Do you think GW has blown their load too early for 11th? Have they shown us too many rules? How do we sustain enough hype and FOMO to last us the remaining 6 weeks to the edition's release?
>>97988511I think you should post your minis.
>>97988538Apply for mod or fuck off dude
>>97988538>Traditional games?>Post your minis>Puckee threadThe three horsemen of killing /tg/. Disengaging with a rote response learned from a cargo cult. We used to talk, here.
>>97988566We also used to have real threads
>>979885664th horseman>Constant shilling and advertising of tired old franchises.
>>97988566We also used to not be terrified of telling stories, we used to be open to considering ideas that weren't already safely in our own worldview. Because that's kind of the problem with modern /tg/, hell 4chan as a whole these days. It's just retards baiting each other back and forth forever, afraid to have anything resembling a genuine discussion despite having literally nothing to lose on an anonymous Mongolian basket weaving site.
>>97988798Yeah it is like the modalities of non-anonymous social media have been adopted into an anonymous forum. Status and groupthink should be totally irrelevant here.
>>97988798Ive been on 4chan for 20 years and I agree it was better back then.
>>97988810Honestly you have a genuine point. These canned phrases we see everywhere are basically the equivalent of one guy getting butthurt on Reddit and downvoting every post he can find. It doesn't really matter in the end, but it does annoy people. And when you get annoyed over and over you're probably gonna just give up trying to be genuine.
>>97988856Some of these fuckers already admitted they do it just because they're butthurt about something that happened maybe years ago, so yeah.
>>97988566>noooo, stop noticiiiiing!Fuck off, preferably forever.
>>97988511>How do we sustain enough hype and FOMO to last us the remaining 6 weeksI don't know what manner of beings nas been replacing humans lately, but I don't like it.
>>97988538One anon did and you or your kind still haven't posted your minis in return.>>97986770
>>97989285The only way I can understand the FOMO mentality is that if you are on the fence and don't buy right away, you are still likely to find even limited releases later, but you inevitably have to pay much more.
>>97988566Puckee threads deserve ridicule, they're made by a literal redditor spammer with basically zero game discussions
>>97988798The moderation did this, it's entirely on them.
>>97990168Whoa anon that looks off topic!
>>97988511>muh hype!this doesn't need to be a box that sells out within the first week or even monthits the starter box for the entire edition, and will be the go to box for newcomers and their friends
>>97988798for what's it worth, sentiments like yours are still expressed fairly often heremaybe even increasingly oftenso there is a force within 4chan pushing back against thought-terminating cliches and clinical disengagementthere's hope yet for improvement
>>97988798>Because that's kind of the problem with modern /tg/, hell 4chan as a whole these dayMore like that is the issue with every online space now days. People are terrified how others perceive them so everything has to wrapped in twelve layers of irony in case someone replies to them with a "blud actually cares about a thing :wilted_rose: :skull: "
>>97988511I wouldn't say so. I can only speak for myself, but i find the contents of the new box quite underwhelming. Marines are boring, and i just dont care about Orks. If there had been Chaos, Tau or Dark Eldar (or nids, but ofc we just had those) instead of Orks, i would be looking forward to the launch, no matter how early they reveiled the contents. I might pick up the hardcover book with the lore individually on ebay, but thats it.
You're upset at the thought of 'hype' not being sustained? Is it like a drug to you?
>>97988566Actually, forcing people to post minis is how you gatekeep tourists.Because painting your miniatures shows the bare minimum level of investment required to give a fuck about your opinion. It doesn't even matter what it is; you could paint the dog from your monopoly set.But no paint on plastic = not a person.
>>97993588>bare minimum level of investment required to give a fuck about your opinionhow about you show the bare minimum of investment by asking actually relevant questions?the issue isn't anons asking for people to put in the effortthe issue is the question is a lazy, useless non sequitur that hypocritically took no effort on the part of the askerand calling it "gatekeeping" is now the universal way of papering over anon's own failings by pretending everything they do is a test of character, regardless of whether it actually helps the cause or not
>>97993588Glad that we agree, by your own metrics, that we shouldn't give a fuck about your opinion
>>97992890Marines vs Orks is the classic match up for me, so I don't mind, but yeah, the tacticals refresh could have been better. Surprised by the land speeder I guess, and Orks getting stuff at all is nice to see. Starters with chaos are cursed and chaos is shoehorned everywhere anyway, we've been getting two big releases already. A starter with Tau would be a first I guess.>dark eldarCraftworlders have been refreshed almost entirely, so their time will come sooner or later.
>>97992046Chances are the big box will be a limited release and then the true edition-long starter sets have less stuff in them. It kinda makes sense in a way, sadly. A newcomer may want to spend less and have less models to assemble and paint when starting out to avoid being overwhelmed.
>>97988695you're right I would also like to see less dnd slop on here
