Someone uploaded a vid to yewtube recently on why current mtg design is bad. It's a lot of nonsense steaming from his favourite deck being overrun by powercreep, and some Commander hate as well. But one thing that he figured right is that current gameloop is entirely solitaire-like. There is no player to player interaction. Everyone just does his own thing, ramps for mana, then drops his own bombs. The first to accomplish this, wins. Only thing that's left to do is throw a counterspell or two, but even that's discouraged by various Cavern of Souls lands, and uncounterable mechanic. Imho, that's spot on, and it's going more and more in that direction.
Long games are bad and boring, I get that, but the way that they're fighting them with bombs that decide matches with no interaction needed, is very wrong.

Timeless and historic are both fun. Getting to run 4x strip mine in timeless is ridiculous. Dimir is good in both formats. Psychic frog, Tamiyo, Kaito are playable in both. Timeless laddering can be a real dice roll, you're going to get hit with turn 1 losses you can't even respond to a lot. Historic is a bit better for it I'd say, but you can use the shell of the deck in either one and just tailor it to what's legal.

I've mostly been playing mono red prowess to knock out the daily wins as fast as possible. But I finally caved and crafted Stormchaser's talent this week since I basically had every other card I needed for the izzet prowess deck, it is so much better than mono red. It's slower but has way more game and takes a lot to run out of steam. It's fun just brewing shitter decks in pio and taking it into the unranked queues, you run into a lot of random decks there.

Draft is pay to enter. You'll get a few tokens for free to enter draft, after that you'll need to pay golds or gems to enter draft. There are some drafts that allow you to keep cards that you draft, so you get something out of them. It's a fun format, but entry fees are simply too high to play constantly. That artifacts are more removable than enchantments is deliberate and has been the case for a long time, but you can just compare Perilous Snare with Aang's Iceberg or Trapped in the Screen (which is a common btw) for example.

The thing with cutter is that it's useful only for spellslinger. Artifacts that are decent and synergize with other artifacts are super rare (for example Simulacrum Synthesizer)

Jeskai wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for jeskai revelation. Though that being said after switching from orzhov skeletons to selesnya counters, I have a winning record against jeskai. Surrak is good and I can quickly rebuild. Plus, a strategic snakeskin veil is great.

I will say I dislike that selesnya counters has almost no interaction. Orzhov skeletons has 4x sheltered by ghosts, 4x seam rip and 4x nowhere to run. It's more fun tactically remove creatures and force damage through.

Whereas selesnya counters is mostly just ignore the opponent, windmill slam threats and get bigger/wider than they can deal with. I get a lot of concedes before even swinging with selesnya but with orzhov games usually ended with me actually killing them. More satisfying then just a concede when ouroboroid triggers or whatever.

Deck. I can't recommend crafting it, though, it's boring as fuck. Upside is that it's versatile and can be a good matchup against most current meta. It's not an easy deck to play, though. You need to change approach depending on matchup a lot. Against opponents with a lot of removal, you earthbend Fabled Passage and Petrified Hamlet for mana ramp. You also remove some Badgers and Elves when sideboarding.
>Applied Geometry can be replaced by anything, not a great fit for the deck, I just like fooling around with that card.
>Imago works suprisingly well with Nature's Rythm. I won many games by calling him up with it.
