Generals are not supposed to be cages. They're not supposed to be "OH LET ME GOOGLE THAT FOR YOU" depositories. They're not supposed to be private hangouts or subreddits.

The original and only good purpose of generals is consolidating what would have otherwise been dozens of individual threads about particularly popular topics. All other questions, news, and discussion can and should be free flowing and part of a churning mess. That's how it was during the best years of /tg/.

Now, it's small cliques erecting walls and creating dead threads that just linger on this board. They're not making generals for popular topics that would threaten to overwhelm the board otherwise, they're making generals in a fake-it-till-you-make-it style that's created a culture that feels fake and artificial.

You have this weird shitty idea that discussion here has to be centered around a particular game for it to have meaning, and, frankly, that's an incredibly shallow manner of thinking that reveals what kind of retard you are.
