THREAD QUESTION
>The best Kindred haven you've been to
>>
>>97974659
Well it is nice to know apparently I could have had super powers WITHOUT turning into a butt ugly sewer monster. Fuck this unlife.
>>
>>97975800
Why were you embraced? Did your Sire ever tell you why you became a vampire?
>>
>>97975814
Sire wanted someone a bit more 'up to date' on the bookkeeping, modern tech and general purpose business matters and also wanted someone who went to waste his life in college. Local nossies had leaned a little too much into hobos, lowlifes, rednecks and the like and they needed someone a bit more 'fresh' in skills and knowledge.

I also miiight have had already done a lot of work in pyramid scheme marketing which is one reason why the other night I mentioned not asking questions about who is higher on the pyramid. Honestly, horrible appearance aside it ain't too bad. My sire's actually LESS awful than some of the human bosses I've had and he actually appreciate my work. I'm way more worried about pissing off the rest of the Cammies vamps than my sire if I'm being honest.
>>
>>97975800
would ye prefer to be fucked in the head like the malkavians? off in your own cosmic cuck chair like the toreadors unable to do the things that inspire you well? be on the files because your a ventrue allergic to post-pubescent blood?
yea we aint got sunshine and rainbows but ill take our garbage over some of the other insidious mental stuff
>>
>>97976465
I mean no offense but, in the age of mass surveillance and drones, do you not fear the clans you just mentioned will eventually decide to pull the plug and kick you out the Camarilla?
>>
>>97977334
I mean there's a reason why almost every nosferatu clique I've meet has focused on being useful while still persuing their own goals. It's fairly laudible but at the same time, no doubt it's partially motivated by also being some of the most replusive vampires. While not phased by pure ugliness like most humans, seldom do most vampires (or the cammies at least) like to be reminded of the monsters they are, which makes the nosferatu an easy bully boy and punching bag for a lot of them.
>I caught one in my bathroom one time, don't know how long he had been in there. Just chilling, taking notes presumably. It's true.
>>
>>97975534
The haven of the Prince of Innsbruck. On its own, a very impressive manor, achieving that perfect balance between opulence and restraint that I have come to expect from Blue Bloods. As I was there as a guest of the Prince's, I know that I did not uncover all of its secrets. Tempting as it is, to explore every nook and cranny of your host's haven is to court final death. Still, it was a staggeringly tasteful manor. The observatory was wonderful, and it had a notable library beneath it. I'm not much for dancing, but the ballroom was likewise impressive in its construction, filled with all manner of beautiful decorations both occidental and oriental. I also found the Prince himself to be surprisingly good company. He completely lacked the bitter undercurrent I have found common among European Princes.

Though I must admit some bias, it was constructed in the early 18th century, which made me nostalgic in ways I have not felt since I was a mortal. It reminded me of the estate I served in when I was a child.

>>97977633
you familiar with the term 'kompromat'? oh sure, the services of my people are vital, but they're one hand of the relationship.
see, if anyone ever decided to do something unthinkably idiotic, i'm pretty sure we have a range of options. everything from 'elder toppling unlife ruining personal packages' to the nuclear 'the sabbat would cream emselves cause the masquerade is over. get bent.'

so lets all keep being 'good neighbours' yea?
>>
>>97977741
Look I'm not saying I would want it, or you would deserve it, or it would be free of consequences, or it wouldn't be an unbelievably stupid idea, all I'm saying is... the Camarilla might do it anyway.
Another prank by the Malkavians...
>>
>>97977334
I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Its not like at my age I wasn't raised on 'oh no, doomsday you'll die some day because of X'. Nothing's changed beside the fact I'm ugly and biologically dead. There's always some assholes who rule over me and could fuck me over. Seriously the only thing that changed for me is I live in dumpsters and sewers and look like ass.

Hell even my job security and work being appreciated is overall BETTER as a vamp. Beside I had a cancer on remission and my family has a history with it so its not like my human lifespan was garanteed.
>>
>>97977829
worse comes to worse the camarilla is over
at that point, knives come out, and odds are either the ventrue or the tremere are left with whatever isn't collapsed.
>>
>>97977741
I thought it best left unsaid, but as
>>97977829
points out, it's a dagger that's sharp as hell against one and dull against many. Oddly enough I never thought that cancel culture was one of ours, turns out when you're undead the idea of being 'unpersonned' is a bit laughable.

>Good Neighbors
Brother, I am your best neighbor. Excuse my heavy feet.

>>97977829
>Prank by the Malkavians
It would be an interesting excercise. Perhaps a bit of Kriegsspiel is in order. Let's not naysay each other, but in a positive contributing manner what would happen.
>On LIVE tv?
>That's right the revealed and prooved beyond a shadow of a doubt on LIVE tv that vampires exist
>I thought it was aliens
>No, VAMPIREs the whole time live amongst us, feeding on us, killing us
>And infront of 50 million live viewers and online enthusiests, there's no way there's no way they are getting that Genie back in the bottle.
Probably the most immediate of effects would be an increase in Religiousity I presume. The existance of literal bloodsuckers could not work any other way I think. Second I would say that the princes of almost every city and that entire power rank among Anarchs and Sabbat as well would be very uncomfortable place to be. Schemes from beneath, but also many eldar vampires who see themselves as above the 'day to day' would come into play in this new up for grabs world. Any weak prince gets toppled, any strong prince still has to contend that their entire power structure which was based on secrecy now has to reform to one based on Strength? Perhaps PR management? And they have to deal with the Camarillah as an secret organization ceasing to exist and with every other weak prince being disposed, which would only add pressure to their own set up.

Nossies and Malkavians thriving on secrecy and chaos would do good in the short term at least.

>>97978019
I'm not so sure, I think the mages and ventrue both rely on power structures that might disappear or be disrupted.
>>
>>97978754
>No, VAMPIREs the whole time live amongst us, feeding on us, killing us
He's just a Gollum cosplayer.
>>
>>97978754
no. its a dagger people dont think applies to them.
i know im not privy to the full extent of the dead-man switch contents but everyone except the no-contact gangrels have weaknesses and faultlines that at best ruin unlives. at worst- shouldn't even have to fucking say it. god you people dont even know how much we do in the algorithm age to keep surveillance states full of false positives. even just stopping that would expose half the fucking camarillas ass to the GLOBEHUN network.

>I'm not so sure, I think the mages and ventrue both rely on power structures that might disappear or be disrupted.
i said theyd be holding the bag, not that ninety five percent of the bag had been turned to dust. and that theyd follow shortly after.

almost like starting the MAD scenario is fucking stupid
>>
Eh, the human politicians are already fucking vampires in their own way. If anything I'd say we're not really that scary compared to how monstrously fucked human society has been for me at least the monstrous side's on the outside of people I hang with now.

At least, that's what I tell myself when feeding. That if not me it would be some whackjob gutting that person with a knife for a few $$ or shooting up their kids in a school. Who cares if I'm drinking some poor lowlife sob, life will fuck him over sooner or later anyway so I'm just speeding up the process.

Fuck am I starting to sound like an Anarch? Some of the guys I've talked to think I'm a bit too hands off with the ghouls. Shit I even paid some of them for their work.

The best one doesn't really count as a haven

But the best actual haven would to be Hatshepsup's old place out in the back behind her club. She always had a stocked bar and no matter how messed up I was, she helped me. It was also basically an Elysium for the Marquette people back before it all went bad, because we didn't really have one. Every time the Pro-Cammie folks tried to make one somebody self-sabotaged so we all ended up meeting in the parking lot behind Hatshepsup's strip club when we had meetings.

Oh right gotta doreadingsshitfuckfuarkeraaaaaaaa

>Who cares if I'm drinking some poor lowlife sob, life will fuck him over sooner or later anyway so I'm just speeding up the process.

You do clearly. Which is better than not caring even if it feels like someone shoved a welding solder in your butt! It'd be easier to not, I know for me like- cause-- well I could probably shut down the bad thoughts completely cause I lure in bad people usually. Can't though. That's the little death that grinds you down.

Like a room with a floor made of rolling sandpaper. Just- less dramatic you know?
>>
>>97979355
Well look, I'm not pretending to be what I'm not. I'm certainly not a 'nice' vampire, I don't pretend to be: one of the first thing I did when I got the hang of my new form was to go drink and drive insane some asshole from a past job I wanted revenge against. Pure revenge fantasy and it felt good going OOGA BOOGA I AM MONSTER until the dude had a stroke. At least initially. That said, my sire put me in charge of his fencing operation and there's not a whole lot to gain from just being a dick 24/7 to the ghouls.

Beside, they know the punishment for the REAL, complete and utter fuck up. On a good night, we break their limbs and keep them alive as long as we can with vitae. On a bad day? We promise to embrace them. Sure we can't without the Prince's permission last I checked but they don't know this. Last guy who opened his mouth about even hinting being a ghoul we turned his limbs into pretzels using bricks and baseball bats.
>>
>>97979416
We all pretend to be something we're not silly.

You just have one less mask to hide behind for that picture you paint for yourself. But there's always more inside. I'm just trying to give you a warning while my lucidity holds out you know? Something I knid of try to internalize myself, just cause I still get bad mood swings even being medicated.

All this ranges from mafia to death cult to something else. Don't be afraid to look at your long term options, cause like- forever is a long time. And you are your own Monarch when you realize it.
>>
>>97975534
my own. once in the back kostantiniyye i had a small miserable apartment in the underground that for all the toil i went through there was the first home i knew. thanks to a spell gifted to my by a sephardic sorcerer it was unseen by friends and foes alike.

though i have set myself up well enough in my current dominion, i still harbour fond memories of the place.

>>97977678
there is no shame in admitting a bias. certainly i have feelings about innsbruck and austria overall, coming from being in the sphere of the house osmangolu. a part of why i never leave helllas these nights.
>>
How goes the battle for Winnipeg? When do I start spiking and who?
>>
>>97979898
Turk or native Greek born after the Ottoman conquest? In either case, while I was born in Österreich (in a village near Linz), I hardly have any real attachments these nights. I'm like a ghost to mortals, makes it hard to stay grounded with places and peoples. I don't begrudge others their... grudges, but I find it increasingly hard to relate.
>>
>>97981354
i never truly knew. one night i woke on a street in rags, midway through the 1600s, no memory of anything before. with how oft i fought against the powers that be then i always thought i was greek for all intents and purposes but... it would be a lie to say i don't miss having the assamites constantly trying to kill me. or being roped into fighting with them, at times. i do not respect my current neighbours the way i respect them.

yours is a common malady for our kind. one i have avoided by maintaining a kin-group of ghouls and a place on the fringe of camarilla society. if you find yourself in hellas, i will oblige you a few nights in the old crypt.
>>
>>97979285
Nice place, Kitten. Reminds me of this one spot that we shacked up in for about a week a couple of years ago; this old arcade/pool hall. Just add a human mural on a wall courtesy of Mateo and donations by some of the patrons - you know how Toreador are about their art.

bro, as a junior novice of noddist lore, like, 60% of modern clan politics descends from a tori-ventrue-tzimsice polycule getting out of hand and exploding.
your pretty screwed, but for some reason people really like the dragon push.
>>
Hi, first timer here. Been working as handyman and driver for a rural mansion of some really out of touch, really old money folks who came to the US of A out of western Ukraine, or a vampire movie more like. But they call me the vampire (vampir) while they are The Nobility® (Arystokratiya, Dvoryanstvo).
What's the difference between a vampire and a noble? Asking here cause all but their youngest don't like personal questions and act like everything's obvious.
>>
>>97981557
I appreciate the offer of hospitality. Have you ever deduced your clan? It certainly sounds as if you have unlived an interesting unlife.

I've always found the idea of respecting an enemy to be fascinating. I personally have never felt so inclined, but I do my best to avoid making enemies. I'm somewhat nonconfrontational by nature, I am a master of avoidance and evasion. In the very rare occasion where that is insufficient, I'll kill them in whatever manner is most effective. As for my malady, you don't know the half of it. A blessing and a curse.
>>
>>97983037
Sounds like a gaggle of especially pretentious Tzimisce if you ask me.
>>
>>97983122
>Tzimisce
So what are those? I better not say that word out loud even if I can't pronounce it. Oh and if I'm not one of them, whatever they are... what am I?
>>
>>97982537
What is this comic con? Why are vampires of multiple sects frequenting this presumably kine event? How did you even learn this person was a Tzimisce, let alone without providing your own clan?

>>97983037
I'm going to agree with >>97983122 and say Tzimisce are the likely candidates. Ventrue will let you know they're Ventrue and Lasombra would've beaten you thrice by now. Though it still makes little sense...

>>97983144
Oh god in heaven you have no idea what any of this is. How did you even find this place if you don't know what a vampire is?
>>
>>97979149
>almost like starting the MAD scenario is fucking stupid
I mean you were just bragging about holding the MAD files. I agree it is a bit silly, I can't blame the nossies, but I do think Cammies need to work together and not just in a 'as long as this further's my politics' kind of way. Pipe dreams, I know.
>>
>>97983158
>Lasombra would've beaten you thrice by now.
Um the wives of the lord of the house here manage and oversee of the servants, and they are evil. Straight up evil. I'm talking pre-Abe Lincoln evil.

His sons train swordplay too and use me as training dummy. They don't go easy, def not after I miraculously got a hit on one. All 3 jumped on me, then the lord is like: "If you want to kill him, do it in a formal single combat." Thanks boss also the hell is wrong with you all.

The turnover among the girls is high, but at least we have Ms. Rafastio who knows how to patch us and even set bones, but when I need her help she wants my physical intimacy as payment.
>Oh god in heaven you have no idea what any of this is. How did you even find this place if you don't know what a vampire is?
Sorry if I'm clueless. Most Orthodox Churches in the area are Greek, which Wikipedia tells me they belong to the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. Anyway one night I ask Fr. Gerasimos if he can pray for the soul of Zoryana, the daughter of our lord (lower case) cause she's the only Noble that's ever said "sorry" to me, and I just want her not to become a monster like the other ladies, and I'm not very religious or worthy so there's no need he prays for me.

Like one night a maid came to my room and she started stripping and pointing at her neck and I had no clue what she's up to, tho I freaked out thinking what happens if any of the ladies spots us, guess what, Raven-hair's already on the case, ordered us to go to the cell downstairs with Zoryana, handed her the "vhip" and told her to beat us with it. And Zoryana, bless her soul, said: "I'm sorry", "Forgive me" and so on after every lash, until another wife commanded her to shut up.

Anyway Fr. Gerasimos says he has to go to the crypt then he's back with a written note. He said that he'll be praying for both of our souls and that I may find advice, comfort, and maybe one day even freedom.

And that's how I found this website

First, would you mind if you answer some questions?

1: How precisely did you come into their employ?

2: Do you have a thirst for blood?

3: Are you alive? Does your heart beat, is your skin warm to the touch, can you still eat normal food, etc.

4: Do you feel an intense urge to sleep during the day? How about the "nobles"?

5: Do you have any proof the "wives" and "sons" are actually this lord's children?

>The Winnipeg "Situation" (Recap 1)
Alright. Before I begin with the recap of last night's events, I need you to keep something in mind: Loups are nuts.

>Before the real shitfest with the Sectarians began, everyone in the war council more or less agreed we needed to deal with the Loup Transplants first.
>I won't give you numbers for their protection, but there was one primary 'pack' that was an issue, the 'Silk-Biters' as I'll call them.
>Unpleasant lot, mostly due to a position similar to the 'sabbat-on-kine' views. But they were divided and hunting anything that moved.
>Now, let me tell you about 'Maddog.'
>I met Maddog in Cali, he's an odd creature closer to a coyote than a wolf. Expert troll. Wrestling enthusiast skilled in communications.
>We let him set up the plan to goad the local transplants and the unaffiliated into either joining our wave or simply agreeing to terms. This wasn't a mistake.
>But I kind of wish it was.
>Maddog set up a truly inflammatory challenge to the Silk-Biters, and managed to set up a wrestling ring to try and keep the fatality of this confrontation down.
>Hell most of us thought he'd been joking but technically dangling a sacred Klaivaskar over a ring does count for challenges.
>Now at some point this escalated into a whole 'thing' and I'm pretty sure we had a significant number of onlookers watching as we set this event up.
>I was due to be the one in, although we had 'tag team rules' and I had two Loups in on the side. To counter their three 'issues.' Big-Pipe-Club and Maddog.
>To older folks you might remember Big-Pipe-Club from the Marquette shit, but to more recent folks he is an old friend.
>Now as absurd as all this is, I need you to keep in mind our targets thought just the same. A 'Red Talon' boy, an older 'Shadow Lord' guy, and a behemoth 'Silver Fang' Matriarch. The last one couldn't even pass for human. Had wolf eyes even when she was walking on two feet. The Red Talon called it a farce.
>>
>>97983533

>But let me tell you. Maddog is good at goading.
>The older two fell for it hook line and sinker and they dragged their dissenter in.
>Older guy and I went into the ring first, with one of the Nosforatu (calls himself Weevil) vagabonds who followed us in acting as ref.
>It went raw immediately with the Shadow Lord (lets call him Cúigleáil) hitting me with a gut punch. And jumping to try and grab the blade hanging above the arena.
>I ankle grabbed him, and for some reason the safest place for me with a Loup is grappling them.
>Got so bad he tapped in the Matriarch to escape the choke.
>Pulled out myself and let Big-Pipe-Club in to take my place, he might have been older than her but he knew how to throw his weight around.
>And this went on for about an hour in a weird haze, until, well...
>Think it was Maddog in the ring at the time with the Red Talon. His heart wasn't in it and the Matriarch swapped in. Someone shouted something and she snapped.
>One moment there was a woman in there. The next there was a grizzly sized wolf with rabies.
>Loups DO NOT FRENZY, but they have a state like it. It is B A D bad, so run if you ever see this
>Everything went to shit, Big-Pipe-Club basically hurled Maddog out and 'frenzied' right back at the Matriarch, and I finally had a chance to get the Klaiviskar.
>Someone shot me in the head at that point.
>Don't know who.
>Might have been friendly fire thinking on it.
>Pulled out the worst of the Protean and hurled myself into the ring.
>Together him and I managed to kill the Matriarch in a fucking mess of claws and teeth, Cúigleáil fled when he realized he'd lost, and the Red Talon boy (who I'll call Laoch) was left holding the bag. He yielded, on ground his remaining pack be 'brought on.'
>Didn't have much choice but to accept.

Fucking gongshow man. Tomorrow we'll see if we can't sway the Anarchs.

>>97980864
See the above. And whenever you're ready Nïa. You have my number.
>>
>>97983418
>First, would you mind if you answer some questions?
Shoot.
>1: How precisely did you come into their employ?
In life I was a high schooler and quite a loser. One night I get hit in the head by this gangbangers laughing like hyenas. Next thing I know they're preparing for my live burial? One holding a book says: "Never dying, living on. You will walk forever in darkness." Another bonk and the next thing I hear or rather remember is "Thou wilt not die. Amen."
I find out I'm actually factually buried alive coffin and all, I punch my way out like I punched trees in Minecraft.
(the head butler told me this latter part of the story cause I don't remember it from that night)
I run through the city, it's raining, I'm more mud than man, the gang is chasing me, again with the laughing. I find this gate, I'm going insane ringing the doorbell, crying for help, one lightning strike, the lord appears, wraps me under his cloak and leads me inside.
The gang gets the hell out.
>2: Do you have a thirst for blood?
The maids give me blood to drink every single night, which I recently discovered it smells too much like animal blood. Cattle and goat blood is bland, I hate what I think is pig or at least wildboar's blood. Once per month the Nobles tie me up to a table in the cell downstairs (dunno why) and give me a small cup the good stuff, it's dense like honey and tastes even better.
They never let me inside the kitchen or wherever my food is prepared. I've never seen a Noble drink blood but I can't access their rooms and whatnot.
>3: Are you alive? Does your heart beat, is your skin warm to the touch, can you still eat normal food, etc.
No. Consistent with being what they call a vampir so far, isn't it?
>4: Do you feel an intense urge to sleep during the day? How about the "nobles"?
We all sleep during the day, I'm usually lying on the floor a few feet away from Zoryana's door.
>5: Do you have any proof the "wives" and "sons" are actually this lord's children?
No clue.
>>
>>97983593
*these gangbangers
Also let me clarify: the blood the maids give me nightly is usually in a bottle. I've never bit anyone, I don't want to hurt anyone.
>>
Hey, MeoMeo and H0T_G4R0US, I didn't offer my place to crash at initially as it's three hours out of town but my sire has scolded me for not offering my hospitality. If you don't mind the drive you can lay low here while you plan. I've got some cozy modern luxury coffins and they lock from the inside. I can stay in the guest room as I wouldn't want to interrupt the privacy of ladies.
>>
>>97983607
Oh you sweet precious fledgling you. Keep that heart, or someone will tear it out of you, one way or the other.

Yours is... Kind of an odd situation. Not impossible to discern though. You've been drafted into another layer of the world that operates on its own logic. A secret club united by a thirst for blood, alleged immortality, and varied forms of psychosis. Or outright curses. The only certainties of your reality are as followed.
>Blood is now water, food, meth, and ambrosia to you
>The night is yours but the day will absolutely turn you to dust
>Your existence is a threat if it becomes known, even to your 'peers' if you aren't careful
>So long as you aren't subjugated you have terrible potential

The rest... Varies, sadly. You've got much to learn.

>>97983671
Nïa?
>>
>>97983593
Right, well. That does clarify much. You are absolutely a vampire, and the good news is that the "Lord" and his household are as well. They're either a very eccentric brood that espouses some sort of pseudoscientific delineation between different types of vampires, or perhaps it's more about social class... or they're deliberately trying to make you think you're some sort of "lesser" vampire to keep you servile.

As for your embrace (that being our term for becoming a vampire), you were almost certainly turned by the Sabbat. The Sabbat are complicated, but the truncated version of it is that they're a loose confederation of vampire religious fundamentalists, supremacists, and barbarians. What you were to them, was "false sabbat", or as most call them, shovelheads. They'll take anyone they can grab, hit them over the head, and turn them. The purpose is to create cannon fodder, so that they might throw waves of fresh vampires at their enemies, which is typically anyone not in the Sabbat. Sounds to me like you gave them the slip, and managed out of sheer luck to find the haven of an elder. Or perhaps you were guided to that manor, it does seem very convenient, especially your lack of memory. Nevertheless, that the Sabbat didn't attack your Lord tells me that either he's very powerful and they're actually intelligent enough to not pick a fight with him... or he's in the Sabbat as well, and much higher in the pecking order.

Oh, and that thick and delicious blood they feed you once a month is probably vampire blood, or vitae. Drinking another vampire's blood slowly binds the drinker to that vampire's will. Typically by the third drink, you're constantly struggling against an unnatural compulsion to obey this vampire.

Lastly, you'll no doubt come to find that vampire politics are even more contentious and embittered than mortal politics. Only you can discern the absolute truth of your situation. I hope my context has been informative.

Wait, I didn't finish my story. Sometime after I'm inside the mansion, I wake up at dusk, in a luxurious bed, with clean clothes, and the lord is pouring the good stuff out of the bottle and giving me cup after cup till I'm sated. He casually says: "Decent self-control. Room for improvement."
Then for three whole nights it's your nerd's wet dream: a ren-faire where everyone is in superb period clothes, behaving like a decent human beings, the lord never leaves my side, I wear a full crimson armor and ride a horse with the man, I even shot a blunderbuss. And I can drink all the good stuff I want. Before the final dawn, the lord asks me countless questions, basically an oral recitation of my resume, my hobbies, my interests, then asks: "Would you like to work here?"

Reminder to everyone that once upon a time, this stupid Errand Knight wanted to become vampire knight with magical powers. Ugh.

On the fourth night, the madhouse goes back to normal, the maids and butlers no longer look like foreign royalty, the wives show me their collection of implements asking me if I want to try them with a bigger smile than they had during the 3-nighter, and for the first time I meet Zoryana. She, the head butler and Ms. Rafastio take turns telling me how the mansion really works.

Oh, if I don't mention the name of the other Nobles it's because I'm being kinda superstitious about it right now, they all introduced themselves tho.

>They're either a very eccentric brood that espouses some sort of pseudoscientific delineation between different types of vampires, or perhaps it's more about social class... or they're deliberately trying to make you think you're some sort of "lesser" vampire to keep you servile.
Are we the same? Are there differences between the vampires outside of political factions?
>Sabbat
>as most call them, shovelheads.
Suppose I have to drive Zoryana to a friend of the Nobles - a fellow Noble, let's say. Hypothetically speaking, of course. Right.
At some point I will introduce myself. Should I introduce myself as a Errand Knight of the mighty Sabbat, or Errand Knight the Shovelhead? Errand Knight the Vampir since that's what the Nobles call me? Will I make a fool of myself?
>the Sabbat didn't attack your Lord tells me that either he's very powerful and they're actually intelligent enough to not pick a fight with him... or he's in the Sabbat as well, and much higher in the pecking order.
How do I know which is which? I don't know who to trust anymore...

Theoretically any blood will, but human is the most easy to palate, though, I was 'raised' by the wilderness. Personal advice for when you free yourself of the yoke? Rely on animal blood and save human for emergencies. Also AVOID drinking vampire blood or other things, the side effects can be most dire.

>I mean don't we all know a vampire isn't supposed to meet the sun?
You would think so. But... Eh.

>You mean the Nobles?
No, I mean EVERYONE. There are normal people in the loop who hunt vampires. There are 'normal' people who tie up those of us with the Blood and keep us for the purposes of drinking. There are government and private agencies that do both of the above. There are 'lesser' vampires who will cannibalize you and there are 'greater' vampires who view you as a threat to their 'resources.'

>Well excuse me but I'm feeling pretty darn subjugated already in here. I mean what else do they have to do? When they tell me to do something my body does it. Even Zoryana.
Yea, that seems to be the case. However your bondage is temporary and I've learned a great deal about this.

Blood bonds as they are called take many forms, but you retain your lucidity. Others are not so lucky. My one adoptive companion was brought into a group called the 'Tremere' as a 'Gargoyle.' Bound by the blood he was utterly devoted to his handlers and oblivious to their political machinations. Until he was beaten into the sleep called Torpor, and shoved in a closet for a few decades.

So long as you retain this lucidity you have the ability to plan. Find a position of weakness, and escape. There are means to break the bond, and given time, the effects will fade.

We are all fools. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Is that the reason they time me up before each dose? My last dose was yesternight.

The lord stopped talking to me and doesn't seem to register my existence after those 3 nights of intensive hospitality, like he lost all interest, if he needs something done, one of the wives will tell me. None of the wives and sons treat me like I have human rights.
But I think I might be developing feelings for Zoryana, is this going to be a problem?

By all means, gun is a good boy and I've always wanted to meet a Tremere and see if my clan's hatred of them is founded or not. I've got an open mind. I've heard of Tremere's diablerie of Saulot but I don't believe in "the sins of the father" and all that. Individuals are individuals.

Does clay count? The topsoil here is only about ten inches and below that is typical Manitoba gumbo. But I got fourty acres of mostly bush, dig whatever you need to dig if it works for you.

There are two primary ones. One is obviously you panicking and trying to flee, but some people go into a Frenzy.

A manic state of raw instinct and enhanced power, that you could potentially overpower your current subjugator. It is mentally debilitating, but in my case it can physically degrade me. I can't open my mouth too wide now, unless I want people to see horror show teeth. Something you shouldn't have to worry about overmuch. Unless your siring is even more convoluted than it seems.

Also, while I'm on this, if you drink a vampire outright the process is dangerously addictive and can corrode your soul. Or outright annihilate you. J

>The Rest
Typical old feudal bullshit. Because of that stuff we've had several revolutions and constant upheaval.

And... Probably? It depends on how you want to handle this, little hedge knight. Planning for one person to escape a blood bond situation is hard, but not impossible. I know several people who succeeded in leaving some of the most restrictive societies that we have. But two... Complicates matters. Depends on how you want to act on it I guess.

>>97984254
Then we shall make the journey tonight. I expect Trelaine to flake and I've gotten some reports the Sabbat might be fracturing. Best to take a step back, maybe, see what happens now after that circus. And that's mindset doubly good, considering the 'Sorcerer' is quadruple cursed with inherited sins. Gün will be happy to hear the news too.

And the good old marsh will suffice. It is... Groddy but polite, I guess? Hard to explain.

>And the good old marsh will suffice. It is... Groddy but polite, I guess? Hard to explain.
It's not exactly marsh (although the water content is always high this time of year) but hard, sticky clay. Anything you dig should hold up rather well even without shoring.

>>97983987
>Are we the same? Are there differences between the vampires outside of political factions?
More similar than dissimilar. Most vampires are from one of several stable lineages called Clans, minor lineages of unclear origin are called Bloodlines. Not all clans are equal, some are much larger in numbers, others hold more power. Clans have congenital traits, such as affinity for certain Disciplines, that being what we call our vampire powers. They also share curses. In addition, there are vampires without clans, Caitiff. This term is confusing since it is used interchangeably for vampires that do not exhibit the traits of their lineage AND vampires that are ignorant to their lineage, such as yourself. Even though the two correlate, they are not always the same.

>At some point I will introduce myself.
Only do so if prompted. If your master truly believes you to be some form of lesser vampire, I would act servile around his associates until you can put more pieces of this puzzle together. Do not use the term Sabbat or Shovelhead or any term you have heard from us, because then your lord will be suspicious. If you are truly blood bound, and he asks, you'll likely feel an overwhelming urge to tell him the truth.

>How do I know which is which? I don't know who to trust anymore...
Keep your ears open. Listen for certain words such as Vaulderie, Cainite, Antediluvian, Gehenna, or any reference of religious titles in a not explicitly religious context. On the other hand, if you hear the terms Kindred, Elysium, Primogen, or Prince, you're likely dealing with the other major vampire political organization, the Camarilla. There's also a very real chance this lord is completely independent, though you usually need to be in a backwater or very powerful to pull that off. Or both.

Don't trust any vampire. Not even us. We all have our own biases and agendas. Whatever you read here, try to confirm it independently.
>>
>>97983987

>I've always found the idea of respecting an enemy to be fascinating.
it comes from the time period. anatolia and the lower balkans were a hotbed of banu haqim and latin kindred meddling before the empire fell. constant skirmishes and cautious war rather than a ruinous onslaught. when you first avoided being wiped out by the gazi, it was terrifying. but then you end up returning the favour, exchanging words, even meeting diplomatically or fighting together at times.

You have some time for the moment. Think carefully and check her intentions, and don't bow your cover.

>Koldun
Oh boy that's... Rarely great. Koldun refers to a powerful sort of blood sorcery that I know of, invoking spirits. A tool originating from some of the most potent of our world. Tzimsce. Dragons. I am a practitioner of a variant of the Koldun, and we have another though he seems to be throttling a dude down in the deep south.

Have you got any context information?

>I noticed. And you guys aren't? Whoever it was that did it, I didn't ask for this.
In a way, though I'll give stripper her flowers and the blood infused champagne, a portion of the sect believes in the genuine liberation of vampire society from the corrosive old chains of their rivals. The Camarilla, which has its claws in almost everything.

There is a reason why you and yours might consider them. They possess a relic that can break the blood bond. I know, I possess one for my own purposes.
>>
>>97983158
>What is this comic con? Why are vampires of multiple sects frequenting this presumably kine event? How did you even learn this person was a Tzimisce, let alone without providing your own clan?
Funnily enough my sire and some of the fellow Nosferatus have discussed this. They told me that things seem to be getting more and more 'lax' about Clans and allegiances these days, that there's a lot more of what does he call it, 'antitribu' and that newer kindred are overall way more lax about clan identity, grudges and all that. Guess that human atomization and death of culture carries over into our undeath for those embraced in the 21st century. Lot more clan mingling and a lot more vamps of once-Sabbat clans not being Sabbat anymore it seems.
>>
>>97984840
>Can I know my traits or the Nobles'?
To a degree. Every clan has an additional weakness, some more obvious than others. Nosferatu are monstrous in form. Tzimisce, who I now further suspect your Lord to be, must sleep with soil from their homeland, else their powers will slip away. If you want to figure out your own lineage, start with what powers you have.

>I may be lost in translation, but I've heard "koldun."
This is a Tzimisce term, it's their word for sorcerer, to my understanding. They practice a specific type of magic distinct from typical vampire disciplines. Tzimisce are typically in the Sabbat, but some are independent.

>Now this is a headache and a half.
Welcome to unlife, childe. Everyone has their biases, and their agendas, as you can see from someone claiming to be Sabbat. Obviously, they are more favorable to the organization than I am. I will be honest with you, I consider the Sabbat to be the lowest form of vampire. They're wantons and murderers, and the more deluded or insidious ones justify it through appeals to a coming apocalypse, or paranoid conspiracies about world-ending Antediluvians. It's a lie, even if some believe it. It's just an excuse to indulge their darker urges. I would not suggest you join them, even though their rite can shatter the blood bond.

Before you make any choice, I'd suggest you ask yourself what exactly you want. Figure out what you want before you take any drastic action. Keep your head down and learn. Good luck, I am happy to answer your questions, but you need to make your own decisions.

This is certainly news to me. Even with other vampires I'm hardly a socialite, but this is the first time I've heard such claims. Sounds like a great way to get picked off by slightly older neonates with less shall we say open minds.
>>
>>97985510
Well it is all relative. Of course there's still clan shit its just my sire pointed out that, compared to say 100 years ago there was a time when certain clans were very strictly hardline in embracing from specific ethnic groups, religions or social classes and he consider it to be way more loose amongst the current gen of vampire. Back in his day more than 3/4 of vamps would fit those stereotypes he tells me. Relative to the time he was embraced there's a general trend toward what he calls 'absolutely queer' Kindred and he doesn't mean in the way they swing he mean in the sense that he finds them odd for not fitting clan stereotypes or at least those in his head. He seems to find Kindred embraced in the 21st century to be quite 'libertine'. How true this is overall....meh I don't know because I don't travel but I wouldn't find it THAT implausible to think the youngest generation of Kindred is a lot more loose with their clan image, expectation and in some cases loyalties because that follow the general trend of the mortal society we came from where people mix all the time.

It might just be 'libertine' by the standards of older vamps. Or it could be some people are actually lying about their clans and affiliation to sound more interesting. Mortals do lie a lot in the social media age to present a 'cooler' image after all so it could be that!

I decided I would tell the first wife of the lord I meet I want to serve him better. Cue Redhead. She went: "Do vhat you're told. Fail and you die." I didn't want to play this card so soon, but I told her the lord mentioned room for improvement, and I wanna be able to protect an important passenger or cargo if I'm attacked away from the mansion.
Redhead calls the daughter of the lord, Zoryana, who comes back with a Mosin-Nagant rifle, and organizes a shooting class since I had swordplay beaten in me by the sons. Redhead asks if she forgot anything important, Zoryana rolls her eyes in frustration and gets a riding crop from the stable. At least it fits the role of a military instructor better than her dress.

I only used guns in videogames. I watch a tutorial on YouTube and shoot those steel targets. Guns are loud and make tons of smoke. Thru all the class Zoryana goes: "Faster! Faster! Faster!" tapping the crop on her hand.

In the fifth round of practice, she says: "Imagine a favorable wind." I watch her with the side of my eye do this strange pose with her raised arms in a V shape, then forms an X in front of her chest. Guess I had to really imagine the wind cause there wasn't a blade of grass moving. I say nothing and focus on the shooting.

Before the last round she points with the crop and exclaims: "Twelve o' clock! Waffen-SS!" I swear to God I was firing faster than the pros I saw on YouTube.
She corrected me when I yelled: "For the Motherland!", turns out it's actually Fatherland...

Zoryana asks me how I feel. I'm like: "I think I am ready to die for you, Zoryana." She doesn't like it, rips the rifle off my hands and throws it away, screams: "No! No one won a war by dying! Don't die for Zoryana! Survive for Zoryana! Endure for Zoyrana! Suffer for Zoryana! Live for Zoryana! Kill for Zoryana!" With every verb she says, she hits me with the riding crop, and there is anguish in her words, anguish that hits me much harder.
She pulls my hair and whispers in my ear: "Be patient. The wives of the lord are watching. They expect me to whip you into shape, literally. I don't believe in these teaching methods anymore, I should say I'm sorry - just not this time. This one time I am not sorry because I mean every word I just said. We've been drafted into a war and I have no intention of losing, soldier."
I felt miserable and tried to de-escalate and apologize. Zoryana doesn't deserve to feel any negative emotion. All things considered, this is easier on the body than fencing with the sons. But if we're at war, won't someone tell me what are the objectives? General strategy? Victory conditions? The darn enemy? Our own forces and allies?

Once we're back inside the mansion I thank Zoryana, and Redhead, for the lesson and discipline. I think something changed in me. Besides dying, I mean. I used to swear like a sailor, now I don't, I was clumsy now I can do this? So to change the topic, I ask them how did I become so fast with a gun in such short notice. And accurate.
Redhead licks her fangs and says, cackling: "Look for ansver in your blood, vampir." Then I ask: "Am I a vampir because I was turned by another vampir, not by a Noble?" Redhead grins and confirms that my blood is 'impure and inferior.' Zoryana shakes her head.

Eh, I don't actually speak any Slavic language. Since she did the closest thing to magic I saw so far, I asked Ms. Rafastio if what she uses to heal me is this koldun thing the Nobles mentioned many times. She says what she uses is something more ancient. >Do these Tzimsce or Tzimisce have more powers or weaknesses I should know?
I'm a Tzimisce but I must explain there is the old clan and the new clan. The old clan eschews the use of the new clan's signature discipline, "vicissitude" or "fleshcrafting". The old clan tends to use koldunism instead, but these are not hard and fast rules. Some old clan use vicissitude, some new clan use koldunism. Only with both can a Tzimisce craft the greatest of fleshcrafted creations, the "vozhd" or "war ghouls", massive creatures made of several fused subjects. I have a hunch your masters are of the old clan based on that, but be careful, being fleshcrafted is painful and horrifying. I am of the new clan myself, and I like to make Pokémon out of animals I befriend. As for weaknesses, I'd be a fool to share information that could endanger my brothers and sisters, so you'll have to find that out on your own or from someone else.
>>
>>97988611
I don't think I've seen animals resembling Pokemon (huh?) or people being tortured by having their flesh "crafted" or bodies fused anywhere. The Nobles use more mundane instruments of torture.
So this house belongs to the Tzimisce of the old clan, who went from Ukraine to Virginia Hunt Country then. I think this means the soil was moved over too. Do old clanners usually think themselves superior to other vampires?
OK the next riddle is what am I, then how to escape this "plantation."
