The basic Mandos hit a nice middle ground between Stormies and Clones.
Native Range 3 on Warriors with the GALAAR is cool but I wonder if it's worth the cost since their melee output is so much better and the Fire Support teams already fill the range 3 niche well enough.

Holy shit. I expected them to be over 100pts but that's rough even with their profile. 5 wounds with surging red save and impervious is tanky on paper but dice are a fickle bitch.
As for the weapons, I think the Shukur looks pretty great.
The micro-grenade launcher will be nice for an extra body on the elite mandos.
Not really sold on the sniper, it looks worse than the pre-patch snipers and about as expensive. With Range 4 Rockets that might be a good way to punch a hole in something tough.

Actually, looking now at the book that originally gave this info(which as far as I can tell is the cross section book), the line that mentions the V-wings and the Eta-2s are connected together with a colon, while every other description is connected by semicolons. So I think this might actually be the case, it's SUPPOSED to be an either or / a mixture of the two up to 192 ships, not 192 of both. Every other instance of ship complements being listed out in the book has the individual ship types being separated by semicolons, and not regular colons, with this being the soul exception.

So yea, I think the Venators carrying capacity is indeed supposed to actually only be 228, plus 40 or so LAATs, and not the 420 ships its been misinterpreted as due to unclear punctuation with two really similar looking symbols. I had to copy paste the pdf into a word document just to confirm that it really was two different punctuations being used.

I love Legion a lot but I can easily understand the hate for proprietary tools. People like when something can just be played with a tape measure and some dice grabbed from anywhere. It's just cheaper and less of a hassle than having to convert funky dice.

They were at their most hateable in Andor though, that's why the show "sold" their tyranny best compared to how other series tend to just designate them as obligatory bad guys.

So can anybody tell me lorewise if there's a difference between "Turbolasers" and "Medium Turbolasers"? It's a label you occasionally see on some vessels, but I can't help but feel like it's just a more wordy way of saying regular turbolasers, right? If the turbolasers were heavier than normal for more firepower, you'd call them heavy turbolaser. If they were lighter than normal for more rapid firing, you'd call them light turbolasers. But if they're right in the middle, moderate in power... that just means they're regular turbolasers.

Is there something else that I'm missing? Or is "medium turbolaser" an entirely redundant description?

Yes although we never see Alderaan in the movie, get to know any of its people aside fron Leia, or even learn the consequences of this action. If anything, Leia gets over it rather quickly and it's never brought up again in the trilogy.

Compare that to Ferrix or Ghorman where we at least learn about the inhabitants, their relationships, even a bit about their culture, before the Empire cracks down on all of them.

Im not going to lie, I prefer the way the force was handled in a new hope compared to the empire strikes back and onwards. You dont see any overt physical evidence of the force like luke picking up his x-wing from the swamp, its just premonitions, sensations, tricks of the mind, and sounds around the corner. I guess vader's choke is the one exception. but even that could be construed as a trick of the mind, like he forces him to not be able to consciously breath. in a way I find that a lot more interesting than fucking

Not really.
Grievous uses lightsabers but he is also cybernetically enhanced.
In the EU, Orman Tagge in the old Marvel comic and Jarael in the KotOR comic among others used a lightsaber well enough despite being normalfags.
In TCW you have Pre Vizsla using the Darksaber which is a lightsaber in all but name against Obi-Wan and later Maul and giving them a reasonable challenge despite being a Forcelet.
The Force isn't necessary but it probably helps.

You can use one without being able to use the Force, but you probably won't do very well because you're literally bringing a sword to a gunfight. A sword that can cut through nearly anything, but without the Force a normal human wouldn't be able to react fast enough to deflect blaster bolts back at the shooters.

Something I liked about Kannan and Sabine practising with the Darksaber was that it showed Mandos had perfectly crafted their gear and tactics to fight Jedi centuries prior but could not get around the Force. The ultimate material vs spiritual warriors.
Only when Sabine was able to come to terms with herself did she grow accustomed to the weight of the hilt and the reach of the blade.

That's a very common sentiment with older SW stuff, a lot of fans like what Lucas was forced to do in '77 due to budget, and don't care for the choices he made when he had more options. Speaking of Separatist propaganda, I've been reading through some of the old RPG books, and man people really overblow the fragility of CIS ships. They say they're really weak, but actually the recusants and munificents have hp and armor on par or better than anything not a dreadnought or venator, and actually have really strong shielding across the board. Providences too have better hp and shields than venators do, and even Imperial era ships a lot of time have weaker shields. People are seriously sleeping on how good Separatist ships are. Munificents are the weakest in armor and even then you'd still be better off than in an acclamator. They make great support ships.

The problem with a lightsaber is not that you can't use it at all* but that it's incredibly fucking DIFFICULT to use. You can learn to use it, but remember that you are always going to be swinging around a sword that has all its weight in the hilt, and the blade itself is weightless or near enough to it. And it's a sword where one wrong move will see you slice your own leg or arm or ear or head off if you get even fractionally wrong.

And on top of all that, the biggest reason to use a lightsaber is inaccessible to you. They deflect blaster bolts and other energy (and some projectile) weapons. But you need to have a Force user's enhanced reaction speed and literal precognition AND let the Force guide you AND BE TRAINED (often for years) in order to use a lightsaber to its full potential. If you can't use it properly, why not just bring a blaster? They're much easier to learn how to use.

* Important qualifier. Some lightsabers in Legends were designed with an internal button/circuit that had to be triggered using the Force, so if you weren't FS and didn't know the trick, you literally could not ignite the blade at all.

The Non-HuMan rules and regulations are a bit looser on the "man" part in NuCanon than Legends. There are more women in service of the Empire though higher ranking one in field positions are still exceedingly rare. The further away you go from the core worlds the looser the regs tend to get.
For example Daedra is the only woman in the ISB coruscant inner circle and it really shows that she has to claw her way up the chain tooth and nail to get anywhere in her career.
