Am I the only one that gets "Painting fatigue"? I can only paint like one or two miniatures a month, and I Am exausted, physically and mentally after, or Am I exaggerating and this hobby is not for me?

one or two minis a month is more than most
the grey tide consumes all

ALSO, try batch painting.

Maybe.
But why do you need to paint more miniatures than 2 per month? To complete an army?
If its just that, look into speedpainting with or without contrast/speedpaints and batch paint the shit out of your dudes, and force yourself to complete your army, and once you are done, you can play pretty much forever and never have to paint again.

But if you paint, for the sake of painting, and you still kinda hate it.. just look for a different hobby.

But seriously, if its to get an army painted, just use speedpaints. Pic related (+4 vehicles not on the pic) is what i painted in the last 3,5-4 weeks.
Bases and base rims is what is really causing me fatigue, so i always do it at the very last step, when i can do all minis at once.

Wow, what a genuinely pathetic excuse for a human being. Truly a waste of a life

But that is the only reason I paint

Depends. If you mean "man I slapchopped and contrasted two minis I'm fucking exhausted" get your Vitamin D and Iron checked.

If you mean "I start to finished a complete and complex paintjob" that's entirely reasonable. Practice may make you faster, but there's nothing evil about not wanting to make it a second job.

Doing it at all is plenty good. Don't feel like you have to race.

Probably not a good hobby for you but you could just play games with smaller miniature counts.

I get it welhen there's nothing to look forward too. As in, if I know I have a game coming up, ill be super focused on painting my squads. If its just painting to paint, I dont get much out of it. Usually comes in waves though, the fatigue.

My problem is that I need everything perfect to feel comfortable painting. I need to have just dusted the day before (entire room), it needs to be not cold enough for the furnace to run, and I need to have vigorously agitated all of my paints twice (once the day before, once right before painting). And then I can only paint for about two days consecutively before I get neurotic about dust building back up.

I cannot stress this enough, paint small parts to completion. Varnish and all. Then go do something else. Coming back a model with a section fully done is mentally invigorating, real dopamine box-ticking stuff. Coming back to a model in a state of colour chaos is honestly draining. Pic related, feels good man.

This. Unless you're doing a scheme where you wash the entire figure in a single shade there is no reason to basecoat everything at the same time.

It's a choice between grimly going "trust the process trust the process" or actually seeing progress over time.

I always batchpaint - color 1, color 2, color 3... wash 1, wash 2, highlights 1, highlights 2 - and 10 guys are done.

You would be a great factory worker in china. Batchpainting like this is absolute cancer. Only bug people can endure it.

getting shit done is not cancer, its amazing.

This is rather subjective, I tend to get more of a feeling of progress by blocking in at least the major colours first.

Switching to a mini from a different faction/game helps me a lot when I'm feeling a bit burned out with what I'm painting right now. But I'm mostly painting for skirmish games or just for the sake of it. I honestly can't imagine painting an entire big army in any decent amount of time without getting sick of it 33% in. Variety is important.

Get your OCD fixed anon. Shit like that eats up your life

I used to paint like that but I find I get better quality when I can stay on track with a single part without having to come back to it and forgetting where I was.

That said, you're probably both better with speed and quality than I am so this is not that much of a benchmark.
