I have a question regarding the Feywild of D&D.Does it extend into outer space and beyond? Or is it merely a closed off realm with nothing past the sky if you were to try and leave?
>>97974935Bold of you to assume that outer space exists in D&D.
>>97974969Literally everything exists in DND... its literally CANNON that RL earth exists in DND...
>>97974935Yes, it extends into outer space and into the ground. Moons and planets in the PMP will also have their own reflection in the Feywild.
>>97974980Is there any lore written about this anywhere to find? Or is it all homebrew fly by the seat of your pants.
>>97974935Im going to say no. The shadowfell isnt a cracked mirror, you can physically fold into it and places like the domains of dread are entirely seperate spaces not mirrors of real places. Those places have borders, so it stands to reason the feywild does too. Part 2 of that thought is that eventually the feywild is meant to blend into the upper energy plane, which has all its own geometry like the elemental planes do. Its entirely possible that there is no feywild in space where the planes dont overlap as strongly. If there is one though, its just going to be a transitional space between the material and energy planes. Things will only live there if there are void-adapted celestials or fey-adapted void creatures in 5e. So im guessing a feathered squid that forces wis saves
>>97974972Why do....youtype like...this?
>>97974972Yeah, on an entirely different material plane.
>>97975221He's probably 64 years old
>>97974969Ayy lmaos and laser guns have been a part of the game forever.
>>97974935Ask your DM, that's the only answer that matters.
>>97975043That's what D&D is, though. No two tables run campaigns the same, and even different campaigns from the same DM can end up wildly different. That's why it's retarded that D&D is even advertised, because it creates false expectations.
>>97974972Bold of you to assume that outer space exists in RL
>>97974935it depends on the setting.
>>97974935>Does it extend into outer space and beyond? Or is it merely a closed off realm with nothing past the sky if you were to try and leave?Inner Planes are terrestrial/internal only: they're created and cultivated by the inherent elemental energies of the prime material planet they satellite. If you were teleported to any Elemental Plane, or the Feywild, you would be able to very easily circumvent your own world, and perhaps even be able to move through time to some extent, but you would not be able to leave the planet. Outer Planes are *extraterrestrial/external: they spread out infinitely, growing larger eternally as they connect to, and form, endless bridges between worlds and planets. If you were teleported to any Outland you could hypothetically 'hike' to another planet; covering an insurmountable amount of distance in a miniscule amount of time. This is assuming you'd be able to get out however. *Not every planet is connected to every Outer Plane though, so transfers between worlds can at times be necessary.
>>97977708>Plane of OozePlane of Mud would have sounded better.
>>97977767Plane of Cum
>>97977708The thing is, is wild space and the astral realm the same thing? I often see them intermixed as one in the same. Since wild space is tied to the material realm, and that should technically reflect in the Feywild and Shadowfell?
>>97979709>The thing is, is wild space and the astral realm the same thing? This is where things get a little to niche for me to completely understand, so I encourage someone to correct me:Wild Space is the immediate, literal, *vacuum of space, contained within the artificial sphere of a solar system in D&D land. These crystal spheres contain "wild space", but exist within the greater astral realm like floating bubbles or distinct territories, and are how the gods maintain and claim ownership over settings within the greater Forgotten Realms Universe. So to answer your question: "No", wild space still exists inside an internal system. *Crystal spheres are not a complete vacuum in that that overtime they absorb the immense amount of energy/matter radiated off by the god(s) managing them. The older a crystal sphere is the more this influences a setting; some settings for instance have vacuums that are functionally room temperature. This doesn't crop up too much however as the creationist/excessively magical nature of these realms makes them incredibly unstable - the 4th edition setting, for instance, is considered orphaned; undergoing a mixture of normalization and breaking down as "real world physics" eat away at it, and the dead gods residing decompose.
>>97974935D&D lore is dogshit, nobody who actually wrote it ever considered this point.
How come the Farplane gets left out of a lot of these maps?
>>97979959I think because Wizards of the Coast has no idea how to approach the Far Realm. Its concept is so alien to D&D and the fantasy mythos, that it seems to just always exist just beyond the maps. Like an unspoken land over the horizon everyone acknowledges is there, but never want to go to.
>>97980320It doesn't need to have anything definite about it which I think would serve well to allow whatever little bit of it the DM and PCs want to fuck around with be whatever they come up with. That said, I think a lot of that stems from when Arkham House threatened them for including the mythos back in the day so D&D hasn't really dipped its toes in the mythos style monsters that can easily exist in the european mud farmer fantasy aesthetic as well as anything else
>>97974935How does Feywild breast milk taste like Ed?
>>97974969Kek
>>97981933I am going to guess sweet like candy. Maybe honey milk.
