just don't cut it. The treasures did help make magmablood a bit better though, which was actually relevant in a few games. I think this is literally the first scrollsmith I've been able to pick up all set, and never got to draw it. A shame, since it's probably the best signpost uncommon. Quillblade ate a bunch of removal, which I guess was fine, didn't really have enough buffs in the deck to make it consistent. Now this one was an actually good WR list, and went 3-0 as a result. The synergy is way better, people need to learn that relying on bombs is unreliable. I drew inkwright once in my games, and it was just a 2 mana 2/2 vigilance. Would've preferred better 4 drops, but you can't always pick up more sloths. Artistic process got used for all three modes, it was really nice. Didn't think the 2 damage wipe one would be that useful, but it was good at clearing out chump blockers and finishing off damaged blockers. Hasty flier mode won a game after my opponent dropped winds of abandon and I looted into it. I ended up not running the duel tactics, not sure if that was the right call or not but I don't think it'd take a slot over any of my other removal and I'm already a bit low on creatures. I actually got to cast a scrollsmith this time, so fucking busted. It could've been a 2/2 and still been one of the best cards of the set.

Taking a break from WR, now on UG splashing everything. Ended up 2-1, with a close match 3, opponent managed to cinch it with a disgusting WR aggro curve. Trove seems pretty great for this kind of deck, either fixing and ramp to drop your big stuff or healing to survive the aggro. Studious first year is in a similar role, helped block a bunch of dudes. Newt doesn't fix colors, but is still ramp and trades off late game 1 for 1. Omens feels filthy when you get a 5 for 1, but I think it's probably a win more card, could side it in vs other slow decks. Additive evolution and snarl song seem like staples though, evolution is just a top tier card and song feels ok at 3 colors and incredible at 4 or 5. Rancorous archaic seemed pretty meh, just a big body. Sundering on the other hand is basically snarl song but with removal instead of a body.

Currently at 76 packs and 77 rares drafted, not counting the mythics. SOS format feels pretty solid, but like most recent sets it's been pretty fast paced. Gimme another DOM pls wotc. Unsurprisingly, WR aggro thrives here, though from what I've seen people are doing fairly well with UG based converge piles too. If I had to guess, the stats are underrating UG due to it essentially being represented by these 5c converge decks instead, since if you're on UG you probably have access to so much fixing that you might as well go for it if you see any bombs worth splashing for or strong converge cards. Though like most decks of that sort it'll be pretty swingy depending on whether or not you draw your payoffs and fixing at the right time. WB has been a solid contender with WR, though B definitely feels weaker than R. Most of the B (un)common creatures suck, it's carried by removal. Seems to be a pattern in recent sets. R on the other hand has good removal and creatures, especially for a fast format like this one. Haven't been impressed with BG, no idea how its numbers are that good. Grapple is good, essenceknit is good, but that's about it. Not sure how to feel about UR at this point. U feels real bad to rely on, it's real defensive and slow but WR and WB both have solid scaling.>>97950480Think you're right.
