no leaks on the new necromunda rules yet?
So LOTR is now MESBGWhat does that mean for its future?
>>98435193It's just going to be a game for all the Newline films, so expect new Milkwood models next year when the new film is coming out
Is this new starter box decent for actually startering Necromunda? Is Necromunda even fun? Do I even like games? Why hasn't my package been delivered yet I've been waiting for a month?
>>98435224Realistically, what can they even release? It's the hunt for Gollum. There won't be any grand battles unless they make them up (which isn't out of the question, but still). Other than yet another version of Gollum/Aragorn/Gandalf, I struggle to think what they could do.
>>98435236Chris is THIS CLOSE to letting someone have the first age. Dagor Bragollach box set soon. Trust
>>98435185The few things we have, basically changed things for change sake.Initiative and mental stats are just numbers instead of the old x+
>>98435264Why does a cat have ballistic skill?
>>98435264I assume L on a guns stats is just D?
>>98435349Spraying
>>98435228yes, yes (although new edition so who knows), no, because bad karma
>>98435370Nope - L is number of injury dice rolled if you take someone down to 0 wounds or hit them when they're on 0 wounds. Damage, as in multiple wounds removed on a hit, is a trait now
>>98435228protip: if your cats food dish is full 24/7 from the when they're a kitten, the cat never gets fixated on food and self-regulates so you only need to fill it weekly instead of 3 times a day, happier cat, less work for you.
>>98435489You type amazingly well with paws, I would almost think you are an actual human and not a cat pushing propaganda.
>>98435243After all these years of being an elfaboo, I hope we won't see it happening. Jackson's trilogy was a happy accident, imperfect as it was, but nothing good will come out of the modern corporate content mills.
>>98435290Gee, I wonder why!And what kind of an idiot can't get around a 4chan ban as easy as breathing? This is just confirming what I'm saying about your problems with LRB6, you need multirerolls because you're a fucking moron, you can't handle wood elves or lizardmen because you're an asinine jackass.
>>98435771Also spaying/neutering is not a health benefit, sure you can't get testicular or oavarian cancer without testiculars or ovaries, but the chance of cancer isn't reduced, you just trade which kind of cancer the cat might get, in the tradeoff you increase obesity odds too, so it's a net negative, better to just keep your domestic cats indoors. Also a cat shouldn't be solo in the home, you need at least two cats so they can play instead of staring out the window all the time.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FSSLnFFYjYYeah I'm sticking to N17 I think.
>160 dollars>for sixteen miniatures>paypigs are still gonna buy itYou don't hate these people or this company enough.
>>98437593that $55 more than the Kill Team starter set I guess it has plastic terrain
>>98437596IT HAD PLASTIC TOKENS, OMGGGGG!!!!1!
>>98437627I guess that was done so GW doesn't have to rely on their Chinese factory as much and can just produce it in the UK
Nu-Nu-Cromunda interesting tidbits:>Xp, level cap, and model with starting xp.>All weapons deal 1 damage unless they have damage (x) trait. Lethality is the new weapon stat that determine number of injury dice roll>Armor Save are 3+ cap, roll of 1 and 2 will always fail>no more partial/full cover, only cover. Cover provided +1 save at short range, and +2 save at long range. So guns with high AP don't care about cover.>Only rapid fire and Ammo (x) weapon can run out of ammo. Reload always success unless scarce (x). Failing 2 rolls of either (some weapon have both RF and ammo traits) lead to Jam, weapon disabled for the battle. Rapid fire do not work in close combat. Weapons basically expect to run out of ammo much more often.>Ammo profiles now operated independently, can keep using other profile if one out of ammo/jam.>Weapon with heavy trait are absolutely fucked, shooting is always double, having bulging bicep allow user to move a short distance before shooting. Suspensor only make (*) weapon cost 1 slot. Heavy weapons usually come with Rapid Fire and/or Ammo, so if you ran out of ammo, you can't shoot next turn because shooting is double. Getting pin (called suppressed now) also meant no shooting either.>Blaze no longer cancer but it's still kinda is, now cause extra hit on wound roll. Heavy Flamer do not have heavy trait, and Hand Flamer can now be used in Close Combat.>All plasma weapons have 1 profile with unstable, bit come with rare Damage (2) trait and Lethality 2.>Rad weapons got nerfed, oh wow kek.>Some trading post items have TP cost on top of credit cost. Gain TP depend on who you sent to TP, Leader : 2 TP, Champ : 1 TP. Meh I'm too jaded to care about the rest. Gonna skip this indexes and paypigs being used as free playtesters for GW until something more intersting and affordable come out.
>>98437720I’m cautiously optimistic on 2nucromunda. I don’t like the changes to placed templates (i.e. no more speculatively firing a grenade launcher) but close combat is better, the weapon traits are overall better, armor is better, advancement is better, skills are better (but still flawed) and will be used more, and xp gain and the campaign mechanics including gearing up also look better. They have utterly failed to make heavy weapons work for the 3rd time in a row. Highlight for me is that even ordinary gang members can now be ‘the medic’ or ‘the big guy’ from starting at at your choosing, which i think incentivises a lot of roleplaying which will bear out in actual play even just at the gang creation and modelling stage. I think it definitely looks better than either game they produced in 2018 or 2023, I’m not sure if it has the old-school magic, but it does seem to draw certain things from the OG and even Mordheim that I wasn’t expecting.I don’t think it has been too simplified either, although coming from Infinity I do think the disallowing placed grenades thing is just pure laziness from a design perspective.
Also shotguns requiring TP (Trading Post) points is just dumb thematically especially as they also made them more expensive and overall somewhat nerfed all of them except the sawn-off. But most of the rest looks pretty good and the stuff previewed and leaked has me thinking about a gang, which imo is what you want.
>>98435489What if it just eats all the time and gets really fat?
>>98435228Get the Underhive Crew box. The starter box are overpriced table decoration crap for tourists, they gave you the most basic bitch shits that you could already get from the Crew boxes. You don't even get a full 10 guys gang from the new "starter" box. Yep time to start my gang with sub optimal number of members with the most basic weapons imaginable, at a premium price!
>>98437720The rad weapons thing is bonkers. They took something that was slightly overpowered when it was released, nerfed it useless a yearish later, and now have nerfed it to so insanely useless it boggles the mind.Anyway, this edition has some decent balance changes (Skill rebalance, changes to cdg and serious injuries) but other stuff is completely fucking soulless like they're trying to make it kill team, and the change to cover and long range/short range is so insanely retarded it completely nixes any chance I'm preordering the books.
Also they took away vehicle damage tables so now vehicles are just really large Brutes that can only move in straight lines. WTF.
Find it interesting there's zero point to giving Champions heavy weapons if they don't get Brawn as Primary as you can just take a specialist who gets Bulging Biceps for free.
>>98437782Spayed/neutered cats do that if youve restricted their food, if they aren't and you haven't, they don't.cats naturally prefe a dozen or so small meals in a day and night, the human 3 meal pattern fucks with them as they go from too full to too hungry.
>>98437992Will add them back in a 48-page supplement, no doubt
>>98438194>now that GW took away the rules I already own I have to buy the new rules and wait for them to allow me to play the way I've been playing already.
>>98435264Tbf I prefer stats as you have more limits and weird stuff. I hated in 40k when it turned into pure rolls. I want the WS and BS back as well.
>>98438017In general the balance is off for heavy weapons. They are so restrictive to fire that a regular meltagun is far superior to the now-nerfed multi-melta even though the latter is 10 credits more expensive. Putting a 25 credit cloak that nullifies the AP rating of all las, plasma and melta weapons in the game was certainly also a choice.
>>98438017There weren't any point giving champ 2 pistols either. Even with the correct primary skill, giving champs the same skill as a specialist feel really retarded.
>>98437720Honestly the changes feel good. Most of them are centered around things I had problems with in N17, so I’m fairly happy.
The new boxes are kinda cheaper than I was expecting. Do they really all have their respective upgrade sprues?
>>98438568Store said the underhive crew get a full 2 frames of upgrade sprue. Warcom said 1. Check unboxing vids first.
>>98438568>Do they really all have their respective upgrade sprues? It says they do on the GW webstore, but it's not shown in any of the photography
>>98438586They reused the same painted models for box art. You expected too much for lazy fucks at GW.
>>98438557Honestly I feel there is little point to champions themselves when you can make half your gang gunslingers or doctors or heavy weapons guys or berserkers at starting. But perhaps getting rid of champions would have been too much, or they wanted to hang on to models with superior profiles.
>>98437720This is reminding me a lot of OPR firefight.Which is fine, but if I wanted to play OPR Id play that.
>>98438625Aside from higher stats and 2W, you need champs for medical and trading post run. And only champs/Leader got access to top tier skills like Nerve of steel, spring up, fast shot. The problem is the new system removed the cowboy build from most gangs that didn't have shooting primary. I'm surprised they still remember Orlock has matching left/right for their pistols so they got Shooting primary this time.
>>98438737Some of the TP costs are weird. I am kind of in favour of scaling back the tech of the average gang, but having to spend TP points to acquire a sawn-off or just a big hammer feels retarded. Gangs should be able to throw that shit together in the yard. I think a scale of 1-4 points for items just isn’t granular enough.
>>98438772It's not scaling back tech since gang list are still unlimited, it just discouraged people from buying outside of their list, and put a soft solution for group that play on high credit system to keep them from amass strong gears even with massive of amount of credit.
I don't want to be that guy but is it actually a good deal? I wasn't impressed until I noticed they include two upgrade frames as well. 10 gangers, 6 Forge-Born/Stimmers and 2 upgrade frames for 65EUR sounds good. Do you think grabbing a single box is enough to build a complete gang for OG Necromunda?
>>98438898It's a good deal and the goliath frame add some nice aesthetic variety to the gang. But generally Goliath use Ork or space marine bits for their shits, because the upgrade sprue and kits weapons are either lacking or just garbage.
>No more ammo checks for common normal weapons>No more puzzling out your rules from 10 years of different books or some sketchy Russian website>More hangers-on>Cleaned up melee rules>New plastic leader and pets sets incoming. We eating good tonight, Mundabros. Whiners, N95-only grogs, NoGames GW haters, and Killteam autists in absolute shambles.
>>98435349knocking shit flying off tables
>>98438981>Every house leader, champion and ganger is 90% the same statline as every other leader, champion, ganger.>If not for Goliath's extra toughness and Goliath and Van Saar randomly getting fucked on movement and initiative this would be 100%.>No reason to take most heavy weapons.>All the missions are stand in circles bullshitGame punishes you for going more than 3" above the tabletop.>Lost Finesse, Muscle, Tech, etc skills even though there's plenty of space for them in gang books.>Malstrain still can't be run as a real gang.>Vehicles are just Brutes that can't engage enemies.
How do we feel about all ganger profiles being nearly identical? An enforcer, escher ganger and delaque ganger are pretty much identical on all fronts. Even enforcers only get a 6+ save to begin with
>>98439143I think that's based and oldmundapilled.
An anon posted pic awhile ago. I think I could replicate it pretty easily(prime red-brown, sponge on orange-brown). I'd horribly regret it if I tried to do those inner panels as concrete, wouldn't I?
>>98439120Statlines being the same literally doesn't matter. I don't agree with the verticality part: for one Catfall means you treat a fall of any height as a survivable one, so it incentizes that skill on someone you want high up, and two falling should be fucking deadly in Necromunda. If you want to perch on an 8" spire peak with a hunting rifle you should have to risk a deadly fall. They nerfed knockback weapons considerably, with it usually triggering randomly now, and you get a 50% save from agility anyway.I also don't agree with the skill condensation. It would be nice in theory to have all these skill lists and have all the skills be good, but that's never been true in any edition of Necromunda. Condensing it till at least 3 of the skills in each category are worth taking is an improvement, even though they should be able to do better.Otherwise, I agree with all your points. Vehicle rules feel like they don't want to be there but were added in because of the N18 legacy. Missions could be a lot more creative.
>>98438898Yes it's fine. This is literally what I bought individually when I was building gangs. Obviously over time everyone is probably going to get new models like these Escher and Goliath, but if you just want a gang the boxes are reasonable, give you options and will allow for some decent kitbashing.
>>98439228Hey thats mine! Its actually even easier. All I did was prime black, so a heavy and messy drybrush of mournfang brown, then a light drybrush of silver to catch the edges. Though your idea of spongeing could definitely take it up to the next level. The lights I painted white then did a wash of cassandora yellow.I’m not kidding when I say I could blow through a huge amount of terrain in an afternoon with that method.
>>98435947>I wonder whydabbing on polish too hard on /pol/. Slavs really bite the bait.damn you are one angry third world tranny. tell me more about how you are currently ban evading and violate site rules, retardo.everyone likes the multi rerolls, they make exciting plays like quick scoring and cage diving more likely. everyone likes that lizardmen were nerfed. Andy Davo specifically mentioned that NAF rules packs are designed to keep lizardmen underpowered otherwise the whole tournament would be lizard mirrors and black orcs do the same stuff and are more balanced.literally no one is crying about the leap nerf. you are just angry and retarded. if you weren't you would find a real flaw with the current rules to bitch about, but you can't, because you are dumb
>>98439079Skill issue, cats are very trainable, you choose to let them remain half feral.
>>98439228No, concrete is doable with ease
Do we have the unique house rules for all the gangs yet?
>>98438737>/Leader got access to top tier skills like Nerve of steel,I thought I was reading blood bowl for a second
>>98439631Just some base stats I think, like Escher getting +1 to agility checks.>>98439660The way advances and gangs work now is unironically a combination of old Necromunda, Mordheim and Bloodbowl. They finally did it. They finally made NECROBLOODHEIM.
>>98439388I never caught any bans for this, you did. Figure it out faggot.
>>98439120I'm with other anon on the statlines, OG Necromunda had basically identical stats everywhere with just skill access to distinguish, start the same and then diverge.Do not mistake this as an endorsement of the new edition, it's retarded, but even a broken clock can be right once in awhile.
>>98439786you absolutely did, homo
>>98439809I've been wishy-washy on the entire arc of necromunda since 2018, mainly because the first 4 or 5 years they just tilted to upscaling and powering-up everything, but I do think this game looks better than that one did out of the gate.
>>98439120>>98439239The scenarios are the biggest issue, they look like nu-hammer slop instead of anything interesting. Hopefully later books add more fun scenarios, otherwise I'll likely have to homebrew them all in
>nunucromunda There's definitely a really funny XP farming build with that skill that lets you roll mental to get a bonus XP every time someone near you gets XP.
Ok but how was the Oldcromunda? Without wearing the rose-tinted glasses, how is it superior to Nucromunda and NuNucromunda? I'm asking strictly about the rules, I don't want to hear about "the old core box had paper scenery and 2 more monopose minis!".
>>98439833I'm not surprised to see that you're a schizo as well as a moron.
>>98439903if two units have that skill it creates an infinite loop
>>98440005It followed the KISS design principle, it was created to be a one-off complete box, they team was forced to create some supplements for it which were forced into something meant to be whole on it's own, so that is an issue (rules for every 40k faction to be played in some game-breaking extent) but that's not different from the endless scope bloat of n17 and n17 was far worse on that point. As was already said, gangs were basically identical to start and they developed along different lines, your campaign made your dudes unique, so everything was earned, this also meant that balance was perfect.
>>98437948This, the crew boxes are a rare example of GW actually giving you a good deal. Will sell for 59,20€ and will probably finally convince me to start necromunda
>>98439524whats the girl on the left from? i like her
>>98438898the crew boxes are an overall good deal if you want to start the respective ganggoliath and escher got new models in the starter box though
>>98440045It was balanced in the sense each player could abuse the similar things I guess. Weapons and skills definitely weren’t balanced.
>>98440017you are one angry and retarded third worlder. is it because no one plays crp anymore and also because your country cant invent AC or the indoor toilet and you have to shit outside?
>>98440005It really just depends what you like. Oldcromunda had less complex and less developed rules, but was much more about two bottom-of-the-barrel street gangs kicking the shit out of each other.
>>98440126print, sculptor is 55mm, head and pistol are digital kitbash.Bikini girl is ghamak, shotgun kitbashed as well.Sadly I still haven't finished painting the gang, even these two are still WIP
>>98440136CRP is for faggots, I play LRB6, you're such a newfag
>>98440204NTA but isn't CRP just LRB6 but with Games Slopshop IP bits removed to not be taken down every 3 minutes?
>>98440240no it's GW's revision to be used in events so tge lore is stripped and team list is reduced, it was an interim to be used up until they released 2016 which had like... 6 teams in the core rulebook? and 2016 was itself just the crp cut up into bits with the major distinctions being the result of editing errors (stated in an interview).2016 did have some value, being a (botched) copy+paste means all the extras work for LRB6, do stars, giant, infamous coaching staff, etc... same as the 3rd/4th edition side content, backporting and forward porting makes LRB6 the most expansive version to play even if you don't grab stunty leeg and secret league as well.
>>98440240This >>98440284 is bullshit. You are right that CRP is LRB6 with missing lore sections and 3 missing teams (Pacts, Slann and Underworld).
What is the bare minimum of fixes you would introduce to LRB6? Never played with it so I may as well add the most necessary houserules from the start.
anyone know if the new escher and goliath kits are cross compatible with the old gang kits?like weapons, heads etc, I'd expect the weapon upgrade kit to be, thus the old gang kit too
>>98440362>everything anon said is true but it's bullshit, now I will repeat what anon said>>98440422Don't play online multiplayer, tabletop games weren't made for a digital environment.
>>98440457No hard evidence, but I would assume not, i don't think the Tek Hunters from Secundos were either
>>98440474The tec hunters were cross compatible
>>98440204they're literally used interchangeable, you retarded sperg>>98440240>>98440362pact, UW and slann are attached to the end of the CRP pdf half the time too. that fag is just a retarded sperg>>98440422fumbbl had a bunch with not doing the cards or some of the other inducements right, both for balance and because they were annoying to implement. Like BB2 never implemented the majority of the inducements and certainly not the ones christer failed to implement on fumbbl and I don't think they were commonly used in NAF tournaments.A lot of the teams aren't very balanced as well. Chaos and Nurgle can get out of hand if you let the game go on for too long. Lizards were overpowered and got nerfed in subsequent editions because they were and still are ridiculously overpowered unless you can kill the the big lizards usually via clawpomb or can get into the cage reliably because they have shitty 2 ST no general access ball carriers and most lizard coaches didn't take sure hands or guard. Wood Elves and Undead were also 2 stand out teams at the time that won a ton. Pretty much every team that was introduced after GW put out third edition, but before you started getting fan fict teams like pact, slann, berts and underworld were super overpowered, like Amazons, undead, wood elves and lizardmen and the LRB era committee didn't really nerf them at all and all of the teams that came out after the LRB committee started were way underpowered because the committee didn't want to make OP teams. like brets were intentionally weird to keep them weaker. As much as that one sperg keeps going >GW bad>GW wants to sell modelsthey/them is too dumb to recognize that all of the fucking teams that were released as expansion teams for 3rd edition were OP as fuck so GW could sell more models because why would you play as humans or orcs or another core race that was in the original 3E when the newshit was better and LRB never nerfed those races as much as they needed to
Is anyone else also finding the new books for necro are sold out everywhere?Have any of the gang builders updated yet?
>>98440738Gaslighting faggot, gw's teams (mostly copied from secret league) are, like every product they release, the best thing until the next thing comes out.LRB6 was not perfectly balanced, but it also was never intended to be, stunties, vampire and khemri are bad on purpose, but all this whinging over lizards and wood elves just says none of you have ever played more than 5 matches because if you had you can turn any elf team into a wood elf clone. clawpomb was never a complaint outside of online gaming, it is literally a nonissue in tabletop and this is /tg/ not /vg/ so your complaints about videogames are off-topic. crp is only an "interchangerable term" for faggots that only heard about the LRB when GW decided to steal the BBRC's work for 2016.>>98440240>>98440422If you want to know how LRB6 was viewed when it was current by people who aren't trying to gaslight actual retcons of actual history then a good source is the Three Die Block podcast archives, you can go back to 2009 and follow along from the perspective of actual players and not shills ITT for EITHER SIDE of this argument, old podcasts are about as objective as you can get when well-poisoners lurk here to do everything they can to convince you the new thing GW is doing is always the best thing.
>>98440929you're a fucking retard. you can go pull up old NAF and fumbbl data. Wood elves were the most consistently winning NAF team throughout the entire CPR era along with Undead. And on fumbbl lizards were the most winning progression team from between like 1100 tv when they got their third reroll and some block until like 1800/1900 tv when the claw pomb shit started. even now wood elves are tier 1 in every naf tournament and lizards are considered a super good team so long as they aren't playing like Khorne or one of the AG teams that can get into their cage easily. jimmy fantastic constantly points out what a shit matchup they are for basically every other team.you are just a gay retard who is mad no one plays lrb6 and you're mad your favorite OP teams got nerfed >bitching about shillsyou're the biggest shill ITT retard. any time anyone ever brings up blood bowl you have an autistic spergfit and shill your 17 year old rules pack
>>98441039>look at videogame data don't listen to people who are actually playing the TABLETOP game in that period of history!I knew you'd get assblasted over that. too bad you can't pull their archives off the net, eh?
>>98441055NAF is live in person tabletop, retard
>>98441091>fumbblcherrypicking jackass
>>98440457Troonhammer said the Escher were, but the Goliath wasn't, the fem Goliath obviously won't be compatible and the new Goliaths are bigger. Which is as expected. Although Escher kits are pretty annoying because they came in different hand sizes, some are tiny, some are huge.
>>98441242Why would NAF players like Andy Davo who play table top tournaments comment on lizards being over powered and rules packs needing to not give them too much if lizards weren't OP, retardo?
>>98441039NTA but shilling requires a product to pay for
>>98441380Anecdotal comments? So we're back to telling people three die block archives are a valid data point.
>>98441483you can find the current bb rules online for free. they/them is shilling because they/them want people to play bb2 with they/them>>98441489>Anecdotal comments?it's a completely different situation. Davo writes rules for NAF and wrote the rules that are being used for arena mode in blood bowl 3. Do you think the 3 die block guys are better experts than Andy Davo, Jimmy Fantastic and the fags who wrote the yurobowl and world cup rules packs?
>>98441506>expertsNice moving goalpost, but hey you've moved it so far that your opinion is also worthless, unless you have international level competitive standings you'd like to share? Oh and hey let's just gloss over all the international level competitiors who were on the show and the actual game developers going back to the early editions to, eh?>to play bb2I'm not surprised that you're an ignorant dipshit, i've only said /vg/ shit doesn't have any place here how many fucking times?
>>98440929So in your opinion I should play LRP6 as it is, with no changes introduced?>>98440738Okay, so at the end of the day, what are the most necessary fixes a person wanting to play with CRP should implement for the more pleasant experience?
>>98441662>I'm not surprised thatyou've shilled bb2 in this general on more than one occasion you retarded faggot.>Nice moving goalpostI didn't move the goal posts at all. NAF ignores GW rules all the time. they were down with leaving LRB6 behind and their data shows wood elves and lizards were op and that's why in their current rules packs lizards are always given too little to be viable and why wood elves always had the best win rate in the LRB6 era. Turns out 7 st4+ players and having more movement than most teams is OP as fuck and leaping into a cage on a 3+ is op as fuck. >>98441766just use the new rules
>>98441795Only as a tool for new players to familiarize themselves with the game, particularly tactically, it handles the rules perfectly and lets you focus on play, and I also specify against the computer, or in hotseat mode, either to play a physical opponent in the same room, or to play against yourself.Once a new player can reliably beat the games AI, they are ready for play against live opponents, it relieves the newby burden from the local group and lets the newb approach as a competent player.Never ever as an online game, and that isn't even possible anymore, which relegates it to learning tool, or, with a live hotseat opponent, a means for two or more newbs to decide if they like the game enough to invest in miniatures and painting.you very obviously see online play in fumbble and the newer videogames as a means to replace (not necessarily wholly, but implicitly in part) physical play, I see it (and suggest it) only as a training tool.
>>98441766In only one word? Yes.But (as I have said earlier) it is also the most flexible version of the game, you can use the optional addon rules from the blood bowl magazines, the 2016 spike journals, the 2016 death zone, and numerous other varied sources to expand the game and keep it fresh, there is more optional content compatible with the LRB than any other version of the game.
>>98441849That's good to know. I don't really want to use any additional content though. The reason for me to play with LRB6 is to keep everything contained within one book so I don't have to deal with the book-bloat. I simply want to grab one file, print a few copies for me and a few friends perhaps and be sure that the game I'm playing today will remain the same in a few years in the future.
>>98441872I have printed myself a copy of the LRB6 as well, getting one copy printed was about as expensive as buying a new GW book, though I went with single sided and it's formatted for double sided, in hindsight single sided was a mistake. I reccomend glossy test paper, it's the stuff most rulebooks and magazines are professionally printed on, I also suggest spiral bind, lets it lay flat when open to any page without breaking a spine and that also makes it more durable.I also am very much attracted to single book rules, it's why I also use the BMR for Battletech and Necrodamus for Necromunda.
Anyone compiled the leaked images together into something resembling a coherent read yet?
>>98442327No. Since they are all collected on websites, noone would do that. Just visit the websites.
So I bought and read Imperial Armour 8 and the snippets in there about air combat has given me a hankering to make a couple of little Aeronautica Imperialis forces (Orks and Imperials), how do you actually get into that game these days? For a start what are the best rules to use, I know that there was an older IA ruleset published by Forgeworld back in the day right? And what about models? I see that you can still get most of the Imperial vessels through the LI range but obviously no zenos, are there scans or recasts of them out there? What about decent third party offerings?
>>98443100Best ruleset is the Aeronautica Imperialis 2004 and Tactica Aeronautica both can be found easily from google.Unfortunately the old rule use dial base with more number for the attitude, so you will have to open the GW base, print out a piece of paper and glue it on the dial disc.If you aren't familiar with aviation and dogfight, it's not the kind of bombastic nonstop actions, but rather a game of cat and mouse, so a better aviation game need to simulated this, and the 2004 AI did this well. The modern AI version however, is the kind of bombastic nonstop action that tourists would expect, you will shoot nonstop, you will shoot every turn, Bombers gonna blow Jets out of the table. There was another aviation game from GW called Stormcloud attack, it was for 40k normal scale, so lots of the mini from AI are not in the game. It's a 1 v 1 dogfight game with all the planes having a unique profile on how they move, quite interesting considered that this is a one off low effort game, but somehow still got more effort put into it than the modern AI version.
>>98443134>so you will have to open the GW base, print out a piece of paper and glue it on the dial disc.Crude. I am sure that can be 3d printed or some or another miniature peripheral manufacturer makes a base with a spinner in it. Or just be cheap and lazy and put de disk round the fly stem, ontop of the base, with a red pointer indicating the number and the front of the base.
>>98440005Oldcromunda was even less balanced in gameplay than N17 but the rules were simpler and easier to learn. The lore was also much simpler than N17... except for the time travel shit.
>>98443169It's actually not that difficult, there're video of people pop it open online so you can watch it beforehand. Using D10 dice at substitutes also worked.
>>98443134That sounds good, I will look into the 2004 version
>>98443192I am an noob and not paying attention, it comes with the dial bases, OP even posted the pics. I thought something had to be scratchbuild/improvised because the original was oop.

The House gang bundles are a pretty good deal, especially from the "no deals" company. You'll almost never need more than 10 gang members now with the new mission/crew format. Most of the changes done for the sake of balance were wack, but that was a good one.
>>98443253Original
>>98443682Sorry, no. I like my 30 member Escher gang.
>>98443253NCE mostly, a few ORB purists. You can get everything from Yaktribe and see which you prefer.
>>98443134I bought the Avenger vs Tau box for AI and was surprised about how dumbed down it was compared to X-wing (Which had problems after expanding but at least had a solid set of core rules originally)
>>98443682The cover and ammo changes are just so stupid I can't believe it. Necromunda wasn't exactly drowning in dice rolls to need to get rid of ammo, and if they wanted to move away from high ballistic skills they should have made cover a flat ward/fnp save so you don't get the save stacking shenanigans of 9th and 10th edition 40k."Oh, I have a meltagun so my target having cover literally never matters unless they buy a reflec shroud" is insane.
>>98443926New ammo change solved the age old question "How did these guys got so many high end shit?" Turn out these high end guns are mostly just shoddy quality products prone to breakdown at any moment. And it leaves room for future rule like weapon quality. Also solve rapid fire 1 being straight upgrade over not having it, the risk is still low but it's there.
>>98441845BB2 doesn't even do the inducement rules for LRB6 right and fumbbl has 145

>>98444315>learning toolfumbbl is strictly multiplayer, it is a replacement. You think BB2 on pc is lacking? Try the PSP or Gameboy ports. They emulate nicely on a phone at least.
>>98444212Yeah, but then you've got weapons with rapid fire and ammo checks having the ammo value so high they're pratically nonfunctional, and this is Specialist Games so it'll be 2 years before they do a balance pass. Plasma gun has a less than 1 in 6 chance of being able to fire twice in a row, and is 25% more likely to run out of ammo for the rest of the game. Also there's tons of ways to get free reload actions but if you jam you're screwed because there's no way to reroll Ammo checks beforehand.
>>98444421the bb2 AI is pretty ass
Can someone explain why kill team is more complicated than 40k? Is it not meant to serve as a getway into 40k? What is GW thought process behind its design? Every single youtube video on kill team has comments calling out the creators for forgetting something in the rules, it's insane.
>>98444452>learning toolit is not a replacement.
>>98443100>>98443134Cool, Aeronautica!>>98443888Ah,I bought 2 boxes for AI for the eldar, and though they came with most rules (odd choice for GW), I don't know what "jink" is.A similar rule in 40K let you have an invuln', but i'd like to know for sure....Does anyone have the screenshot or a pic that shows that rule? Thanks!
>>98444507145 is a better learning tool than bb2s random ass retarded AI
>>98444531no, tge learning tool is the one you walk away from once you're competent enough to play. You already lost, anon chose the LRB6, cope and seethe.
>>98444438Plasma didn't have scarce so you can just reload it and fire again. Being one of the few D2 with rapid fire weapons in the game should have some hefty draw back. The jamming problem I don't see to be a huge deal in the long run since you can just buy...more plasma gun, these things are cheaper than before and you also earn more credit now.
>>98444527
>>98444566someone is not competent enough to play just by beating the shitty bb2 ai. you must suck
>>98444438I quite like the reload stuff in the new rules in theory, have to actually play with it to see of course. But having to take a turn to reload your heavy stubber after you go full auto feels pretty cinematic, and deciding on bringing something like a heavy bolter as an upgrade to that stubber gets more interesting when you know there’s more than a 50% chance it’ll jam if you max fire with it.

>>98435228If you're new to Necromunda I think it's worth getting if you like at least one of the gangs included. You can substitute the dice and tokens but it's annoying to do so - they're half the reason to get the box. But this box feels less complete than past Necromunda starters. This game wants a LOT of terrain and it barely gives you any. The mat isn't the recommended 3'x3'. You get 8 fighters for each gang when you'll want 10-11. It's more of a starter than a game box. Which is fine if you know that going in. Just find an old sprue for each gang or get a few resin characters. And maybe look outside of GW for terrain. If you can stand building terrain and know how to play non-competitively, it's a great game. Previous versions have been easy to break so it's not a good fit for some gaming groups.
>>98438898>OG Necromunda
>>98440005The game was relatively fiddly. What it did better was give you more XP and fewer credits. I think N18 had too much wargear and fancy weapons. It looks like there might a slightly lean away from that in the new rules, which would make me very happy.
>>98445626SOVL
>>98440005The biggest difference was that you took your whole turn, then your opponent took his whole turn. Now you alternate fighters and most people like that more.
>>98443253OG Necro is kinda busted. In a (mostly) fun way, and not as bad as Mordheim, but there are a whole bunch of little edge cases that can create runaway problems very quickly. Unlike most other SG systems, however, the revised version of Necromunda got a *lot* of pushback from the community. It didn't help that Necro was the last bastion of a bunch of the more-detailed and goofier rules left over from RT and 2e, so many of the people playing it were already deeply-dissatisfied with the changes between 2e and 3-4e 40k. SG's version was made to adapt 40k3 rules to the setting rather than actually updating the original ruleset. The close combat rule changes in particular pissed a lot of people off. Surprise surprise, making Arbites a playable gang rather than GM fodder did the same. Then there was dumping the legacy 2e templates (which dramatically overpowered hand flamers in general and Redemps specifically), ignoring minor gangs, and wedging in rules for a bunch of random models someone sculpted but GW couldn't find a use for in the main games. The general response SG had was to ignore the criticism, then wander off and do a huge series of supplemental articles for the Ash Wastes until GW gave them the axe. All of which may sound familiar, somehow. Which is all a way of saying that even in '03-'06 there was a huge split in the community and Necro has always been one of the most house-ruled GW games as a result.>but which one should I playWhich one will people play with you?CE is most popular with the inquisimunda crowd and anyone between 20 and 40, because it's the most hackable and cheapest.OG still has hangers-on. It's more complex and has some weird design decisions, but if you like playing RT or 2e 40k you will definitely enjoy it. The narrower scope and more powerful/varied weapons mean that even a stubber or a plasma rifle seem insanely dangerous, and it does feel more like a gang fightNew version is more balanced. Also has GW being GW at it.
>>98444498>Can someone explain why kill team is more complicated than 40k?I think that's just how competitive games have to be. Pandering to people who do nothing but play. The community will get bored and decide it's dead if there isn't constant new content. Any kind of exploit will get shared online so they have to FAQ or rebalance every week. >Is it not meant to serve as a getway into 40k? GW is run by normie non-gamers and their thinking is that they don't want figures used for multiple games since it makes it harder to gather sales data. Of course, from our POV as gamers it would make sense to try to get people to start small and build up from scratch with a Kill Team and then a Combat Patrol etc as the heart of a new army.
>>98446265>rule continues on other sideactually laughed out loud
>>98446265>The community will get bored and decide it's dead if there isn't constant new content.>this is just how competitive games playChess would like a word with you. This is how faux-competitive games play, these guys think they are competitive but if they have to work with a stable defined meta, they can only compete in a novel environment.
>>98446570Chess became a stable game that no IP or rightholder is attached to. It is in the public domain. But even now chess is much more a nerd and niche game that is only upheld by boomers who only learned chess and curiculum in schools. Even in Russia, the kids play playstation and CSGO than chess.
>>98447376Actually Chess is attached to FIDE and Chess.com, FIDE held the right to organize prestige chess tournaments, built up images of legendary GM player, while Chess.com connected those players and the game to the normies and host online platform for normie and pro to play chess, and ton of wacky variations of chess, puzzles, bot analyst, and bot version of famous players, so even the claim of no new contents is incorrect. Chess has seen a rise in popularity in recent years, but it died down for the past 1-2 years due to the poster boy Magnus Carlsen gave up his world champ title, entering dad arc, and kinda semi retire now.
>>98445633Thing to remember about the new game is that Reputation now gives you 10 credits of income per point. So by the time you've fought against 4 different gangs in a campaign you're earning 40 extra credits a cycle.Granted, territories now seem to give you 15 credits or a 30 credit dicount on a specific thing, so that 40 is only being added to an extra 65 base.
>>98435489How about not being lazy and just feed your cat once or twice a day?

>>98447432>Actually Chess is attached to FIDE and Chess.comWhich is not important, because i can sell chessboards without asking Fide. What you just mean is like Fifa for soccer.Besides it is still niche. Just like Starcraft is niche with a hardcore fanbase but overall that game is dead.Chess is only alive because of the tournaments with the absurd price money and the Netflix show Queens Gambit. Which is compareable with new stuff coming out. Without Netflix it would be even more dead.
>>98448021How much you want to bet they still charge 40 to 50 bucks for something that's only 32 pages?
>>98448021>Going back to the Gang War books from 2018 and 2019.>Somehow this is a new format.
>>98448165They charged you 165 for that shitty starter box even though they got the champ kits already made. They would charge you 100$ if they could.
>>98448165If it's the same price as the TOW/HH/MESBG/LI books, then it's $34 in Canada or $29 in the US
>>98448169This shit is worse than codex or gang wars book,
>>98447376>>98447432Chess predates internet and IP, morons. It's been a skill based competitive for centuries.

>>98448121>>98448110What gets me is the stuff they cut out from the old gang books that everyone will need to buy the book for is 4 pages. There are 7 gangs in Gangs of the Underhive besides Venator.4x7 is 28 pages.Gangs of the Underhive is 30 pages shorter than the Necromunda Core Rulebook despite being the same price. They deliberately sold an incomplete product because they didn't think these journals would be enough of a value add without leaving people hungry.
>>98448021Wow just what I wanted from Necromunda were detachments for my gangs so that I can have more specialists.

>>98448244It'll probably make things harder to track, plus it's kind of lame they're putting out some tiny 40 page book on top of the big index book they've just released. Not sure why people seem to be readily eating this up, it just doesn't look that great to me.
>>98448244I started to write down my meme game because I got tired of the recent bullshit in wargames.Even random games like the xcom game or doom 1490 are doing this stupid shit.
>>98448256>Not sure why people seem to be readily eating this upare they?
>>98448263Maybe? A lot of comments I've read around the Internet have people reacting positively to a bunch of junk like specialists/starting skills for gangers as well as just opening up the entire trading post for every model. The index having like two-three pages per gang is fucking tragic after getting a huge ass book for the previous edition. Tons of rules getting streamlined for an audience that doesn't care for it. Just seems lacking to me.To me it feels like the game's being crammed into a box like if they were to take Call of Cthulhu and remake it into Mansions of Madness while claiming it's the same thing.
>>98448276>Call of Cthulhu and remake it into Mansions of MadnessI'm not sure what you are referencing here. Are you talking about the boardgames? And the change they underwent from interesting idea to slop?
>>98448302Call of Cthulhu is a TTRPG like D&D to put it very loosely whereas Mansions of Madness is a board game. I guess if anything, you could liken it to earlier editions of 40k versus more current editions.
>>98448276They'll be btfo by book bloats just like previous edition.
>>98448307Totally forgot that Call of Cthulhu was a rpg. Was confusing it with Arkham Horror and thinking Mansion of Madness was a worst version of Arkham.
>>98448327It might've been Arkham Horror, I know it's that style of board game where you build out the area as you play, it's been too long.Anyway, that's how the upcoming edition looks to me, kinda sucks.
>>98448256>>98448276GW pays shills.
>>98448337They do it for free.
>>98448341There definitely are some cultists who do, but GW pays people to post all over, even here.
>>98448341Someone has to bought that to share it.
>>98448350My entire experience in recent years (as in the last decade ish) is that GW products feel like something is wearing the skin of a friend and everyone is pretending like it is not the case and now it is better.
>>98448337To me it seems unremarkably lackluster, like you just have glorified unboxing videos while people rattle off the same points that try to make the game look good but it's not really in the spirit of Necromunda, at least to me.
I like Kill Team best since the shop we play at is too small for regular warhammer.
>>98448362A good analogy>>98448388Yes, at least the free cultists try to make arguments, though they are founded in self-inflicted delusions.
GW is absolute joke at this point. "Consolidating the rules into two books" and then they immediately start releasing splatbooks for each separate gang.
>>98448581The honest hype people are simply the ones that never wanted to play X game in the first hand and just wanted to be a part of something. Its not like Necromunda was this super expensive game that needed Necromunda™ models. If you really wanted to play it you could use other models, there was never a barrier to enter. How do I know? Well because in my third world country we used to make our models out of carboard and eventually get the proper models. Rules where some old photocopy from someone that found a 40k rulebook in some library and photocopy the shit out of it.So needing simpler rules to play is just bizarre, because that is admitting you never want to play. Its not like rules changed for the better like from 3rd to 4th that the last one was mostly a compilation of all the fixes that 3rd had.In other words current "wargames" are not made for people that want to play wargames but for people so empty inside that need to be part of something and sadly they chose wargames to be that something.
>>98448654It's just corpotalk, selling more products was always the plan and cutting down your work to sell 2 products at 60% of the price each is better than 1 at 100%.
>>98448654You're surprised? This is how they've operated for decades.
it's crazy that they'll basically "consolidate" all the unique gang rules into one paragraph/sentence rules for each factionand then sell back those rules in slop journals
>>98448258X-com's issue is no starter set so the only way to get everything is to pay full retail for the book (Which is a rewrite of 5PH) and all the minies. The image going around includes the custom dice and tokens which are particularly overpriced for what you get.Doom 1490 is just bonkers and I don't get why influencers on my youtube feed are pushing it when its just trench crusade models on a vertical building.
>>98448335Arkham Horror and Mansions of Madness are both boardgames. Of the two, MoM is more RPG like but requires a phone app to run the scenario as it has all the event lore. There is of course a 3rd party app people created to sideload custom scenarios.Arkham Horror you basically run around a board closing gates to other worlds and it mostly plays like a clunky cross between Talisman and Pandemic.
>>98448362He's a chicken I tell ya, A GIANT CHICKEN!
>>98448258They’re all just copying pappy GW bc its the successful business model. Which isn’t good, but it is what it is.I think the prebuilt warband is an attempted solution for the entry barrier problem wargames have. More or less trying to have as little thought required in order to play the game, all because AoSers ate up Spearhead, which is basically just that. Though I never really thought listbuilding was the problem, but I think thats their mindset.
>>98448802>only way to get everything is to pay full retail for the bookI was mostly given example of random bullshit in modern wargames. xcom caught flak for this thing.Modern wargames are not selling you a wargame but trying to be this social media thing. Like we all are the Doom 1490 community! Look how quirky and dark we are!Oddly enough the quirky game of quar plays more like a wargame, but for some reason it feels its popularity is artificial.
>>98448835>thought listbuilding was the problemIt can be when it seems the population is getting more retarded.I mean when I was little, we used to play wargames using an English to Spanish dictionary and still figure out how to make build an army and play the game. This shit has never been super complex that needs this level of shrimplefication

All that stuff including the activation marker is just to help keep track of the game's mechanics. You can easily and my group ended up resorting to just having people make a deck/list of what tactics cards they want to use across the range of house specific and generic tactics cards and wrote them on a piece of paper and used RNGs to select them. TLDR: theyre fancy shit for rich people so get it if you want but theyre not 'needed' as such.
>>98448835Reminds me of the Cataclysm era of WoW where they'd do exit surveys of players who quit right away and they'd say "Game is too complicated" and use that as a reason to dumb the game down, when really the players were all girlfriends who'd got roped into playing and would find anything more complex than Candy Crush too complicated.
I heard you cant shoot pistols in close combat anymore?if so my GSC guy is fucked...
>>98451823They're melee weapons as usual but somehow they're servo arms now where you only ever get one attack with them period. So no rapid fire die in melee (Which makes autopistols garbage) and if you only have a pistol you lose the additional attacks on your profile.Any GSC with Extra Arm gets a free claw weapon though.
>>98449807No. That's the result of an actually well designed game that doesnt have anything unnecessary bloating it.Chess is a far, far more engaging game than any GW sloppa which are usually shallow as a puddle but just packed full of worthless rules bloat.
Anyone got the PDFs?
I'm new to modern Necromunda (played 20 years ago) and am trying to figure out what Escher sprues exist before I buy anything. Excluding FW resin releases, I'm seeing:- 2017 gang sprue (5 fighters w/ queen option)- Death-maidens + Wyld Runners (1 death maiden, 3 fighters, 2 cats)- 2026 starter box sprue (4 fighters)- upcoming matriarchs+phyrr cats (3 champions/queen, 1 cat)- one upgrade sprue with weapons, heads, and hairThey're always sold as two identical sprues in a box.The Escher Underhive Crew box seems to come with 2x 2017 gang sprues, 2x Death-maidens + Wyld Runner sprues, and 2x upgrade sprues. If I get the new starter box then the Underhive Crew box feels like overkill. Maybe I'll go with the starter box + Matriarchs? Or starter + one 2017 sprue off eBay. How many fighters do you think you need in a campaign?
>>98451888>Any GSC with Extra Arm gets a free claw weapon though. The arm is a 20 credit upgrade on all but one guy, so hardly "free." The GSC champion also gets ripped off on its profile and loses an Attack for no reason compared to other champions.>>98452466The one kit you missed is their jetbikes. The new bundles of the older kits are the best deal for a new player. The have a solid discount and they provide a lot of weapon choice. I can tell you want the new shinies though, lol.In the new N26 mission system you never need more than 11 fighters for a single game (but you can hire a couple of extra bodies to fill in for injuries and help with post game actions).
>>98452466It depends how big you want to go. You could focus on a few champions with very few gangers, or go wide and have a horde of cheapish gangers to buffet any losses in a campaign. The game seems to give more money and the large expansion boxes makes it seem like they want to have people have larger gangs along with the increased rate of credits. I had 30 in my chaos helot gang and that was going wide with near poverty credit rates. You could always keep the extra escher sprues for conversions for female bodies for venator custom gangs.
>>98452671>I can tell you want the new shinies though, lol.I do like the Matriarchs that they showed off. But after that, I like the 2017 sprue the most. When it comes to weapons, if N95 experience still counts for anything I'm going to want more autoguns and knives. More credits spent on fighters rather than gear. I'm not seeing a lot of basic weapons in the pictures they're showing off.
>>98452671Considering Extra Arm is the only real version of Suspensors in the edition, 20 credits is a bargain.
>>98448835>They’re all just copying pappy GW bc its the successful business model. Which isn’t good, but it is what it is.Which is funny becsuse steps 1 and 2 of GWs business model are "make your own product" and "own your own IP".
Are the new Escher and Goliath kits compatible with the old upgrade sprues
>>98435264I like that an attempt at balancing out skills has been made>>98448654I prefer this approach of modular rules. If you match does not have any Van Saar, guild alliances, or vehicles, I don't want my books to include any Van Saar, alliances, or vehicle rules.
>>98452466The base escher gang is the only place you can get Lasgun, and lots of laspistol, which are the good filler weapons in any edition. The starter set escher is complete garbage in term of weapon choice, retarded sculptors didn't even used Escher's unique duelist style autopistols for the new kits, instead he used the most basic pattern of the autopistol, the only reason you want these new escher is that they have more natural poses.Underhive crew + matriarch is da way. After that you had a choice between new starter Escher (once it got separated release, or you split buy it) or Death Maiden. Mainly because both of these kits gave you a lot of Needle Pistol. (but you already got 1x2 from the upgrade in Underhive crew box). So if you want to spam Needle pistols get these kits. Personally I hate all needle weapons because these pricks look ugly and it bend from a single drop.
>>98453478The problem is the next time you fight someone with Van Saar, you need to remember which book has the Van Saar, and then dig through 30 pages of the writer's OC shitting up the lore before you get to the rules.
>>98453329Escher : mostly, hand sizes are all over the place.Goliath : no, but you can just cut the hands and fit them onto new arms.
>>98453555>The base escher gang is the only place you can get Lasgun, and lots of laspistol, which are the good filler weapons in any edition.Something of a digression from what you were saying, but I also personally really like the Escher lasgun pattern from a design perspective, so getting lots of them in a box is good. It's sleek and practical. The handguard makes it ideal for use in close combat, the barrel is long for good accuracy at range, you can see where you'd affix bayonet. Probably the coolest lasgun design in the setting. I'd run an IG army equipped with these if the sprues existed.
>>98453165Well, no, steps 1 and 2 of GW's business model are "steal other people's ideas and assert ownership over the resulting pastiche" and "establish a giant legal bullying department".
>>98453716Not really. They don't make money from stealing ideas, they make money by selling models they make.
>>98452295I didn't say anything negative about Chess, did I? I merely described it's complexity accurately.
In case you didn't know they already done the Goliath champs and probably the journal too.
>>98453828Wonder what SDS plan is for releasing all these journals.Once a quarter or quicker?
>>98453852I hope at least 2 a quarter. Otherwise we’ll be waiting forever for anything new and interesting.
>>98453852At a rate which coincides with the accumulation of sufficient disposable income of their median consumer.
>>98452466I feel like going all in on a specialist game tends to jinx me and all the other players will ghost. The best way to start Necromunda is with a single box and then adding more stuff as the campaign progresses.
>>98453852If it's at a HH or ToW rate then pretty slow. 1 per quarter, which would suck. I sort of expect them to drop them in pairs for necromunda a few weeks apart though.
>>98453620>Probably the coolest lasgun design in the setting. I'd run an IG army equipped with these if the sprues existed.I still dig the old Escher "AK" lasgun more (top right in pic related). That mini was one of my deadliest gangers for half a dozen campaigns. Basic-ass lasgun, backup hotshot laspistol as soon as I could afford a pack, a bayonet, flugs to keep from getting gassed out, and a spotter with a shotty packing frag and bolts. Only time she ever got beat out was when I started with a leader packing a meltagun on a whim and we had to restart the whole campaign because the leader greased three of the other four leaders in the opening "King of the Hill" scenario we ran.Anyway, gonna post some pics of possible weapons in additional posts.
>>98448090>Still missing plasma cannon and Grenade Launcher.>>98453620>I want this kind of rifleshttps://madrobotminiatures.comHas some decent gear, including pic related. You'll have to find stocks but it's pretty close. GLs are relatively easy, almost any third-party will have themhttps://anvilindustry.co.uk/fusion-cannons-rifle-stock-6https://anvilindustry.co.uk/heavy-fusion-cannon-with-male-regiments-armshttps://anvilindustry.co.uk/phase-carbinesPlasma cannon that's relatively easy to cut down, an assortment of rifles with the same stock profile. They also have bionics and a bunch of other useful stuff. Problem is they're UK-based and creeping up on GW prices, so these day's it's hard for me to justify snagging anything. >>98453742They use the stolen ideas to make the models resonant enough that people want to buy them, obviously.
>>98453742their models wouldn't be worth shit without good ideas stolen from other sources, their models are sculpted to look like troons
>>98451441You really don't need them considering that with Gang tactics you start with one or two and have to add more with post-cycle actions.
>>98454603The annoying thing about Anvil is they sell 3d prints, but everything you'd REALLY want they keep in-house.
I'm just not going to switch over to the nununecro.Simple as.
>>98454693I’m willing to give it a shot, but will fully go back if I don’t like it.Only rule that makes me turn my nose is the new save mechanic, but every other change has more or less been for something I had a problem with.
>>98454822>I’m willing to give it a shotSo... you're new to GW.
>>98454896Nope, been playing various GW games for close to two decades. I overall enjoyed N17, despite how messy it got, so we’ll have to see about this new edition. Worst case I have nine years of content for a game I like to fall back on.
Have they kept the badzones terrain rules for the new edition. I think they actually made the game fun as half your gang got fucked up before even meeting the other one.
>>98454909Nah, if you've really been dealing with GW bullshit for 20 years and you're still retarded enough to move on to the new thing when they say so, then you're a clueless consumer cultist. You don;t have anything to fall back on, either you put your foot down now or your only fallback option will be to stop playing, because everyone you play with is going to move on and they won't fall back with you.Bring the issue to an ultimatum now, or pack up your minis. But let's be real, you'll do neither, you will move on and stay moved on even if you come back every week to bitch about it, "i have 9 years of content to fall back on" is cope, you're lying to yourself.
>>98454986holy projecting batman, you dont need to reflect your bad playgroup into others
>>98448760These are really so uneven. Almost all of them are basically nothing.jpg but there are a couple that are really nice like the Nomads.
About to sign up for super league. Do I put my singular Guard on a troll, an orc blitzer or an orc lino?I feel like with 2 guards the troll is good for bullying but with 1 guard it feels shitty to risk your guard on a very stupid loner who can easily get isolated. It's a somewhat difficult choice between the blitzer and the lino. I usually go with the blitzer because he's got MA 6, break tackle and the lino is harder to protect when you set up your defense. But if it's on the lino then you don't need to worry about your blitzer getting hit and you can still use either blitzer in conjunction with the guard
>>98455059Oh yes your playgroup always does what you want to do, of course.Keep coping.
>>98451410It's worse than that, gangs all have nearly the same profiles now except Van Saar have 1 less M" and Initiative and are now cheaper than Cawdor. And everyone built their old gangers with plasma guns, plasma pistols, and melta, which they get zero bonuses with. And the one good thing about VS are cheap energy shields. They gave Van Saar a rule explicitly designed to sell the Tek Hunters kit no one liked.Meanwhile Squats went from having extra rapid fire on everything to Van Saar's old ammo reliability niche. But literally have no reason for their special rule when they're going to be nowhere near each other because they're a ranged gang and the only way to cover the board is to spread out.
There is a transcribed pdf of the Necromunda rulebook floating around now. Just a convenient compilation of the rules content, not an actual rip of the physical rulebookgofile dot io/d/yYZ0hb
>>98435144I want to do a learning game of Epic at my LGS. I've never played it before but I built a few armies for the fun of it. I think when I started that project years ago I was copying a Frenchman's Krieg army, and I gather that the army list for the F-ERC community is different than the one for NetEpic Armageddon etc. Same for the Tau army I built that I want to have opposite the Kriegers. Is there a "most widely accepted" ruleset? Part of why I'm asking is that the points values and units are different between the army lists, and that means that if I don't do F-ERC across the board, I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to run the Riptides and Stormsurges I have as part of the Tau list. There's a NetEA list for them that runs those suits, but then I can't run Hammerheads with them. tl;dr, does it matter if I use F-ERC lists vs NetEA lists, and is there a widely accepted beginner ruleset to introduce to my LGS?
Building outcast gang with new rules. What are some good option to pair with a power fist for my leader?
>>98454603That's not the point, GW made those missing weapons years ago in resin, and everyone understand that due to budget constrain and sculptor being complete noob, they can't have everything in plastic. But that was years ago, now we're on 4th, 5th, and maybe 6th and somehow we're still being bombarded with repeated weapons instead of the missing one.
anyone have pics saved from the gangs of the underhive book leaks? I wanted to get a head start on trying to build out my starting gang, but the place I found them had them all taken down
>>98455183I'm not an orc expert but I'd put it on a blitzer. He can reposition himself more easily and block keeps him on his feet more often, thus keeping the guard up. I can understand the logic on giving it to lino to spread the value as a form of risk management, but eh. It comes with too much baggage.
>>98454986Holy secondary.
>>98435144Are these newer sculpts meant to be specialists for Goliath and Escher? They seem to have a peculiar mix of weapons.
>>98456088It's always frustrating when GW does new weapon sprues and instead of something like a bolter they do "hand pointing" or "combat maul for a hand that already has a combat maul"
>>98457874>They seem to have a peculiar mix of weaponsThey are specialists, weapon options are shit because designers don't play the fucking game. Expect stubgun, autogun, autopistol and more knives when Orlock specialist come, because we all want more of that.
>>98458214Necromunda is a game for the hobbyist, convert your own and stop being lazy
>>98458262Yes, expecting GW to be competent is lazy now. I probably owned more weapon bits than you.
>>98458271If you want all your options in the box play 40k, and yes expecting GW to supply you with every option in the game for every ganger in the game is lazy and a ridiculous ask.You can have either ready-made parts or a super broad range of options, not both
>>98458308>is lazy and a ridiculous askThis is how you got instantly exposed as a newfag. They've been running Necromunda for NINE YEARS nigga, they made 4 and 5 kits for each gangs. yes expecting the bare minimum of what in a gang list for almost a decade is ridiculous ask, gtfo.
>>98456021Tournaments are the only place where you’re expected to stick to one list of army lists (NetEA, EpicUK, or FERC). Outside of that, mix and match, imo. Unfortunately, Epic Armageddon is in a tough spot now that Legiones Imperialis exists. But if anyone else is willing to play, great. It’s still the best edition.
>>98448388Hitler knows! I had that with Blood Bowl third season. Streamlining the rules so you can play with one box and other rules changes and updates are a thing that happens and can be ignored in a friends player group, but all those yt shills going 'this is the best bb box ever!!!'... Really now? The second season box had star players, big guys, revs m, for less money than the new box, so who are they trying to convince.
>>98458322>no we NEED 10+ versions of the same basic weapons to cover every gangNo we do not, it is extremely easy to swap single handed weapons and most 2 handers can be done with a little workAnd what about the trading post? You just gonna stick with your house list the entire campaign? Or are you gonna demand a puzzlebox and kroot longrifle with 10+ different hands attached to it too?
>>98458460>no we NEED 10+ versions of the same basic weapons to cover every gangAre you actually retarded now? Have you ever touch any Necromunda kit? Maybe check the contents before posting?
>>98454986You sound upset, try smiling instead! Its not that big of a deal!
>>98458474Mostly goliath, delaque and escher yes, and enough of them to know I don't need a 35+ part sprue for every single gang to be able to equip what I want. In fact, the sprue should have FEWER options, just to punish low effort hobbylets who cant be arsed cutting a plasma pistol off a spacemarine.
>>98458676Ok, show me your highest effort mini.
>>98458676>needing to buy space marines to play the no space marines gameI'm onto you James Workshammer.
>>98458322More like being exposed as an utter fag
>>98458676Or punish morons with crippling autism like me, who cannot stand the look of bulky space marine guns on 'munda minis
>>98458970Which guns are you looking for?
>>98458700Keeping it house-list related, id say missile launcher Forge tyrant was probably the most annoying to get the launcher to sit how I wanted, took way more messing about than converting a 2-handed grenade launcher
>>98458970If only there were a dozen different sources of plasma guns.
>>98458998Name 15.
>>98458990That's a nice paint job, you can also just mount it underhand.
>>98458970Mixing bitz from diverent GW model lines is absolutely haram, anon. A 40k weapon cannot not into Necromunda.
>>98458970Nah thats valid lad, but this can be solved by cadians and kriegers. In fact, Ive come up with a solution to suit EVERYONE.>Necromunda Weapon pack - Bigfor your Goliaths, Orlocks and you manly mans and>Necromunda Weapon pack - Dietfor your Eschers, Delaques and other waifish types>>98459004That could work, I just really wanted that pose so acquired the parts especially for it
>>98459011The Omnissiah forbids any alteration of the STC sprues.
Combi can attack with both profile at a -1 to hit in nu-numunda, So do i get 4 shots with the Goliath dual wield Stub/plasma pistol now lol. This is gold.
>>98458990It's tough to do red/green without look corpo-christmas but you've pulled it off, the goliath is very nicely done aside from the colour choice as well, but that launcher is sexy, excellent olive drab, top-notch chipping, decal use here is great and I hate decals.
>>98458389How did that restriction on positional to what's in the box work out by the way? Seeing that shit kind of killed all interest I had in BB and I havent really looked into it since.
maybe I should collect goliaththeir increased size just makes me think they're more compatible with a wider range of parts to kitbash and convert(e.g say I wanted to use a marine boltgun as a base for a conversion, it'd look right on a goliath but oversized for everyone else)can any goliath players share insight on this?
>>98460062Goliath using Ork and Space Marine bits has always been the go-to because their kits are genuine garbage unless you only use the good options which meant spam. They also lacks close combat weapons despite being more favorable close combat gang, they don't even have chainsword in their kit, despite it was in the resin set.But anyway, Chainsword no longer in Goliath kit because no kit = no rule. You can still buy it from TP but it's not particularly good enough to spend your TP anyway. There're variety of Space Marine bits, The Horus heresy marine hand are quite smaller than the first born, and the primaris hand are biggest.
>>98460102do we know the full gang rules from the gang book? or are you just going off of the options given to the gang in the core set?(speaking of, I hate the look of the fat guy with the hook hands in the new kit, I know the alt build is the axe guy so I hope theres more options than those two)
>>98460145They will get new weapon list once their journal drop, like the 2 heads chain axe thingy, and maybe chainsword if their champ kits has it, and that's it.>Oh no chainsword are plenty from SM and OrkYeah but Goliath has their machete shape chainsword, it's literally one of the most iconic necromunda weapon, being featured on the box art of Oldmunda.
>>98460145>>98460186Also just notice this list is missing the crucible hooks and forge axe from the new specialists, hopefully the Journal will have the actual FULL list, because cross reference 3 books gotta be a bitch.
I love the pricing on the new weapons, especially flamers which last edition were somehow broken and overpriced at the same time
>>98460212The trading post is for brokies. My guess is that most of the weapons will be bought from the house lists
Hey anons, could someone please give me a read order for the new Necromunda lore? Am I missing any of the books? I know some are numbered but I don't know what to read first.
>>98460245Aranthian's sucession are in order of : Cinderak Burning > Vault > Ruins> SpireThe rest are whatev.
>>98460062Unless they're stealing from SoB the marine size bolter IS the bolter they'd have.
>>98460245You'd go from the core books (NMUH) through the scenario and house books (NM 1- 14) then NMAN 1- 16, NMTAS 1-4 and finish with spire of primus. there could be some back and forth jumping with NMAN, so you could skip it entirely or read them after NMTAS. the ash wastes is kinda its own thing but play into the larger picture of JUST necromunda, but what's going on in necromunda is obviously more "important" as it will lead into the new edition and where everyone stands

>>98460223Cawdor got fucked, blaze is finally cancer free but they don't get cheap flamer anymore. Pole weapons are borderline meme and Eviscerator no longer came with a flamer, but an exterminator, and it's not included, but it's cheaper at least.
>>98460186It's funny how the telescopic sight is the best thing to put on a grenade launcher.
>>98460186You definitely just put a meltagun on a gunner specialist at the start of the campaign right

>>98460589Snore
>>98459902Humans and Orcs are way better and honestly more fun than they were in previous editions. Orcs are fucking great you get 3 mb and your blitzers are basically elves. Rats and Undead are less fun to play but are still incredibly good in progression. They're still above 50% in winrate on fumbbl, I think undead is a little below 50% in NAF, but that's due to the rules packs overrating them. None of the elf teams notice or care, not even dark elves since the blitzers got better and most players didn't take 4 catchers and 3 blitzers 2 witch elves was a normal dark elf build. and I think nurgle and khorne were the other 2 that lost positional. Nurgle got buffed so they don't really notice or care, they're just kind of fucked with 2 ball carriers but the warriors have stand firm so the whole team's too good to the point of being annoying. Khorne were expensive as shit anyway So the only teams that really got fucked were Undead and Rats (but rats are still rats) and that's mostly just because they are less fun so people play like orcs or necro and underworld. dorfs, but they didn't change positionals and to a much lesser extent amazons due to more teams having tackle and tackle mb at low tv
>>98459902I would not know because we still play second season + the deathzone book. I have seen the third season as new in open box for as low as €75,- shipped, that is with it for the teams, dice and an extra pitch but we dont really feel the need for a rules update perse. >>98460668Poor wording from me, the positionals are now restricted to what is in the box.
>>98460838unless you play undead, skaven or dorfs the 3rd season teams are more fun because break tackle is based now. the stalling rule is gay but outside of that I feel like the game plays more open and "fast"
>>98460589Why do you need a new one? Just get a shitload of Rohirrim on ebay for pennies.
>>98460834What about gobbos?
>>98460186YES YES YESWhy did nobody told me we had scans? That brief rule leaking window between the time where the book goes out to the chosen few, and the time where it goes up to the rest of the plebs is lowk une of the best times to be in /tg/Do y'all remember the rules drop massacre of Horus Heresy 3.0 and the 2.0 release?
>>98461352>une of the best times to be in /tg/Yea, but then the people who post leaks are called fags for not posting every single page at once, and get driven away by the horde of retards
>>98456088Man, these old resin kits were ass
>>98460062Goliath seem to match up decently with Ork bits. Space Marines weapons would likely work as well, though I haven't done it personally. Pic related is one of my Goliaths with some kind of ork gun to use as a heavy stubber. That said, I like when heavy weapons look too big for the model wielding them; a Lascannon intended to be mounted on a tripod and used by a heavy weapons team being toted around in a wheelbarrow by a scrawny Cawdor is pure money.
>>98461332buffed. sneaky git is worse and more teams have tackle, but you can get dirty player on singles. the ooligan starts with dirty player for 20k and like 2 other skills FOR FREE and doom divers can stunty dodge and get a +1 to landing. you roll regen before apos, trolls lost loner and ottds are just easier now, especially with the doom diver
>>98461352Jesus christ, you sound about 100 years oldNot only are those photos and not scans, they leaked about 4 or 5 days ago. On REDDIT/tg is still a dying sewer. Like your mind.

>>98462132>cawdors rules completely gutted >orlocks seem to be hit the hardest with the changes First read just tells me that it's play Escher or Goliath, or go home. Disappointed so far, I might just stick to N17
>>98457763alright, so here's my thought processin res I think guard on the blitzer makes more sense due to both the increased mobility with +1 ma and break tackle. Plus it's just hard to protect that many players, orcs have 4 positionals plus a thrower and possibly a gobbo to protect. I know that in progression everybody always fucking blitzes and fouls my guard lino and he's like the most likely player to get KO'd. I absolutely have a problem, in general, about protecting players from hits. I leave my blitzers too exposed basically all of the time and will expose my thrower on defense if I think I can get the ball. Also I generally just blitz with the BuBs because like why wouldn't you they don't need assists and have MB. I only blitzer blitz if I need to dodge or need tackle or something. That said, I think I'll lino guard just to practice for progression. This progression season I took guard on one of the blitzers and it took forever for him to get a second skill and the other took MB tackle and then took a while to get a stat. guard is a single on the linos so I can put the linos and troll in for MVPs when they get 1 cas or a TV, I'll go block, guard, stat on the Big Uns and then MB stat on one blitzer (mighty blow just delays the stat by 8 spp but you get 3 spp per cas) and like either mb tackle stat or tackle mb stat on the other blitzer.imo I don't think I want to go full retard and not take a thrower like some coaches do because leader on a team that gets free rerolls is nice as fuck. every reroll on a humans or orc team is worth 1.2 rerolls due to the team captain mechanic. So a team with 3 rerolls would expect to have 7.2 rerolls over a whole game. A team with 3 rerolls and a leader would expect to have 9.6 rerolls over the course of a game.
>>98463262I think the new blaze is actually pretty good even though it’s obviously not as game-skewing as the old version.
