I think it's quite pathetic how 40kiddies and sigmarfags just accept that GW deletes half of their collection every edition, and keep throwing money at the company anyways.

The point of miniature wargaming is the unspoken promise - one day, you can be done with your army, and you can enjoy it forever. GW fanboys just accept the company deleting half of their collection and keep lapping the new shit up. It is quite embarassing, honestly.

Don’t care. I only play a game like once a year anyways.
>>

Of course, I am referencing the recent rumors of GW deleting all the firstborn (except the rhino and landraider), plus a bunch of 8th edition primaris stuff.
>>
>deletes
>deleting
how does GW make plastic turn to dust selectively?
there is great opportunity in that technology!
>>
>>97962290
Come on, anon. We all know that the current 40k community is a bunch of sweaty tournament losers that won't play with anything that's not in the sacred GW texts. The amount of people who would accept playing with banned/legends units or older editions is a small fraction.
>>
>>97962255
My miniatures are physically in my house. GW is not deleting anything. You are the drone for following new rule releases instead of playing whatever edition you like with your friends.
>>
>Frogbot got unbanned
wonder how long this one will last.
>>
>>97962298
In official tournaments maybe? Outside of that literally nobody gives a shit unless you're putting a grot down and asking to proxy it as a squiggoth.
>>
>>97962255
Everyone around here throws their money at resin manufacturers these days, not GW. Who the fuck pays $10 for a piece of plastic with badly placed mold lines?
>>
>>97962440
It depends on where you play. Some of my local stores, not even just the local gw, have gone full competitive for everything. No fun proxies, no making your dudes, etc. Some people there do allow it, but it is rare compared to the average being where most people get weirded out or mad over some models having old base sizes.

>>97963703
Fuck them. Be the change you want to see and take a shit on their table. Tell them its your own homebrewed chapter of Space Marines.
>>
>>97962298
You obviously have no idea what the average warhammer player is like. Most people don't know what's legends outside of their own army and don't ask.
>>
>one day, you can be done with your army
Hahahahahahaha.
There is always another brigade.
There is always another squadron.
The ride never ends.
>>
>>97962255
You know you can just play with YOUR figures using editions that GW has stopped supporting if you want to, you can even use them with homemade rules or rule sets from other companies. Just rope in a friend and do it, There is no need to use only what GW is selling at any particular moment. You bought them, they are yours now, to use how you want.>>97963703
Local stores - they want you to buy what they are selling, ie current GW stock. Play at home, in a garage, in a village hall and you can do what you want, not what the salesman is telling you.
>>
You guys don't buy secondhand?
>>
>I can't use my squad of space marines wielding bolters as this unit of space marines wielding bolters because... I just can't okay
I hate marinehogs
>>
>>97964699
>dude just play old editions
All my friends are tourneyfags. They stop playing the last edition the femtosecond new indexes drop.
>>
>>97962255
I just feel pity for the new players - they come into the hobby after hearing that this game has been going for 40 odd years, buy a £200 model or boxed set, not knowing that there is a good chance it will be squated by next year and unusable. Poor fuckers.
>>
>>97964714
Marine paypiggies are a blight on wargaming as a whole. They enable all of GW's worst impulses, giving everyone else a bad example too
>>
>>97962255
This only happens to marines and sigmarines. Based factions barely surviving are inmune to planned obsolescence.
>>
>>97962255
I'm sorry no one gives a shit about your dogshit reddit game of choice, OP
>>
>>97962255
>collection
but im only here for the lore? i dont care about models.
>>
>>97962263
>Don't care
Yeah, that's exactly what OP just said
>>
>>97965155
Then you are a secondary, which is even worse.
>>
>>97965008
>based factions
But GW deletes your kits too, just with a lesser frequency. See: dark eldar grotesques. Or the phoenix lord of the striking scorpions.
>>
How do I convince my playgroup that rather than slapping a bunch of house rules into a shitty game system we could simply play a better game system instead?
>>
>>97968611
Everyone knows the scorpion Phoenix
Lord will come back next edition.
>>
>>97968639
Could try something that doesn't require them to buy new minis. Eg. OPR, stargrave
>>
>>97962255
You don't play tabletop games
You probably don't even play video games
