Are anime based miniature STLs more likely to get DMCA'd than Warhammer adjacent looking minis? I bought two anime miniature STLs and so far they look good quality. The author does good work.Problem is all of them are priced and I'm not sure how hard/easy it is to find the anime STL repositories to find them all so I have copies until I break free of poorfaggery and be able to buy them all (about 4k Canadian with included taxes I think). It is purple site so probably no discounts whatsoever.I've forgotten how to get into various circles on the piracy app because it has been a while. Also looking for PDF sharing (rulebooks, TTRPG setting books especially the out of print ones etc.) groups on piracy app if possible.Generally looking for machines from popular animes in STL form for printing.
Good to see people signing up to the channel (even if I have been slack updating the invite link... I will fix that now). A lot of lurkers though. Might need to do a purge soon.
>>98391801I believe there is another general on /tg/that handles the books. But his is a thread for tabletop game models. You might get an answer here for your trannime fettish here: >>>/diy/3dpg.
For the Anon dealing with the Meshmixer guide: accept the sum of my knowledge.https://mega.nz/file/eKZwlZzb#L2qqZSXOeHcfS4uQjt3v_qW21R5-86qNsVd8Bc-i9_M
>>98391817Fair enough then, thank you anon!
>>98389245No worries anon! I hope they spark much joy!
>>98391776> Remember that this general is monitored by GWendolin and her lawyersI’m new to these threads what?
>>98394052It means don't post direct links to what Geedubs would consider infringing material (whether its hosted, or torrents or groups or whatever), don't even post indirect links to the original material. If you do find something you like, download it, save it for later.Basically don't be a square faggot and don't be a stooge for corpo.
>>98392692Honestly dude the joy this has sparked is infinite. It's so appreciated. I've got most of the level 1 monster table from my vampire counts army but the CoT special characters were always elusive.
>>98391817>>98391843 hereI think that place is more focused on prints that serve functional machine purposes.I’ll try /toy/ or /m/ or even /a/ or /jp/.My stl collection isn’t limited to miniatures. But I’m sorry that this place may not have been the best starting point.
>>98394843/toy/ then /m/ might be your best bets. there are probably cheap niggers who print their models there
Is sirayatech resin a meme or genuinely good?I’m looking at their grey non brittle resin. Not the water washable variant.
Anyone have the current store for battlesanctum? I only learned about them a little while back but the page is already down.
>>98397243Can't help you James, sorry.
>>98397580That ain't my name and I ain't got no workshop. Maybe toss me a breadcrumb to find my way in?
>thousands of scans>can't decide what to print
>>98397156I can only vouch for the Fast gray, but yeah, that shit is good. I've had 28mm stuff printed with it survive a 3' drop onto linoleum.
>>98397670>thousands of scansAre they high quality and organized by faction? Can I have your orks, marine and guard stuff please? What is the best way to organize one's files anyways? My HDD is a mess and the unsorted folder is getting too big.
>>98397696>Are they high quality and organized by faction? Some are high quality, most are just meh to bad. Most of my shit is unsorted, but I do organize by faction and scan/proxy/bits when I get around to it.>Can I have your orks, marine and guard stuff please?Anything in particular you are looking for?>What is the best way to organize one's files anyways? No idea man I do it manually. When I do it, that is. My sorted folder is much much smaller than my unsorted.
>>98397718>Anything in particular you are looking for?Honestly I'd say everything as long as there aren't duplicates. I also think I'd like the GSC vehicles too. I don't know if the "lesn" gallery of recreated models will be enough for a fair trade. Those are always distributed everywhere. I don't know if the lesn guy quit and I don't know who has taken his spot.
sometimes I'm reminded that darwinism is real
>>98398121Im more concerned about what the fuck he's doing that not only requires gloves for every print, but also covers said gloves in resin. Does he fish around in the resin tank to make sure nothing fell in? I only need gloves when I'm pouring out the tank to replace the film or switch resin
>>98397670Roll a dice for it
>>98391776I made a reference picture for anyone who's printing or assembling the new 11th edition terrain, so you guys know what the ruins look like from the sides.
>Friend wants like 14 symbols for SM shoulder pads but they are small as hell>Print finishes fine and I breathe a sigh of relief>The base of the supports are more brittle than I expect despite being stuck to the build plate really hard>As I scrape off one of the sections a piece of at least three fly off onto the floor never to be seen again>need to print another set now>>98398759Thanks this will be handy, I was just starting to print out this foldable terrain set with my new P2S
>>98398905is that a fucking pokemon trainer space marine?
>>98399088Well yeah
>>98398905With fiddly stuff like that, I usually print a few extra. The spares will make up for pieces lost or broken, the reduction in screen and FEP life is the same, and the cost of the added resin used is essentially a rounding error.
>>98399171
>>98387219>>98387387>>98388630Finished the flesh hound-face bloodletters, with slightly bigger heads and more old school looking. I gave them the normal bloodletter swords. There's an old school juggernaut in there too that I made for my Lord. Files:catbox(dot)to/4xSWlG3P6kauSOy/file
>>98402156Also in that file are the previous dogletters and the 3 more "modern" juggernauts. Pic related is the oldskool juggernaut.
>>98402156I'd like to come back to this and make more weird bl00dcr*shers with more weird weapons and heads, but I have to finish my Lord of Skulls first among other things.

>>98398121Oh, reminds me of the dumbass who called resin printing dangerous because he moved a machine without emptying the vat, spilled resin over his pants and walked around in the sun without cleaning it up.
I am looking for chaos thugs and high/dark elf files if anyone has some floating around. Esp old dark elves like pic rel.
>>98402156>>98402163thank you so much! these look great!
>>98391834Oh nice, thanks, I will look this up in the next day or so and incorporate it. Thanks, anon!
>>98406246You're welcome! After I finish my lord of skulls I'll take another request. It was fun having a mission!
>>98406174these look so fun to paint. did one page rules ever make a similar model?
>>98391776I know this is a bit outside of minis but it's still /tg/ relatedAnyone got a preference or good model for tcg boxes? I've found a few that are okay but nothing that's felt perfect as of yet.
>>98407952If you like the sharp angles and statuesque sort of posing lucid eye miniatures has a whole range of elves. It's called elfking. It's a whole fantasy universe they created, very much high fantasy but with a mythical whimsy. The minis are really nice,.but they are all metal. The elves themselves run the gambit from dark elf types to more high elves and even wood elves that have a moral naturalesque feel. The sculptor there, Steve Saleh, runs the company with his son. They're good guys.
>>98398759Nu 40k keeps finding ways to become worse.
>>98391776Can't wait to see that badboy painted up
>finally have a house/game room>armies are all to a playable/painted state, able to run a full points game with any army>I should look into printing terrain now that i have a room for it>Look into ruins>its all either way to big to print in one piece or split up into a 1000 peice rube goldberg set up to be '''''modular'''''Its not like i have a small printer either; I'm running a saturn 3 ultra.
>>98408964Same anon, same... I tried to take time off but my wagelord wants me on shift to help train a new guy..... It's pissing me off because I need quite a long time to get into the zone and fully immersed in the sauce of kitbashing. I have 4 days off soon so I'm committed to finishing the build and getting him primed by the end of that.
>>98409546exhaust pipes on, very happy with them :)
>>98409435for larger terrain, you should honestly just take the scratchbuilt-pill
>>98409435Get involved in your local scene and talk to a tournament organizer. Odds are they know someone with the good terrain STLs, and they'll do a quid-pro-quo if you can print some terrain for their next tournament. Especially since 11e changed all the terrain AGAIN.
Which resin is a good alternative to elegoo water washable? the water washable one feels a little bit too brittle and less detailed
Do you guys use bracing for your prints?I don't know if it's even worth using for small 28mm models
>>98409435Resin printing terrain is a waste of time and money. Get a Bambulabs a1, they make good terrain at a lower cost. You can smooth PLA prints using ethyl acetate (apparently), I recently got a bottle of it and am about to start experimenting with PLA sprue goo.
>>98410105I use Sunlu ABS-like and it’s great, I got a really nice deal on 5 liters of the Sunlu ABS-like water washable and will switch over to it once I’m through with the regular Sunlu ABS-like.
>>98411344Different anon but is siraya tech a meme product or is it genuinely worth it's price for printing? I've seen a lot of posts about brittle plastics so I want the best. Not the water washable one too. Also I plan to get a wash+cure station. What are some best practices and things to use with those?
>>98411383>a lot of posts about brittle plasticsThat's all of the cheap resins. By "brittle," I mean that a 28mm mini won't survive a fall to the floor from waist height without something breaking. The cheap resin shills and noprintz have a different definition apparently. Maybe they don't game. Probably they don't game. People painting display pieces can use basically whatever resin they want, but if these are gaming pieces, use good resin. The added price per mini is minimal. Cheap resins are great for verifying function and supports because they're cheap and super easy to print with, but they suck for gaming pieces. Gamers know that. Nogamez do not. Remember this.> is siraya tech a memeNot exactly. Their Tenacious is a great way to make those shitty brittle resins more useful. Their Tenacious Easy is basically a factory version of regular brittle resin mixed with Tenacious. It prints very well and doesn't need special heating. Ignore the manufacturer's directions on curing, only hit it for a minute or two at most. Three minutes or more will make it start to get brittle, which defeats the whole purpose of buying an expensive resin that prints well without being brittle.>wash+cure stationWash in the wash station, wash again in a separate container of "clean" IPA, then cure. When the "clean" IPA gets cloudy and shitty enough, dump it into the wash station to replace evaporative losses and refill the "clean" container with new IPA. The wash station alone won't do the entire job properly after a cycle or two, but that contaminated IPA will remove the major nastiness for a long time. Some guys put their whole build plate in there. If you like wrecking your IPA even quicker and contaminating your resin vat as a bonus, go ahead and do this. Otherwise, scrape your prints off into the vat and leave the build plate alone. If they don't come off easily enough to make this possible, fix your bottom exposure times.
Once I found a mega of not just GW stuff but old GW stuff. It’s gone now so don’t ask me.But it was weirdly organised.Sometimes there was an entire box of monopose WFB 4/5E figures or the 40K 2E Tactical Squad.Other times there was just two of three figures from the command spruce for the WFB 6E Empire state troopers.Really eclectic mix.
Asking all my homies on here: Anyone got experience with elegoo abs-like 3.0 on a Saturn 4 ultra 16k? I've been running like, 60s bottom layer exposure 2.8s normal layer exposure. Upside: it prints for sureDownside: you have to be King Arthur to get this shit off the plate. Also it feels like supports are harder to remove than they really should be. Went to 40s bottom layer and 2.4s normal and it didn't print at all, so thinking to try 50s bottom layer, see how that goes. Thoughts from others who're on the same conditions?
>>98411676Which colour you using? Black? Grey?
>>98411676chatgpt says Bottom exposure: 30–35 sNormal exposure: 2.5 – 3.0 sNot sure why you need 50-60s bottom exposure? Is your resin and room cold or heated?
>>98411676How thick are the layers you print with?I print on my 9k S4U with 0.25 thick layers and 25s bottom exposure and 1.7 for normal layers and it prints fine. Is your resin warm enough? ABS like resins are a bit thicker, so warming it up and adding some wait before cure helps with the bottom layers.>>98411844I can not understand why you would use a clanker when somebody asks for your experience. If people want answers from an LLM, why would they post here?
>>98411676Never owned or used a saturn 4 ultra 16kAre you pre-heating the buildplate? If nothing sticks to the build plate, you probably need to relevelMassively overexposing bottom layers can act as a solution but then it can ruin dimensional accuracy and also every time you feel the need to chisel your prints off the build plate, you're ruining the leveling of your build plate which will cause more issues later onMake sure you're removing the models with the build plate held perpendicular to the surface it's placed on
>>98412218I also checked Lychee community profiles, chatgpt is in the right ballpark. That's why I would use a "clanker", because it's mostly correct.
>>98412798So if Lychee's the answer (yeah, nah, it ain't that simple) then why bother with the middleman that might be correct and might tell you that glue is an excellent pizza topping instead of just going straight for the source? Simple, you're addicted, and needed your hit.
>>98412835I never said it was the answer, use your brain. It was quick information used for deductive reasoning - if multiple sources are saying less than half of anon's exposure time, it's worth questioning why this is the case.
>>98411472I appreciated and enjoyed this story. I was right there with you. The joy of discovery and exploration, the pain of loss.. the mystery of it all...
>>98412883Lychee is what you used to fact check your slop. Either it's good enough for that, in which case you had no reason to bother with the slop, or it isn't, in which case your slop remains unverified. And no, asking the sycophant bot isn't adding another source for reliability any more than taking shrooms and asking your desk lamp. You do it to get your hit, that's all.
>>98412942Nope, checked Lychee first, which basically is enough on its own. You select the exact printer and resin and can see the rate of successful prints for each profile. Care to show me an example of chatgpt being wrong about anything 3D printing related? I'd take you more seriously with some evidence.
>>98413143>which basically is enough on its own....but you needed to get your hit, so slop it is.
>>98413224Ok, I guess congratulations on flexing about not using AI on 4chan traditional games board lol. I, for one, am proud of you anon.
>>98413388anyone can go ask a chatbot if they want a chatbot tier answer, mohinder
>>98413641Cool story bro!
Whats a good midrange fdm printer for beginners?
>>98411837Grey>>98411844Yeah, room is pretty warm, and the printer has a heater anyway.>>98412218I think I'm printing .3 give or take. Need to check that. Weirdly that doesn't work for me at all. The resin should be warm the printer has a heater to be honest and the room is warm anyway.>>98412278The saturn 4 ultra does auto levelling shit. I don't think it's the problem. So, part of the problem is also that I mixed in a bit of leftover Sunlu ABS like with the Elegoo stuff. Discovered that requires more exposure time, which was how I got to 60, but at this point it should be like 95% elegoo and 5% sunlu but... it still seems to be demanding more. But even before, I was running 45s obligatorially on the pure elegoo so. It's odd how unknown factors affect this stuff.
>>98415408I use 20 seconds bottom exposure 3 layers with sunlu abs like so maybe you're not doing something right with your process, I suspect not heating the build plate could be the issue but also you haven't leveled it could also explain your problemThe saturn 4 ultra does need to be leveled despite what the marketing says
>>98415451Hmmm maybe. Thing is I've had a ton of successful prints so it doesn't really feel like that's the issue. I'm not heating the plate that's true, but it's warm as hell where I'm at right now so I wouldn't expect that to be it. By "a ton of successful prints" I mean everything from "a bunch of torsos and shoulders" up to a full single piece demon prince. And they've come out very nice, just really sticky to the build plate and the supports feel a bit too attached. The defiler has *some* gaps in a few places that make me question my dimensional accuracy but it isn't all bad by any means and just requires a bit of gap filling not "oh lord you can stick a finger in there". So I'm just not sure.
>>98415493Don't have the 16k only the 12. Had similar issues though. Clean it. Clean the screen then drain and clean everything. May be a few tiny floaters. Filter the resin too and make sure it's well mixed.Level it. The auto leveling is good but never hurts to verify. My burn in is 5 layers at 30 seconds followed by 2.7 seconds per layer. .05mm layers. The pwm for the light is at 60%I keep it at 25 degrees so the resin flows nice but still had to increase the dwell after lifting. Might want to give it a half second or so just to give it time for the resin to settle.
>>98415451>I suspect not heating the build plate could be the issueThe printer uses the buildplate to stir the resin when that's heated, meaning it''ll get warmed up too.>>98415408Are you running any "wait before cure" on your burn in layers?
Is a resin printer worth getting if I just want to print and paint a lot of miniatures? I don't really play any games and there aren't any groups near me anyway. What size printer do you recommend? Where can I find sculpts with late 90s to 2010s GW metal quality?
>>98417104www.google.com, faggot.
Who is your guys favorite proxy artists? I like tortuga bay's work and some stuff on pop goes the monkey but I want to find more
>>98415408Weird anon,,, could be the mixing of different resins.. I would probably follow the other anon's advice and drain everything, clean everything, manually level, then refill with one type of resin only. Then if I were you I'd just use Lychee and a matching community profile. Failing all that, maybe something is broken in the printer's brain / machine spirit..
