Wasted potential: the setting.
>>97965772Most D&D settings can be described that way.
>>97965781Not Forgotten Realms.
>>97965772well yeah 2e is dogshit bro
>>97966236Said the stupid person.
>>97966329hi fishfag! 2e is dogshit, and you love eating it.You love eating dogshit!
>>97966339No one want to hear about how much you thinking about eating shit, retard nogames.
>>97966352>peepee poopoo no uyawn, back to the baby talk again?2e is a shit game, into the trash it goesim a big guy U U U U
>>97966236Agreed. Out of all the games you could possibly play, why in the world would anybody pick this one?
>>97965801>has no potentialChecks out
>>97966391You are the one who talking about shit and eating it, retard.
>>97965772Not really. The setting is terrible. The art direction generally, and TD specifically, are the only things that Planescapes ever had going for it. It massively exceeded its expected potential because of the art.
>>97966464sigil is very cool tho
>>97966436>fishfag peepee poopoo no usuck-start a shotgun you 70iq buffoon
>>97966236>>97966339>>979663982e is absolutely wonderful. We were spoiled rotten with the beautiful settings. The campaign box sets, filled with maps and screens and handouts, were the absolute pinacle of TTRPGs.>>97966476Eh. Quasi cockney london is lame. Anglophiles are lame. Planescapes is lame. Be a man: play Spelljammer.
>>97966488nice b8
>>97966500>How dare anyone hold a different opinion than mine on the internetSorry anon, but the world is bigger and more varied than you think.
>>97966486That just you and your retarded posts, faggot.
>>97966398Maybe you should try learning about the game rather than just mindlessly agreeing with a retard who only understanding of it is that there are people who think it is OSR.
These fucking bots are so fucking tiresome.
>>97966540It isn't though?
Annah
>>97966910Nta but he's completely right and the general consensus on this website for more than a decade has been that that edition sucks. Why are you acting so personally defensive?
Back in the 2010s, I used to play and GM a lot of Planescape. The very first Planescape adventure I ran was set in Arcadia.I would strongly recommend the AD&D 2e books Planes of Law, Planes of Conflict, and Planes of Chaos to anyone looking for planar adventures in the Outer Planes. I have used these books as inspiration for running everything from Bytopia to Gehenna.Arcanaloths were unusually pervasive as PCs and as NPCs simply because I depicted them as anime foxgirls (and foxboys, and the occasional jackalgirl and jackalboy).
>>97967281That's absolute nonsense, anon. Plenty of us love 2e. It has, hands down, the absolute best D&D has to offer. OSR-bros are a fairly recent infestation to /tg/, and their opinions are irrelevant to people who play D&D.
>>97967232Annahl Sex
>>97967281The consensus is retards like you don't speak for /tg/ you stupid nogames.
>>97966910I'm 42 and I've played d&d since middle school, and second Ed has always been shit
>>97967294>>97967331One person pretending to post over and over doesn't make you more than one person.
I'm 35 and I've never played DnDIn my opinion, 2e is one of the best editions.
>>97967331How is that a normal response in any way? Y'all doing okay, son?
>>97966893a bit rude, no? why are you replying like this?
>>97965772Desperation: the thread
>>97967852>and I've never played DnDWhy?>2nd edition Why?
>>97967811You say yet you post like a retarded 12 year old who never played in his faggot life.
>>97967839Maybe you should try having more than one brain cells so you understand more than one person can disagree with your dumb posts.
>>97965772One of the many mistakes 5e made was downplaying planar stuff at the start, and not make it explicit that they're connected to alignments the way 3e did.Any discussion involving alignments is marred by the fact that no one knows shit about the planes. The planes are the alignments and the alignments are the planes. You can't have one without the other. They should have probably also bit the bullet and increase the number of alignments to 17 to match the planes.
>>97968173I have no idea what about my post could have you that impression, do you mind talking like a regular person for a minute and explaining what you mean?
>>97965772Planescape was great, not a single thing dull or uninteresting about it. Perfect synthesis of Magical Realm fodder and imagination. Sad its trapped in a garbage zombie company now where the blood war was reduced to some trivial background fluff a retarded Larian sanic OC tier tiefling can survive to talk about.
>>97968178Why do you seem to reply to every single person in the thread with some weird angry insult?Just seems like a really strange thing to do
>>97966488>Eh. Quasi cockney london is lame. Anglophiles are lame. Planescapes is lame. Be a man: play Spelljammer.I'm glad somebody said it. Planescape is kind of intellectually intriguing, but it's a lousy setting for a game of D&D. Spelljammer, on the other hand, is kino as fuck.
>>97968398You don't need to stay in Sigil by any means.
>>97965772All of D&D was wasted potential, and now it's owned by pigs who only care about riding the coattails of their product's legacy for profit.
>>97967232>>97967297
>>97973339
>>97973336>>97973339>>97973344Would.
>>97973339>>97973344This girl could definitely make a living selling her bodyWhy does she have a tail though
>>97973495Because she's a tiefling. This was back when tieflings were actually unique and not the technicolour faggots WotC decided they needed to be in 4e. Even tourists think playing a tiefling means you're a homosexual.
>>97976214There are no words to describe how much I despise what they did to tieflings, drow and tanar'ri. Its very clear wotc are a bunch of baatezu leather gimps that jerk off to the idea of state mandated butt stuff now.
>>97976214>>97976214breaking news, no one ever played a shitty looking Tiefling with some bullshit appearance like "extremely long nose, extreme deep-set eyes, blue hair, six fingers, horselike legs and extremely greasy, green-tinted skin"Never. Not.Even.Once.its a bullshit table for internet warriors to masturbate to when crying about the "good old days"
>>97976445I ran a one-shot where two of my players did. Well, one of them swapped out the five default tiefling abilities to roll on the first table five times and just came up with his appearance. He ended up with an evil "devil cleric" character. The other rolled a 2 on his d4 roll for appearance and got long legs and blue hair. He had halfway decent stats for a cleric/mage and opted to play a fighter instead. He was a newer player.
>>97976445Extremely thoughtful well crafted bait or the misguided internet warrioring of a mental patient with med cocktail cups and a handler.
>>97976445Absolutely fucking not, everyone at my tables playing Tiefling and Aasimar loved to make genuinely eldritch shit, either by randomly rolling or by picking thematically appropriate mutations for the type of Plane they wanted to be influenced by, no one sat at the table saying "I really want multicolor Draenei and I want them now". To be fair we would have called them a serial masturbator or something like that if they did.
I never saw planescape as a setting, just a sourcebook for the outer planes.
>>97980659Sigil is supposed to be the setting, and it's meant as a way to fasttrack planar travel without being super high-level.
>>97980670Is not*, surely
>>97980787Sigil is the setting. The other planes are just there as fluff, you're not suppose to visit them.
>>97978208>no one sat at the table saying "I really want multicolor Draenei and I want them now". Draenei also came into being a decade after Planescape.>>97980819Nah, you were supposed to day or week trip to them from Sigil. That was the point of Sigil being full of Portals. Sigil is home base and the Outer Planes are where you went on adventures.
