Which kit most desperately needs an update from the army/armies you play?

Beastmen - razorgors, centigors primarily but I would be glad if chariots were updated too

dwarf warriors and quarellers.

the beards are sculpted fairly poorly despite being 60% of the model. there are horrible gaps and very severe mould slips. the banners and weapons are good but overall pose variety is quite low with only a few faces and bodies, with arms molded to the torso on half of them

and just in general low detail, mushy, and scrawny arms wearing cloth sleeves makes them seem very unimposing and weak. they do not hold up to their art at all
>>
>>97951037
oh an obviously rangers need their own kit with proper cloaks, fur pelts, survival packs, etc, not just using the same models as quarellers

For the sake of my wallet. I really hope they don't do a dwarf MTO with the old metal sculpts. I love these old fuckers so much.
>>
>>97951001
Yeah razorgors especially, 1 resin sculpt is pretty rough. Centigors at least have some variety in the posing.
>>
>>97951037
The caped torsos are especially bad.

>>97951001
>razorgors
I like the razorgor sculpt, it's very charaterful. Needs some greenstuff to fill the gaps though

these look decent but i've been burned by AoW in the past, i bought one of their melee unit kits and the casting quality was some of the worst i've ever seen. flaky resin plastic, mould slips far worse than the worst warhammer fantasy slips, mushy shallow details. i dont know if i just got a bad batch or what but the quality was so bad it put me off the manufacturer

plus arent their physical miniatures OOP now anyways?

>>
>>97951310
Got this kit super cheap 2nd hand and wasn't too impressed by it. They're pretty poorly designed sculpts, not very detailed. You have to clip some of the crossbow strings so they dont collide with the beards. Very annoying to assemble.
>>
>>97951457
the only exception in their range is the slayers kit. for some reason they spent extra money on that kit and actually made it a proper GW style injection mold sprue kit with flat joint posable arms and waist, separate weapon hands, ball joint heads and full command. but the rest of their kits i have not heard good things about
>>
>>97951478
I've only ever bought their Halfling Rogue, but it is one of the coolest minis I own. Planning on using him as a campaign piece of some sort, not sure how yet. Also got a 'cast of the ICoS shitmar Ogre Mercenary fellow from their Chicago gas station Mordheim equivalent, but I might replace him with the actual Mordheim Ogre Bodyguard at least while he's part of a unit next to my old metals.
>>
>>97951001
A Beastmen Reinforcement box with new Centigors, Chariots, and a Centigor Chieftain would be insanely cool

>>
>>97951684
He didn't defeat Nagash, Ghal-Maraz defeated Nagash. If Sigmar didn't have one of the strongest magical artifacts in the entire setting(and didn't get absurdly lucky) he'd have been obliterated.

People seem to forget just how lethal trolls are in the fluff.

See https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IVl9-ZWfIMM which GW would approve as well.

They kill Ogres as well on the regular. Stupider than a box of rocks but acid vomit and having greater brute strength than a mino and ogre is nothing to joke about.
>>
>>97951684
Sigmar is, or at least at the time, was, still human. Yes, he wielded the most powerful magic weapon in the setting (maybe second to the SoK), but he wasn't supernaturally tough because of it. A troll hitting a human really really really hard is going to kill a human, the fact that Sigmar survived means he was already obscenely strong even by human standards.
Plus, the Nagash fight was more just Nagash being a retard than anything else, had he just gone for the kill instead of overextending to get the Crown, Sigmar would have died then and there.
>>
>>97951824
yeah i guess lore and gameplay are not the same when you kill thousand of them in vermintide and total war with just normal human

Not the best lighting in my buddy’s basement, but I let him borrow my Dwarfs since he’s new to the game and still trying it out. He actually beat my Beastmen in this Battle March game, I’m learning Dwarfs are a tough match for Beastmen, but it was a great game. Pretty grueling, as it should be.

Apparently the rumoured new chaos stuff will be limited to "just" new warriors and knights, instead of the "numerous" new kits that were previously alleged

Forsaken are being removed. Same for chaos spawn, the giant spawn will be replaced with the mammoth.
>>

The rumor is, and I think always has been, Warriors, Knights, and Chosen.

And people assume a new dragon is coming soon because of how often it's featured in the art, so people are adding that on but it's not part of the "official" rumor
>>
>>97952065
the previous rumor was warriors, knights, chosen(?), and some heroes

>>
>>97952065
It's as I was worried, Old World's success has kind of fucked it. If it had been a more modest success then they'd have happilly have pumped out basically every old fantasy model by now and we'd have shit like Kislev and Fimir. Instead we've got to wait while they make all new models for everything.
>>
>>97952271
Fimir are rightful AoS clay
>>
Do the current Quarrelers box include cloaks to turn them into rangers or am I better of getting third party models?
>>
>>97952031

>>
>>97952323
There's some in there that have cloaks but it's infrequent - it would be relatively easy to sculpt cloaks on them though.

In terms of jobbing for the setting, beastmen are. Wood elves kind of just exist and are too isolated to be rated even as NPCs. In TOW there is an argument for greenskins too even if they weren't in WHFB.

Thanks! Yeah I built him a list I would have used if I were fighting Beastmen.

Glad he won, he kept seeing his greatly dwindled dwarfs compared to my gors thinking he had definitely lost, but he didn’t immediately understand just how stubborn dwarfs are as an army lol.

>>97952366

>>
>>97952406
Silently wage a constant war against the Beastmen in the forest that the rest of the world doesn’t see. Really hope we get a narrative like that for TOW, especially if Morghur returns.

But the also will be shitbags to random Bretonnian peasants who don’t deserve to be skinned alive and nailed to branches.

>>97952395
Reading comprehension is at an all time low, I see
>>
>>97952395

Desperately need new chaos ogres. These old 6th edition models are pretty dire. I've been thinking about grabbing some of the 8th edition ogres from AoS and doing some creative kitbashing rather than use pic related.
>>
>>97952778
you genuinely have no soul. The only issue is the price of those guys.
>>
>>97952784
I just don't think the ogres had good models for a long time, not until the ogre kingdoms actually launched later in 6th ed. Before that though? It was rough.

You're right about the price though.
>>
>>97952888
Nta but giant mongolians was a dull design choice IMO. I much preferred the variation of normal looking ogres. Also the gut plate aesthetic is meh.

>>
>>97952031

Kino, other than magic I suppose there isn’t much Beastmen can do against dwarfs right? They kind of want you to grind it out with them.
>>
>>97952777
I could have been clearer. Beastmen are the jobber army. Its the role to take narrative Ls even if they are interesting.
Green skins in TOW are NPC status though. Yeah they have things going on, but they arent really impacting anything major yet. It's the same as wood elves where they are existing dangerously over there somewhere.
>>
>>97952271
0% chance we’d have Kislev if they stuck with resin. They wouldn’t do an all new range with resin. It would have been reserved for a kit here and there as additions. Kislev was delayed because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
>>
>>97953086
Yeah, Viletide is about the only steady weapon that works, but with dorf’s MR its still a little shaky.

Dragon Ogres do decent, I like halberds on them which usually can still out-initiative them on a charge with the added benefit of str and ap.
>>
>>97953062
They were the lines of emergent leaders of the human tribes during the great catastrophe.
The similarities to the elven gods come from these leaders being taught to by the elven gods ahead of asuryan's decree.
The difference between these gods and sigmar is that sigmar was one man who reached godhood, while the other gods didn't come from but one man who was idolised to greatness, but an entire line of men who inherited a role and whose persona got deified instead of any one individual.
>>
>>97953086
Pigs are great. And the flying monsters in general. Centigors with great weapons as well. People drastically under estimate how good the two vortexs the primal magic is against armies like theirs too.
Otherwise, yeah they struggle with dwarfs.

the other consideration is that warriors and quarrelers bodies are pretty much compatible. they require only some very minor massaging and bit work on the hands to be completely interchangable between the two kits, and there are more capes in the warrior kit

so if you got say the battalion, you could give the cape-less bodies to the warriors and steal the warrior capes for your rangers

i also made a point on mine to give the warriors all the horned helms from both kits, and all my rangers non horned helms
>>
>>97953304
>so if you got say the battalion, you could give the cape-less bodies to the warriors and steal the warrior capes for your rangers
