Hello /tg/ I'm working on a psycho pass campaign for a play by post style forum game.I'm here for inspiration and to steal good ideas. Given the nature of a play by post forum the game will be a narrative game, probably using FATE, pbta or a homebrew system to make it work.Recommend me anything psycho pass / cyberpunk related for my psycho pass campaign, from cool scenes, ideas, npcs, plot hooks or anything you can came up with.
For a true Psycho-Pass vibe, focus on:surveillance as normal lifemorality judged by systemsemotional suppressionstability vs freedom“perfect” cities hiding rotCore idea:A city has had zero violent crime for 18 months. Citizens are calm, obedient, and emotionally flat. Art vanished. Suicide rates quietly rise. The truth: the government is chemically/algorithmically suppressing emotions — and it works.Mission Hooks:A child predicted to become a future killer hasn’t done anything wrong yet. Do the players protect, monitor, or eliminate them?A celebrity’s Psycho-Pass deteriorates live on stream, causing riots and mass panic.A black market sells recorded emotions and memories: grief, murder, love, adrenaline.A murder victim showed zero fear during death. Why?NPCs:Cheerful Inspector: kind, polite, fully loyal to the system.Enforcer Poet: latent criminal who understands humanity better than anyone.Therapist Villain: intentionally destabilizes patients to “evolve” society.AI Idol: virtual celebrity worshipped by millions who begins acting independently.Cool Scenes:Neon rain alley execution where the gun refuses to fire because the suspect’s Hue suddenly clears.Drone funerals cleaning riot victims while ads continue overhead.Public therapy shows where citizens vote on psychological “correction.”VR interrogations where suspects no longer know what memories are real.Factions:Reformists trying to humanize the system.“Ghosts” erased from all databases.Offline retro rebels using books, film cameras, and no electronics.Corporations selling emotional stability subscriptions.Twists:Crime coefficients are politically manipulated. The players are secretly being psychologically profiled. The villain is right: destroying the system means chaos, keeping it kills free will.Inspiration:Blade Runner 2049, Minority Report, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Cyberpunk 2077.

>>98042214Woah, a Psycho-Pass Thread on /tg/? There a seen few enough on /a/ these days. >Given the nature of a play by post forum the game will be a narrative game, probably using FATE, pbta or a homebrew system to make it work.Good thought - have you ever looked into How to be a Hero? That could also work and is rather easy to handle. I think the biggest question in regard to actual play would be, if the players are inspectors or enforcers or both, with that of course greatly impacting their experience and coming along with certain limitations. But that itself could be made interesting.>>98042270Sounds good so far - all stuff that previous seasons touched on, but never gave full attention - especially S3, I would say. The only problem I see so far, is that it could be come difficult to tie them all together, in case you have an overarching villain behind them. Which I would think, is atleast what makes & brakes the show usually, with Makshima yet standing as the most interesting of them as a character. Altough I think, that Kamui while very weird in the end, was rather interesting in the beginning in the sense that he infiltrated the system and just played it smarter then the white haired yapper in that regard. Generally speaking they would need to be someone who is not just challenging to defeat directly, but also provides a challenge intellectually or morally to the players and the system. Some think the constant literary quotes are pretentious, but I would completely embrace it, it what makes the show fun. Easiest inspiration in that regard would be Nietzsche or Uncle Ted, I guess.Still, the villain(s) also need a way to challenge the system in using some trick to overcome its limitations and not just get caught instantly. You could just use another criminal asymptomatic person - though that also could be fun, if a player is one without knowing and might be made a certain offer by Sybil once it finds out.
>>98042490Cont.Another option for a antagonists trick to fool Sybil, I allways thought about was Hypnosis / Brainwashing, which could be fitting for the weird shinto group you mentioned >>98042270. A second one, but a bit weird one, could be sleep - atleast that is something I allways asked myself. Since the Crime Coefficent is based on your PPs Hue and thus can jump up in relation to stress, what happens when you are sleeping? Can it be accuratly measured still? The idea would be that villain employs sleepwalking or strapping sleeping people in exo-skeletons, who can wreck shit but not get targeted by the Dominator. It would also provide instant themes to the villain, maybe the call themselves even Morpheus - bit pretentious, bit edgy, but so is the show. As for Sybil, its agents and the general state of the society, funnily enough, I am currently working on another video about it. If you don't mind me shilling it here, here would be the yet first one, that might be helpfull in understanding their mindset - or atleast my reading of it: https://youtu.be/k2Im8iHdsJs
>>98042490Thanks for your answer!I have several ideas to make the different antagonist being able to bypass Sybil surveillance, including some crimes being committed in spooky far away ghost towns with no sybil infrastructure. If you are interested I made the following prologue for the campaign I wanted an strong cinematic opening for a conspiracy thriller and I came up with this, it is just the first drawer but I quite like it even if a bit over the top. I think it sets the mood on the military involvement and its potential conflict with Sybil.(listen on repeat while reading)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=140vcrT-RQoPrologue (eng)https://pastebin.com/rT9mGy2dIt was inspired by the Patlabor movie opening scene:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4ZikoCwqOA
>>98042518Some topics I want to touch in the campaign- Sybil as a self replicating self-serving system that is close to reaching a phenotypic revolution using humans as means for reproduction- The Sybil system as an evolutionary filter- The future humans after a post Sybil society- Death drive / Death pulsion, what is the value in life in a dystopian society and the idea that some people may just want to end everything.- The geopolitical tension between an expanding Sybil and the rest of the world
>>98042214You're going to need something like Lasers and Feelings because the Dominator and its function is just a giant plot hole/device
