Reposting question from end of thread
>are there any little tricks to getting a drybrush on smaller, harder to reach areas? trying to hit parts of the terrain on my underworlds model's base but obviously the model is in the way of a lot of the nooks and crannies

also hell yeah collage-kun is back
>>
It was nice getting a couple of threads with pics like the old times instead of the slop collage while it lasted. Cheers.

I wouldn't paint any reflections that are not present or implied on the base. It would just look wrong. Only exception is mirror polish chrome, but even then doing more than a simple horizon is iffy.

I´m working on some forgeworld resin chaos dreadnoughts, what´s the best way to get them to come apart for stripping and rebasing? I tried putting them in the freezer to weaken the super glue but they didn't feel like they wanted to give and I'm cautious of damaging them. I haven't worked with resin much.

how is four angles of Johnny a better thread image than a recap of what anons are actually working on

A small filbert brush, its a flat brush with rounded corners. You can snip the corners from a spare flat brush to make one.
>>
>>98256011
At least try painting them before you start whining about how hard it is
Also clean that shit up before you prime it, it's covered in gunk and mold lines
>>
>>98256011
you will be amazed how intrigate stuff you will be able to paint with a brush that resembles more like a broom in no time when you get the hang of it

Built these chaos marauders a while ago but I got the modelling bug recently and decided to chop off hands and replace weapons. Bodies are from Lost Kingdom Miniatures and the weapons are from Asgard Rising and Artisan Guild.
>>
>>98256310
As a fellow print enthusiast, I'm looking with suspicion at those skinny weapon handles. I've had a few break on me at this point :(. Awesome models and bases, thoughever

And one pic from the back. I originally built all 30 with the same axe head and it looked pretty boring. Found four axe heads, a sword, and some spears to give the unit some variety.
>>98256331
Thanks, mate. I use Elegoo ABS resin. Thankfully no breaks so far.

Wanted to try out doing a really harsh bisected shadow, almost like you hit him with flash photography in a dark cave and while I don’t think it was all that successful and will probably still tinker around with it, was a pretty fun paint

Not a wip , but this reminded me of Blood Angel anon who posts here and in /grog/. It's an art screen-print my m8 made, apparently it's a misprint so I got it free :)
>>
>>98256408
I think the shadow should also be applied to the weapon and the base to sell the effect. Needs more contrast overall. Looking good though anon

Shrunk down, it would look pretty good on somebody's bosspole. To date, I have never used this one for anything, despite having drawn it nearly 25 years ago.

day 1 of actually building stuff again, plan is to finish leviathan before the summer is over, almost accidentally glued his arm to the flamer nozzle instead of the top part, as thats where pre primaris would go

Photos always make it look shittier + most phone cameras nowadays have baked in post processing you can’t turn off that makes any picture not look representative of how it looks irl

Slogging through assembling these. GW models are so damn fiddly these days. Rest of the second box to slog through now, I'm going to try to give them some corpse-grinder cult weapons.

>>98256762
Looks awesome, well done!
>>
>>98256973
Oh and a bunch of milliput to give the minotaurs necks and rebuild arms I cut to repose, but I'll do all that at once after I build them all.
>>
How long does it usually take you to paint a single mini?
I feel like I’m super slow
>>
>>98256992
Anywhere between four hours and a year and a half
>>
>>98256992
A few hours to many hours.. Weirdly when I try to paint fast or when I try to paint slow, I take about the same amount of time. I wish I could drastically reduce my standards or something so I could paint faster.
>>
>want an Eldar model to have ridiculously long daughters of khaine style hair
>still want the back banner thing
how do I do this without it looking dumb
>>
>>98257073
Allow me to introduce you to the concept of...
sculpting

>>98256992
Depends. 3 hours is like a speed paint for me. 10-12 is pretty standard for like a 'normal' paint job, and when I try it's maybe like 30 or 40.
>>
>>98256992
Actual painting time? 2- 3 hours, depending on the size of the mini.
In reality from when I start and actually finish?... a week or two. Sometimes a couple months. I'm not as motivated as other Anons here, and I have a lot of hobbies...
>>
>>98257082
>sculpting
No shit, the question is making it look good. I don't think having a banner just sticking out through the hair would work very well.
>>
Hey guys. I’ve let myself get duped into buying WGA’s plastic nano files.
Because I couldn’t find a better deal on Amazon of getting the cuticle and the other flat file. Without going over the price wargames atlantic was charging.
So I bit the bullet.

Plus the results usually kept saying they were bohemian glass or Czech crystal glass and I didn’t know if that meant nano glass or something better.

Did I screw up big time or are those files genuinely good for plastic model cleanup?

>>98256074
Nta but I wish I had this advice sooner.
A lot sooner. I’ve been stuck in preparation spirals constantly.
>>
>>98256849
Both sides of the leviathan box? That'll keep you plenty busy, what chapter and hive fleet are you going for.
>>
Does anyone have the latest Stahly PDF? I lost it since I had to reset my phone.

Little update on this guy
>>
>>98257151
I don't like files for cleaning up mold lines or whatever, removing something off of something they work okay for but the only time I found files were good were when models were made with metal (tin). Files leave tiny scratches in plastic that are hard to remove with a knife and often just make the model look worse. You think it looks good to the eye but then don't notice it until you prime. What are you using them for exactly?
>>
>Really like the Bestarium Games miniature designs
>They're all for either DnD or Trench Crusade
You're telling me these models aren't part of their own table top?
