There's a lot of it wrong that boil down to (amongst other things) dissonance between what the setting pitch/initial presentation and the actual writing that came out of it. Turns out you CAN'T just sell a setting off mildly cool Pinterest images. Add the fact that, unlike 40k, they used actual real life religious matters but it was all written by a bunch of atheists edgelords and the end result doesn't really work out.Plus they really tried to sell themselves as 40k minus the 'original sin' of having 'chuds' for fans which naturally turned their community into a purity spiral. There's also issues with the product itself but that is another can of worm.

Having read the rulebook I'm not sure where anybody gets the idea that the demons are supposed to be morally grey. IMO having read it the faithful are fairly unambiguously good, despite having been pressed into atrocious neccessity by the literal armies of hell invading them, and the demons are literally baby eating evil. It seems pretty clear that the christians are the good guys and the demons are the bad guys, even if the christians have some pretty grisly units. The Islamic faction is predictably bland though. They don't really do anything interesting with their iconography, likely because if they did IRL muslims would kill them for the blasphemy.

the lore is kind of bad and doesn't make much sense. Now I know that 40k's lore isn't great either but it seems much more coherent and it's always possible to come up with plausible in lore explanations for everything, plus its a massive setting in terms of scope so its easy to overlook certain things. TC has a much smaller scope (europe + levant) so mistakes stand out much more easily. for starts I think its ridiculous how they have jet fighters and massive battleships and even a space program (did I read that right) but still use bolt-action guns. It's not internally coherent in the same way 40k is. another disadvantage TC has when compared to 40k is that it is based in europe and Christianity and this creates an expectation of realism that naturally clashes with a lot of things the setting has. in short, in a setting like TC the internal inconsistencies stand out so much more because its not sci-fi like 40k.But then again 40k is what, almost 50 years old? They had a lot of time to iron out all the issues and build up the lore to what it is now. TC is still very young, the authors still have a lot of time to rewrite things.
