>>98059878They should do an MTO for millionaires for those as well
>>98059878>TQWhen it's basically only a colorscheme (no, having fluff doesn't matter) and has no model line for itself.
>>98059878Tq Glup shittos aren’t a bad thing. Rather they are a good thing because it means the people behind reminding them they exist or existed actually did research about the setting they are making media for.So glup shittos should be seen as a good thing when they get mentioned even if for a split second. It is the way fans react when less obscure things are given attention or an Easter egg that is bad.
Almost done with it.
>>98059878>$50 in you are the path

>>98059910It's 29 eurobucks. No way is it 30 dollaroos
>>98059905Metal 3d printing needs to be there for those scans to truly be viable.I don’t think the vostroyans had a finecast treatment. So autists will screech recast to claim victory when the opponent with scan prints has to leave.

I like orks :D >>98059878I’d say there’s two definitions of glup shitto.>side character of stories who is a fan favorite every time they show up (which is what the origin of this phrase was used for). >complete background character with lack actual relevance to any stories (the way /40kg/ often uses it)so I’d say technically anything that isn’t a main character or posterboy is a glup shitto to be honest.

>>98059961He's not as cool as I thought he'd be from the silouhette (I thought he'd be a sniper droid with a tall head full of optics), but I still like it enough that he's in the list of admech kits I'd like to buy in the future.
>>98059961>dust settledIt never does. That model is too silly looking even by rogue trader silly standards.
>>98059972Yes seems I was correct.
>>98059969>loregross
>>98059969>Dark Angels>not fairy
>>98059969>the least in loreI’d probably say the orks. They already won as the galaxy is just a big vortex of war and violence and orks are made to forever love war and live off war. They won and truthfully I’d even say they’re the closest to being the good guys of 40k because they aren’t evil so much as they’re just doing what they were made to be and that is fighting and dying while fighting. Now the biggest jobbers in 40k have to be the planetary defense forces. Even the guard comes in to save them. And the pdf forces have to fail when an invasion occurs to justify marine and guard activity on a planet.
>>98059961would have been saved if he had actual knee joints halfway down. would have made him look like he can make great strides in seconds to get into a new position. might have also done with a short range flamethrower of some kind, so he gives off the image that he can rush you down and burn you to death if he needed to.

>>98060032I’m not scared. I just don’t have anything creative to offer as I don’t have imagination anymore.Any creativity I have is just a stirred soup of inspiration from other stuff. And I want to have my home brew pages like that instead have painted models photoshopped onto the pages.Oddly enough I think painted models of someone’s homebrew gives more “appeal” and probably makes the homebrew more “endearing” at least when I see it. It is kind of rare for homebrew fluff pages to be presented with painted models.

>>98059878>TQGlup Shittos are obscure returning characters or characters from obscure media brought forward as a 'hey look at this!' moment for fans, I'd say you need to draw from extremely early material or shit that hasn't been mentioned in decades ro qualify as a glup shitto. Huron and the Red Corsairs are objectively glup shittos now, but now that they have modern kits they eventually won't be considered glup shittos because they won't be obscure.Just apply hipster logic when determining glup shitto potential. >>98060185I think specific factions can be, at least in 40k. There's a wealth of old material and groups who haven't had a word said about them in literal decades.

>>98060166I think the orks are just a warmachine’s weapon that is still firing to this day. They don’t really have any capabilities to be anything other than violent organisms so my saying that orks aren’t evil is more so because they don’t have the capabilities to be anything other than warmongers. But maybe the canon changed a bit so I am open to being wrong.
>>98060230Depends on the source. I do not know of a version where Emperor ordered Magnus' death.

The Bradley blinded the russian tank by blowing up their camera systems for long enough to get a serious hit in with its much smaller cannon. Then they flew a drone in to finish it off when it was immoblized by hitting a tree. >>98060951The rock doesn't do the bullet's job just as well. A fpv drone DOES do the artillery shell's job and for a fraction of the price. >>98060687>Over all the video was definitely biased in favor of the american military industrial complex, they literally show an expensive tank being taken out by an IFV+Drone combo but they still said "we should keep manufacturing tanks".You need context. You're looking at an uncommon exception and taking it as a rule.Normally it would be uncommon for a Bradley to get a mission kill on a T90 like that. Optics are a small target while the Bradley is a large target. The normal outcome of a tank vs IFV combat with equivalent crews would be for a smoking crater in place of the IFV.Also, Russian military tech is almost a generation behind equivalent generation US tech in practice, due to lack of maintenance, parts, fuel, crew training, visual systems, etc. Bradleys and T90s are both 90s designs, but functionally a modern Bradley may as well be decades ahead of an updated T90.At *minimum* it takes three drones to take out a current gen tank, potentially much more; whereas you can take out an AFV or lighter vehicle in 1-2.Tanks are still valuable in modern militaries (which is why all sides keep making them and sending them to the front) because nothing matches their combination of firepower, protection, and mobility.Bradleys and other IFVs are good, but with their lesser armament they're not as good at storming a trench line and blowing up bunkers with their cannon (which I've seen in practice in the Ukraine War with tanks). If the USA god forbid ever comes up against Chinese tanks landing on e.g. Taiwan from amphibious ships and fighting on trench lines and hillsides of limited mobility, they're going to want to have tanks of their own to mount a response - which is why Taiwan bought 100+ M1A2T tanks from the US.Yes the military industrial complex is real and does push for their interests, yes sometimes they are out of touch of the changing battle landscape, but foreign countries aren't ordering huge numbers of tanks from the USA because they're useless.

USMC is already planning on how to incorporate drones on a squad level, with "long-range ground strike" missions in mind. Like I said before, legacy systems aren't disappearing, but drones are absolutely going to be filling niches that were previously occupied by arty and conventional airpower.
>>98061013I'm just happy they brought covered rams and shotgun meta back
>>98061066Yeah, having some drones in the mix as situational weapons with a niche is not exactly the same as the future being 24/7 drone warfare.
>>98061088>24/7 drone warfareI've repeatedly stated that drones won't completely replace tanks/arty/airpower. I am willing to bet that soon the Pentagon will see the value of standing up entire drone battalions and treat them as a primary combat arm, similar to what we are seeing in Ukraine. Big organizational shifts like that just come slowly to bureaucracies, which is what big militaries are.
>>98061046>another space posterHi. All of what you say is wrong. It's uncommong for bradleys to remove a russian tank because they're spotted and removed before such a threat is near them. It's called combined arms.Russian tech isn't a generation behind, they have no production and rely on imports. I have friends who migrated to the US and told me all about how pilot companies near their borders buy up west stuff and sell it at a higher price to russians under the table.Three drones to take out a current gen tank? Abrams always lost at drone#1. The updated M1A2's were seen dying there. Ukraine were asking for DU armor versions but they were witheld.Tanks being valuable depends on the operation. This should be spoken by a general, not an armchair general. Look at history to teach you, not someone online.Bradleys and other IFV's being good is subjective, majority of when most IFV's come under fire is when they fail. You see random videos of a MRAP taking a mine with artillery bombing everywhere and a mini drone hitting it on the side; but here's a secret. Those get scrapped pretty often. Unrepairable and one-use. They've had failures with deaths more than half of these engagements or more.(they're glowing targets on the Ukrainian PLAINSLANDS)Taiwan is light tank territory if any. Look at a map of the islands please.>insert internal subjective remarks about industrial complexYou know nothing about the 'industrial complex' if you're using that term. It's called Stock Interests. >>98061066Because they can't afford artillery shells since they've used up a lot of their current stock, and EU artillery shell production is more limited than Chinese DJI mass market drone production.Think of it like switching to your sidearm when your rifle runs out of ammo.Drones have advantages of ambush and manoeuvrability over artillery (leaving aside specialised munitions like Excalibur), but they have many more downsides: less explosive power, being able to send much less boom downrange much less quickly, shorter engage range, longer response time (I can call position to arty team and have it blown up in 3min or wait 15min for a drone), drone flight time allowing them to be potentially evaded in a fast vehicle, and the ability to actually shoot down drones.Artillery is still King of the Battlefield in terms of actual casualty rates. https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/have-drones-replaced-artillery-in-ukraine-war-sa-022026 70-80% of casualties are arty.Don't let yourself get excited by the new thing just because it's new, artillery is here to stay

Cost effective is good return on investment money wise in that the cost of deployment and neutralising the target is economically viable. Effective just means it can neutralise the target. This is why shit like the Tanith having wooden stocks on their lasguns is out of the ordinary and something special. >>98061452'member this?pepperidge farm remembers
>>98061457Yes, im not denying thatbut, a drone is not as effective as a Javelin, even if it is more COST-effective. and while drones are able to disable and take out tanks, generally the footage only shows the drone strikes that work. In interviews with ukranian tankers, the only place that is worse than being in a tank inside the 'Grey zone', is to be outside of a tank. They have proven effective, but they are not the best weapon system, im sure that a ukranian soldier would much prefer a hellfire on demand to an FPV drone. Drones are so prolific right now due to their cheap cost, large economy of scale due to the ability to utilise civilian components, and their ability to provide both reconnaissance and strikes for their cheap cost. Drones are not going to replace anything on the battlefield, they are simply going to become another tool for the ground fight, with which doctrine will need to adapt to.
Has it been confirmed or ignored by gw that autoguns can technically deliver powerful punches over lasguns due to custom rounds but the lasgun wins out because armies self recharging batteries that are their lasgun’s magazines is more logistically able to be supplied than constant streams of solid slug ammunition?

>>98061511just look it up on youtube>t90 vs bradly ukraine
>>98061492to add to this, drones will, i feel, become increasingly prolific, and the focal point, within smaller militaries, and those with more limited capabilities, as they are an incredibly cheap platform that can give access to a large number of different capabilities that in a larger military, would be done by a much costlier, and effective, dedicated weapon system or platform. A drone cannot replace a tank, it cannot replace a MANPAD, and it cannot replace the attack helicopter, in their capabilities. BUT, it can do a fraction of the job, for a fraction of the price, and just being able to get a fraction of some of those capabilities is worthwhile for nations unable to get their hands on the required number of other systems. If artillery production numbers were able to keep up with demand, and if tanks, and demining equipment was available in large enough numbers, i do not believe that the war would have devolved to such a state where the drone is the primary threat within the grey zone. The primary advantage of the drone, outside of the cost argument, is the ability to infiltrate where larger, more effective equipment cannot, at little risk to the operator.

>>98061553>If we count the kills and abandoned vehicles, if every one was a success for a guided missile, then 45,000 missiles have scored 9,000 kills, a kill rate of 20%. But the real figure will be much lower.>PGMs have not been the big killers. A RUSI report on the first year of the conflict downplayed their impact, stating: “Despite the prominence of anti-tank guided weapons in the public narrative, Ukraine blunted Russia’s attempt to seize Kyiv using massed fires from two artillery brigades.”>In the latter stages of the war, FPV kamikazes have taken over as the main tank killers. Current estimates suggest 65% or more of armored vehicle losses are inflicted by FPVs and other small drones, not guided missiles.
>>98061564STCs are probably all like that
Hellblaster status?
>>98061568i am saying that in engaging enemy armour, one has a much higher hit rate, and a much higher impact on target, and thus, a higher effectiveness. If it takes one or two javelins compared to four or five drone hits to destroy an enemy tank, then the javelin is, outright, the more effective system. In terms of cost effectiveness, the Drone still wins, for the same cost of javelins you can have more drones wider afield, hitting more targets, BUT they are doing a less effective job of destroying each individual target. Its much quicker and easier to train a soldier to fire a javelin missile than it is to train a drone pilot to hit his target. It is also much quicker to destroy or render ineffective, a target that is a problem for you, with a javelin, than it is to wait for the one, two, three, however many drones it takes, to do the same thing. Drones are the poor mans solution to these problems, and along with a lower effectiveness per drone, they also have the issue of not being as rapid in the destruction of those targets except in the exact situation the ukraine war is in, where the frontline 'greyzone' is tens of kilometers deep. >>98061577ive read that forbes articleits retardedits not comparing the hit rate of each individual fired javelin, but comparing the overall number of javelins to the overall number of destroyed armoured vehicles. its like the 240,000 rounds of ammunition to kill a single taliban in the afghanistan war, where it also included ammunition expending in training, including state side training prior to deployment. It isn't the hit rate of the individually fired missiles, which can be fired at a wide array of targets, not just armoured vehicles.
>>98061591WHC article described them as "self-organising datastacks and quantum infocores" that "held all the information a people might need to survive among the stars – weapon specifications, military theory, genealogical data, science, philosophy, and even Standard Template Constructs." The cores aren't STC, but they contain STCs. The cores are something greater, running their whole societies, rather than just being instructional manuals.

>>98061613Standard Template Construct refers to both the AI device and to the blueprints it contains. What you describe is an STC.
>>98061610>frontline 'greyzone' is tens of kilometers deepwhich exist because of how effective drones are. I understand that in the very specific roll of destroying armor, the Javelin is technically superior. However; the biggest strength of drones, aside from cost, is their versatility. They can loiter, they can go into buildings, the can do recon, they can destroy a wide variety of targets, they can even resupply frontline units to a limited degree. That kind of versatility is why they are going to see continued use in future conflict, both by the "poor man" and major military powers.
>>98061643If GW retconned the Tau to be even more drone focused in war like we see IRL with the mechs as combined arms with the fire warriors to advance after waves and waves of drones, and thats how the Tau are beating the WW1 trench warfare tactics of the Imperium. Would people accept this retcon.Because to me thats my headcanon of who the Tau survive imperium invasions
which necromunda models are good for use in 40k?
>AWOO WITH ME BR - ACK!
>>98061643im not discounting the usefulness drones have, they can do all of those roles.but people need to recognise that the 'perfect usecase' of drones, is the ukranian war, simply because neither side has enough of a superiority in arms, or in the russian case, 5 functioning braincells, to allow for combined armed operations to continue.Drones will only again be as useful as they currently are in the Ukranian war, if you are stalemated with your enemy in manoeuvre warfare, and it bogs down to more static, frontline combat.
>>98061640When ever have STCs been described as doing the stuff Ancestor Cores are described as doing? If they're STCs, why does it say they contain STCs, rather then saying they're STCs?
>>98061658i feel the need to add here, that if the russians actually had competent officers, i feel like they would have cakewalked the ukranians in a couple of months at the outset of the war. That time is long gone now, and if the Russians did find the necessary number of braincells to coordinate combined arms warfare, they would have enough to also know they will not have the material to do so, for atleast another decade.
>>98061650>thats how the Tau are beating the WW1 trench warfare tactics of the Imperium. How are drones beating trench warfere tactics in real life? The whole thing feel like it has turned into trench warfare because of drones. Both sides just hunker down and lob explosives at each other.
>>98061662I meant in 40k not an irl war. Imperium uses mass infantry tactics which are blown up by Tau drones and then survivours are scattered pockets that are wiped out by crisis suits and fire warriors. So the Guard cant really beat the tau without support from Titans or space marines which are rarer forces.
>>98061655Imagine trying to explain why you made this to someone without sounding like a total freak.
>>98061659Quite literally all the time. Did you even read what you posted?
>>98061664Except thats not what drones do, really. Drones dont destroy massed infantry waves, drones create a space of persistent observation and threat, making coordination and movement of men and material harder. The Tau generally beat the Imperial guard by utilising classic combined arms tactics with a much quicker observation-to-effect chain and better reconnaissance. The tau see where the guard are massed, and so can conduct operations at the periphary of the massing to degrade the spearhead. When forced to engage the spearhead, they instead choose to give ground to attrit and degrade the abilities of the guard. The tau dont sit on a static position and destroy waves of guardmen with drones unless they have no option but to sit and defend something. Generally imperial victories over the tau had expressly resolved around the imperium being able to make the strategic situation to be one where the tau has to stand and fight somewhere, and hammer them down with overwhelming firepower, where the tau simply cannot use their better maneuverability to minimise losses and exploit tactical opportunities.
>>98061680All descriptions of STCs have the dealing with technology and creating schematics on making said technologies. Meanwhile, from GW themselves:>"Within these self-organising datastacks and quantum infocores is held all the information a people might need to survive among the stars – weapon specifications, military theory, genealogical data, science, philosophy, and even Standard Template Constructs. There is an unimaginable wealth of lore buried in each Votann, which cannot be allowed to fall into the more superstitious hands of outsiders."The Cores run the cloning facilities and factories that produce the Kin and Ironkin. When they die, their memories are uploaded to the Cores. Where in the fluff does STC do this?
The Votann need a robot like this.
>>98061691SMS are drone guided rockets and are the most comparable tool the tau have to a FPV drone with a grenade. SMS are AI guided however.

>>98061891All advice is going to be based on 10th edition which is rapidly approaching its end but I'll give you the overview. So because of the limited roster range, and relatively low point costs of everything, every list is going to have a large portion of the codex options in it by default. There are some tools that you have to rely on heavily in every list though.Scourges are the only good anti-tank option and dark lances are the only reliable equipment they have to not get evaporated by Overwatch, so you only use haywire scourges in reapers wager where they can get OverWatch denial and rerolls to wound.Malys is now the only option you have to get a vect auea, a redeploy, and a significant damage dealer so she's basically an auto include. After that, every list either has mandrakes or reavers as screening and objective play option because they are the most mobile options you have for getting somewhere fast and cheap.Venoms are absolutely crucial because splitting your infantry into MSU blobs is super useful and recycling your melee threats by picking them up after the fight phase behind a wall gives you a lot more gas. Hellions are very deadly and fast for how cheap they are and combined with their reactive move and deep strike can threaten anything their 1AP won't bounce on.Wyches are very good for their point cost right now, especially if you can split them. They are extremely fast and disposable and can pop 10 OC anywhere on the board very quickly, especially if combined with a Raider. After that it gets real particular based on which kind of Detachment you want to play. There are four viable options right now and each only buffs a subset of the army.(1/2)
>>98061160>>>>/k//k/ is a sad parody of itself these days. Even before the Russian-Ukrainian shitshow there were sings.
>>98062208Spectacle is the most popular one currently so Wych and Hellion spam with a couple enhancement Succubi and Reavers fill out the ranks.Covenite Coterie is gaining popularity and relies on max Talos and a few Cronos and Wrack blobs lead by Haemonculi.Kabalite Cartel runs Ravagers, Scourges, and Incubi to deal a lot of damage but is very fragile.Skysplinter Assault brings lots of boats loaded up with Wyches and some other infantry threats to flood the board with catapulted trade pieces.Reaper's Wager uses a bit of everything with the occasional Troupe or Solitaire added for fun.A few more common inclusions:Lelith is your only Fights First threat but she's not as great as she was in index and has to be run with Wychea to do much.Kabalites are not great for their point cost but sticky objectives can be very useful and reroll wounds buff on Malys/Archon is nice so one unit split by a venom is common with all the special guns together and one trash buff unit as ablative wounds for a character.Archons getting a free stratagem like grenades every turn can do quite a lot for you and they do some respectable damage. And incubi love their buff.Drazhar is pretty great even on his own but gets nasty leading Incubi, except in SSA where his buff is wasted.Incubi are your other melee blender besides hellions and have better AP but are slower and more expensive and need to stack buffs to get the most out of them. 10 is overkill into most threats with a leader while 5 risks bouncing into larger things and getting wiped on the back swing.Cronos is a cheap and bulky distraction Carnifex that can take a pinch from small arms and hold an objective well with some pain token regen on the side.Voidraven is a less common tech piece since the massive point hikes but is the only thing you can peek over cover with to drop a lot of D2 attacks into staging marine blobs.Razorwing, Carb Scourges, and Hand of the Archon are terrible unitsWracks/Ravagers need CC/KC to work

Can someone explain the difference between contrast and shader like I'm dumb? Like I know what shader is at least
>>98062579I believe it has to do with the medium the pigment is dissolved in. Shader is just water and flows very freely into crevices and deposits there as it dries while contrast has a slightly oil base with more surface tension so the pigment flows but still distributes a bit more evenly and leaves a shiny glaze after drying.
>>98062530seems hard to operate
>>98062598That's what she said.
>>98062599reaching
>>98062579Contrast has a different medium with a different viscoity so it flows into cracks better. The other thing is that the pigments in in contrast aren't a uniform size. Most of them have a darker pigment that's more finely ground than the lighter pigments so it falls into the crevices in the model and pushes out the lighter colors so the low areas are darker than the higher areas.
>>98062607>the pigments in in contrast aren't a uniform sizedamn
If the pigments are specific to the contrast recipe then why do they sell this? Just to thin down other contrasts?
>>98062600not what she said
>>98062451Also porn. Make it a license deal for established outlets.
>>98062610Correct. You can't just thin down contrast with water or it runs too much and loses the even pigment distribution
