>Including a fairy companion as a DMPCGood idea, or in poor taste? Not some OP bullshit pixy with PC class levels either, just a shoulder companion.
>>97965523It's good if you're not playing D&D with a bunch of casterfags who already have their own familiars. Then again almost any good TTRPG is better outside of D&Dogshit.
You are only asking because fairies are pretty and barefoot
It can be useful to have a little Navi-like companion helping out the party and giving them direction/focus if they're the types to need a little handholding getting from point A to B or you're the type of GM that isn't the best at setting up story hooks in a subtle way. Sometimes they need a little mouthpiece on someone's shoulder to tell them that a village is in need of saving.
>>97965535FPBPIf you're not playing DnDone then include it and have fun.
Hey! Listen.
>>97965569I mean, that's a better reasoning than most threads here.
>>97965523Depends on execution. More or less impossible to assess without context.
>When the DM speaks in that annoying high pitch girly fairy voice for the 100th time in the session because they think it's funny
>>97965535FPBP/threadIt's a good idea in good games, but D&D will ruin it like D&D ruins most good roleplaying ideas.
>>97965523>DMPCBad idea by definition.
>>97965523Content isn't good or bad. Execution is.
>>97966209nah. DM has a four button soundboard of premade yelps for the fairy and nothing else.
>>97965523I can see it work. As >>97965807 said, a mouthpiece that helps guide the players can be useful if not abused.
>>97965523That is a boy in the OP pic.
>>97965535FP/BPThis is a cool idea in any game where the players don't already have designated familiars or a party mascot. Some games like Magical Burst and Ryuutama pretty much explicitly tell you to do this (though not always in the form of a fairy).Don't bother if you're playing D&D though. D&D shits up this idea like it shits up everything else it touches.
>>97965523The closest I included was a crow named Bastard who only knew vulgar words and seemed to laugh whenever a PC badly failed a roll.
