What is the most evil or violent thing a player character has done at your table?
>>98009797And on top of this, where is your personal line for PC atrocities?
>>98009797probably the classic "randomly attack, kill, and burn down the village">where is your personal line for PC atrocities?there's not really a line for it outside of what's actually fun to play out and, y'know, has a point in the game
>>98009797I was playing as a deep lore crab alien bounty hunter in a Star Wars campaign and my character tortured the Bothan that had killed his father years before with a darkstick, fusion cutter and vibroblade before forcing a coral implant onto him to make him my ship slave (we found a cache of Vong biotech on a derelict ship in the Unknown Regions)
>>98009797>What is the most evil or violent thing a player character has done at your table?Your mother.
>>98009797Murdered a six year old boy to conceal his presence.Drowned him in a pool of water and wedged his body under a log.
Once I had someone play a paladin. It was the start of the campaign, the first dungeon. The party found two humans in the third or fourth or so chamber they explored. The humans did not notice them right away. To my surprise the paladin decided immediately to load up his heavy crossbow and shoot one of the two strangers. The hit was critical, and death was instant. These people were just impoverished scavengers. I never had a paladin fall from grace before, let alone this instantly. He was an experienced player too. Maybe he just wanted to play a different character.
Probably order the extermination of the whole adult male population (except for architects, skilled craftsmen, and engineers), enslave the woman and children. But they were warned that resistance would lead to that outcome and it is a common enough policy during war. Also, he allowed some to escape to warn others of the price of resitance.
No character can do anything at any table, because they don't exist.Players can decide their characters do things in their games, but characters have no agency in our own world.
Raped the corpse of a young dude (possibly a teenager?) off screen after we sent him to trigger a trap for us. The group went ahead to investigate what the trap was protecting, while That Guy told us to "Give him a minute." It was implied and supposed to be funny (the overall tone of the campaign was a bit goofy, we were essentially the evil version of the A-Team in a medieval fantasy setting), but the joke didn't really land. Because the joke was just "lmao what if I fuck him? XD"That Guy never knew how to actually make a joke without aping another player. And since we were all evil guys bullying villagers for fun as the pulpy comic book villains that we were, he apparently thought doubling down and fucking a corpse of someone we sent to die was funny? I don't know.
>>98010187>Also, he allowed some to escape to warn others of the price of resitance.Look at the mayor of Niceville over here.
>>98010270how is that funny? "I sent a kid to this death to get some loot. Rather then honor the kid or at least leave the body be, wouldn't it be funny if I rape them for the lulz?" Sounds like he fucked in the head. I can get the dark humor but, there is failing a joke and the this is screaming that they might need to be put in a "self-hugging" jacket and sent away.
>>98010270It's a poor joke without a setup.>>98010288The way you make it work, is you have your character making passes at them while they are still alive. Then when you declare "It's still warm!" it's a setup with a payoff.
>>98010288Like I said, the guy doesn't know how to be funny. I think he confused pulpy saturday morning villainy with being as edgy as humanly possible. From what I recall, the PC's major character traits were acting gay (as a joke?) and holding a trumpet to his ass when celebrating.
>hihi I murder the child and rape his corpse isnt this funnyDo RPG fags really?
>>98009797Party took down a werewolf, who then de-transformed into a comatose elven woman. Party didn't have a way to wake her up, so we left one guy behind to keep watch while we went to search for other clues to the werewolf infestation.>she woke up midway through the day>guy we left behind decided to torture her for info>she's confused, terrified, and talking a different language>not that he'd know>tries to make her spit out info, threatening her more every time she didn't make sense>not that she could get what he wanted>starts breaking her fingers one by one>only pausing to let her ramble on>not that it means anything to him>runs out of fingers, runs out of toes>gives up on getting info, stabs her through the eye>sets the base on fire to hide the evidence>just leaves to rejoin the party>he got absolutely nothing out of the interrogation>no shit, he's literally a deafmuteThat's probably the most violent thing he did in the game, but I'm not sure if most evil. He later killed himself to reroll a psychic master and went around mindscrambling or vaporizing NPCs, causing untraceable mass destruction, etc. Last thing I remember before dropping out was him brainwashing a nymph into being his sex slave and dragging her out of her elemental realm, which turned her into a paraplegic vegetable.
>>98010312No, that order spoils the fun.
>>98010307Sounds like the dude was in the closet or something.
>>98010312For what it's worth, we don't play with the guy anymore. On top of being unfunny and unable to read the room, he's also utterly passive in any serious scenario that isn't combat, and _extremely_ flakey.
>>98010330He has two kids now. Don't ask me. I still chalk his behaviour up as having the humour of an edgy teen.
>>98010291To be fair, that works. Dark as a black hole, but works. More of that WTF but you get the joke and if they can pull off the timing and all could get a laugh out of people compare to a random fade to black. The whole people is to other make it clear, or get caught in the act or hopefully just before. (Also getting some STD cause of raping the kid might get a rise.)
>>98010320>>no shit, he's literally a deafmuteLmao, that's hillarious. It's like a Monty Python joke, but actually funny.
>>98010339I hope so for the kids sake. I mean had some edgy humor and might say I still have that teen like humor but raping a dead kid..... You got to have some S-tier setup for it to work even then it a black humor type of thing. Rape can work for shocking, and serious event in a backstory and all. However trying to make it "LOL rape is funny" only tends to work in the don't drop the soap prison gag type of way. Maybe teasing the Priest or Public school teacher trying to rape the kid. (Though often that's a woke white women trying to make a pretty tomboy a trans forst. Or the loner sissy boy into a drag to pimp out like in real life.)
>>98009802You can do whatever, as long as you don't derail half a session to do it. Torturing an imprisoned goblin is fine, but he's not going to tell you anything more interesting if you want to spend more than two seconds on it.
>>98009797This is an entire party, but I feel it's justified. There's a module called 'The God that Crawls', where a group of villagers lure the PCs into a dungeon to be devoured by an unkillable monster. After we escaped, we were so pissed that we spent the next session butchering everyone in the village. The survivors were herded into the church, which we set on fire with flasks of flaming oil, after barring the doors so no-one could escape. Normally we wouldn't have lost our shit like that, but the dungeon was deadly. It was filled with all kinds of weird nonsense, and to this day I'm still not sure what the fuck was going on down there.
I'm spoiling it out because it might hurt the sensibilities of many peopleNot use coasters
>>98009797I once nuked a city from orbit because its leaders thought they could take me hostage and didn't know what a space ship was.
>>98010509Death sentence.
Used city orphans as cannon fodder to pickpocket and stuff, knowing they had an high chance of being lashed, knifed, mutilated and hanged (still lower than adult criminals but still). To be fair, their lives would have been worse, being sold as slave, reduced to begging and prostitution, dying of disease, exposure, and starvation, or sent to a workhouse or an orphanage where they would have died for sure.
>>98010624That's like what most orphans did. Nothing too evil about that, I mean everyone used orphans as free or cheap labor. Rarely would they be able to find someone to take care of them like their own. Often if they were lucky a family friend would make them their servant. often a aunt or uncle would take over the family farm and other cast out his brother/sister's kids or let them stay as help more than as family.
not the most evil thing but surprisingly realistic>lancer game>merc campaign>wohoo money and space cocaine>players get involved in a multi-session long mission in some shithole that just collapsed into a patchwork of barely standing nation states and balkanized little shitholes>after sabotaging several ammunition depots and conducting a spearhead type of attack, around 20 mech pilots surrender to them (which by the standard of that shithole and the ll1 party its quite a big deal)>as they examine them and interrogate them, one of them is secretly holding an smg>whips it out, make a not so rule as written roll off with a player character>player wins and sprays into the line of surrendering pilots gunning them all down>awkward laughs followthey also fired a rocket at an apc taking potshots at their fob and didnt bother to finish off/aid the surviving crew climbing out on fire, which is something i think happened to my dad when deployed in kosovo lmao
>>98010509Life-long exile.
I don’t know I generally play extremely true-neutral characters. One time I threw a party member off a boat, but that’s about it.
>>98010810>>player wins and sprays into the line of surrendering pilots gunning them all downI mean, given the circumstances, that just seems like an understandable accident. A POW fighting back with gun fire usually dooms his entire group, as they would immediately be suspected to be dangerous aswell.
there's that old greentext that comes to mind, of a party of evil characters who go from wanton murder and destruction, to actually invested in the game world and the characters, to the point of changing their alignment and getting a heartfelt thank you from the GM to the one player who managed to affect a sea-change, who then throws it all away and destroys the group friendship with one in-game action.
One of my party members wanted to burn down an entire kingdom to get back at the tieflings running it (we didn't)
>>98009797I played an expy of picrel in 5e (Armorer Artificer/Graviturgy Wizard) and with the help of the rogue we mutilated (but didn't kill because killing these assassins was apparently a no-no) an assassin going after the rogue for their familial ties.
>>98010577Rogue trader?
>>98010509Immediate defenstration.
I once took TWO pennies from the jar! And I didn't rewind that movie I rented!
