>>98184985he cute
Thanks for making a new thread anon I was asleep>TQYeah actually
By the way, if you have a nechronica character that you'd like me to put in my card game and you have art/character sheet I can draw from let me know
>Booster Pack contents>7 commons>3 uncommons>1 rare>1 foil>1 RIP (Resource, Infrastructure, or Production) foil>1 basic resourceI don't want to leave draft play unloved
>>98185528For example, the current WIP is a friend's character he used in a campaign a while ago
>>98184985>opqnot sure if there's still any other ashes anons here, but this is a new card that seems fucking bonkers for astral swarm that I been playing.takes a little setup but you can slow roll it and if you hit a top round with a couple units, play gathering cloud, and then just win on the next turn swing for a billion.
>>98185538So called "draft" is the invention of shilling scammers running a pyramid investment scheme in plain sight! What you really meant to say was "I want to stuff my game full of dogshit filler cards to make the good ones even rarer". WE KNOW YOUR TRICKS AND THEY WILL NOT WORK.FUCK DRAFT FUCK DRAFT FUCK DRAFT AIIEEEEEE
>>98186906You're going to eat the chaff and you're going to like it. And if we catch you throwing any of it in the garbage instead of driving it to your local children's hospital for them to throw away we will make an angry YouTube video on you
>>98187208ALL packs should have 12+ cards of THE HIGHEST RARITY and NO DRAFT CHAFF.Anything less is a CRIME AGAINST THE PEOPLE that demands nothing less than REVOLUTION!
>>98187245Genius, 11 ultra rares and 1 super common per pack
>>98187245>>98187349Yeah, and a positive EV on every pack, even at low sample sizes!Just design the product to be good instead of bad. It's not hard. I can't believe nobody figured this out before.
>>98187378We could save money by doing packs of printed proxies
The real shitty thing is I thought I would try and save a little money by packing cards and boosters in house but it's almost twice as expensive per foil wrapper to have them send it with one end open
>>98187419Okay, so you learned you had a poor mental model of manufacturing and logistics. Are you going to update the model, or develop some kind of complex?
>>98187473The model was already updated and yesterday's post on pricing was part of that. You seem a little tightly wound, want to talk about it?
When every card is super rare... none will be.
>>98187378>>98187561>>98187473the shitty thing isn't the model, it's that its what people want. packs full of chaff you throw out, and hyper rares, and all the playable cards being rare is what sells. people always bitch, but then the games they choose to buy are the ones that maximize those things. if players actually wanted the things they say they want, LCGs would sell better than TCGs.
>>98187624>LCGs would sell better than TCGs.Perhaps LCGs aren't as appealing as TCGs.
>>98187624It gets funnier again! TCGs are a bell curve meme.Whales love them because of gambling and buying power, and degenerate freeters love them too because they can pay nothing, or almost nothing, and feel self righteous about being oppressed by the P2W.You have to be of reasonable means and uncommon character to like LCGs because you're dealing with a higher cost floor, you can't get carried by card quality, and you can't make excuses for your losses either.
one day, we'll make our own card game :')
>>98187624I finally understand why women don't want the nice boring guy
this card price got 1000+ dlls higer in A WEEKIs lorcana back????Every single iconic card price is going crazy rn
>>98188629Listings don't mean shit. Only sales count.
>>98188654I am talking about salescheck every the last sales
i guess i should play zeon again.
>>98187624Unironically just do the Pokémon thing and tie rarity to bling and not to power. That way you get cheap competitive decks and people gambling for art, and everyone's happy.
How fun is Sorcery to play? I want to pick it up because of the art (they use old Magic artists) but I'm turned off by the gameplay. I don't like grids on a card game.
>>98188831It's fun if you have $3000 to burn and gas money and a local shop with someone else to play withOtherwise it's the usual rip and scalp singles online like with Magic and Pokemon
>>98187659>Perhaps LCGs aren't as appealing as TCGs.they're not. they don't have gambling.
>>98188629>>98188654That's funny. The last league day I went to at my LCS (last Sunday), a regular was negotiating a sale of one of those Buzz's for like an hour. He had gotten it from the Set Championships the previous day. He got store credit for it, so no doubt he and his wife will have next set's preorder taken care of. Pretty sweet, if you can get it.
is lorcana back?
>>98189346quite literally yes, because the completion is face-planting right now and people need their scalper fodder.
>>98187884I'm already making my own, I'll ask you guys to help me play test when I'm readyThe previous project kinda went to shit so I might be able to get a prototype ready way sooner than expected
>>98188831I came from magic as well, and I find the grid gameplay is fun and literally adds another dimension to the strategies you can use. The only part I find annoying about the grid is sometimes you get a bit of a stack of cards on one square and have to move them around. Other card games feel too one-dimensional to me now. Don't listen to the retard telling you that you need to sink $3k into it to have fun. A set of 4 starter decks to play with friends is $35, and a deck for local competitive play can be had for $100. Plus they have a free officially supported tts mod, and community organized leagues with elo if you're into that.
I just bought a Grand Archive starter deck. It's been 20 years since I last played a TCG
>>98188827You must go full antag, Axis + Tee-Tans red - blue
>>98189346As a Lorcana player... it never really left?
>>98190103Hf bro. Ngl GA has some of the worst starter decks of all time. Nothing valuable in it, at most you get some usable cards that you can buy for cents online. No staples in those. Only Mordred Reco has a staple in it and it's a $60 'starter' deck.
>>98189687My head hurts, have a card
>>98187884me too
>>98191518I like the effect of this card, so comfy>>98191602cool, is it a cyberpunk card game?
>>98191672>cool, is it a cyberpunk card game?thanksit's an urban fantasy gamethis is just a card that belongs to a hacker gang
>>98192043whats the win con/goal of your game?
>>98192165the win con is to bring your opponent's Hold below 0players begin the game with 0 Holdwhen a player secures a Distric for the first time each of their turns, that player gains 1 Holdwhenever an agent dies, its controller loses Hold equal to that agent's RankHold represents the control of the gang a player commands over the cityimagine securing districts as "playing lands" in Magic, but sliiiightly more complicatedone of the main characteristics of my game is that cards in the discard pile return at the bottom of its owner's deck at the end of each turnsummoned agents don't enter the field directly; instead, they are placed face-up in the discard pile; as the player draws cards normally each turn, the summoned face-up agents get closer to the top of the deck, and when they reach the top, they enter the fieldthis allows players to build up their resources by securing Districts, and increasing their Hold before combat happensmy intention is to translate concepts from skirmish miniature games into card formso, instead of moving over the battlefield surface, they move vertically in the deck.
>>98192205have you tested your game already?
>>98192254yes, I havein fact, I submitted a previous version to a game design contest last year, and I'll try again this yearthe game is perfectively functionalbut I don't know if it's fun...
>>98192279>I submitted a previous version to a game design contest last yeardid they approve your game or it was rejected?
>>98192293the contest had three stagesIn the first round of the competition, they only judged the rulebook and I got the top rankbut it failed to reach the finals...
>>98192304too bad. hope you'll get higher score next time!>I don't know if it's funwell, you need to ask some people to playtest your game to know of it's fun
>>98192279Have you done playtest games? What does a game in progress look like
>>98192342>you need to ask some people to playtest your gamewell... about that...I live in a rather small village and finding play testers has proved impossibleso, I had to test it all on my ownmy game lacks a heart; it has no soul...it's robotic, a machine that spurrs and whirrs; it moves as it should, but still
>>98192385do you have friends? you can ask them to play test your gamedon't be too harsh over your game, maybe it is very good!
>>98192418>do you have friends?noQ_Q
>>98192451Do you have tabletop simulator or did you print out a prototype? How small of a village are we talking
>>98192461I print itand I live in a village of 24550 inhabitants
>>98189687>>98191518she cute
bandai threatening us with a new tcg
>>98193018Which game will they kill? Union Arena?
>>98193018I can't even find players for Gundam in southern Ontario, and they're making ANOTHER fucking game? At least build up the others first, goddamn.
>>98193018spreading themselves a bit thin, methinks
>>98193018I hate theor box text and highlights
>>98193488You should know that's not true by now.Bandai's model is to rotate through IPs and games to maximize their earnings. They've been doing this for a long time. They will continue to do it. It works.
>>98184985gun to your head, instant speed interactions and counterspells OR trap cards
>>98194145Zombie game is played at sorcery speed with trap cards
