>After Blood Sorcery in its various forms, what's the #1 Discipline you don't know, but you wish you did?
>>
>TQ
I hope Zoryana teaches me extrasensorial perception...
>>98239956
>take the soft option
Sure, the first draft of the plan was straight up pure espionage then having Errand Chancellor direct the operations, do the Ventrue thing and seize the ground from under the cultists' feet, slow and steady, the Cammy way of expanding territories. But with your dossier we can have some members cut from the more observant Followers of Set.
>>98240732
>You either trust them implicitly or you have to treat them as a 'slavetaker in waiting'.
What does this power change when untrustworthy humans exist too, Kindred can forge blood bonds with or without it, and the 1st or 2nd thing you all told me was not to trust any and all vampires, even yourselves, and not just a handful of clans?
No, I think Mèo's problem with using mind control is more personal and has little to do with wanting to be seen as a trustworthy Kindred, when such a thing hasn't been invented yet. Yay.
>Ahh, see there we go. I mean if you have to enforce your 'polycule' with the most addictive substance on the planet, I doubt you can say that's more free then what Princess' sire was doing.
Enforce what? Nope, nobody ordered Magpie or Sparrow to become the friends with benefits of like half of the boys! This kind of relationship(s) I was talking about is entirely between humans, and on the other side of the Masquerade. Sparrow even "knew" them, in the biblical sense of the word, before they met Zoryana.
So what if our blood dolls want to date one another or even have group sex, as long as they don't fight, dinner is served and the First Tradition is upheld? I may have died a virgin, but I don't wish the same fate on our herd, let them share their own kind of pleasure on top of the pleasure a Kindred's Kiss can give. On this side, we do not enforce or oppose anything of the sort.
Through all your centuries, did you screen each of your vessels' private life like a Ventrue, who needs a cherry-picked herd all for himself?
>>
I spotted our Princess talking to a cat, she got mad, a different kind of mad, like the not angry, disappointed kind of mad, hope that makes sense. Told me to get out, didn't even raise her voice.

My body got out. I remember my body getting on the truck. Next thing I know I'm in this club in the Rack with Wren wrapped around my arm. Birthday date. Right.

This stranger puts his hand on the table and makes inappropriate comments about "WMAF couples" wherein "the girl looks like she works in a rice paddy." I'm like: "Let's continue this conversation outside. Like gentlemen." Wren says he's no gentleman, just a p***y.

Down in the alley, I block the imbecile's punch, then something hits him from behind, three times. It's Wren, she's holding a brick. He goes down, she doesn't stop hitting the man's cranium. Then the blood doll tells me to help her drag him onto the truck, yells: "Poor man's EMS coming through! Medical emergency and no insurance! Wee-ooo! Wee-ooo!" Once inside tells me she made dinner for Lianhua. Wasn't she jealous of that Chinese Giovanni?

The hell's wrong with this chick.

At home, said Chinese Giovanni pats Wren's head and pinches her cheek, cue obligatory "Good girl." Wren calls everybody in Castle Errand: "Who wants to see our superheroine feed on a racist?"

Horror movies got nothing on Lianhua. She was moaning and laughing. While feeding. My God his screams. Tells me not to worry about the body: "The Giovanni have excellent funerary services." Don't know if "afterglow" is a thing, I swear the lady's skin was literally shining in that red dress.

One hour later we're in a comedy horror, Sal and Stella park a hearse in front of Castle Errand. Lianhua walks past Sal and his open arms, she hugs Stella instead. Sal walks up to me, speaking body language: "Psst. Take the hint, man. Ask your Princess. Make this girl a ghoul already." Wren's eyes SPARKLE. As the 2 Gios leave with the dead racist, Stella says: "My condolences." They burst out laughing.

>Literal blood-sucking vampires.

I laughed sardonically at this.

>>98245705
>An interesting choice of weapon.
Must be one of those legendary "soft bricks" I've heard about. The kind that gently render you unconscious instead of fucking dead.
>>
>>98245775
This soft brick - still assuming Errand Knight saw the weapon properly - had to be light enough for Wren to lift it over her head with those broken spaghetti she was born with instead of arms. The dentistry student's cooking took a little inner strength and inspiration to make, but the flavor was harmonious and worth it.

Now imagine EK and Wren living in the past two centuries, ridding the world of racism by bonking entire nations, and I swim in seas of blood. Yum.
>>
>>98243753
>what about the humans
It doesn't diminsish that a Ventrue, can do with a glance, that a torturer could not do in a year. I won't talk about this further, because princess' silence is doing most of the talking here.

>those cultists just joined us on our eternal quest to slake our thirst. It's entirely reasonable for the Kine to worship Kindred. Not a hinderance at all, not compelled at all.

My ghouls have been picked for their skillset, you should try to remember in that bondhaze of yours that the only 'pleasure' you have to offer is death. You chortled about the racist but you're doing the same thing to those dolls.

Been a long time since I had to wear a dinner jacket. Wish me luck.

Lianhua is educating me about Chinese fashion, I didn't think it'd be so interesting.

In the US she often wears a qipao. It's simultaneously a symbol of early Chinese feminism in the 1st half of 20th century Shanghai, and very fetishized. The qipao, or cheongsam, is rooted in Manchurian designs from the Qing Dynasty, the last imperial dynasty who influenced all US perception of Chinese culture.

In the PRC the Han are 92% of the people and are no longer ruled by the Manchu, she dresses as a politician, that is, a Westerner, because it signifies a greater status, and because the Han blame the Manchu for the Century of Humiliation and failing to save and modernize the country.

She said today the hanfu is just a subculture in China while a kimono and yukata are capital C Culture in Japan. The hanfu's history was interrupted by government-mandated clothing designs even before communism, and revived in 2003 by an electrician. Meanwhile the Japanese kept wearing their traditional clothes at ceremonies and festivals. Chinese female students in Japan started wearing hanfu at their graduation.

In a hanfu Lianhua feels comfortable and feminine, a qipao also gives her freedom of movement, practicality and more options to style her hair. And it's way sexier.

Everything in Asia is so full of politics and meaning. Clothes makes the man. Or woman. If you know your stuff you can tell a person's status with a glance, whether it's a period drama or the streets of today.
>>98246928
We rescued Wren from a stalker! Why would you think it's the same as bonking a racist and let a Giovanni drain them to death? The cultists were perfectly at ease throwing their money at a couple of fellow mortals, now they're the ones receiving a "reprieve from the tedium of 21st century life", is there any wonder they come to hang out as many nights as their life lets them? The herd is so large they could never go anemic.
Zoryana once said: "Good boys and girls don't need discipline. Or Disciplines."

>My body got out. I remember my body getting on the truck. Next thing I know I'm in this club in the Rack with Wren wrapped around my arm. Birthday date. Right.
This may be wishful thinking on my part, but the best case scenario here is that, perhaps, between the tenacity of Wren's attachment to him, and having tasted some vitae from Lianhua straight from the source, our Knight is starting to finally free himself from the Blood Bond arranged by my Sire without my consent.

Anything less than the best case scenario means something, or someone, is messing with his brain.

He shouldn't register what happened as "My body got out", he should have felt as if he left my room willingly and happily wagging his tail. More concerning still are those lapses in his memory. Didn't Lyuba see him spend 50 minutes to choose his clothes for the date with Wren? Why would he say: "Birthday date. Right." as if he was confused about it? Even if he forgot me, he should remember her at least.

Hmmm. The memory of his embrace and meeting my sire also had some conspicuous holes. You have to wonder if that Malkavian did more to this high schooler than just drain him and feed him thaumaturgically preserved Assamite vitae.

I don't have the natural or supernatural charm, grace, or force of personality of my fellow Kindred. Wren even called me gross on our first meeting. We have the first Tradition because mortals are far from defenseless.
>you were given power, now do something worthwhile with it
Tell that to your nearest Elder.
>You are a fledling you tramp.
Tabarin, Tabarin, Tabarin. I've tried the patient listener routine, clearly didn't work out. What did Zoryana do to you, that outspoken enemies of your sect, OUR sect, whose ethics or lack thereof chill me to the bones, were friendlier and more eager to teach us than you, even after we refused their offer to join them? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Is it because we didn't go to the cities you suggested? Do you want us out of the Camarilla? Do you want me to admit I'm evil? What do you want?
>>
>>98253443
>We have the first Tradition because mortals are far from defenseless.
Right, which is why you shouldn't fuck with them more then you need to. WE have a problem when piss ants who've been alive 5 mins forget that every human they mess with has a mother father brothers, and more.

>Tabarin you weren't very friendly
Oh no. Did I hurt your feelings. Get that nincompoop comptroller of a ventrue you have to socratic method that with you. Huh, this guy who seems interested is giving mixed messages, while this guy who you admit is your enemy. He is very friendly to you. What could possibly be the motive. It's just incomprehensible.

Mutually attracted sort of violently explosive towards each other. Matters of heart are not my forte, however, so I shall not pry. It's wonderful to see somebody make something of their unlife, anyways, treasure it. Intense emotions and grand pursuits are perhaps the best antidote to going mad as the years march on.

>>98249329
Oh my. I like the little hat on my green rodent. I should get one of those. And maybe ammo for the Tommy gun we got, while it's not really useful for much, it's still quite the nifty toy. I remember all the discontent over them getting introduced, the moral panic. Good nights, those were.
Victoria's busy making solid and chain shots for her punt gun, by the by, and she thanks you for what's presumably advice for her. Not sure how much bigger a punt gun we can find, and she's not really a Potence expert, so there is a limit to what she can haul about without impeding her agility, but, advice is advice. Appreciated as always!

that image is perhaps the objective peak of this thread. i could throw a million dollars at artists and this will still come out on top. it's just perfection. i can imagine Mèo exceptionally carefully operating MS Paint while shaking from left to right a little in immense concentration, driven by divine inspiration to position the EXACT little vampire pepe for Colma, exactly where it should be.

Me and Lianhua went to give a good look at the temple. We hid ourselves, then she said we weren't alone. "Didn't see you there. How goes yer trainin'?" It was Rump's boy with too much to share about the Setites. He led us someplace safer. I told him it's the ugliest building in the French District.

My first disciple quoted a Chinese idiom then went straight to the point: "An inch of land is an inch of gold. Morgaine wants that s******e." Shouldn't it be 'square inch?' The Nossie cussed in some language I don't know and kicked a rock. I tried to de-escalate to no avail. He went on a lengthy rant about the Toreador Primogen, whom he calls a 'c**t', and 'those G*******d f*****g f***y w****s hoggin' all tourists.'

Lianhua issued her ultimatum:
"Choose how this story ends.
One. Our coterie fails to deliver the goods then SWAT agents and/or Kindred dressed as them shoot up the place. Drugs, prostitution, you know what's in there, we don't have to guess, it's all of the above.
Two. City officials find out those poor innocent souls were less than perfect with taxes and paperwork, oh no! But wait, there's more: heresies within the little temple are suddenly discovered by the bigger one! A disappearance here, a domestic 'accident' there, maybe I hit the jackpot, and find a walking bloodbag who's enough a freak to actually like my fangs' sting, even.
Three. The Setite parish as it is f***s off and everyone continues to do their business where the Toreadors can't see it."

The guy spat blood and roared with that mouth full of fangs: "F*****G WHERE!?" She teased him: "Maaaybe somewhere bigger, and also far away from the golf course? Tick tock, handsome boy~" He didn't like it, again I tried to de-escalate: "Please don't shoot the messenger. We're all just pawns in the Elders' hands anyway. Help us help you help the Setites find a path of least resistance."

"Elders, huh. Can't win with dem a******s." The Nossie waved, put his hands inside the trenchcoat's pockets, and left.

I am indeed afraid of you, Lady Asano. You are one of the most fearsome Kindred I know the existence of, and a proud, restless, energetic Elder who leads from the front and would even walk under the sun, rather than a stereotypical, torpid ancient sleeping beneath the surface of the Earth.
I dare not think of the reason one such as you would wish to meet me in person, when you must be so busy managing your vast international network of connections and operations, and your Childe sleeps under the same roof with us, and she could relay any messages of yours with ease.

Well. Rumples little disagreement with his own sire has dredged up some things in me. I've just spent an entire evening staring into a fire, lost in my own memories.

I don't really remember the moment of my Embrace. Commodore Decatur had just returned from the second Barbary War and I had gone out celebrating his victory. Me and pretty much everyone else. Whichever drinking establishment I cared to poke my head in, once it came out that I was late not only of the Marine Corps but had served 15 years under his command... Lets just say it was a small miracle I had a few drops of blood left in my alcohol stream. I was stumbling about the streets of New York, singing "When the Warrior Returns"

https://youtu.be/ZtnCzIN0P2Q?is=zCP9nV73QB00pIGI

and the next thing I know I'm waking up just as the sun is going down out in the forests somewhere with that soul crushingly empty feeling...

Anyone else feel like sharing?
>>
>>98262939
My memory is still fresh.
Lady Asano was generous enough to let me choose the place of my Embrace, a reward for serving as her a ghoul for so many years. My appearance was already taken care of as she knows how to craft flesh and bone, my skin has been smoother than a baby for decades.
The day before, she used her magic that restores her life and defies the sun. I held her parasol as we went for a walk over the Great Wall and I cooked for her and myself a feast worthy of an emperor, which took a whole week to prepare, particularly marinating the duck.
I still had the bamboo bit gag she gives her blood dolls, it's been well over a century since I last fed her, I wanted to wear it myself, but my Sire insisted and took care of the knots.
She sat on her throne on a tiger pelt, magnificent, and I laid before her with my knees and head on the mansion's floor, wearing naught but said gag and other red ropes she so skillfully arranged around me.
Then midnight came.
Two Beasts awakened, a dragon above, the tiger below, they danced, they fought the struggle within for dominance of their respective worlds, and the struggle without between Heaven and Earth.
Yet this fight was over in a single instant, for the outcome was already written: a Celestial Mandate, the divine right to rule, a pre-established harmony.
My Mistress, Domitor and now Sire, ever superior, staring into my eye, as her fangs broke my skin and she took every last drop, a pain I had almost forgotten, but that night would only grow and grow.
Then, I rose, a new daughter of Caine, with an euphoria greater than any I will ever feel, even greater than when I first ingested a Kindred's vitae.
Lady Asano fed me and washed me like a newborn, and then clothed me.
I said to her: "I am home, Mother."
She looked at me, stroked my hair, wiped a bloody tear from her eye and kissed me - just with her lips this time. She bore two children before her own Embrace.
>>

I was getting very drunk, don't even really remember why. My guy baited me into a bar fight and then beat me to death. Then he Embraced me. I was the unlucky sort, so the injuries stuck. It's pretty hard to get up with broken bones, and he wanted me upright, so he had one of his buddies use a weird, definitely not Brujah trick to make me able to stand, then beat me to torpor, as a bit of fighting practice.
He didn't like blood bonds, so he instead just held the trick over my head. If I didn't play along with whatever dumb fucking plan he had on a given night, his friends wouldn't fix me the next one. By the time I healed enough to get up, I'd be delirious with hunger, and that's if I could heal enough.

He's dead now. Made that friend eat him, and then curbstomped the diablerist. It's a crime, after all, don't want criminals around, now do we.

some nights i wonder idly if knowing my origins would make me a better or worse individual.

such is the life of a caitiff, i think. so often mocked by my peers for a lack of lineage and dissent and watching them build their little sandcastles and mud-huts. pretending to fill the shoes of their sires like they mean anything. as if they are anything but degenerations for all it means to their lineage.

perhaps it is better to not worry of such things?

Whatever happened to that Ventrue kid you were hanging with? Did he end up biting the dust during that kerfuffle in New York?

1976. Carter was going head to head with Ford, Jobs and the Woz were forming Apple Inc, California spanked France in winemaking and music was breaking out of the awful funk of the past ten years.
I was out of a show over in Daly, some Punk band with an awful name. Couldn't afford to gas up my bike because the zine's publisher was a broke dipshit. But that was fine. A nice walk was just what I needed before getting home to my girls and my typewriter. Bang out a review, maybe a few pages of that book; real gonzo journalist shit.
I never even saw them coming. Was out for the whole grisly night. Piecemeal, I've been told I killed four or five people, including a Goth girl (post punk really) that was a blood doll of no less an august presence as the Prince of Colma. I didn't know any of that, I just woke the next morning with a feeling that I can only describe as a full body tooth ache while some weirdo monologged as he tried to shove my mouth onto some schlep neckand dragged me from ghe sunshine. He promised to explain things once I helped him wrangle the other Licks just writhing around the place. We must have gotten an even dozen.
Between monologs, he explained. All of it. Vampires. The War. The rules of each side in the war. All he knew.
The Sabbat took it's two losses at the end, as two of us calmly walked out into the sun then and there, unable to accept it. Or maybe just unwilling to go on. I didn't ask. Just watched. A lot of the early days was just, watching.

Would it surprise you that the reason you get so much flak for not having a label because it means you are less predictable, which is the last thing the stagnate, hide bound elders pulling the strings want?
Just find some fellows who don't give a damn, who'd rather work with you build a nice fortress instead of try to steal the stones. Or join us out here beyond the city lights in the back woods. Plenty of blood out here, and not as many wolves as the elders tell you there are.
There are just worse things than the wolves out here, but just go TOO deep.

I mean, from the point of view of another clanless, suppose an older Kindred has a problem with you. They could threaten you to tell your sire, or just do it and have the sire scold or punish you, in other words, if you have a sire they can use them against you. Besides in the Camarilla one needs the Prince's permission to embrace and stuff. You have fewer strings for people to pull, you only answer to your coterie/pack instead of someone older, they assume you haven't been trained, that's quite a lot of reasons to be distrusted, and this isn't even touching the horror stories I heard about what goes in New York after its war with some Caitiff.

The Winnipeg “Situation” (Recap 10)

Alright.

So.

> The Prince is Dead
> This isn't even the worst news
> Let's get that out of the way right now, Pontius ripped her apart and gutted her in the morning
> The Sabbat and the “Treaty Army” (as Horns has taken to calling us) found out at the same time the night before
> Pilsudski managed to piss off one of her ghouls enough he blabbed in public her safe-house location
> We are trying to save our resources and tried to find a cover opening.
> Pontius didn't need to even try. Basically pulled another mass-embrace out of his ass and slammed the results down Pilsudski's location
> Seems the Prince had a few more retainers left than we expected, along with land-mines, but after getting worn down by two dozen freaks dominated into a human wave?
> Well, Pontius was lucky enough to get Pilsudski dragged out for him by the surviving trio of shovelheads
> Executed her right there, pulled her head off, ripped her heart out, and shredded what was left to gore
> First time he's actually looked like a Gangrel to me, really
> When all the pretenses of civilization he wears like the dumb fucking laurel came off and I saw his beast
> Wanting. For all his strength and all his 'friends.'

> This is bad. However I've got word that the three Templars from down south are about to reach town.
> And the War-Party led by THAT GUY from Quebec is essentially waiting for their moment. THAT ONE is in Thunder Bay right now and probably en-route.
> Likewise, Kill Team Caenis is getting the fuck out of town and is planning to burn down a portion of Winnipeg on the way out
> Probably already started as Pontius has made it very clear he's exterminating every ghoul and non-Sabbat actors present and they choose continued unlife
> So. To that end. We are pulling out to the periphery for the moment.
> Letting Pontius 'have his triumph.'

> He doesn't seem like the type to take an easy victory however and we're going to hope he falls for the bait.
> Also. I have yet unconfirmed reports our little Serendipitous Sorcerer has turned traitor.
> Was seen in the war party of Pontius personally, I mean
> Which would explain why so many of our near-sanctuaries have been raided and why we're doing what we're doing
> I will offer no comment on this Judas action as I'm sure the rest of you will have enough words for all of us

> What matters is this, the storm is calling and we need only have patience and faith in that world
> And ourselves
> Let the Romans have their moment in the moonlight
> Let them have tonight
> For everyone here? Follow your orders and wait for the signal.
> And I'm going to give you tomorrow.

All Malkavians are subject to influences, but... The Cat is uniquely susceptible to unconsciously catching stray thoughts and omens and writing them down wherever. When she isn't under the influence or stress at least she's able to be herself. Discounting manic bouts and the intense depression.

Last two times it was regular were the Slumbering Thing under Marquette and the God in the Rockies.

Two many times for my liking.

>>98262939
I suppose if your curious.

All the things I've learned long after are more real than the things I had before. Going into the wilderness. Well, that was a lot more real in some ways than the time before the bite. But thinking on it (to avoid thinking about my present) I'm pretty sure I went out on my own. Into the woods.

Remember getting the bite about the back of my neck. Getting thrashed. Thought it was a big cat and I thrashed back. I don't have much else though.

Don't know how much of the wildness you kept. But mine kept me much longer. Stays with me even now.

>>98270520
Omens of Death are very real. When I yet drew breath I once had a young corporal come in from night watch with a look on his face as though he had seen tge gallows he would be mounting momentarily. When I asked what the Devil happened on watch, thinking he had gotten sick how, he looked me in the eye and said he had seen his own fetch in the tops last night.

I suppose I should elucidate: a fetch is a is, at it's most basic, a spirit that appears in the guise of another who is marked for death. Though most often it is NOT the man so marked who sees the fetch.

Sure enough, we soon gave battle to the HMS Macedonian, and that young Corporal lost his head to British Chain-shot up in the fighting tops.

With all the railways and waterways Winnipeg boasts, it'll make a hell of a beach head. Yessir. Every corner of western Canada will be ripe for the Crusading. Enough to fufill Pontius ambitions to be named Cardinal.
As Sabbat, it is my duty to reccomend to you to surrender and join. You aren't Camarilla, have comported yourself in the way a vampire ought. You even have a fearsome reputation among we Californian Sabbats for your actions in Marquette, and it'd be my honor to come to Winnipeg and speak on the group's behalf, to preside over a Vaulderie whuch will found the packs that will span the continent. >Did he end up biting the dust during that kerfuffle in New York?
Almost. He went into torpor after taking out the dragon. We initially figured it was just him ending up utterly spent, because he likes playing hero way too much to just fucking leave when he clearly should, or maybe his grandpa's prehistoric Ventrue bullshit had its side effects. Took us a week or so of him just not healing, but also not turning to dust, to figure out what's going on. The problem is a poison that keeps him on second death's door, more or less. Nothing we tried thus far worked to break it.
We're optimistic, thanks to the local Internet cat, which is fucking foul, because I otherwise keep a very clean track record of not ever willingly trusting a Malk's bullshit.

Zoryana's whole strategy was making the alleged "neutral gound" as little as neutral as we could make it: espionage, setting up "amenities" in the warehouse - including some unwanted furniture we didn't dispose of yet - being first on the scene and arming us to the teeth before the first Setite showed up. When they did, we looked like the guards of a dictator lady sat behind a huge desk, all we needed was a pair of flags to either side. It's hard to believe this place became the setting of a huge party, given the rough start.

When the Setites did start showing up, Zoryana put the pressure on them right away, demanding to meet the leader of their congregation, saying she didn't have the time for them - yes, there is some irony here given how much we prepared for this, but she wasn't completely wrong...

Enter the Head Priest, he sinks in the couch we set up before the desk with a dark skinned woman on either side. The Princess takes off her sci-fi shades. The conversation starts like this:
Head Priest: "Just who the hell do you think you are, ordering my flock around?"
Zoryana: "Bark."
Head Priest: "Woof."

A freezing wind appears outta nowhere, the Setites reach for their weapons, but we're faster.
Andrei: "Halt!"
Errand Knight: "Keep your hands where I can see them!"
Lianhua: "Too slow on the draw~"
Zoryana: "You may come out now."

A Nosferatu falls down from some shadow on the ceiling, and slow claps.
Rump's Boy: "Jeez. Almost feels like I got a pulse again-"
Zoryana: "Not you! I meant the lady over there."
Rump's Boy: "Oh?"

Zoryana points to some corner and a Whoopi Goldberg lookalike, leader of the New Orleans Setites, materializes, and pats the tattooed bald white head of the priest, she raises an eyebrow.
Manon: "Whatcha doing, fillette?"
Zoryana: "Saving the souls of your believers from this apostate and from Primogen Morgaine, Manman."
Head Priest: "WHAT THE F**K!? BULL! F*****G! S**T!"
Manon: "Really?"
Zoryana: "The files, Jack."
Errand Chancellor: "Good evening, Miss Manon. We can e-mail you the rest if you'd like."
Rump's Boy: "Someone's been a bad doggy~"
Manon: "You renounced the ways of Vodou?!"
Head Priest: "F*****G LIARS- AIEEEE!!!"

Manon does something (?) to the priest, he shuts up when he finishes screaming.
Zoryana: "The warehouse, Jack."
Errand Chancellor: "Please sign here and this here facility will become your new temple."
Manon: "And the fine print?"
Chancellor: "The nearby Brujah will not bother you if you agree on these terms..."
Manon: "Exclusive deal-? Aw, ****** please!"
Lianhua: "...or the Giovanni. Call me if you have a problem."
(No! I'm not going to repeat in writing what Manon said there! Don't ask!)

Manon glares at Lianhua, the latter writes something more on the document and they both sign it.
Zoryana: "Relocating the temple to this warehouse was this fledgling's idea, Manman."
Errand Knight: "Good evening, Elder... I wish to learn the art of... partying?"
Lianhua: "Pfft. I can't."
Manon: "Hah! Who you think you callin' an Elder? Come, trésor, we hafta inaugurate the venue!"
Zoryana: "Where are my manners? Let's introduce ourselves properly..."
Rump's Boy: "That's my cue. Bye, I got stuff to-"
Manon: "Nope. You stay."
Rump's Boy: "Aw, man..."

Zoryana forbade me from sharing what happened when the warehouse became a temple. I'm going to pretend to sleep now.

>>
>>98280507
Kindred in this city are a bizarre bunch. The Ventrue don't rule. The Toreador are conquerors. The Brujah are more hierarchical than the Ventrue. The Nosferatu don't like the sewer system. The Setites are from Haiti, say they descend from Damballah, their leader is less than 100 years old and doesn't seem to know the first thing about Egypt - are these even Setites anymore? The Tremere are enemies of the Tremere - no wait, that's perfectly normal.
So who's the most normal in New Orleans? Us Giovanni? The few Samedi? Kindred tourists?
>>
>>98280507
They set themselves up when they founded a temple in the French Quarter where all the tourists go, right in front of Morgaine's crosshair, as if she wouldn't find out.

But these are not our adversaries! Nay! They are friends~

And when you have complete morons for friends, you just have to nudge them in the right direction, or harnessing the power of idiots, to quote Lianhua's Sire~
Morgaine sent me to uproot them, Damballah sent me to save them~

Now, for the interesting part, what can we get out of the Clan of the Rose, I wonder...

I'm more shocked at the absolute amateur hour thinking on display. A clan that is universally distrusted walks into a meeting without any backup plan, so they're forced to bargain from a position of weakness.

Good thing they didn't have some boys armed with shotguns lurking outside the warehouse, hidden by Obfuscate. Sure, Zoryana might be able see them; doesn't do the rest of her group any good.

Good thing the Setite didn't respond to Zoryana's use of Dominate by paralyzing her with their hypnotic snake eye trick. Or using their extendo-knife-tongue trick to puncture her brainpan.

Lucky thing they all decided to just turn their brains off for the night. As I said, we should all be so lucky in our dealings.

But they were always in a position of weakness! The first thing I wanted Rump's boy to tell them was Morgaine wanted their place. They counted their forces and chose survival. Lucky? Amateurish? Even here, it seems there is no respite from Malk soothsayers. However, you have a point. Perhaps he might be useful for drawing out the other wretches targeting my domain. Maybe even his grandsire. I'll have my Sweeper show him the ropes. If he's tainted, we'll be in a position to eliminate him quickly. If not, we might be able to wrongfoot our enemy. Let the Sword of Caine believe me ripe for beheading. It will be their final mistake.

In slightly less yet still concerning news, there's been rumors circulating about kine who are somehow capable of spontaneously breaching the masquerade. My sources describe them as ordinary mortals without the aura you might expect from willworkers, ghouls, or lupines. Yet they can allegedly shrug off dominate, see through the blush of life and even obfuscation, and they can access strange disciplines that can, for example, make lethal weapons out of mundane objects. They are also apparently insane, and follow the will of voices in their minds commanding them to seek us out. I'm honestly a bit relieved about this part, as one could easily write them off as schizophrenic and have them eliminated through mortal institutions. This smacks of cleverly concealed Malk ghouls, but even that doesn't seem to fit. Could be the elusive dream folk, but they don't often seek our kind out. Probably a long shot to ask, but have any of you encountered kine like this?

It's rather difficult to organize blood hunts without the incentive of diablarie. We have been fortunate enough to avoid that extreme measure so far, but that may change in the coming nights.

Do these strange kine have tribal markings, religious symbols, distinctive clothing, a shared ethnic background or any other thing that could help distinguish them, or that unites them?
I am asking because your message reads a lot like the stories about True Faith I was taught about. They go as far as to say that during the time of Muhammad, there was such powerful faith, Kindred who attempted to enter the holiest cities of the nascent Islam would turn to dust.
Imagine a mortal developing a stronger conviction, fanaticism and aggression towards Kindred than your typical werewolf, acting as if the stories kine tell themselves about destroying our kind with the power of God had a kernel of truth.
Is your territory infested by a kine cult or charismatic preacher on the rise, perchance?
>>
Hey Lucky Che, wherever you are. Think we should fill my house with a fuckload of explosives and let Pontiac and/or Kyle Strathcona blow themselves up when they show up to kill us?
>>
>>98282370
I couldn't say for certain as I haven't laid eyes on these kine myself, but my sources didn't indicate any kind of consistency between them besides their shared abilities. I'll have them double check, but they usually screen for religious inclinations when monitoring parties of interest, as this is usually a warning sign for the Second Inquisition. Even with the increased Sabbat activity, I would be surprised if we'd drawn enough attention to ourselves to warrant their gaze. The Pacific Northwest is pretty distant from their usual strongholds, or so I'm told. All this being said, you may be onto something with "True Faith". The disciplines they invoke seem to be tied to specific pseudo-ritualistic movements or words into which they channel their "conviction", according to my sources. I'd like to keep them at a distance, but interrogation may be necessary with all the ambiguities we face. At very least, I need to be sure they aren't puppets of the Sabbat or another upstart kindred.
>>
>>98282466
El Jefe, I'll deliver it soon as I can. You want manual det or booby trap?
>>
>>98282469
Hedge Mages are my secondary hypothesis, they both have distinctive auras compared to the true Awakened ones, and strange powers which could match the ritualistic movements you describe, but this murderous hatred towards Kindred just isn't typical.
As is known, if you have too many walking Masquerade breaches, a third party might think of removing you from the picture together with the mad kine; meaning your clinical, observant eye of the scientist, who just wants to understand, may need to make way for the weapons of the general on the battlefield, seeking more practical results, urgently so.
>>
>>98282523
Great. Well that takes interrogation right out. If they are hedge wizards with a bone to pick with our kind, then the last thing I want to do is piss off their Awakened master. The Tremere are usually cagey about the information they share, but I have learned that practitioners of "True Magik" can pass their "paradigms" down to their lackeys for a modicum of their power. Kinda like ghouls, in a way. Hmmm. Perhaps they can be redirected towards mutually beneficial targets.
>>
>>98282516
Hmmm... I can see pros and cons to both. My gut is going with booby trap though.
>>
>>98282569
Well, interrogation was already going to be problematic when they resist Dominate, whichever is the cause. And having one's enemies fight other enemies, as supremely seductive and satisfactory as it can be, is often put aside when there is a concern the fight will degenerate into an arms race over who gets to punch the biggest hole in the Masquerade.
Not easy, is it? Definitely not as easy as what my little Coterie's been dealing with as of late, and that's why you're the Baron and we run errands.

I probably should not admit this, as it does little for my Princely dignity, but it is always possible for one to overlook the blindingly obvious and appear a complete fool every now and again.

I recently had a breakthrough developing my skill with Auspex. Specifically the reading of the objects.

Now, in Jacksonville there is a a statue, erected in 1924, honoring the dead of WWI.
<---

Some of you can already see where this is going. For everyone else, well... I reasoned that an object with strong emotional residue and a prominent place in history would be much easier to read for a first timer such as myself. Oh, how right I was.

I have a headache. I will say that again. My head. Is. In. Pain. And my fingertips are still burned from where I touched it.
>>
>>98282644
It wasn't Auschwitz, at least.
>>
>>98282633
Give it time, little fledgling. You'll either end up ashes, or in charge of something if you survive long enough. I suppose we'll have to monitor the situation from a distance for now. If interrogation proves necessary, there's always the... mundane methods for extracting information. For now, the less involved we are, the more likely it is that the problem solves itself.

Also, word of advice, if you think your dealing with a small or manageable issue, then someone isn't telling you something. No offense, but I would never assign a coterie to something I could have a ghoul handle, and I would never assign a ghoul to something I could just bribe a mortal to do. If you and other kindred are in the picture, it's because something has gone wrong.

Aight. I've been keeping my yap shut about things because 1)This is a cammy board and anything I talk about WILL be used against us and 2)you probably won't believe anything other than "...and then the big bad Justicar blew away with shovelheads with sheer awesomeness and we all ran off into the night crying and shitting ourselves because the Sabbat are a bunch of big dumb doody heads." But it's high time to share some REAL war stories. Bear in mind this shit all has already happened up to a month ago so don't go thinking you can get sime headpats by riding in to save the day at the eleventh hour.

Got a Pack of four with me right now. I've mentioned Handsome Jack. We've also got a Tzim I only know as Green Man who looks like Peter Steele. Given he's a Tzim I'm 87.5% sure it's just a fleshcrafted disguise and he's not really Peter. And our Ductus is a 5'11" Bronzed Bombshell of a Lasombra named Alex. She's pretty ripped, might be stronger than even me. Right. On to our story.

>Arch-Bishop taps us to siege down a Camarilla Stronghold to close to Mexico
>Plan is to have us leas about 50 shovelheads into Las Cruces.
>big surprise there. So I say so.
>LITERALLY everyone thinks that's going to be our first move. They're obviously ready for something like that. We would tip our hand for nothing. So let our Pack go in first and see what we can see.
>Who knows, maybe we get in trouble and my Sire comes to bail me out?
>He won't but Archie doesn't know that.
>But he agrees. Gives us 48 hours to try and figure things out on our own.
>cool.
>For whatever reason, I've always been real good at the whole blush of life thing.
>So I go in first. Find the nightlife hotspots, the Rack.
>Cammies take their secrecy seriously. Finding them is always the hardest part.
>but I dress like I belong in a nightclub. Start near the Uni.
>Bouncer takes one look at me and ushers me straight in, sure I'll have Simps buying me drinks all night. More money for the club, right?
>>
>>98283958
>I play it to the hilt.
>hit the dance floor, shake all the right bits, get shiny and sweaty.
>the body glitter dosen't hurt.
>neither does my Presence
>all eyes are now on a barely dresser, aparently slightly drunk, redhead dancing with wild abandon.
>after a few dance partners I get what I'm after.
>Another Vamp.
>I know what to look for. Spot the telltale signs of a corpse playing human.
>And I know how this game is played. Usually I'm the Hunter in this scenario, but I know the other role well enough to make him think tonight is going to be an easy hunt.
>after we dance for a while I pant a bit, bite my lip, and look up at him through my lashes.
>Hook is set.
>lets go to a motel room
>where a lasombra and a Nos are hiding in the bathroom under the cover of both Obten and Obfuscate, while a 6'8" Tzim is ready to come from the next room and block the doorway.
>I've got my tape and his pants off when Green Man busts in
>To his credit, our Cammy reacts quickly Bolting up, tearing out of his pants instead of getting tangled up in them, and squares up with Green Man. Even though he's a Spikey ass roadblock right now.
>but tge double whammy of on obfuscated, potence backed punch to.the back of the head and shadows grabbing him from behind overwhelmed our guy.
>they truss him up in tge cuck chair while get some fresh tape on.
>Pete puts his bones back inside where they belong, thank God.
>Alex asks Jack if he cut the phone lines.
>He spits out a line that I think is Australian for Yes.
>We all know that he did already, but we wanted our Lick here to know he shouldn't he expecting help anytime soon.
>But he takes that in stride. Looks me in the eyes and says "Release Me!"
>Maybe he had me pegged as the weakest, hoped it woukd start a brawl as tge pack tried to stop me without seroisly fucking me up.
>Would make sense. Hard to mistake the Tzim or Nos and Alex had shown her Obten

No offence taken, as you preach to the converted, but in addition to the usual concerns about insufficient details or "unexpected" complications - we always do our own intelligence gathering before any undertaking - here in New Orleans there is certainly something more that went wrong, something systemic, when it has more Elysia than Clans, more than New York City, and about half of them degenerated into private, invite-only areas for this or that Primogen. Those Kindred have a monumental egomania even by ordinary Primogen standards, so I can't say I'm too surprised when they send the army to crush an ant, so to speak, as if sending an appropriately sized force could tarnish their prestige. My greater suspicion is that they're just terribly afraid of failure and of losing face, or lording Kindred of lower status like that feeds their narcissism.

I know there are Princes and other Barons reading this message board, I hope your Domains never descend into such collective folly.

>Eventually he spills. The Cam have an elder Gangrel who just sleeps out past the city limits in the dessert all day. We learn they organize regular patrols. >Alex wants to diablerize this guy right away.I say we shouldn't.
>He might be young but he's well connected enough to eat at the Rack. We need to let him go. He knows the info we have. Knows what we could do if he doesn't play it cool. What we WILL do.

First rule of Malkavian advice. The reading makes sense but there is absolutely no reason for it to make sense to you or the present. The Cat-Cat gives out actual passwords and concrete information at a disconcerting rate.
That time and date means something. I'd recommend doing some digging and seeing if anyone in your circle is affiliated with that. There's a few Shiloh's in the US. And at least one in the near east.
I'd also recommend keeping an eye out for hostile or 'friendly' Lasombra. That greeting makes my skin crawl.

>Well. Fuck.
>I step up to the Arch-Bishop and start whispering to him in Spanish.
>Gotta be careful here. Can't publicly gainsay an Arch-Bishop, I'm just a pack priest.
>So I tell him what we learned. And why it means the shovelheads are a bad idea.
>Your Grace, we have critical intelligence. The chicken shit Camarilla have the I-10 corridor under constant surveilance. If you send in a wave if Shovelheads, you will trigger their alarms and our prey will bolt to their fortified dens.
>I see his jaw tense up.
>Arch-Bishop will remember that.
>But cowardice is one if the biggest sins in the Sabbat. So I wonder how in the Hell my mouth can feel dry and barrel on ahead.
>There's another problem, Your Grace. The Sheriff. He's old. An Old Gangrel, and he rests out here, in the dessert.
>I hardly need remind Your Grace that numbers alone will not slow or tire an Elder with great Fortitude and Claws. It's not like Shovel heads have vitae to use or any idea what they are doing if they get some.
>the clenched jaw has turned into a full on scowl. He looks over at Alex and starts to open his mouth.
>Aw fuck. Did I lay it on too thick? Or not thick enough?
>Green Man saves my ass though. Shows the Arch the phone recording of Andrew spilling the beans.
>Jack backs him up. Everything checks out, your Grace. The sorry blighter weren't lying.
>the Arch-Bishop narrows his eyes, starts stroking one of his sixteen chins.
>I better back off now. He's considering. Better let him play this off as he revised the plan after getting new intel.
>I think it worked. He addresses the troops. Says there will be no need for shovel heads.
>Because OUR pack has just bravely volunteered to crack the city open.

> Sporadic fires were also lit in town. Currently that's getting blamed on summer heat but we all know what's happening?
> Kill Team Caenis's survivors mostly burned down what they could on the way out
> Attempts at flushing out the Sabbat for what comes next and the spite move
> One of whom defected to us to spite the Sabbat, rather than run back to British Columbia for severance pay
> We'll call this individual 'Golmi' and they've revealed a lot about things on the Camarilla front
> A portion of Sabbat pledging themselves to the cause of Pontius have already attacked Calgary, Edmonton, even Regina
> Apparently he's even got people in Thunder Bay jumping on the band wagon
> He even managed to bag one of the Templars, one from Texas, apparently he managed to take him alive

>>
>>98292660
A myth. Some Brujah like to pretend they are one of the so called "high clans" and they can do much more with their celerity than they actually can.
>>
>>98289593
Exciting, isn't it? To be face to face with a true horror, one wrangled about by inept, power-hungry kin of ours, and the rotten cousins of our lupine friends. Oh, to stand there, confronted with a thing-beyond, something that is truly, unambiguously, beyond-all-doubt evil and hostile to life itself! To know that every bullet you fire, every rite you perform, all of it truly works to save the world from something darker than dark.
This, this is what me and Victoria, to her vexation, spent well over a century preparing for, and what I myself spent even longer in anticipation of. Even if this is not exactly the scenario I was confident will eventually transpire, it's still close enough that our prepwork would be of decent use.
We willl triumph. We will wrench the wizardhat from the clutches of whoever holds him in truth, whether the wizard likes it or not. And Pontius will relent, or join the endless ranks of other petty kings who overreached, played with things that are beyond their understanding, and were devoured by those things.

>>98282153
If it's still relevant, I suggest revealing your new diablerist's existence to the notables of your barony and pitching his employment as that a diablerie is a crime against all Kindred, not just the party that got eaten. Something-something, it'd be barbaric and wasteful to just chop his head off, but he still is a criminal and a crime must be answered for, so to make it up to all of Kindred the kid will be used for all he's worth, for the good of all at that. This way it won't look like you're creating a double standard, where diablerie is fine if you benefit from it, and it also won't look like you'll react with immediate execution if somebody happens to eat somebody and comes clean to you about it to try and control the damage.
>>
>>98292699

The 'Temporis' powers I heard of just seemed like it. Essentially forcing someone to repeat an action, or deluding them into repeating a day, or in 'advanced cases' making them think they're slowed down

The Winnipeg “Situation” (Recap 12)

So. Guess we really got that 'Triumph' of the Sword of Caine huh?

Right- this might be my last post so. Gonna try and summarize everything for the record.

> As some of you might have guessed, our little “Operation Morning Star” has been a long time coming
> From the start we lacked the numbers to actually overtake the Sabbat around here and needed to whittle them down
> To win we'd need a few ounces skulduggery, William already knows the full story, but, I'll get to it here in a moment
> As far as (You), and the 'Sword of Caine' Pontius knew, I was basically going to have a suicidal last stand with a handful of misfits and strays
> Of course he didn't even come himself, no he sent his own dogs to wipe us out
> The ones of the Blood, and otherwise
> All while while he went off to crush the Templars and the 'Canadiens de Montréal'

> Now, for reference, something very funny happened when everyone set out to kill themselves, but you can wait that
> But for us, what matters is this; Me and Mine were, mostly in the Park by the river
> While Pontius went out alone hoping to draw out his enemies in his full Imperial outfit, wolf helmet and the works
> The Nerd

> Pontius succeeded. Headless Horseman tried to squash him with a truck when right out the gate.
> He technically succeeded, although it didn't really hurt him
> Rotten with the source of his Strength the Would-Be Regent was pushed right into the concrete
> The Horseman's remaining counterpart, the 'Hand of El Salvador', went for the kill while he could, which was probably the best option
> Well, Pontius yanked what was left of the vehicle and hurled it at the Templar, swatted him like a mouse hit by a cricket bat
> Now as the person who was seeing this couldn't understand Latin we don't know what Pontius was saying
> But it was obvious he was running his mouth

> When the Montréal Canadiens joined the fray no one could touch him, and meeting his gaze was raw agony to all
> It went very badly, especially with Pontius' lieutenants skulking around in the dark preventing his foes from truly swarming him
> Not very sportsmanlike, but, when you're shooting for a real mythic origin story, why not take a few shortcuts?

> Now for our little defence of the Park?
> Even at the best of times when you have a dozen assorted kin and Loups against three times that number, that would be a feat
> Didn't help that Pontius had sent Vulpes Noctus and the only one of the Spiral Dancers that could actually talk to try wheedling us first
> They were as charitable as they could be, a sadistic ladder climber and a servant of the devouring god
> Did not even try talking to me or Big-Pipe directly, tried getting everyone else to either cut and run, or to join the cult
> Benefits include being the one raping the world forever rather than being on the receiving end of super-hell-on-earth
> All while big and ugly laughed like a broken engine
> We almost got the ploy broken when Lucky Che got tired of them and hit them with a juice bomb
> Didn't do anything to the Dancer, but Vulpes managed to scream once before he dissolved into a pile of gore and ash
> Fortunately, the Turquoise legion and the Foederati were looking for a reason to attack, as were the Dancers
> Devolved into an orgy of violence, enough that they didn't catch the ritual markings we'd put up

> I'd like to add more here. But outside of a few moments of valour as we were waiting for it?
> I don't remember much
> I'd pulled on my war skin and let it lead me
> Fear almost got his head ripped off by one of the Dancers and landed a very nasty neck blow when it was poking the shell
> Like a dog getting its throat torn out by a Snapping turtle
> Very proud of you for that Nïa
> Gün, bless his heart was also brave. Horns, Golmi, all of them were
> But with these sort of numbers?
> We were doomed from the start
> Wasn't going well for the Templars and Quebecois either, around this point apparently Pontius was just hitting the Horseman with raw agony and laughing in the street like a shitty sith lord, anyone who got in the way got themselves hit with a Javelin that returned to his hand at a call
> The armour and grit had saved the Knight up to that point, but he was unable to get up, and the Hand of El Salvador had already been dusted

> Now, I want you to imagine you're in the middle of this bloodbath in the park
> Night is still lit up by some of the fires outside of the city, total chaos, some mother fuckers are even launching fireworks despite a curfew being in effect
> All while you're waiting for the storm to actually break
> Hell, isn't it?

> Couldn't tell you how long it was, all that matters is what happened next
> One of the Dancers finally got a message from their mage telling them to 'use Her in full'
> And the Mongrel Wyrm-Servants were all too happy to oblige
> Grabbed the nominal 'leader' of the Turquoise legion and sacrificed her right then and there, ripped into shreds
> And with the gore still fresh and screaming, the biggest of the trio muttered profane horrors to the darkness between webs
> Clawed hands grabbed the frayed edges of the Firmament. And tore into it.
> That thing. That thing which had cut my Cat to shreds with a glance. Which was the source of Pontius' power. It finally stepped out to play.

> It has many names, but for our purposes I will call it the Wyrmfinger Aife, Caliph of Pain, Face of the Urge of Cruelty

> In that space, as it stepped out into the physical world through the gaping wound, I saw many things simultaneously
> I saw a beautiful woman in depraved leather things, armed with a savage whip
> I saw her mangled corpse stood gaunt and rotting, but just as gleeful
> I saw agony that made my eyes tear up
> I saw her bloated reality, her flesh full of writhing movement and her body puppet along like a marionette, or maybe the better way to describe it would be... Like a mask, wearing her like that to think
> Can't tell you what was behind it, but if I live that will be with me for the rest of my life

> Finally.

> Big-Pipe and I jumped to play our parts, Horns running off to activate the ritual sigils as Big-Pipe began his final act
> Myself? Well. I had the misfortune of facing it down directly.
> Her laugh was like someone ripping into my eardrums with razor wire, threw myself through one of the Dancers as it hit me
> Felt like I would fall apart as it mocked, chided as I grappled, asked what I could possibly do to it?
> Began pulling me apart slowly as I locked onto it, fusing my feet into the ground

> Well. I didn't say then. But for all of you reading? All I had to do was hold her in place.

> Horns managed to activate the Gauntlet Sigils without issue, pulled the entirety of Lagimodière-Gaboury Park 'Out' of the physical world
> It was a short ritual, we didn't need long, just enough time to catch the Urge Wyrm in a state of 'Maybe'
> And Big-Pipe-Club, Elder of the Loupine Ukte of the Great Lakes tore out his own heart and hurled it into the air
> His soul rode out with it, taking the form of a man riding atop a terrible monstrous wolf-spider
> Damn near lost my remaining arm when Wyrmspawn realized what was about to happen, started lashing out in every direction
> The first of the Dancers died that night by the hand of their mistress, a strike aimed at me cut him into three
> Desperation din't save the Caliph of Torment, Big-Pipe-Club's soul rent the Urge into shreds and cut it from the thing wearing her
> Killed her. 'Beheaded' the Abomination behind.

> We only caught a few moments of consequence, but the reality beyond reality bent and shined like the sun had risen, and a typhoon had struck
> Didn't stay to witness, the Sigil Ritual ended, and we dropped off Lagimodière-Gaboury Park right onto Assinaboine Park
> Right where the rest of our people and the Wentiko reinforcements were waiting
> And other things

> I'll add this; as about the same time this happened things shifted with Pontius
> When his 'Aspect of the Dark Mother' was annihilated, he flinched, and fell to his knees
> And without missing a beat, the Horseman stood and began to beat the ever loving shit out of the former would-be Regent
> Despite the absolute tanking he'd received prior, his crumbling armour was just another bludgeon for him
> Horseman ripped off what was left of his helmet and knocked out most of Pontius' teeth
> Seemed though that Pontius had enough of the Wyrm in him to call up a departure through the Gauntlet, one moment he was there, then he was gone
> Just as Strathcona arrived to wipe out the stunned lieutenants
> Mother fucker.
>>

>>98294537

> Now, as for what I saw personally?
> The moment our 'ritual of transport' ended and most of us dropped a dozen feat to the ground, the battle went to absolute shit
> Fresh Wentiko in frightful war-faces and the very woods themselves turned against the Sabbat
> The remaining Dancers were completely overwhelmed, the one who Fear had smacked up earlier got tackled and dragged off into the brush, pretty sure it was killed outright, but I can't confirm. The last one?
> Well, Victoria finally revealed herself, pressed that stupid Punt gun right to the back of the torso
> One shot and the only thing left above the waist is a fine mist
> Sorry Vic, I absolutely missed what you said after
> Suffice to say the Turquoise Legion and the Foederati are annihilated

> There was a price to that though
> Coming to the Assinaboine, our Stalker who'd been creeping on us so long had us. Had me, rather.
> Pontius arrived looking even more gnawed on than usual, perhaps seeking his dogs and the source of his power, or his ritual hadn't been so deliberate
> We didn't even get to jump him, for the Stalker finally decided to make themselves know then
> I got about a second of a look at some roots before I got was pulled underground. Deeper and deeper. Dropped into the sewers.
> So was Pontius.
> He took one look at me and fled like a beaten dog.

> Stalker druid freak is down here with us too.
>>
>>98294554

> Now. As soon as I'm finished with the write up and this dumb baggie I'm sipping on, I'm going to go and see how this hunt ends
> I imagine the only reason I've been left is that the Stalker knows I'll play their game
> This will be set to auto-post
> Wifi is shit down here
> But before I go off I should tell you how we did all that

> You see we cheated.
> Everyone remember Sorcerer “betraying” us? Well. He didn't. Only William, Big-Pipe and I knew the plan.
> Using a bit of delusion and forced forgetting Sorcerer was able to play the part of a Judas very well, one of Pontius' biggest weaknesses was his belief everyone has a price, and all we had to do was make Sorcerer play the part of back-stabbing Tremere well enough to buy it
> Only tonight when he remembered who he actually was was there any suspicion within the Sabbat camp
> Not that it saved Pontius' pet Mage, he got sucked dry by Sorcerer before he could even scream
> Sorcerer proceeded to beat the pair of Vampires Pontius had placed on observation and communication to death, and fled
> Not before sending the fake message to the Dancers, of course
> Apparently our little Double-Agent reconnected with the others, and William is informing people of the plot so no one throttles him

Now, I think I've delayed the hunt as long as I'm willing to. We've got three Gangs down here in some abandoned tunnels looking to tear into one another. Probably shouldn't keep them waiting any longer.

Really hope Stathcona's pet BDSM Biker wasn't full of it the other night and he actually sits down for talks if I

Nah.

If my Sire hasn't confirmed Pontius is dead, and my Sire can still move, then The Horseman is still after him. If you can just dig a tunnel.or something to him, you'll have one more...ally? Look, The Horseman doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And heabsolutely will not stop... ever, until his target is dead! But he's not without reason. Make it clear you're out to kill Pontius and The Horseman WILL work with you.

ERRAND 'KNIGHT'

WHILE YOU WERE PLAYING AROUND WITH THAT BLOOD DOLL WHO THINKS SHE'S YOUR GIRLFRIEND, SPIDER LILY INVADED OUR MANSION AND NOW WANTS ZORYANA AND LINHUA TO FIGHT TO FINAL DEATH

WHERE IN THE FUCK ARE YOU

COME BACK HOME ALREADY YOU COMPLETE FUCKING DISGRACE

AND YOU DARE CALL YOURSELF A KNIGHT
>>
>>98295977
Dear Jack,
I am simply obeying my Princess and Regnant's orders, as I was told under the strikes of her whip not to die for Zoryana, but to survive for her.

I was also given this definition: "Home is where we don't have to run anymore." A mansion with Spider Lily - or Lady Asano as she prefers to be called - inside hardly fits such definition of home.

I am in fact going home. I'm going forward, not back, to my true origins - the Banu Haqim.

August 16th, 1956, Shiloh.

Faithfully yours and forever grateful for everything all of you've done,
The fledgling formerly known as Errand Knight

The West Coast is going fucking apeshit. There are morons from down south running up here "avenge their turquoise brothers and take the New Tenochtitlan" which I assume is Winnipeg and to the North they're fleeing from PNC because suddenly they're being expected to fight someone that isn't each other. Oakland's goddamned circus and I haven't heard from the young licks we pit in charge of Daly for hours. Somebody fucking stake me, leave me with a good view of the sunrise over San Bruno.

You passed the test.

If there ever was a one on one fight where both contestants deserved a win, it was this one.

With Zoryana's name etymologically rooted in the word for star, and Lianhua's name meaning lotus flower, your new self will become the 'star lotus' of the Asano bloodline, your new name shall be Asano Seiren (浅野星蓮).

I took the liberty of giving you a suitable new look. I'm certain it will be to your liking, even considering Zoryana's dislike for the art of Vicissitude.

Surely you remember the stories about the Cathayans, they have two souls in one body. I once said: "If the Kindred of the East do not exist, we should invent them", and you are my greatest achievement towards such a goal, the culmination of decades of labour, my pride and joy.

I regret to inform you, my beloved younger sister Seiren, that it appears said monsters do exist. I have come to know that one Sirio Ascari, also known on this FORVM as Boy Toy, simply refuses to stay dead. I made him a wraith, I incarnated him into a new body, but there is one part of the cycle of his soul, or souls, I did not yet take care of - and that is killing him with my own two hands.

For this reason I am sending you to Venice, in the care of my Sire, to begin your Necromantic studies. I will not be able to honour my promise of tutoring you personally as I must handle this urgent matter in person. Besides the evident scientific relevance of such a discovery, I can confidently say that, this time, it's personal.

You inspired me so much, I am pondering whether I should host a single elimination martial arts tournament for undead fought all over Asia. My arch-enemy would jump at the chance to prove himself in such contest, just as you or my dearest husband, Baron Tecuani of Kelowna.

When this message reaches you, you should be in Italy. Until the night we're together again, may the darkness protect you.

Your elder sister,

POST SCRIPTVM

I have my head mostly reattached now. Fuck my neck hurts. Kyle Strathcona gave me a sideways glance while I was sculpting my trapezius back together and if my bowels still functioned I would have shit myself in fear. I hope you can survive and make a deal with him, because I sure as fuck am not.

I know those sewers, though. I helped install a lot of them when I was a mortal. You would be in the LDS (land drainage system) if you can stand up, as the waste-water sewers are like 12" in diameter. The LDS outfalls to the rivers, that might be where Pontiac will try to flee. If I can find a manhole I'll try to help you out, but I'm not much use as low on vitae as I am. I still have two shots left and maybe I can pin Pontaic Firebird's leg or something. Maybe I'll wait near the closest outfall and ambush him if you can flush him out, I'll send in what crickets I have left to back you up. Fodder basically, I used all their shots up already. They can still bite though.

When you stop your little angry-typing break, take two steps to the left, then keep moving forward. That pile of cardboard you'd walk onto otherwise got one of those old, vaguely-leaf-resembling landmines under it. The mine's old and shitty, the sound of it blowing up would probably fuck you up more than the actual blast, given the cramped space. Also you'd scream a lot.
You don't want to scream a lot down here.
Also, don't be scared if you bump into something cold and somewhat pipe-like, if you move back. That's a surprise tool that'll help you out when you most need it, wizardhat.

You can hand 'THE MALKAVIAN' over to William, by the way, he's got free enough hands and is way too chipper about us 'besting daemons'.

A broken watermain would be pretty tame for the Collateral Damage he's willing and able to cause. I heard a story from one of his Packs first missions that ended with him standing on the back of an out of control Vozhd and laying into it while dodging angry pseudopods so it was hitting itself. I mean, it took the whole pack to bring the damn thing down but still...good thing that Hamlett was already empty.

What could be a suitable nickname for my roomie? I know! Rumi! Rumi wanted to take a selfie with me now that we're in Mestre. This literal doe-eyed sweet summer Great-great-grandchilde! I wonder what will big sis will do to my roomie, and her Sire, once she finds out Rumi dyed her hair blonde, like a yankee~
I think I need a new username for myself, too.

I feel heavy today. My vitae isn't racing, it creeps, languidly, through my veins and everywhere I turn faces and voices of those long dead and dust haunt me. Not literally mind you. At least, most of the time.

Back in 2020, as I was beginning to settle in Florida, the Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum held an exhibit for the 75th anniversary of the battle of Okinawa. I went to check it out. I ran into a Marine more lost than an Lt. on his first landnav course.

The shade was distraught, disoriented, and seemingly oblivious to having lost his right arm around his elbow. Shouting orders to men that weren't there, still fighting a war long ended. I'm no necromancer. And I don't make it a habit of concerning myself with every human soul that lingers on because of me. But I just could not leave a Brother like that.

I don't know why I saw him so clearly, when staff and guests only heard faint echos or felt sudden chills, nor am I certain which artifact it was that drew him so far from his place of death, or his home. What I do know is, when he saw me in my 1812 uniform.the next night(after I dropped obfuscate once the museum had closed.) and I yelled out with my best Sargent bellow, it snapped him to reality. To where and, most importantly, when he was. I told him my story(Necessary, as I was sporting a uniform over a hundred years old by his reckoning) and I listened to his, which I will not share as he told me things in confidence. The most important thing is that for the true patriot, the true hero, duty does not Always end even in death.

And so I informed him, with all the ceremony I could muster, that the war was over, and he stood relived.

The memory of the salute he snapped is one of the things that still anchors me to my humanity.
>>
Everything about me is a biiiiiiig huge experiment.
I'm still discovering how this body works, and mind too, the first thing I learned is that I apparently have access to the memories of both the voices in my head! I wonder if I have their abilities~
Lianhua met big sis' Sire before, so I knew what to expect, but this didn't make Rumi's face any less funny when they met. He just walked to her, hugged her neck and sniffed the top of her head like an US President would.
I got squeezed too but he was waaay more delicate, he stroked my hair from the nape downwards instead of trying to inhale them. I think I remind him too closely of his Childe.
I don't blame him, we're the most adorable, huggable apprentices in the known world, and we're one biiiiiiig Family, too!
Stay classy, Uncle Marco~

Report back from the underground. Stops being a standard sewer section deep enough in. Roots shoved pipes around.

So, the bad news is this.
> No finding of H0T, Pontius, or the Beast. What I found of the Roman Larper... Disconcerting.
> Much signs of struggle like that of the Wöf. Claws through stone. Found Pontius' dismembered arm.
> These tunnels are disconcerting, far too much growth.

That would explain why I can't control them with my mind anymore. I'll have to collect them all before they escape and wander around stoned in public breaching the Masq. There should be four of them left.
>If the "rootways" are not related to Druid, not a bad space for warrens?
Thankfully they seem to branch off from the LDS, and they're mostly below Assiniboine Park, so it could take years before city crews find them and seal them up. If ever.

Dear sweet God in Heaven, why, oh WHY did the Camarilla see fit to forbid dueling amongst the kindred!?

Do you all remember how our third mystery Nosferatu showed up out of nowhere claiming to have helped build the Undercity and seeking status and accolades? How suddenly several of the Clan "remembered" him? I had initially assumed simple bribery, or promises of riches to come.

That the Tremere had worked some blood sorcery and Dominate to deceive several Nosferatu and create a schism with their very own willing puppet...

Now the Nosferatu know. I know. The Tremere (who are rebuilding their Clan and territory with a few new Ancilla and an Elder sent from other Domains) know we know. And both clans are making preparations for outright war! NOW of ALL TIMES, when the wolves of the Sabbat are scratching at the gates across the continent!

Well. It looks like I've some work to do. Some unruly children are in desperate need of a good switching.

vestiges of conflicts, both before and after the embrace, are much more common on this side of the sea.

granted, i have usually dealt with the more physical vestiges. occasionally we get a straggler who thinks we still fight the ashira and the banu haqim as we did in prior centuries and refuses to believe any word of peace or armistice. though, i've dealt with a few echoes before. i think they reveal themselves to shared kinds.

one sticks with me though. a boy, who must have been no older than twelve attempting to make it to missolonghi, ankles swollen. still attempting to deliver a message someone must have taken from his body. morea had seen great victories against the turk.

took a whole week to walk him 'home.' the moment he crossed the threshold, he faded, in a burst of light.

fear of direct consequence and monomacy makes many wise elders insist on very stupid things.
>>
>>98306822
>Dear sweet God in Heaven, why, oh WHY did the Camarilla see fit to forbid dueling amongst the kindred!?
They were probably tired of hearing something like: "No, your Highness! It was obviously self-defense! The Elder frenzied over a single coin and I had no choice but to put him down! Since I am a very loyal and law-abiding Cainite, may I humbly request you sign this paper saying I am the legitimate heir to all his property?"
It's not that strange: you're among Cammies so you need the formal authorization of the Prince for everything from dueling a Kindred to wiping your ass anyway, but it also means if you curry enough favor the Prince will overlook an "honor killing" or two.
Older Princes may even allow a trial or appeal by combat from time to time.
>>
And it just keeps getting worse.

It reminds of that time I was sent to the Sail Locker for some spare lines, as we had just weathered a storm and the some of the rigging was getting fouled, whereupon I discover some lubber didn't coil the lines properly and the storage was a complete rats nest!

Before I became Prince the Nosferatu had the lions share of influence with JSO, and this was the where this little feud started. The Tremere didn't just rewrite the memories of several Nosferatu, they were using their blood sorcery to meddle with every attempt by the Nosferatu to utilize the modern technology of the mortal authorities. Including slowing down attempts to make uncomfortable evidence vanish! I didn't even know Blood Magic could do that.

Apparently they were under the impression that as long as the Nosferatu looked incompetent the Tremere would be asked to step in and pick up their slack.
>>
Being an East Asian and also a woman in Venice at night is not easy, too many people, local or not, feel authorized to reach for your belongings, even an elderly lady you wouldn't suspect came far too close to Rumi's handbag for my liking.
Mind control is still working, as seen by that one old hag's sudden desire to cool her body in the nearest canal. We can scratch that one off the to do list.

Hmmm... I dug up a memory about some thaumaturges specializing in technology, Lianhua was with big sis and they left Tokyo when the Tremere wiped out the Tzimisce some 30 years ago.
>as long as the Nosferatu looked incompetent the Tremere would be asked to step in and pick up their slack.

I know that Your Highness has thus far decided to respect the decrees and edicts of the old Prince (including territory and de facto membership in the Camarilla for the Assamite and Lasombra antitribu and respecting the Giovanni claim to JaxPort), but as Star Lotus says >>98307357, you ARE the Prince. You have a vast amount of discretion in how you govern the city: if you want ritualized dueling, you need only decree it to be so.

Also consider that the Brujah and Assamite Primogen are the only remaining members of the original council. Most of the "old guard" of powerful and influential Kindred met Final Death between the chaos of last year and more recent events. There are few Kindred remaining who could really muster up any sort of political capitol to oppose a Princely Decree.

Monomacy in this case wouldn't end well. Neither the Tremere or Nossies like to settle matters out in the open. If Leatherneck authorized or even ordered a duel, both sides would do their level best to put on the brakes, set the date for the bout as far into the future as possible and spend the entire time between the challenge and the duel doing what they can to sabotage each other's champion, up to and including assassinating them, at which point they show up to "Win by Default"
Used to happen a lot in the Bay Area, until the Bishops of Oakland and Colma allowed the hosting Priest or Ductus the right to fill in for absent belligerants. Nothing like watching some smug Lick realize he just maneuvered himself into facing one of the Fingers.
>>
>>98307432
>>98308210
Ooh! I was interested in this conversation because my current existence is owed to a duel. Now I get what the problem is!

Imagine Big sis Spider Lily, who received her Embrace near the end of the golden age of the samurai, reading our messages. She'd experience cultural shock.

I picture her responses would be like:
>Neither the Tremere or Nossies like to settle matters out in the open.
"Have the duel take place behind closed doors!" Two Cainites enter, one leaves."
>both sides would do their level best to put on the brakes, set the date for the bout as far into the future as possible
"Nonsense! You, and no other, decide the date, time, place and all the other terms! Summon the combatants and be an impartial referee! If you and your rule are so weak you cannot even enforce a writ of summons, find someone who will, have him host the duel, then abdicate in his favour!"
>and spend the entire time between the challenge and the duel doing what they can to sabotage each other's champion, up to and including assassinating them, at which point they show up to "Win by Default"
"Blasphemy! I volunteer to give a slow and painful Final Death to all who interfere with the duel and their accomplices, then let me send their souls to the Rossellini! Shame! Shame and dishonour upon the lineages of the guilty!"

Big sis just isn't used to the struggles New World Princes face with herding cats in their domains, the ever-present risk of entire city blocks switching sides to the Anarchs (or worse) overnight, and the lack of powerful Elders acting as a safety net for threatened Princes and Kindred in vulnerable domains.

As her ghoul who spent many more years in the USA, Lianhua helped big sis navigate this instability worthy of African kine governments.

Can you imagine the consequences in America if the whole Brujah clan pulls the plug and goes Anarch like the Gangrel did? Hysterical!

I annihilated Rumi in Patty Cake, Celerity is confirmed, but today's biggest discoveries was that I don't have the Giovanni's curse and that the voices in my head still experience pleasure when I feed. Let me explain myself *worse*, it's like having two (more?) Beasts inside, but they're... intelligent?
Basically we're living the boarding school life but for Necromancy, and we even have free food here in Venice, this boy from the herd sat besides me and I instantly became his favorite vampire. I even went for the subclavian... no pain, only pleasure? I held him down for Rumi, Potence confirmed, though not surprising as Zoryana knew some Potence too. Rumi likes it when boys moan.
She said I should tell Marco about my lack of a Painful Kiss, so I rushed to my teacher's room, jumped on his lap, held his hand and nibbled on his index finger. I told him with my best puppy eyes: "I'm not sure what I am anymore..."
We snuggled tight and he told me in my ear: "I'll tell you what you are: you are family." Then the shade of his mother showed up and petted my head with her frigid, translucent hand.
"You can be a mortal, ghoul, Kindred, spirito, anything you want, but family is forever. If people don't treat you like they should, they will have to answer to us.", he said. I was overjoyed, I hardly felt the pain from the man's lips on my forehead!

Unfortunate. I can remember several instances where the price of victory seemed too high once it was finally calculated, and it never gets easier. You have my condolences.

This news does little to improve my ill mood.

I have been attempting to lead some "back door" talks to bring reconciliation between the Nosferatu and Tremere, but both sides seem Hell Bent on stalling and whining about every perceived slight no matter how small. I have tried reason, thteats, even pretending to throw a temper tantrum. I genuinely don't know if I was seen through or they are simply too stupid to realize the dangers of frustrating a Gangrel Prince to near frenzy.

So it has come to this after all. I am in the process of drafting a code duello. I cannot simply copy the mortal one, though. Vampires always complicate matters, even when not scheeming to do so. (Which, one may safely assume, they are.)

If they push back on even THAT, then I shall simply take Rumples suggestion. Ironic that this entire time I have been trying to convince myself a Prince MUST NOT show favoritism to any one Clan, and keeping the Tremere around would be beneficial should the Giovani in Jax Port start getting upitty. But I am not having this shit.

but ah, perhaps i should be more helpful than offering bitter truths. you said she is changed, yes? that is curious. tales of gangrel off-shoots are often sullied by rumors and outright slander. i have heard of tales of a line of priests and shaman, but, they were little more than myths. but in light of these events? you would do well to begin research into them. especially to discern weaknesses.

one of which is of concern to miss macbrennan. that being certain northerners were unable to consume vitae from animals. if this is true she will be forced to adopt human vitae entirely.

Kyle Strathcona was not as scary the third time around. But maybe my courage was tempered by crawling around in the LDS and the "rootways" for two nights looking for signs of H0T, not knowing if the druid thing was going to pop out of the walls and eat me. That and getting nearly decapitated by an evil werewolf.

I might move into the city now that we own it. Tired of driving three hours to do anything. Have to defuse the bombs in my house and clear out all of my weird Tzimisce stuff so I can sell it. Maybe get some human ghouls and blood dolls finally, since there will be people around in abundance. Anyone want to buy a two bedroom in Neepawa? Asking $250,000.

I'm praying H0T's mental condition is temporary, the physical I can remediate if she wishes. But she's in feral Wolverine mode like when he got his adamantium ripped out by Magneto. Maybe the root in her eye will bloom into a flower if she stops ripping it out, that would be pretty.

So I might be drunk but I think I'm on to something, I think the scientific root of "blood potence" is methyl-mercury, which bio-accumulates in predators such as ourselves, which is why feeding on herbivorous animals is less nourishing to us than feeding on humans. Humans that eat a lot of fish (the Japanese) should therefore be more nourishing than humans that don't eat a lot of fish (the poors). I have no way of quantifying or testing this theory however, but I think the "fishMalks" are on to something. Mercury was used in Nazi UFOs and time-travel machines, so maybe there's a connection between their mercury-agitation distorting space-time and bio-available methyl-mercury also allowing us to bend the laws of physics. I know what we have is a magical curse laid on us by God, but there's a science behind everything. This could also be why most predators are venerated by human cultures over prey animals, they have more methyl-mercury in them and are therefore "more magical" like eagles, wolves and bears.
Just the drunken ramblings of a Tzimisce nerd. Pay me no mind unless you want to.

A victory is a victory. While it is bittersweet to a degree, to deny yourself the triumph is to devalue its cost. Dwelling on the worst instead of relishing the best will do you or yours no good, wise Mèo-Mèo.
As for brave H0T and her condition, I will briefly focus on practical ways to try and aid her. The Anchorites are probably a good lead, but not amazingly so. Working with their Sire gave me little contacts with more floral Kindred; he did try to locate experts in the field, though he died before finding any sages of note. Broadly speaking, me and Victoria met some strange types over the years, but only fleetingly, and usualy didn't keep in touch. Finally, there's that pine grove I mentioned a while ago.

So, far as what we two can offer:
>Heading back to the Anchorites personally, since evidently whatever communication issues they got going on refuse to let up, but they do still have a treasure trove of information
>Or, alternatively, marching north to the Kin-pine grove, to see if the thing there might assist us when confronted with, possibly, something similar to itself

Both, one after another, could be a good pick too, but with the wood in brave H0T's eye, I worry we may be on a timer here.

>I AM GETTING DRUNK ON VITAE-RUM.
Rightfully so! Great showing all around from you, by the way. I tried to not overcompliment you in the field, lest that gets to your head, but, for somebody who quite peacefully messed around with giant crickets recreationally beforehand, you proved a Dragon indeed once push came to shove.
>Anyone want to buy a two bedroom in Neepawa? Asking $250,000.

Okay. Here is what I've worked out so far.

Aside from all the usual stuff you would expect from a code on dueling to resolve issues...
The Duelists may have any number of Seconds they wish. (More eyes makes it harder to cheat)

Interfering with the duelists before the duel is strictly prohibited and will be punished at the Princes pleasure.

Should a Duelist fail to appear at the appointed time, one of their Seconds MUST step in for them. (This was added to remind the seconds their first duty is to talk thr duelists down, more likely if their asses are exposed, even a little)

Should ALL seconds refuse, their lives shall be immediately forfeit, and the judgement default to the opposing duelist. Further punishments may be levied at the Princes pleasure. (No room for cowards. The line about interfering means no dominating the seconds out of it.)

No active discipline use in the duel unless agreed to beforehand, on a discipline by discipline basis. (I would have banned all disciplines, but some things just cannot be "turned off")

The Prince retains the right to veto any disciplines at their pleasure. (I don't care if you want to duel with Koldunic Sorcery, I'm not letting you two set the building on fire!)
Either duelist MAY name a champion to fight on their behalf.(some people just can't fight.)

Said champion MUST agree of their own free will, absent any undue coercion. (Bribe the Brujah? Fine. Dominate the Brujah, or threaten their mortal family? No.)

The Prince may name a champion at their pleasure (just in case some friendless neonate is getting bullied)

Lastly, as vampires are quite hardy... Once the handkerchief drops the duel does not end until one of the combatants meets final death. (I am not letting the kindred of my domain waste my rime with jumped up, preening slap fights. If you're coming to me to sanction a duel, you had damn well better be serious about it.)

Any glaring holes I may have missed?

>>98317006
I consulted the voices and we reached a consensus, here are some initial suggestions:
>The Duelists may have any number of Seconds they wish. (More eyes makes it harder to cheat)
Are you sure you want every single other clanmate of a duelist to invade the arena? Wouldn't a large amount of Brujah do more than add eyes?
>Interfering with the duelists before the duel is strictly prohibited and will be punished at the Princes pleasure.
*before AND DURING the duel!!!!!
>Should a Duelist fail to appear at the appointed time, one of their Seconds MUST step in for them.
The Seconds should be willing too, otherwise you create a legal loophole for an unwilling champion: appoint an unwilling Second, then don't show up at the place and time for the duel, instant unwilling Champion!
>The Prince retains the right to veto any disciplines at their pleasure.
Any and all undeclared disciplines by a duelist are forbidden by default.
>Once the handkerchief drops the duel does not end until one of the combatants meets final death.
Any interference with the movement of the handkerchief, and any intentional flight from the designated combat zone by a duelist once it falls, will be punished by Final Death.
>Any glaring holes I may have missed?
As this anonymous poster stated, what to do about Diablerie: >>98317068
Plus what to do with what a fallen duelist owned!
Choose:
>Any property or asset not mentioned or distributable by the Will of a fallen duelist will be inherited by their appointed Seconds, and if no Seconds were appointed by their Champion, and if no Champion was appointed either, by the Prince.
or
>Any property or asset not mentioned or distributable by the Will of a fallen duelist will be inherited by the victor.
or
>Any property or asset not mentioned or distributable by the Will of fallen duelist will be inherited by the Prince.
If you plan on discouraging duels, having Kindred think about what to write in their Will before the fight could help you.

I feel I need to add my input here because I did look over the Ductus. Before I sloshed out. Anyways.

It isn't just the eye. Her """"arm"""" tried the same regrowth trick and she kept gnawing it off judging from the damage. The eye is just the more disconcerting because she KEEPS PUTTING HER FINGER IN THE HOLE. Eagh! Fucking- Like a child chewing their god damn nails! It seems like an unconscious response. While there is wood elsewhere it isn't spreading like a corruptive element.

Making it act like artificial 'scar' tissue. Also, while my familiar is a MORE USELESS DRUNK THAN I they were at least helpful in identifying the type of wood. European Holly. Just- Significantly faster growing, harder, and boasting disconcerting feelings that makes my bones twist under my skin.

If there is a timer it comes not from this. At least- IF SHE COULD STOP GNAWING HERSELF LIKE A NAUGHTY CHIHUAHUA RECENTLY NEUTERED

Personally I'd much rather go somewhere with sane kindred and the Loupines will be subject to the friendship agreements.

But I digress.

>European Holly. Just- Significantly faster growing, harder, and boasting disconcerting feelings that makes my bones twist under my skin.
Certainly explains why she doesn't like it. Holly's an invasive and insidious weed. One that likes to fill in the spaces where stumps and fallen trees. The implications are bad.

>The Seconds should be willing too, otherwise you create a legal loophole for an unwilling champion: appoint an unwilling Second, then don't show up at the place and time for the duel, instant unwilling Champion!
Don't overthink things. The point of a Second is to deescalate so a duel doesn't need to be fought in the first place, negotiate the parameters of the duel on behalf of the duelists, and ensure the sanctity of the duel. Only a fool would appoint an unwilling party to negotiate a duel to the Final Death on their behalf.

>Interfering with the duelists before the duel is strictly prohibited and will be punished at the Princes pleasure.
>*before AND DURING the duel!!!!!
Enforcing the rules of the duel is the responsibility of the Second. Interference during the duel is punished by the Seconds. Traditionally by shooting the cheater.

I'll admit I got the idea from a video game about vampire-adjacent characters seeking infusions of blood from aquatic old gods and a heavy emphasis on quicksilver being a catalyst of said eldritch vitae. Beating said game is actually what got my sire to embrace me. I swear it was made by ancient vampires to elucidate esoteric secrets to other vampires, but I have zero proof. It is also the reason I tried to drink milk one time. "seek paleblood lest the hunt consume you"

I don't think it's Mercury. But it could be that something in Vitae accumulates in us as we take it in, even as we [burn] it off, powering Disciplines. Ah. I have it. A duelist who is championed
Shall share the fate of their champion. Should also serve to keep politicians from having a champion on retainer while making sure their own backside is forever safe and secure as well.

>Are you sure you want every single other clanmate of a duelist to invade the arena? Wouldn't a large amount of Brujah do more than add eyes?

This does make me concerned about inviting a potential army into a secluded place.

Very well. Rule of three. Duelists may have up to two seconds.

As fir what shall be done with any personal posessions not declared in tge loosers will...it's obvious it shall become property of the Prince. If they forgot to include the article in question in their will, it must not have been that important to them.

>>98317068

>>98317659
I am not starting some fighting club, I am drafting a code duello for the kindred in my domain. As such, participants would need to recognize my authority over them. Or whichever Prince follows after me, should they choose to retain said code.

Oh my sheriff is quite strong. He is rather fond of coming out of Obfuscate swinging a 10 llb sledge at tge back of miscreants heads. So far, this has worked out in his favor more often that not.

And I am not particularly averse to rolling up my sleeves and getting my hands bloody myself. I do still have my Nathan Star cutlass, though these nights I fight with a D'Capitane model from Zombie Arms. They are quite durable. I fear my vampiric strength would shatter my old blade.
>>
>>98320040
Sounds all-around decent, then! Bit on the expensive side, but I suppose every single piece of property is nowadays, and I am mentally stuck in a century where you could buy a house with a thousand dollars. You'd figure all this traveling would help to stay somewhat up-to-date, but it at best somewhat delayed being baffled at six-figure numbers being attached to a plain two-bedroom.

I'll get in touch with some of my associates, they should reach out to you about arranging the purchase in maybe a week or two. Please don't make any sort of wink-wink-nudge-nudge kind of gestures at the Kine buyers, by the way. You don't strike me as the sort, just, I'd really rather they don't start getting suspicious about good fortunes and enjoy them for what they are.

>>98319997
Finding the thing should not be an issue! Or, well, probably shouldn't be. While I'd imagine an unliving grove could in fact move if it wanted to, what with being an unliving grove, the site we found it in did seem to be of some sort of signifiance, so maybe it'll still be where it is. More of an issue would be whether we want to risk interacting with the thing at all. It was benevolent enough, but, you really can't say it was entirely benevolent when it made that group of hunters seemingly die of lethargy and malaise. I suppose bringing lupines along will serve as a decent enough way to identify what it is; if they freak out and decide to leave, that'd be a warning enough.

>>98317798
>IF SHE COULD STOP GNAWING HERSELF LIKE A NAUGHTY CHIHUAHUA RECENTLY NEUTERED

It's... complicated. A tentative explanation is that this body was made to contain the soul of an Old Clan Tzimisce lady from Ukraine who came to the US called Zoryana
>GOOD EVENING
and a long lived ghoul whom the Giovanni had recently given the embrace from China, who also came to the US, called Lianhua
>晚上好
Lianhua was also taught Japanese because her Sire, who is the same Kindred who also created this arrangement, is Japanese: she goes by the nickname Spider Lily and decreed I ought to be her younger sister in her bloodline and noble family.
Now, "this body", "made", "contain", "soul", "created" and "arrangement" are all provisional terms, and the greatest mystery of them all is... who or what is the person typing these messages and her relationship with Zoryana and Lianhua. Is it a third person? A partial or complete fusion of the two? Is there only one Star Lotus and the other two are mere voices in her head? Or one or two wraiths with her body as a fetter?
Like I said, it's complicated, because I'm not just *in* uncharted territory, I *AM* the uncharted territory.

So after investigating further into mexico then I planned, sleeping rough, driving all night for several nights, and several villages I found what the Don described. It's in Coahuilla hell I'm like halfway to Mexico City not that I want to get closer. Things have died down after that last stunt and getting out of Juarez.

And I found it, wild. Fucking Pyramid hidden in this shit. Most of this land is flat, whatever forests were here were cut down a long time ago. Like the houses not much grows tall here, no point.

But the valley was damn near hidden. If someone hadn't picked my ear I never even would have found the switchback to the gormless village and then this valley. Barely big enough for the pyramid but here it is. It's something, They did something bad here.
>>
>>98325075
>They did something bad here.
Real bad. This pyramid got to be about 4 stories tall but the valley is so hidden , I doubt the top of the pyramid even peaks above the bluffs on the side. It's covered in deep channels. Maybe its dust and water makign the dark gunk that lines the very bottom of them, spread in spirals and lines all over this damn thing.

>But I can taste the blood in the air
Hell when I take my Kabar, and drag it along a channel it sparks like its hitting flint, the gunk stays in place.

And at the top of it there's a table? Slab? It sort of looks like a Slab to me. There's more gunk here, Whatever Jalan was hunting it was rumored to be a god, and I don't doubt that my presence is known here. I've waited two nights and a day here , expecting someone to bust in , bust up. But no. Whatever Jalan was searching for is gone or dead. Jalan, if I may borrow the local tongue, look like a Gringo. he got his Levi jeans, a shirt torn to tatters that I don't doubt cost more then some of the villeagers make in year. He's been beat up, no duobt. But he ain't dead.

He damn well crawled his ass up on that Slab and is having a good sleep. I have no idea why the sun hasn't dusted him. But it hasn't. Like I said, Spooky. Mexcian Shit.

That said, he's Torpid. He might get up on his own in a few years or a century. I never really asked the Don how old this Honcho was supposed to be, seemed rude at the time.

If I revive Jalan, maybe he be happy maybe not so much. I don't think Winners get on the Slab. Might just be me thinking that . Jalan could bring the Sabbat Gangrel to heel. Maybe let our clan be the free spirits they were meant to be.
>Then again he is a sabbat cocksucker
Decissions, Decissions. I'm kind of glad Stripper didn't come now.

Once I would have said I was having a cold fit. That in my martial ardor I had spent my body's nervous fluid. Now, you would call it an adrenaline crash.

Either way it's a lie. A damnable lie. My body is dead. My blood is cold. No chemicals burn in my system. And yet...I feel light. Floaty. The Beast is howling. Louder and more close than at any point before.

If I move, I fear I will do so with every ounce of my vampiric strength. I would tear this building to it's foundations. I dare not even type. I am dictating to Mina.

They attacked my halfway house. A Sanctuary. The Sabbat attacked the only men in this Godforsaken swamp who know what Honor is. What it means to have a code.

MY. MEN.

In a moment I will master my rage. I will force the Beast back into it's cell. Mina will then tell me the names of the traitors who let the Sabbat in. She does not have to, I already know. Only one Clan could be so paranoid, so convinced they labor under unearned enmity that they would bite at the only hand even trying to help them. It's not any one thing. They betrayed the sect to the Sabbat. They caused an attack on (one) of my (more public) havens. They attacked my herd. They attacked my brothers. They attacked my city. They attacked what was mine. And they planned it all while I was agonizing over the necessity of a Prince not playing favorites. Trying to keep a war from breaking out between the citiy' s kindred without exiling an entire clan.

I do not even dislike the Tremere in and of themselves. It's the various forms of Blood Sorcery I have issue with. I suppose It's time I elaborate.

>>98325114
I have mentioned I took personal part in the Mexican-American War. Not as a mortal marine, but as a Vampire guerilla. I learned the hard way that was a bad idea. Many beings often have their own intrests and concerns regarding the outcome of the wars of the Kine. And setting foot on the battlefield draws their eyes to you.

The first was a Lasombra. He babbled at me for a bit in spanish, then robbed me of my senses with his Shadow Puppetry before striking at me with his rapier. Once I understood I could still feel, I seized his arm when he ran me through, causing his thrust to just miss my heart and, knowing where was because I was still holding him, I clawed him open from groin to neck. I won only because I surprised him with my durability, but I still have that fancy steel rapier in my trophy case.

The next to come for me was one of those Aztecs Blood Gods. Now, I am an Elder. Young for one of that tittle, yes, but still an Elder. Back then I was, at best, an experienced neonate. Had I never been embraced it was conceivable I could have still been alive at the time. I had no chance against such an ancient vampire. I survived for one reason. He WANTED me to go. To warn others to stay out of his territory.

I've hated blood magic ever since.

The Black Hand! The 'Hand of No Sun!' Wretched death seekers and devil worshippers who stole vitae from nobler clans! They refer to the Dark Father by the name Azazel-Caine, and seek to incite Gehenna to serve their own ends. Many do not believe they exist, others still murder those who dare name them as they simper over the purity of the Dark Father's sword. Bah!

Insufferable conspirators of their ilk sully the cause of the Sabbat endlessly. And they are enemies of almost all vampires for good reason!

Pussy. Sabbat will see you do that and come to the same conclusion I just did, too. They wanna play at being monsters, you show them you got bigger fangs and sharper claws, or you might as well not show at all.

>why tonight every Tremere in Jacksonville dies screaming.
Pussy with decent odds on getting all the blood boiled out of him because he decided to throw hands with the wizards, and announced as much on a public chatroom. So much for forcing the Beast back, eh?

>>98327655 Could always start with taking normal diseases and genetic oddities and making them weirder or more pronounced. Teratoma's a classic. Random teeth, hair, eyes that form in messy, disgusting chunks. Could have some end up peeking out if the guy gets injured enough to tear his skin, for extra horror he could even be unaware he's got teeth, eyes and hair hiding in his arm or something until he starts seeing out of it. Harlequin ichthyosis is fucking horrifying to look at, and very distinctive; to make it more horrifying you'd have to make your presumably adult nossie have the newborn version of it, but it's a curse, it can work weird. Epidermodysplasia verruciformis makes you look kind of like a tree, also very distinct and impossible to hide.

Correct.

Incorrect. I don't really give much of a shit about princes, at least about most of them on the East Coast. This one is just a bitch, running his mouth and obviously giving in to his Beast while also talking about not giving in to it. He'll commit suicide by Sabbat, wizard, or Sabbat wizard, given his attitude thus far.
So I poke him. He either ends up wiping them, which's a win given how they apparently act, or he dies mad, which is a win.

Win-win.

>Win-win.
You have very strange definitions of "winning" then. I do not, and would never ever, call a period of instability because the Prince of a city either died or vanished a "win." But I suppose Brujah aren't known for thinking about "what happens while we transition from one regime to a new one."

Whew, that was a fun filled evening. Starts out with everyone gathered for Elysium. Now, I know the Prince is gonna unveil his code duello so we can hash it with the Tremere without having to go to war, and am just noticing the distinct lack of pointy hats when the Prince strides in with a face like a thundercloud and a sword on his hip. He procedes to inform us all a Sabbat hit squad just targeted his Herd in Halfway House he funds. Worse than I was expecting. Just as that is sinking in in he drops the bombshell the fucking wizards are the ones who tipped the Sabbat off and smuggled them in! I shoot a look over to the Assimite Primogen (Should you visit our fair city, I strongly recommend staying the fuck out of Emerson.) And he is grinning ear to ear even before the words leave the Prince's mouth: Blood Hunt.

So with the Prince leading us we all head out to the new chantry, the one they've been rebuilding. Since it's brand new the wards are nothing special yet. Whike the Ghouls and Neonates are testing the defences, our Primogen lets the Prince know JSO thinks there's a gas leak and to keep people away, while the Prince himself is spreading out owls, bats, rats, stray cats and dogs in a surveillance grid. Explains the mountain.of fast food he had some of the kids gather. Bribes.

Once the doors are breached oir Clan gets to take point. With me obfuscated in the lead, even our Prim is with us, though he's playing ass end charlie. The first apprentices head just explodes under a sledge he never saw coming. There was only 5 of them, so the rest of the clan makes short work of them. But as we push deeper we see the Tremere Prim amd his 3 pet ancilla vanishing into a mirror.

I think it's gonna be a long night of hide and go seek, but the Prince walks slowly around the mirror, takes a few sniffs, and then says "with me."
>>
>>98335695
We get in this Hot Pink Cadillac El Dorado and off we go, He's tracking them somehow. A short ride later and we stop in front of a brownstone, his left hand turns into a freaky Gangrel claw and he draws his blade with the right. I follow his lead and Ob up. He just nods and says "when you see your chance, take it."

The actual fight was something to see, let me tell you. When the Prince burst in through wall, slicing up one of the Ancilla as he did, the other two tag teamed him, one grabbed him with Telekinesis, another threw a bonfire on him, and the Primogen looked like he was making sure the bonfire didn't get out of control. That bonfire spooked me pretty bad, damn near bolted, but I held it together.

The Prince though? Those flames just washed right over him. Didn't even look like he was burned at all. Without missing a beat, he holds out his left hand and this spike of bone shoots out on a jet of blood, kills the one holding him instantly. Somehow the Prince lands on his feet, and is in the flame throwers face instantly chopping away with his sword. I ser the prims hands start glowing but as I move up on him, he doesn't register me, So he doesn't have that much Auspex. He starts ranting about how the Prince set his Clan up, fed them to s mummy for his pet Nosferatu. I wish. Pretty sure we don't get along THAT well. But then I hit the Prim and that's that.

I get out my phone and spread the word the Blood Hunt is over. The Prince and I head back to the Elysium, the Prince sits his throne, and everyone looks at him expectantly. He starts to clean, oil and sharpen his sword, pauses, and makes this get on with it wrist twirling gesture, before turning back to his sword. So we all go back to our political games.

yes. because clan gangrel, with its inability to work together en-mass since the end of the middle ages en-mass is clearly capable of such a feat.

the one currently fractured between sabbat, camarilla, ashira, anarch, and the sort of monsters swollen with blood they could not be contained to political affiliation? who, as a clan have not even managed a functional moot in the balkans since the victorian era and actively sabotage one another to the point of near extinction? who despise social conventions and happily murder one another over vast tracks of empty forest?

that clan gangrel, against all odds has somehow masqueraded a whole imaginary race mentioned in the book of nod, for millennia, just to scare kindred out of their woods?

To fool all of vampirekind, one eould need agents in each sect. Plus, aren't the Sabbat Gangrel generally in the city and Camarilla ones out in the wilderness, meaning it'd be much harder for their "allies" to contact and contradict them?
And while there aren't any Gangs that I know lf in Osaka, the three who post here seem pretty savvy politically, though Ms. Garou would probably object.
