Is WARMACHINE back now? Do people play it now that Steamforged is releasing print files for old armies and supporting it?

Feels like that would depend on your local community, but at least in Europe you can buy the models now, and the game is pretty good.

If you buy and play the MK4 armies you'll be fine. If you want to come back with your old armies it's pushing shit up hill outside of a couple of factions.

Kind of in that a more competent entity runs the IP now.
I didn't say they were competent. Just more competent than PrivateerPress.
They went in on 3D printing to try and boost popularity.
Admittedly Warmachine is a shadow of what it was but there's always a chance it could regain it's place again. Even if slim.

Not with 3d printed models. Only nerds want those.
>>
You can play them in One Page Rules for Not-Fantasy Not-Killteam.

>no old cryx units

Bummer...
I could do with another nightmare, some of the little bipeds and a canker-worm.
I've always had a liking for necro-techno-mancers as antagonists in my ttrpg campagins.

There is a new Cryx faction that focuses on the thralls and necro-tech side of Cryx, but yeah, it pretty limited what they brought back for their Minifactory page. What limits them is two-fold, MK4 is about the small contained armies for balance, one of the big issues they had by MK3 was how fucking big the factions had gotten. The other part of the problem is a large portion of the catalog was hand-sculpted and then cast, so now digital sculpts exist. A lot of core stuff had been updated with new CAD sculpts, but there was still a lot that never got any. I'm pretty sure the Cankerworm was one such model, but I could be wrong, I'm not clear on when they really switched over.

Me and my mates started playing and it’s been fun. A bit of a pain that we need to ship the big boys across the pond because local stores don’t sell the bigger jacks and beasts but it is what it is.

think the /3dpg/ has scans in one of their secret little troves?

as is, mechanithralls I have left and the Minis I have from the old cryx starter box have served in a couple of games of D&D.

Many have succumbed to lesser tasks than honoring the will of Great Toruk.
