Thinking about dropping my whole party and starting from scratch with randoms. Are strangers as bad as they say for IRL games? Also, general 'that guy' thread I guess.

I have been thinking of doing the same thing sometimes, my group are great but they are a bunch of quirk chunguses and I feel myself the outsider more and more. If you're actually going to do it, do what I plan to do, and run an open table west marches game at the FLGS. Whoever shows up is who plays. Make sure you advertise it decently, and give an email so you get at least a few replies before you actually run. Make some starter dungeons, use a very closed system that doesn't have character building so no OP builds. From there you can see who you like and maybe run a second more story-fcused campaign on the side.Alternatively, if you're not a DM, play at local Adventurer's Guild games, enjoy the chaos and retardation of D&D with randos, and make friends with any players who actually seem decent to you. Weed out the furries and autists and build a group of bros.I met my last group through coworkers and their coworkers at their new job after they quit. It worked out great. Still play with them 10 years later. The group before that was from high school. So yeah I'll probably never give those guys up, but everyone thinks about wiping the slate clean and starting over, socially.
