I'm still baffled by how we've seen cathay and people are unironically discussing ind, kuresh and nippon (or wolf riders which we already have), when for the longest time the most "obvious" next faction in online discourse was fishmen
>>
>>98389991
Honestly? Black Crag. Its the main lair of Gorfang Rotgut but unlike many other orc tribe settlements, its a proper, well established fortress. Trade happens, the orcs force travellers to pay tolls. It'd be nice to see a proper Orc "Kingdom" in detail.
>>
>>98389991
Sudenburg since it would be interesting to see a developed imperial colny/trade Enclave in the Southlands

How does Ching Chong empire compare to Brautwurst empire? In playstyle and waifus
>>
>>98390479
Ching Chong Imperium has amazing artillery and cannons and some good tech pieces, along with unremarkable infantry and good value peasants. To build them competitively you lean heavily into your dragon blooded heroes.
Kraut Empire to be run competitively runs a lot of artillery, wizards and cavalry (monstrous and normal)
>>
>>98390451
I won't try to argue that that image, as well as most other ideas for a sea faction amongst people, aren't garbage.
but the fact that mantic jumped to fill the concept way back then, and that aos made underwater elves as one of their first truly new factions, should tip you to the fact that I'm not lying when I tell you people were discussing and expecting such a faction for a very long time, perhaps even more than cathay once.

Would be awesome for GW to expand on an are of the Old World so underdeveloped. Doesn't mater if it's based on Alfred Nuñez's additions or not, as long as it's properly fleshed out.
Also, I'm from ''Western-Estalia" and want to see the Fantasised version of it to be expanded upon. :)

I don't know if it's an editorial slip or if they're just sticking with the more established narrative, but I'll point out that Mannfred being revived from Hel Fenn deviates from the 8e fluff where he faked his death and simply went into hiding. I'm just noting it because they have previously gone out of their way to connect to 8e and ET fluff.
>>
>>98390653
Wait. The crusades were retconned? Since when?
>>
>>98390673
Maybe GW cares less about direct ET connection now
In the timeline section, they do mention that Felix Jaeger claimed to have met Mannfred, so I guess it's slightly up in the air since the WFRP takes place in 2513IC now, so only a decade until the End Times. They still have the elector count be a 16-year-old, so they're sticking with the Stirland elector count being very young by the End Times, which was only a piece of ET lore
There's also a random Mark of Chaos reference, which isn't something I was expecting.

Yeah and it was pretty funny. The war didn't start when it did as a result of meticulous planning or laborious preparation. Vlad was just sitting on the ass end of the Empire for decades until one day, out of nowhere, for no reason at all, a million tons of magical rock crashed right on his doorstep. It's like the universe went out of its way to give him the biggest handout he could have thought to ask for.

That image is from the lustria campaign of PadreMac. It took place 20+ years ago during 6th or 7th edition and it was published in "episodes" both on the old lustria forum, as well as Warhammer empire. One of his players run into a pygmy southland army (which was a reskinned version of a lizardmen army) and while some complained about it, it was only because they thought the pygmies didn't look menacing enough and were perhaps too small to represent lizardmen 1 to 1.

Unfortunately many many pictures went lost when photobucket and the other photosharing site in use at the time shat the bed, resulting in years and years of hobby content getting lost like tears in the rain. I was there anon, and if at the time it felt amazing, nowadays it feels almost magical.

PadreMac is currently running a 10+ year long campaing set in Tilea (search for Tilea's trouble) and he is the undisputed master of kino and soul warhammer fantasy. The creativity of what he puts out shoul be the guiding light of any one who values the hobby over the game.

Put them on a 25mm base and get a 25>30mm converter so you can choose whether you want them to be a gobbo or an orc based on the list you're bringing. Gobbo mode doesn't rank up though so you'll have to bring them as a lone character in that case. Not a huge problem for a shaman.

It was a bit of an impulse buy. I found a shockingly cheap, complete collectors edition of AoR and snagged it. Always wanted to play WHFB and bought some mixed Beasts and Warriors for Hordes, but the charming sculpts, missile spam and war machines and the chance to make a /mydudes/ Green Horde that should be reasonably compatible with most editions of Warhammer Fantasy forced my hand. That and Tomb Kings are too much to buy into and Vampire Counts, Ogres and Lizards are all Legacy armies for now, dammit. Thank you for your advice on basing, I will copy it to a text document to keep it handy!

Ah, if you're planning on playing older editions and not Old World, the base sizes are smaller. Just in case you weren't aware. The character comes with a 25mm base by default which if what orcs used to be on (goblins were on 20mm), but now orcs and goblins are on 30s and 25s respectively.
So the basing thing gets a bit more complicated.
>>
>>98393306
And I'm saying you're a fucking delusional mongoloid for wanting that because there's absolutely zero chance whatsoever that any of the dangerhair sidecut gigadykes, troons, and Gav Thorpe-tier cucks who make up modern Games Workshop paying any attention at all to a colonial city in Warhammer's not-Africa unless they have permission to turn it into an absolutely deranged woke abomination. If it happens at all, there WILL be blacks, and they'll be simultaneously helpless dindu victims of the ebil oppressive mayomonkeys AND somehow also occupy all positions of power and authority in the colony because they're just so amazing that discrimination can't keep them down.

C7 didn't refluff the Crusades to avoid offending the muzzies. C7 aren't the ones insisting the Empire's military is an Equal Opportunity Employer, or publishing novels about bow-wielding Bretonnian Ladyknights. C7 weren't the ones who hired a "sensitivity expert" to help them make their not-China an ethnically homogenous tribute to history and inoffensive to the modern Chinese while also openly bragging about how much they enjoyed painting loads of Black models for the Empire because history doesn't matter for white people everything has to look like inner London so modern customers can "see themselves".

Sane people don't wish GW ruin more stuff, they pray GW do as little as possible until they inevitably get bored of TOW and drop it again, in the desperate hope that Warhammer Fantasy survives their attention.

cathay is literally just everything that people used to hate tau for but with actual reason to hate them. The models aren't even novel for what they are which cant be said for tau ( the tanks and artwork they had/have is genuinely much more impressionable than anything cathay has done at all.)

One should hope for Fantasy to get more attention, not less; 9 years of being a dead setting was not a good thing.

Araby was not chaos. Chaos can't exist normally that far away from the vortex and polar gates, they used djinns and other daemon related creatures and Jafar made pacts with them but the reason necromancy is a threat and not chaos is because of the proximity of nehekhara and distance from actual rape you in the ass beastmen and norsemen.

Everything between the Worlds Edge mountains and Mountains of Mourn, and a bit North (ex: Hobgoblin Khanate)
It would be messy, but frankly I want the locations and extent of the Chaos Dwarf empire to be retconned, because I just dislike how they're dwarves but are out in the middle of a shit desert. The big fortresses like Zhar-Nuggrund or Tower of Gorgoroth are ok as outposts extending their area of control, but they should be living in new mountains in the plains of Zharr or in the northern Mountains of Mourn.

The lore makes the Marauders and Warriors of Chaos two separate groups.
But aren't they the same?

The notion that the worshippers of the gods of Chaos must be separated into distinct categories is the result of the men of the Empire being backwards and intolerant bigots, nothing more.

The Milita kit has some Greatswords, more 'basic' looking that the fancy Zweihander from the Greatswords kit.

Here's some Mordheim Champions, legs and heads are Greatswords, top, arms and weapons are Milita kit. Sadly there is a single Great Weapon in the kit, that Sword, so if you don't mind having all the weapon grip pose, it's good.

Id be tempted to grab a box of them to make pistol duellists for my DoW (despite having two units of duellists already, albeit non weilding pistols in sight) as well as using the spares for regular light cav (making them stradiot looking riders). Thorpe has never been anything other than a teaboy, a shitty short story writer with delusions of editing, and a literal Proud Cuck. He can claim all the poncy titles he wants, there's a reason even people who enjoy Black Library - amongst the pulpiest of pulp - groaned whenever they heard his name attached to a book.

Everything from 5th edition 40K and 7th edition WHFB was written by people with little to no involvement with the company during its heyday(as in, most of them were literally store drones or mail order packing trolls) with zero oversight by the people who actually created the IPs who had all left the company because of how shit and corporate it had gotten. By End Times I think Jervis might be the only person even tangentially involved with the IPs before Priestly's departure who was still around outside of the art department(who seem, to a man, to have been content to shit on their own legacies for years for the sake of a nice fat pension) and he was responsible for some of the dumbest decisions in GW's history.

GW hasn't been the company that *made* Warhammer for almost 20 years, they're just a random corporate entity that happens to own some trademarks and copyrights.

I have not! Which is odd, since I’ve read most of his “popular” work (the thing on the doorstep, the color out of space, cool air, etc.) I’ll look it up when I get home!

But there’s one issue. How does Lovecraftian horror work in Lustria when it’s aggressively anti-chaos? I would love to have shoggoth worms and horrible fungus-infected freaks, but those aren’t exactly Lizardman shticks. Unless… The Lizardmen take on the role of the local tribes? The people you never see, but can sense always watching. They are there to make sure you don’t spread the horror, not to keep you from finding it.

Oh that’s good, I like that. Lizardmen as the “endless cult,” in the Lovecraftian sense. They were here before you, they will be here after you. They will always exist.

Where do you think in Lustria you will put the players?
The Mound game you're referring to, I think, takes place somewhere on the Chilean coast since ACE Team are from there, and the west coast of Lustria is completely free of pre-established lore(outside of High elf colonies on Turtle Island), so it's a rather blank canvas for your game

>>
>>98399514
You're welcome. This also applies as a concept in general. A unit will always be dragged down to the lowest common denominator. If for example you put a character who moves say 5 inches into a unit that moves 6 inches, the entire unit can only move as fast as that character at 5 inches etc. If you put a frenzied character into a non frenzied unit, and the character fails the test, the entire unit must charge along with him etc.

And good, always go for charm and cool over effectiveness unless you're at a tourney of course.
>>
>>98399525
The West coast would be a little awkward to get to, wouldn’t it? That’s a long haul around Elvish territory. I could handwave the journey as being long and arduous, that’s not an issue. I do think a trip to Skeggi would be an interesting transition to the wilds of Lustria - the stinking Norscan port is deeply unpleasant and would establish there really are no “safe places” on this side of the planet.
