I want to run a game for my friends where I have them go through a classic fantasy dungeon with an almost board game level of rigidity, but still with some open ended tabletop stuff. I want it to feel like a game, less like an improv exerciseWhat system should I use? Some OSR? Modified 5e? Something else?

>>98008647play BX. its the best for this as it had procedural rules for dungeon exploration
>>98008647Warhammer Quest. The old one. Its free in the right places.
>>98008671Eh, seems a bit annoying>>98008712Be honest with me, does Old School hold up?>>98008935Ive had enough warhammer
>>98009339>does Old School hold uphold up? its amazing. Ive been playing OSE (BX) for three years of weekly games and I love it. Easy to learn, infinitely playable
>>98009446Ok, im convincedDo you recommend classic or advanced OSE?
>>98009478I paid for hard copies but honestly I wish I bought classic instead. Advanced doesnt offer more "rules" just more classes/races, thats it. Classic OSE will be just fine, the the online SRD works quite well.Just be advised that OSE doesnt contain play examples, so be sure to read the actual 1981 Moldvay BX as well.
>>98009788Copped a classic bookStoked
>>98009887cheers m8, FAG on!Dont forget to play totally by the rules, even if it doesnt make sense at first. It will click eventually
