Now that 10th edition is almost over, what was the deal with GW promising it would be a "less lethal" edition with "less re-rolls" but the very first thing they revealed about it was Space Marines getting full re-rolls against one enemy unit every turn for the entire game?
>>97984925The deal of you posting your minis.
>>97986617Care to post your minis first with a timestamp so we know you aren't being a troll?
>>97986624You first.
>>97984925GW books are written long before they are published. This means that most of the 10E books were written while everyone was still playing 9E, meaning they were written before everyone realised how shitty the game was.GW therefore promised lower lethality because they knew its what people wanted to hear, despite knowing full well that the books were already finalised with all the shit of 10E.In exactly the same way that most 11E books have already been written before they can collect any feedback about the games problems.
>>97986674Alright now it is your turn. I've gone for something more authentic looking.Excuses will be an act of concession.Goalpost movements will be an act of concession.Silence will be an act of concession.
>>97986715So what can we expect from 11e supposedly being a “more narrative” edition?
>>97986770Is that the new techpriest engiseer? I only got the old metal one on the 25mm base.
>>97987324More soulless tournament focused meta.
>>97984925I hate re-rolls. There is already too much dice rolling in James' Games as is. They just slow shit down and subject critical rolls to review, like the VAR of gaming.
>>97984925>Commander in fancy terminator armour with a sword and cool gun.>Ten man tactical squad with a heavy weapons guy, a special weapons guy, and a sergeant with half-special weapon and a banner.>Dreadnought in the rear to act as heavy weapons support.>Bits of mk6 and 7 visible. Every marine is unique with different power packs, helmets, bodies and legs. Mk8 is present, but only for the sergeant as it's hard to produce.God I miss when warhammer was this kino.
>>97987544Space marines got so fucked its not even funny>lore destroyed beyond repair with primaries>redesigned into the most bland version possible ignoring established things like SM using different armor pieces >Aggressor armor And now they just go back to more classic designs but with primaris shit sprinkled in, meanwhile armies like CSM/Eldar/tyranids got simply updates and a few new things
>>97987544The Horus Heresy will announce its Scouring expansion with refreshed Mk.VII Marines and pre-Primaris vehicles any day now, I can feel it.
>>97986770he disappeared lmao
>>97987544>>97987611The popularity of HH 1e pretty much directly led to Primaris specialisation and the loss of heavy/special weapons in squads.
>>97987324They removed Crusade so there's no narrative campaign play. It's looking grim.
>>97987755Please understand, they are a small indie company and they had to pay at least one intern to write the Crusade bits.
>>97987755Genuine question, why not just carry on playing Crusade anyway but with 11e battles? Or even grabbing campaign materials from even older editions? Narrative play assumes extra legwork and investment on the part of the players regardless so what's stopping someone from grabbing a campaign from like 4th edition and fighting the scenarios with current armies?
>>97987800Because having a standardized system to handle a persistent roster, XP and upgrades is a lot better to organize a group than having to half ass everything by yourself and make everyone agree to it.
>>97987811A lot of people seem to be acting as though narrative play outside of crusade literally does not exist, which is pretty fucking retarded.
>>97988159That's the usual extent of paypigs. If it's not a product on sale, it doesn't exist.
>>97988159No but having one out of the box in every rulebook helps with organizing things. The more friction the more people drop out.
>>97987544>models would be mocked for actual play in 5/7 editions because they didn't have the endurance or punch>aesthetics faggots who never bought a mini talking again>>97986770TPBP
>>97984925The 'deal' was to get you to buy yet another fucking edition, instead of happily playing the one you had already paid for. As will 11th ed, 12th, 13th, etc.
>>97986617>>97986770What's with fags on /tg/ these days asking you to post your minis every time someone dares to criticize GW? They never post back if you do, so clearly they don't participate in the hobby either.
>>97988827It's just a butthurt loser looking for attention while derailing a genuine thread. It's the same as "traditional games?" On any thread that doesn't specify a system but broader genre trends and cliches.
>>97988827I haven't actually played a game of 40k in years and my armies are in storage at my mom's house. I keep planning on buying some shelves so that I can move them here but I always end up just spending my extra money on beers.
>>97988885Well anon, sounds like you don’t care that much about your minis then, since you seem to prefer beer over them…
>>97988981It's called beer and pretzel games for a reason.
>>97988981Drinking alcohol is the only thing keeping me sane in a job that I hate.
>>97987344No it is one of the old metal ones. I put on a 32mm slotted base. >>97987623>>97988430>>97988827It is the new "You missed the general" phrase. Admittedly /40kg/ is an awful mess so naturally people who want to talk about 40k will try to talk about it elsewhere. So that's why it is a bit annoying when trolls come in to try and derail discussion. Anyways you all have my consent, permission and blessing to archive link my model post if you see the troll asking for models to remind everyone that it is a genuine troll who won't post models in return.
>>97987613Cannot be done before 11th fll kit release for the nutacticals, else even less people would buy some.
>>97984925>Less LethalWhat GW thinks will happen:>Space Marines are closer to their TTRPG performance and will kick better ass in the name of their main buyers' demographicWhat will actually happen>Space Marines get bogged down in more tarpits who are now an absolute pain in the ass to resolve.
>>97990687God, how fucking horrible.Imagine if horde armies were actually playable and you actually had a reason to ever take anti infantry weapons like Heavy Bolters.
>>97991190I like how this is worded like blobby lists haven't been viable once in recent memory.
>>97984925Fewer.
