>TQLiterally just Vostroyans, but not $35 for one goon with a flamer or plasma gun.
>TQI'd be fine with them being similar-ish to Vostroyans as implied before. Being said, what would the Imperial Army even have from a gameplay standpoint in presumably trying to be between SA and Militia? Better variety and no Third Line?
>>98121199>TQVostroyans. Their lore says they're using HH era equipment they never used during it because they chickened out. Also because they look cool as fuck.
>>98121225I sold an OG platoon box of them last month from their very first release for almost $900 epsteinbux. Have 2 of the rerelease platoons on order, lets see if we can go for a three-peat!
>>98121249I wish I had the money to scalp like you, Moshe.
>>98121269HA, thats the thing sadly, I dont....
>>98121242Imperial Army should have an insane amount of variety and unit options. What I would want to see is human soldiers using Rhinos, land raider explorators, land speeders, dreadnoughts and the like. More limited of course, but in addition to the regular human vehicles and tanks.
>>98121249>bought RT LR for less than $20>after years and years of trying to figure out what to do with it, sold it off for $200I'll put that money into getting two Proteus LRs instead.
>>98121199>Imperial Army when editionWe already have it, it's called Militia
>>98121396Militia is the PDF of the Imperial Army. And SA is just one regiment type. Imagine if Imperial Guard was represented by Codex: Elysians and a White Dwarf army list for planetary defence forces.
If GW ever gets around to IA, they’ll just be Cadians sold in boxes of 20 for $90
>>98121225>>98121242>>98121246Looks like you lads are stuck with the wargames atlantic grognards to be proxies for vostroyans.
>>98121904They'll just rebrand SA as the whole of Imperial Army. Maybe throw in some token regiment units like how IG has Kriegers and Catachans as their own unit entries.
>>98122005At least BMM sells Vostroyan heads.
>>98121199the main imperial army has been given models, they're Solar Auxilia who, as you know, are doing the heavy lifting during the crusadebut if you wanted variations other than Militia, best I can do is named regiments from the books, so you get the psychic guy who convinces the RG to rescue Corax from Istvan who iirc is not Solar Aux or at least is not depicted as sucheven still I think if the rules for such regiments were up to me, they'd be Journal Tactica entries for specific Provenances with kitbashing guides; now that the Old World range is up and running again it's easier to do some fancy-looking stuff with like Empire Swordsmen bodies or whateverI really do not want a situation like the Mymeara book where there's a production run on models nobody's buying because they're not tournament-legal for 40k, but the models people did want are going oop to make room on the production schedule
>>98122216
>>98122140They already did that in 2.0 hard. I don't recall any reference to non-SA imperial army in that edition but I do remember how even established regiments like the guys on Tallarn or the legions homeworld regiments were all retconned into being different shades of SA like GW did a while back with cadians.
>>98122391>>98122301have you literally been bitching about SA for 14 years without ever understanding that they're featured so heavily because they're the main Imperial Army formation of the era>oh no m8 we want vostroyans the cowards who sat out the heresy shitting themselvesyeah that'd be militia, you're covered

What’s a good traitor army to start as opposites to my Iron Hands? Another legion, or a squishy militia horde?
>>98122425>we want vostroyansPeople want Imperial Army in winter gear.>that'd be militiaI dunno, Vossies got lasrifles and carapace, so they'd work way better as SA. That way you don't have to bother with expensive special weapons either. Just stock up on basic infantry and some command dudes.

What are some options for a corposant stave?
>>98123069More relevantly: Would something like a chainglaive be an acceptable "counts as" for a corposant stave?
>>98123093I would be more inclined to let you upgrade a corposant stave to a chainglaive then let you count one as the other.

Built my mortificator, "the necromancer". A sadistic fuck who likes abusing the dreadnoughts. probably not really a wizard but who knows at this point.
may I see people's magos-es (magi?)not archmagos, the command slot dudes
Looking at examples, there’s not really a standardized pattern of how or where Iron Warriors apply Hazard stripes. Is there any reasoning to when and where it’s applied or is it generally random?
And a siege breaker, really making headway into my consul collection.

Anons, I have great need of epic scale STLs, especially those custom legio units and terminators that used to be floating around out there.I really have a hankering to play Horus heresy, and I have a nice night lords army already, but I’d like to print and play at 10mm scale… I have most units in basic form, but would be awesome to get a hold of some legion specific terminators and what have you. Any hints on where they can be found?
>>98123392like the actual game in 10mm or for imperialis, are legion specific stuff a thing there? because i don't think i have seen legion special units stl
I’ve had this 3d printed land raider since the beginning of 2nd Ed. Finally getting around to painting it after learning how to varnish. Gonna work through a big back log of vehicles for the traitor ravens. How’s the hobbying Anon? Post models, show me your works.
>>98123416DAMN, I LOVE those track covers man....
>>98123400Actual Horus heresy game. There were a ton of great legion specific STLs floating around until a couple of months ago. I think GW did a legal sweep. Some mad man made 6mm scale terminators for just about every legion. I have a couple of them - iron warriors siege tyrants, WE red butchers, etc. was gonna use them in LI armies, still plan to, but would love to chase down more for Horus Heresy and play in 10mm to match my terrain boards (picrel)
>>98123416I’ve been more on the LI side (picrel).I have a 3k night lords army that I did at the start of 2e, but no games. I can find more LI games in my area than HH

conditional S10 multi-meltas on castellax?delightfully devilish, I might try it
>>98123513>forgets image
>>98123513Darkfire are better, never going to get meltas close enough to something worth shooting in a four turn game.
The first in what I hope in a line of 17 probably gonna end up being only like 5 considering the legions played at my LGS of legion specific saboteurs. Gonna paint him up as a regular WE and then he'll get some blue chips using weathering effects
>>98123537well the darkfires would be conditional S9 but the issue they have is heavy Dthey'd basically just be shit lascannons at that point
>>98123560I get that, truly, but they’ll be able to fire at a target every turn and potentially make back cost. I personally think you’ll have a real hard time getting them close enough to expensive enough things for the melta to outclass the darkfire.
>>98123553Man the whole “Alpha legion decloaking” thing is lame. Good on you for trying to make saboteurs for all the legions
>>98123590it was just more of a thought, I was reading the book and realised that as ling as your character is reductor, all the shooting in the unit gets the bonus(obviously there's the leadership negative too)while i'm discussing the mech book, any generic detschments that give a prime slot for a support unit?
>>98123553>Alpha Legion saboteurs with legion specific camo schemesAs a chainaxe enjoyer I think this is dope. Be sure to post the finished model, and any else you manage to complete in this series.

>>98123689He was the left over rampager I had that I bought on a whim months ago without ever planning a WE army (I wanted the weapons, they’re just cool), and he just so happen to be the last head remaining and I’m SO glad I went with it. It really does convey “a bit miffed at the situation”
None of the legions have specialized flyers?

>>98123759DA have flyers that travel through miniature warp portal, that they create themselfs that fire missiles that erase you and all of your ancestors from the time line. One of the wings of Hexagramaton is named after them. In modern days smaller less advanced craft, based on the Dreadwings design and retro fited on new found STC, use rift technology and stasis bombs. There is no weapon in w40k used by human or non human, that the DA do not have in their arsenal. They have everything, including custodes grade weapons. Only difference is that custodes can just use them on an order of a Captin, while the DA Arsenal can only be used on the order of the Emperor, Sigilite, Lion or the order of the Dreadmaster if the Council of Dreadwing gives okey to it.
>>98124189God I hope someone scans these soon so we can get some variety without needing the femoid half of the box.

Which legion(s) do you guys feel this helmet style fits the best?
>>98124467The description of the Dreadwing Sacristy in From Lion El'Jonson: Lord of the First by David Guymer. "On a ship better known for its unasked questions, the Dreadwing sacristy was renowned as a repository for the deadliest arcana to have survived Old Earth's Age of Strife unused.Within its multiply secured and ident-locked vaults could be found man-portable atomics, gene-targeted bio-weaponry, unstable plasma devices, singularity drivers, psionic phages — weapons that were so powerful, so cataclysmic in their intent, that the Emperor had deemed them too dangerous for the bulk of His forces to be allowed even to know of their existence. Time weapons that would erase entities, before they were even born.To His First Legion alone had He entrusted the secrets of such relic weaponry. With the arsenal that He had entrusted to their keeping, the Dark Angels had at their disposal the firepower to usher in a new Old Night should they, or He, so desire it.""To prosecute these impossible battles the Emperor would grant them access to the armoury vaults of the Imperial Palace, to every forbidden weapon entombed within, and they would be the only Legion trusted to wield the worst of Mankind’s creations freely.""Alone among the Legiones Astartes, they would make common use of the forbidden weaponry of Old Night, of gene-phage and rad wave, employed to wipe clean the nests of those enemies deemed too terrible to be faced in open battle."The Horus Heresy Book Nine – Crusade Forge World campaign book, in the section on the Dark Angels' forbidden arsenals. Also each time GW adds some new gear to the game the DA reaction to it is "we already have our own and it is better, we will not use it" And they only start using it end heresy or in the scourging.
>>98124467Ah and I also had a dream about my chapter from w40k, keeping watch of the last two grand crusiers armed with magna chrono canons that were taken from old Terrawat Clan from todays Ural Mountains(where I live now) that had access to chrono weapons and joined the Emperor early on his reconquering of Terra. For which their were granted an immunity from the Techpriests of Mars, who viewed their hybrid technologies, that combined different technological traditions. Ships and equipment using Terrawatt-derived tech were viewed as borderline techno-heresy by the Martian Mechanicum because they didn’t strictly follow the Omnissiah doctrine.

Pondering a Siege Assault Box. Don't have any of the models yet and it seems like an alright deal in current year. I'm wondering why it is available in such huge numbers. Are the Nu-Cataphractii really so bad, or is it just because people already own too many of the models? I also just realised that GW bumped them up to 6 models per unit. What dick move.
>>98124701>Are the Nu-Cataphractii really so badYes. They are.
what do I do if my archmagos is reductor for the detachment?basically any unit he joins he'll suffer a LD penalty, so his choices are>join a unit of thallax and ruin their movement>join a unit of tech thralls (LD penalty)>join a unit of bots (LD penalty)>take a unit of scyllax/servitorslatter seems like the best option imo
>>98124738Hide him behind a karacnos. In all seriousness though, put him in a bot unit. Automata can't gain statuses and count has having auto passed any test to avoid a status. A magos in a castellax brick is also miserable to deal with.
>>98124895anon, if bots are joined by a non bot model then that model will still have to take tests, and the entire unit gets affected if he fails said tests

>>98124904put him in a sacrificial unit with the Reductor trait; either some Thallax you don't need anywhere else, or just a blob made with Apprentice Cadre; you can get a couple of additional Cybertheurgic Rite options into that unit, tho you'll maybe never need them all, and they're reasonably cheap to begin with and have decent wargear options and profiles if you want to use the Archmagos unit as a beatstick
