Frank Frazetta edition>What is /awg/? A thread to talk about minis and games which fall between the cracks, or peoples' homebrew wargames. The >>>/tg/hwg thread doesn't entertain fantasy (for good reason) and the other threads are locked to more specific games. This thread isn't tied to a game, a publisher, or a genre. Let's just talk about fun wargames. Any scale, any company, any miniatures. >Examples of games that qualify. A Song of Ice and Fire, Argatoria, Batman Miniature Game, Carnevale, Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings, Deadzone, Dragon Rampant, Dropfleet & Dropzone Commander, Freebooter's Fate, Frostgrave, Full Spectrum Dominance, Gaslands, HeroClix, Kings of War, Lords & Legends, Maelstrom's Edge, Malifaux, Marvel Crisis Protocol, Masters of the Universe: Battleground, Moonstone, Oathmark, OnePageRules, Open Combat, RelicBlade, Rumbleslam, SAGA, StarCraft, Stargrave, Sludge, Urban War, Void Admiral, Warcaster, Warmachine, Xenos Rampant, Xenotactics... ...and anything else that doesn't necessarily have a dedicated thread. >Examples of companies providing rules and/or miniatures for alternative wargames. Archon Studio, Atomic Mass Games, Black Site Studios, CMON, Goblin King Games, Lucid Eye, Mantic, North Star Military Figures, OnePageRules, Osprey, Para Bellum, Seb Games, Spellcrow, TTCombat, Victrix, Wargames Atlantic, Warlord Games... ...and many other publishers. >Places to get minis; Updates to the minis list are welcome. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1D2DbNJ2mYAUxh5P9Pq9NZqS5tXHGn0i2JhZchEwbA2I/edit https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/373197.page >Novice Troves, meant to serve as a sampler of available systems. >>98235431>TQHome made terrain. I just finished a 3x3 modular game board.
>>98235514May we see it?
>TQThe group member who hosts has a 3D printer so he has a bunch of printed terrain. Trees, houses, toppled pillars, and a couple crashed boats. The group will usually take one each to paint whenever he prints a new batch.
>TQSome MDF, some GW plastic, currently working on this >>98235120
>>98233836If you mean Eternal, its still available from Trenchworx, though they switched from Siocast to 3D printing. They also signed up with OPR's STL thing they are doing.
>>98235624When I get home ill take a few pictures and post it sans the chubby goth girl.
Thinking of grabbing these files as my next print project for my medieval fantasy table. They'll work as campaign tents for my knights, and I can do them all up in bright colors for that vibrant medieval vibe.
>TQHere's the terrain I've made with my son, plus some 1/72 plastic italeri bunkers. I think I'll buy a couple of WGA shipping containers once they're released and I'd like to make some water terrain too.
>>98235804>I have a stellar gaming table in Canada
>>98235431trying to build one for Frostgrave. need to find some nice buildings and keeps. Got translucent blue resin to start printing some big ice features. Working on 2 warbands while trying to build a table is a mess though
>>98235912Ulvheim terrain has the right look for Frostgrave and there's a bumch of devent free files.
> TQBattleforge cardboard terrain. You get a shitload of stuff, what's shown here is not even half of one box. Super easy and fast to assemble and very affordable. Just keep it away from fat and clumsy friends, they'll send the whole board flying with one big hand motion. Hex mat since you cannot have a ruler in between this terrain for fear of knocking everything over, but I prefer hexes anyway. Finally played some Guards of Traitor's Toll. Got this box probably half a year ago. It's pretty fun. Great concept and I can't wait to delve into all the missions. The tutorial mission dragged on a bit I must say but it looks like the real scenarios are a bit more interesting, also the progession/legacy mechanics seem very appealing.
>TQmainly self-made, but I've been getting bunch of stuff printed, mostly trees or bits I can't make myself too wellalso bought some sets to do later for sci-fi and fantasy games, thinking of making a smaller board for Greathelm as well>>98235845I read that this guy's stuff is sometimes not too well made for printing. But I've been eyeing with some of their stuff too. That river ambush fort or whatever tickles my imagination for game scenarios. Like a goblin warband lives there and another wants to steal their treasure, and each player gets to choose which 2-3 bonus options they get from a ppol of 5-6. For example a hired sapper to blow a hole in the wall or harpies to drop attackers in the fort, or additional fighters, armaments, traps etc.
>>98235924nice, thanks anon. Stuff looks good. trying to start a scene is hell, but help is always nice made some treasure tokens to zone out
