Should the Eldar get new aspect warriors? If you were in the position to design a new class of aspect warriors, what would it be like and what battlefield niche would it fill?
>>
>>97951763
Make a dozen abilities, a dozen stat upgrades and a dozen stratagems or whatever the hell you're calling them. Mixing and matching to make various custom aspects.
>>
>>97951763
crimson hunters open the door to tank-aspect warriors, but we dont see any. we also dont have a CAS-heli unit.

otherwise, some kind of tanky cover+ward squad that spams holofields and landmines. photo-tarantula?
>>
>>97952198
Some sort of bodyguard aspect would be cool as well. Give each warrior shimmershields for those invulnerable saves. Dunno what weapons would be appropriate for them, perhaps some sort of power lances or something.
>>
>>97952346
Shining spears are right there...
>>
>>97952620
They aren't a bodyguard aspect
>>
>>97952198
crimson hunters shouldn't exist, they arent even based on an animal. Shining spears are fine because they fight with their helmets out.

Psionic aspect warriors would be the next logical unit.

Semi-this, if you want to branch a soldiery archetype with a mystical archetype without going full Warlock you can make them [Something] Sirens that fuck with enemy comms/minds to debuff them. Basically the Eldar equivalent of electronic warfare/signal specialists.
>>
>>97951763
probably something with plasma guns for anti-Marine and anti-Necron warfare

their lore could be they were created for hunting Necron way back in the day, but as priorities shifted to immediate threats, they became very rare, but now that the Necron are reawakening, they have made a comeback

alternately, some sort of anti-psyker and anti-daemon unit that often works with the White Seers
>>
>>97953426
It is kind of silly that the Eldar lack infantry scale plasma guns when even the fucking Tau have them
>>
We've got lots of big gun Eldar but they don't have a lot of missiles do they? Maybe some rocket launcher dudes that do indirect volley fire and can also use special loads to inflict various effects.
>>
>>97952839
Eldar can't into being psychic without warlock path otherwise they accidentally themselves and everyone around them through possession and other warp vulnerability.
>>
>>97953971
Yes and no, they can't go full Psyker but all Eldar, Craftworld Eldar in particular, do utilize psy-tech and low-end psychic powers. They wouldn't necessarily need to be Psykers to create telepathic weapons.
>>
>>97951763
Combat engineers/breachers. Something that denies movement and cover for your opponent and opens up movements for you.
>>
I want new ynnari more than new aspect warriors. maybe adding a warlock variant for each existing aspect could be cool. warp spider warlock that can gate your whole army around
>>
>>97953961
What do you think Dark Reapers are?
>>
>>97951763
I see it now. Primaris Aspect Warriors. The new, bigger, STRONGER Aspect Warriors. Superior in every way!
>>
>>97953548
I kind of just figure the Tau weapons aren't as good as their rules suggest, either they hit less hard or they run out of ammo quickly or something

The Imperial ones are just really dangerous to use on top of running out of ammo quickly
>>
>>97951763
I really do wish that the Ynnari had their own unique Aspect Warriors. You know, with the whole duality / phoenix motif.
But they've been consigned to the bin.
>>
>>97954334
Lorewise Tau weapons are described as doing taking down guardsmen easily and doing a decent job against marines. They're at least on par with bolters or the like.
Ammo is a possibility since Tau prefer hit and run tactics and quick engagements, but it's not like that isn't also how the Eldar like to fight.
>>
>>97953986
I need you to say that last sentence out loud to yourself and think about how retarded it is.
>>
>>97955148
Ynnari in general ought to have had thier own units aside from just the 3 hero units they got.
>>
>>97951763
I'd like to get new sculpts of dire avengers first.

Dark Reaper helmets look silly and I am tired of pretending otherwise.
