Strixhaven was a mistake.

I'm all for in-universe sets, but this one was just seriously wrong from powercreep view. They tried to slow the game down by printing expensive cards that take over the game. Paradigm, card advantage, mana advantage... Now games just drag forever with removal, until someone manages to drop a bomb.

I want to play so bad but I hate creature tokens ;(

Hate to say it but I actually had fun with the alchemy mwm decks. The guy that puts bridge from below into your graveyard just completely takes over the game if he sticks around. I much preferred alchemy to marvel superheroes and the plane of New York City every 3 months.

It depends on how you can realistically expect to perform. If you're gud, Contender Draft is a new thing with the best rewards for positive records. If you can't expect to go positive consistently, Quick draft's pack rewards have the same or better return for cost as any Premier record 3-3 or worse. You can learn the best archetypes and force them over and over in that, and you'll have reasonably even odds every game. Even when you lose you'll lose your gems slower.

Only issue is quick draft isn't always current set, so if you need those you're stuck in the Mentally Ill Draftranny (endearment) mines with me. Premier Draft is designed to make you insane and poor until you git gud. I like Paul Cheon and Jim Davis's draft videos for learning. If you don't care to do that stuff it will be frustrating and give you bad EV.

Pick Two is a mental illness I don't have so maybe someone else can say.

lol RIP. This was my 4-0 trophy abzan deck for comparison. Basically just golgari but splashed for hopesinger and silverquill charm.

Stirring hope singer was great. Had a game where wildgrowth archiac made Scathing Shadelock come in as a 7/9. And shadelock's ability triggers hope singer for basically free.

Blech was great. Used vicious rivalry against a simic deck that I was winning against but then built a field of simic legendaries, I swung in with everything including blech, he let 2 damage through killing basically all of my field then I played vicious rivalry wiping everything then played my second Blech.
