My thing is, it would have been easier for WOTC and Dan to say this is just a concept, and it is not the final production art. Instead they’ve both dug themselves into a deeper hole. Also, Donato Giancola has said in Facebook posts that Dan and WOTC had been going back and forth on concepts and couldn’t agree on a concept. goodwill pull, obviously didnt have the decks that came with the box.. but it has a random assortment of white border junk 7th ED and earlier, which is my preferred era in terms of border and art so i'll take the junk, and if nothing else the box itself is extremely awesome, came with the little black bag with the fishtank style pebble tokens, and the literature inside was all in tact and good shape (duelist + rulebook)
most valuable cards in it are goblin raiders 2ps, and library of leng, with a decent stack of 15ish cards being between $1-5.. thought i'd share with you guys.

You know the real reason they got rid of the sample pack? They didn't want to, it was a great way to tempt people into paypigging for $40 boosters, classic "first one's free" strategy. They had to get rid of them because of Final Fantasy. Scalpers bought up the decks, cracked the packs to sell the borderless cards at a profit, and then listed the decks on tcgplayer to squeeze more money out of it. They labelled them as unopened because the deck itself is still in the plastic wrap and that's what the listing is for, not the bonuses in the box. Anytime you bought supposedly new product online you were risking getting one of these, and WotC got flooded with complaints of missing sample boosters. >>97992127The hard rules don't necessarly determine power level. All of my decks by hard rules are 1/2, but can easily take on 3s, and some 4s, so the decks are 3s. Your decks may be 3s by hard rules, but if they are very consistantly winning against other 3s, I'd say they are actually 4s, so I would say either play with 4s, or follow 2 or 1's hard rules instead, and end up with actual 3s.
