Looking for a neat Balkan styled fantasy setting or game>it's all grim derp or just vaguely balkanis there any good settings that are trying to at least mimic the balkans? and by that i also mean having greek/roman stuff and the central europe stuff...it's the same when i looked for slavic settings only for it to be only russian stuff desu kinda boring... also im fine with low fantasy but i just hate it when low fantasy = LE DARK!
>>97992833>suitable for the dangerous, gritty feel of the Balkanslmfao even google knows
>>97992913well we do have underground stuff where turks died by serb hands
>>97992833Have you considered finding a game with mechanics you like and then stripping the lore and making your own?
>>97993075yes
>>97992833That once setting with the cybobite robots from the future who decided to invade reality because they already conquered their own universe from the future.
>>97992833>mimic the BalkansWhat historic era do you have in mind? If yo look for a medieval feel with legends and secrets, Ars Magica with Against the Dark and The Sundered Eagle is actually a good idea.
>I don't get it, why is the modern media output of eastern europe and the balkans so dark? Did something happen there?
>>97993163Now that I think about it, if you look for an early modern period, Helvéczia might be worth checking out. The setting is not!Switzerland, but the author is Hungarian, so there's a healthy dose of Balkan-inspired stuff hiding in those mountains.
>>97992833You want to play WFRP second edition with renegade crowns, OP
>>97993270Similarly could probably use Vaesen for like 20's era stuff.
