Is possible to get published a lorebook that feels more like character concept art + character biography and his skills and lore and movelist and ruleset?I want to make a sort of lorebook with a world with 512 waifus, and have each waifu be a main character in her own story.Basically each waifu to have 20 pages of story and lore, written in a style like the bible without pink prose and fluff.Or similar to the silmarillion style.
>>98044797That sounds like you’re putting a fan wiki onto paper more than a lore book, frankly. The fuck do you expect anyone to get out of such a book? Is this for your own system or for something already in production?
>>98044832I want to make a story that is more like a giant world building rather than a normal story. The core point is 512 main characters, each one with their own story.
Who do you think is going to want to read your 10,000-word autistic masturbation bible?
>>98044846So what makes it different from an anthology? Cause that’s what it sounds more like.
>>98044797>Is possibleYes anon, its called a coffee table book. There's a lot of those. Not sure how much audience fanatical wifu based coffee table books have but now that I've typed it out it seems plausible. It will help a lot to have high quality art and layout. The actual written content is less important to these sorts of books. They primarily run on vibes and being fun to flip through for a bit. Should work better with 2-3 pages of lore interspersed with art, illuminated manuscript sort of stuff. Check out european arthause game/weeb publishers like Hollow Press.
Arabian Nights but it's a homeless man telling a commuter a story of a new waifu every day

>>98044797It is not possible. Many have tried. They refused to heed the warnings. They all died when the finished thought took shape and devoured their brains.
>>98044797This honestly sounds like more of a /lit/ question, but there's also been a weird push for coffee table artbooks and unusual literature to be folded into the TTRPG hobby, so I can't blame you for coming here. Lot of people think anything that is vaguely creative, but not just a standard novel must also be a sort of game, even if the creator doesn't have any interest in games. That said, there's all the "fake video game" books that have gotten really popular thanks to a youtuber, and also shit like Burzok's Mercenary Handbook, which do not pretend to be real RPGs and instead revel in the metafiction of being a book about something that doesn't exist. Burzok's is just 100 pages of art and writing from various artists about a bunch of fictional mercenaries and their gimmicks, how to hire them, and so on. I picked it up to use as NPC inspiration for the games I GM, but you could easily make the same thing, but with your 512 waifus.
>>98044797OMG it's Uni!! <3<3<3
>>98045006Fuck me, that could actually be an interesting framing structure.
>>98044849Is it that your mathematics is bad or are you saying OP's masturbation material is epic inspiration? 10k words across 512 waifu is only 19.5 words per waifu.I made these up and they don't work for me. No, I haven't tried.>Adoring, sweet, eager elf hangs on your every word. Treats you like a king. You both climax every time.>Tiefling. Mega-slut dominatrix. Demonic heritage means both: sadistic; if she lets you penetrate you find her vagina is literally volcanicIf OP were really to write only 10k words then he's leaving a lot to the reader's imagination, which is how fantasizing works, but I think I'd feel hard done by with nano-fiction like that. He'd have to do a lot better than my quick examples.
>>98044849>10,000-word Op said 20 pages per waifu. That's 10 000 pages. It's implied that there's more than 1 word per page.
>>98044797have you written anything yet or is this purely theoretical
>>98044797So a more personalized Monster Girl Encyclopedia?
Imagine not being published. Inb4 i'm lying, I got a short story published in a vampire anthology and a poem published in my school's anthology. Its not much but its enough to say Im a published author.
>>98044797I think it definitely is feasible. Post it for free on QuestionableQuesting or RoyalRoad (one chapter per day or whatever), build up a following, then take the free version down and sell it on Amazon.
>>98044797>512 waifusMormons...
>>98046271Urbanian Days
>>98046525>>9804484910k words isn't even enough to count as a novella lmao
>>98046615Okay so link it, should be easy enough.
>512 waifus>20 pages of story and loreTotal book length = 10240 pagesThat puts it at third place in terms of world's longest fiction books. But since fiction books have lower word count than TSR style rule books, it goes to world's longest fiction book at nearly 31 000 equivalent pages.Lord of the Rings: circa 1100 pages Let's say each waifu has 25% of her 20 pages as art, leaves 15 pages of waifu text.15 pages per waifu * 512 waifu per book * 1500 words per page (I counted a few pages in TSR books) = -- Are you sitting down?11 520 000 words per book. What is possibly world's longest fiction book, In Search of Lost Time by Proust that Wikipedia tells me is 1 267 069 words. 69, kekWord count of LOTR: approx. 455 00025 times shorter than OP's magnum opus.
