>>98442368In canon some spells last an entire day if you use all your mind reserves in one go. Sure there are spells that require constant mental effort to maintain, but there are also spells that seemingly just continue to run, once cast. With the Spirit development ability your mind reserves shouldn’t really be at risk of depleting to hard zero. With Metamagic and Minion you should be able to have minions/bodyguards at Tier 1 scale surrounding you at all times due to the low mind investment.

In all the world is there anything worse than being a single point over budget on a build?
>>98445436it really is like getting a paper cut on your tongue. trivial, but frustrating
>>98445311Question regarding complications and perks, can you take a complication and remove it with a mission and take a perk that would have been incompatible with it?
>>98445436Nobody cares if youre one point over bro.
>>98445469Sounds a little on the munchkin side to me but I guess it depends what exactly youre trying to meld together
>>98445535I do. Learn to budget.
>>98445535Nta but it depends on the cyoa I guess. The value of 1 point is very different between cyoas. 1 point is worth a lot less in SC than it is in something like Marak piece or UQ.
>>98445983It doesn't depend. If you're playing single player, then you're completely defeating the point of playing a cyoa. If you're playing multiplayer, then you're breaking the social contract of the MP like a scumbag.
>>98445960>>98445535>>98445983Rest easy, I was able to figure it out.
There was a character in MHA.Hifumi I think his name was. He took the shittiest possible form of teleportation and wasted like half his points on nerfing his own power. It didn't matter that objectively all of the other builds could turn him into a fine rest mist. He held his owns in fights because that was the narrative. No matter how powerful or shitty your build is, you're going to lose or beat anyone if the narrative demands it. What matters is if you created an interesting character.
>>98446050Not relevant to anything being said.
>>98446076I could have been clearer. The point is that obsessing over 1 or 2 points isn't going to matter because it's missing the point of the mp. Minmaxing can make sense in singleplayer but in multiplayer all that really matter is you fit into the story.
>>98446099NTA but feels like that’s just another version of ignoring parts of a build we don’t like. I’d agree with you otherwise, but I still don’t think number fudging is something that should be done since we’re using the CYOA as our basis to keep characters in line with eachother.
Im writing a character who is very old, ancient by human standards. I am looking to interweave another character or two into his story either as a longtime friend or even an old padawan who is now a master in their own right. Or even an rival within the Jedi who dislikes him for some reason or another. Is anyone working on a character who might be interested?
>>98446261I don't think I have another star wars build in me.
>>98443330>Sure there are spells that require constant mental effort to maintain, but there are also spells that seemingly just continue to run, once cast. pretty sure that’s not correct
>>98448553Don’t respond to it you stupid retard, that is like poking a diseased critter
Can we just have some anons please?
>>98448720They all left when we decided to shitpost everything to death.
I remember there being like 6 different things being worked on for jrpg. A bunch of things for spirit conscript too. Yet it's been total radio silence on both of them.
>>98448816We probably just need OC at this point to bring people back and keep their interest. Reruns aren't cutting it atm, unfortunately.
>>98448816I mean, what is there to do? You can do stuff but if no one cares, then why bother. It’s kind of clear that people are more interested in trying to drag others down instead of doing anything, and I’m sure people have better things to do than get chewed out simply for trying to participate in a CYOA. Though I can’t speak for everyone, I can say that’s what influenced me to stop giving a shit. There’s more people here that don’t do anything than the ones that do, which sort of kills the whole collaborative storytelling thing.
>>98448553Hedin’s targeted enchant/buff, if he’s at full capacity and uses all of his mental energy in one go, can last an entire day.
>>98445311My first thought is a self proclaimed jedi lord who sees no future with the republic and leads an expedition into the unknown regions where only the force can guide ships through hyperspace.
>>98446261Got any more info on our character? Maybe it'll give me some idea for a padawan.
>>98449233That's just single player though if you're just dipping out to nowhere land.
>>98448860>Reruns aren't cutting it atm, unfortunately.Wrong, the problem is what's being rerunI'll be there for any new fate/worm/facility/memento mori/WDW/real FHV runs
>>98449950I'd make a build for some of those, but most of your list was stillborn even when this place was more active.
>>98449950>facility, memento mori, wdw, fhvNo.>FateMaybe, if we have a good idea this time around.>WormOnly if we use a new CYOA, I am tired of the one we use, and we've pretty much used all the power combinations in there.
>>98449852Okay well lets just figure out what can be done in this setting.>Jedi order exploring new worldsThis means the archives are incomplete and the republic isn't all inclusive, so numerous backwater planets in the outer rim could contain life or settlements that have gone unnoticed. Possible ruins to explore>Hyperspace disasterThis creates widespread chaos for republic systems that became dependent on trade. It also creates potential choke points as many hyperspace routes are now unusable. Republic supply lines are cut off. This could spark an era of warlords.>Republic military expansion under an authoritarian rulerAn expanding military right as supplies become scarce is exactly how you create massive vulnerabilities. The republic is a powder keg ready to explode, especially with the public uproar at this new ruler.>Kaminoans selling armies to the highest bidderRight, so the mid rim is fucked. The core worlds probably have enough productive capacity to defend themselves but that's it.So overall you've got a few options>try to hold the republic together>carve out a piece of space for yourself>investigate the hyperspace disaster>if you're jedi, fight the sith>if you're sith, fight the jedi>go full greed and exploit the disaster to enrich yourself
>>98450099>Only if we use a new CYOASo one of the interactives? Cuz all of the image ones I'm finding are ass
>>98450104I like option 3 personally. You get the potential for a lot of "this is the lawfully elected ruler with lawful senatorial support, but they're performing actions I as a jedi find difficult to tolerate, and this has put Jedi at odds with one another". Gives a nice way to have good vs good conflicts in addition to the usual Sith things. Plus gives a lot of things to do for anons who might want to play diplomancers rather than sword guys.
>>98450125Interactives kinda stuck for our purposes because often we need to quickly check some specific option when reading a build and they tend to hide stuff until you click through them.
>>98450399They also have a tendency to include options like "you also have the powers of goku" and "you can fully control your orgasms" randomly
The age of Struckvno is upon us…
>>98450576Idk what that is
>>98445311I've got an idea.An extremely rare sub-species of humans made thousands of years ago called the Olympians. They were genetically engineered to be perfect so that they may rule the stars. For hundreds of years they dominated, expanding rapidly and colonizing new worlds. However, their advantages came at a steep cost. Predisposition towards ambition and expansion sparked wars once resources became scarce. Lack of genetic diversity and long reproductive cycles stunted adaptation and made targeted bioweapons catastrophic. An overspecialization towards space habitats and ships made colonization of new planets difficult. As a result, Olympians have nearly gone extinct. A handful of families still exist and act as a sort of ruling aristocracy over the sectors they inhabit.

>>98454451did you just sage your post?
>>98454622it felt like an unfair bump
I’m noticing that Danmachi is hated precisely because of the Metamagic thingThis implies to me that any given cyoa will be disliked if it gives too much to the caster / magic using crowdCyoas that are overly nebulous and filled with unreasonably long lists of abilities that no one will ever read is a solution to this problem.
>>98455076>Cyoas that are overly nebulous and filled with unreasonably long lists of abilities that no one will ever read is a solution to this problemJrpg traitor…

I wish I had an MP idea to bring this place back to life, but I got nothing
>>98455808Make a character for one of the ones posted.
>>98455808The bell tolls…
>>98455808It seems like some OC could have a good chance of giving some life back into the thread, but I think even cityanon and marakanon are gone now. Maybe there's some new stuff that's dropped since that we could use?
>>98454451Working build is pic. For the character, he is something of an eccentric at first glance not being a stoic philosopher or wizened old man. He is a salt-of-the-earth type who likes to be active and engaged quick with a smile and quite jovial, breaking tensions with a laugh. Due to his race, his advanced age isnt apparent being close to 3 centuries old but his relaxed demeanor is the culmination of decades of self-reflection, meditation, and martial discipline. As a Jedi he prefers non-violent means of resolution and has spent a significant portion of his career as a Peacekeeper who is just out and about rather than remaining at the Temple. Despite his preference of non-violence he hasnt ignored his bladework and practices religiously as an outlet for his focus and discipline. He has for a while now been working on his own variant of Soresu to best match his own personal strengths and attributes.Perhaps his most distinguishing feature is his mastery of Tutaminis, which he has practiced and studied extensively over the centuries to the point he is one of the foremost experts within the Order. Depending on how old your character is, I think he will have had 1-2 other Padawans over the years with one of them already having passed away. Is that helpful?
>>98455952I don't think OC from either of them would be enough. It would have to be something way higher effort.
>>98445311is the holonet still working?it's unclear if communications are affected by the hyperspace crisis
>>98456256I get that, but there's really no one else left. Towerslop and many other promising wip have no updates and it's been a while since anyone announced anything new. The newest was maybe the colonizer idea with the elemental magic?
>>98456256>>98456335Just go pick something from the cyoag thread. No one is going to spend the time and effort to make OC for a thread where every anon hates every other anon, and shitposters are doing their best to kill the thread entirely.
>>98456440>No one is going to spend the time and effort to make OC for a thread where every anon hates every other anon, and shitposters are doing their best to kill the thread entirely.Same thing's happening there, and I did ask if there was something new we could use in an earlier post since all the recent one's I saw were really short and not good for multiplayer.
>>98456285I guess that could be story to story determination. Maybe some planets are cut off from communication entirely because the hyperspace routes near them are completely gone while others have limited or degraded communication and some lucky few were saved from the disaster and have undisturbed communication. Which would suddenly make them of extreme strategic value where once they were considered backwaters or useless.
>>98445311Alright alright. New idea.Middle aged jedi master who fell to the dark side in his youth and became a warlord that did terrible things before eventually being redeemed. Now he is burdened by a karmic debt that can never be repaid, and with war looming he fears what he may become if he fights again.
>>98456848Sounds dope
>>98456120Are you in the discord? You seem really interested in the starwars thing and I have a RP server you could look at where you can play a jedi (or a clone or a senator etc)

>>98458983I don't even have it installed.

>>98460694I don't get why it just suddenly died. Sure it was slowing down, but then everyone just decided to leave all at the same time?
>>98460761If by sudden you mean over the period of a month if not more, then yes. Think of it this way, the more anons who actually did stuff and didn’t complain left, the more the percentage of anons who did nothing but bitch and be negative increased dur to the smaller population, slowly knocking off the rest of the anons as their tolerance for what BS they were willing to put up with was exceeded, leaving the thread in its current state.

>>98461924https://discord.gg/ftVsXw3
>>98456120I tried to come up with something, but nothing I come up with feels interesting.A former Padawan should have some common points to reflect the training, but also some differences to mark branching out and contrast as to not make two identical characters.Sen Roric has a very broad skillset. He's a guardian and has the skills to support it, but also a broad set of skills and traits that are more consular-like, for example being Wise, Serene, a bunch of diplomatic skills, Force Revitalize and Force Light. Personality-wise, he's similarly broad in his stance, having the discipline and bladework focus, but also the non-violent tendency and the Living Force doctrine. It's hard to branch out while keeping the core. From things I considered are:-Going with a different outlook on the Force: major heterodoxy for Dark Brotherhood, would probably be the easiest to differentiate, but that's a whole different character concept. Going the opposite and being more strict in Orthodoxy is something doable, but on the other hand keeping the Living Force is a big thing that could be passed on to a padawan.-Shifting more into the force, but again, given how much branching Sen Roric has into it, it'd be hard getting there without shifting from Guardian into a Sentinel or Consular completely, and that falls under a different council iirc, like a Guardian should train a Guardian.-Going the opposite and having less force and focus on bladework. This is hard too, as when it comes to the crown of Guardians with Tutaminins, that's Sen Roric's spec. Branching into different saber forms feels disjointed as Roric has only Sokan, although he's not a purist. There is one idea I'm still considering, but I'm not sure if it'll end up satisfying at all.
>>98464234Not him but I like to focus on these three points.>agencyThey need to be able to do things and have an impact.>pressure pointsThey need to have some clear weak point that allows them to be pressured or challenged.>plot hooksThey need to have some connection to the story.Take superman as an example. He's clearly got agency in the form of super powers. He's got pressure points with his secret identity, loved ones, and morals. He's got plot hooks with his active role as a superhero and connection to krypton.
>>98464361Well, the idea I'm still considering is a master who's weak in the force, but also possesses either force immunity or force sever (despite the name, force immunity sounds effectively like a downgrade of force sever desu), and a talented warrior otherwise (stack the physical perks, either purity on soresu (I also noticed earlier I mixed the name up with Sokan) or go battlemaster style full spread of forms) with Doctrinaire (what I meant by Orthodoxy earlier) to sort of guide him despite the weak force connection. So with those three points>agencyHas the physical skills and the force immunity/sever to even the playing field when faced with a force user, possibly even getting an advantage due to being more used to that>pressure pointsBeing weak in the force is a big drawback, especially when faced against non-force sensitives when the immunity/sever doesn't help. The Doctrinaire stiffness of personality could also make social situations harder due to the strict code of conduct.>plot hooksThere'd be the tie to Sen Roric as his former master and the overall jedi duties.
The big complaint that I have is how expensive equipment is.Just having a custom lightsaber and some tools to utilize your skills could cost upwards of 40 points. At that point you may as well spend 40 points on a clone legion and order CT-42069 go give you his kit and spend the rest of the war sweeping floors.
>>98464450Noncombat equipment is way too expensive yes. Combat equipment though, especially sabers, is a billion times more powerful in a jedis hands to where it probably does solo half a clone legion
>>98464554The 501st wiped out the jedi temple.180 jedi, most of which were masters, died in the arena on Geonosis. It took 6 clones to kill Ki Adi Mundi who was part of the jedi high council. Most jedi aren't Anakin. An army is a terrifying force.
>>98464650Geonosis feels more like a special case since the jedi got baited to hell and gone, trapped in a kill box.
>>98462619I only gave the link 12 hours so if starwars guy wants to get in the server to get to the starwars rp server he'll have to ask for another one. Its like a baby ttrpg with a buncha campaigsn being ran at once and you just join whatever interests you and progress from padawan to knight to master, or do clone stuff or do senator stuff or do intel officer stuff or do specops stuff etc.
Crazy to see this place go from constantly receiving big writefags, artfags, and activity to openly talking about switching to Discord roleplay.
>>98465021We clung to things for too long and allowed the shitpost rot to set in because of it. Those initially alienated anons realized they could entertain themselves by dragging the threads down, and eventually reinforced each other enough that anons who genuinely hated certain cyoas felt that they had an audience for their hatred, at which point they dug in like ticks to repeat the mantra of "do as i say or go away" forever. And then eventually people went away.
>>98464397So far, unless I messed something up, I have 45 points spare, and that's a big temptation to swap Weak for Powerful and still have 15 points left. On one hand, this guts the initial idea a lot, on the other, it makes sense for a Consular (looking it up, a Guardian training a Consular, especially a martially inclined one doesn't seem to be as big of a deal) and it'd be a massive buff in terms of power.
>>98465043Are you saying that anons shouldn't have clung to the mainstays of the thread for too long, like MHA?
>>98465021Trying to get the one guy who actually wants to do starwars stuff in contact with a place that actually does starwars rp so he can actually use his character instead of maybe at most getting a few prompt responses from another character (Though i dont think hes even getting that much right now)
>>98465052I was right from the very beginning. The one guy who refuses to stop posting MHA literally killed the thread. Its absolutely basic SEO. All people see is MHA and assume were a dead thread with nothing ever new or happening because we havent written anything for it in a year, and it becomes a self fulfilling prohpecy instead of a revolving door of new people showing up as a new set of fresh cyoas takes the limelight and lures them in.MHA has worse than zero draw, its actively keeping people away. It was a targeted attack designed to hamstring us and it worked because the jannies and mods don't give a shit.
>>98465052Yes, but that's just my opinion. I understand why people didn't want to remove it, and why by keeping it we kept the threadslaves motivated to help sustain the thread as a whole. But by not removing it we created an easy rallying point for attacks on the thread. So, it's an open question which was better or worse overall. Without keeping MHA, the threads might have simply died for lack of threadslaves. If we'd discarded them we might not currently have this toxic environment. Who knows.
>>98465150Oh also the threadslaves being too lazy to update the cyoa posts anymore, leading to, you guessed it, the cyoas to look dead as fuck and not appealing to anyone. It takes like 2 threads for a single build or writefag to be added to the posts now and even then its gonna be only that one threadslave and the rest will just keep posting the old version.Nothing we do seems alive at a glance, all they see is the shitposting.
>>98465163If they hadn't necromanced it for a full fucking year after it died and recieved no posts we could have done a MHA 2 by now and had something to rally behind that we hadn't already done five times.Instead they scared off all the new blood by having a massive fuckin wall of writefags and characters that dont even exist anymore but make them think they are standing at the bottom of the ocean. They are the only CYOA to refuse to abdicate when their time was up, they literally trumped it. You can draw a line along the rise and decline of the thread and its entirely based on new cyoas bringing in a bunch of hype as the thread dedicates to them. But everyone mentally still feels like were dedicated to MHA because they see it every thread and weve already milked that run for all its worth.I really wish supporters of the MHAposting would study even the most basic SEO or advertising and realize how horribly it has fucked us. Or atleast admit that a fucking year of no posts was long enough and they can let it go.
>>98465193Curb Appeal is the phrase i was trying to think of, imagine walking past a store or restaurant for a full year and they still havent removed the sign that says to try our new product. Same thing every day. You just stop even looking. You already tried the product a few times and lost interest. Your friend tried it. Their friend tried it. Everyone in town has tried it now. They start going to other places because they want to try new things, sometimes they check back and to see if they have anything new and every time they see the same old advert and know its not worth going in unless they want that one product.
>>98465193I think you're being intentionally inflammatory to get a rise out of people, but when the idea of removing MHA initially came up I did not oppose it then, nor do I oppose it now. I dislike the idea of generals and if one must exist I greatly prefer that at least its content should rotate frequently to avoid inbreeding and thread personalities developing. I can only assume however that any threadslaves we do have remaining somehow will immediately leave in protest, and likely no one will take up the task in their place since we have so few anons now. This will presumably put the final nail in these threads.
MHA is never going away because the fags that repost it are even more autistic, stubborn and vitriolic than faggots who come here to kill everyone's motivation to write. And nobody will match their energy because the chances of this place reviving are at all times low.
>>98465165I feel like sometimes, a non-usual threadslave threadslaves and he doesn't use the notes, just the posts from the previous threads, so even if I did update the notes before seeing some request inside the thread, it gets lost.
>>98465230>This will presumably put the final nail in these threads. Then let it die. All of the good, half-way decent, and even just tolerable anons have left long ago. All that's left are the complete freaks and societal rejects.
>>98465051If I move some other stuff around, I can quite neatly spend the points on more skills. But I'm still conflicted about the Force Immunity vs Sever Force choice (and by extension Sentinel vs Consular). Can anyone more knowledgeable shine some light on the difference between those two, and how they'd work with a Jedi who's overall weak in the force?
>>98443081HelloI am back after a long time to partake in a multiplayer cyoaCease all current mps and let us restart one on a healthy basis
>>98465529Why do you mean by restart one?
>>98465535Restart a mp
>>98465193>>98465225Idk, I still don't think MHA is fully to blame. It's like one guy who keeps posting it, and I distinctly recall MHA anons after it died being indifferent to the cyoa being posted. They were just gonna post their writefags if they wrote again regardless of whether the cyoa stayed in the rotation. I agree that the curb appeal issue was something anons should have considered much more, but we had points of high activity since then as well as new blood come into the general. In my opinion, the real killer was the thread personality issue. Plenty of decent normal anons were pretty recognizable during this or that MP, which was perfectly fine and fun. But you had more and more anons become recognizable across MPs due to their tendency to need the spotlight, to inject their fetishes into their builds, or to simply be offputting and annoying. Even namefags like saberanon, who I don't mind, would get annoying anons attaching themselves to his builds in forced ways just because they recognized him. I can't speak for anyone else, but there were a couple of MPs where I chose to focus more on interaction with other builds simply because his orbiter's builds sucked major balls. I imagine those anons would have made better builds seprate from him if he wasn't identified. People just have to be weird about this stuff. For a newfag, this has to suck. The most annoying people are constantly fighting for the spotlight and either pissing people off over past grievances you weren't around for, or just behaving in an offputting way without other normal anons to balance them out. And because the community is so small, the halfway normal anons are still identified and interacted with based on things that you, again, weren't around for. You're either left out of the cool kid's club or forced to engage with a bunch of bickering freaks. Naturally you'll move on because it feels like this >>98465291And just like that, there's one less person to make things better.

>>98464234>OrthodoxyI think this makes sense, he is an Orthodox type of Jedi who has had a looong time to really work on his own understanding. It seems very possible for a padawan who "follows the recipe rather than understands the ingredients" to take his attitude of self discipline to heart and be Orthodox.>Guardians should train guardiansI disagree here. Padawans are their own people and are taken on before their own skills and talents have fully manifested.I think rather than build around him, you can build a character you like and we can work backwards. If they are very different in ways we can ask why, how they ended up that way. Etc.>>98464397For example using this:>sever force This is pretty much the same epitome he would be chasing in terms of nonviolent victory. And being weak in the force makes sense to want to even the field which fits with his philosophy of using your own strengths to overcome challenges.Alternatively; while Sen sticks with Soresu, maybe it was a friction point between them and the Padawan learned many styles believing one to be too limiting. Or if not a friction point, he was a natural blademaster who Sen thought would be wasted on a single form.
>>98465973Whichever one it is (You) will hate it.
>>98465370>Force sever is like cutting a power cable that goes from an enemy to their force battery. It turns off their magical lights as it were. It is very hard to resist while it's happening but against a "weak" force character a strong character might be able to resist and without dedicated focus would likely regain access later.>force immunityIs a mega mental shield. Particularly useful against sneaky force users who use illusions, emotional manipulation, mind tricks, or generate waves of terror that break peoples minds, etc. It might not be super useful against convention fighting, but it hard counters all of the unorthodox darkside techniques and mitigates the corrupting influence of sith artifacts, spirits, etc. This shouldn't be really affected by weakness in the force since you arent using your power you are melding into a greater whole. Maybe being weaker makes it harder to achieve or maintain for long periods.
>>98465973An epic fantasy adventure with like 50 new anons.
>>98443095Decided to do a short relationship chart seeing as how I enjoyed the other ones. Vamps may be dead but if there's one thing they're good at, it's not staying that way for very long.>Warren's Charthttps://rentry.org/WarrenChambersChart
>>98465982>>98466055Fair enough. I think I'll lean Sentinel then, although Force Immunity being worse defence against non mental powers than Sever Force will still trouble me a bit, but it makes more sense with weak and overall I think better for the character. I think I'll also go Soresu purist, as that's easier on a budget and more clear in what the character does. Going purism also branches a bit off Sen, while keeping the base, and fits with the Doctrinaire personality in two ways, one: it is a very code compliant defensive style, two: the hyper focus on a single style matches the strict personality of an orthodox hyper focusing on the code, while also in a way letting someone else decide on his path for him (order's code, master's style). I'm not a 100% certain on how purity works, though. It's a buff you can get after purchasing a single mastery, right? Or does it include the price of that mastery in the purchase as a trade off for abandoning other styles? As for the force powers, I'll be taking some despite being weak, but not very flashy ones, so I hope they'll be useful despite the flaw: Sense, Control, Empathy, Mental Shields (feels like a prerequisite for Immunity, or is it redundant?), Precognition and the Immunity. Together, they give me an idea of a master who's sent to deal with dark side artifacts, so they don't cause troubles. Skills a mix of martial ones, knowledge and investigative (diplomacy oddly is included in that as that's seeing through lies). Also, for the race to make up for the weak force I want something with high physical prowess, so I think I'll go with a whiphid. I considered a wookie, but the inability to speak basic would get annoying to write if it gets to that.
>>98466214>Force Immunity being worse defence against non mental powers than Sever Force will still trouble me a bitIn legends it could, but the cyoa doesnt extend it that far unfortunately. It is more useful since it can be trained to be a passive state of affairs rather than something that needs to be actively directed and controlled so in that sense probably better for a 'weak' force user who might not fair well when pitting force power against force power.>Form PurityYes you purchase the mastery and then buff it further, to the point it could be considered an exemplar of its strengths or even mitigate its weaknesses. The example used is Dooku who was so dedicated to the duellist form that he was able to overcome its biggest weakness which was that it was supposedly 'countered' by ranged combat which he breezed through.

I did not see that coming.Other than that, I thought you did well to paint Warren as a vampire who's been in the trenches long enough to make light of the horrors all around him. >>98467185>vampfags are literally fagsyeah I'm suddenly doubting this MP's ability to revive the thread...
>>98465973Fate grail war with interesting builds, a decent number of writefags per build to explore each pairs dynamics and how they interact with others (or at least dumps are paired together instead of dragging down more active builds), some kino fights that hypes up all participants and displays all their abilities, and resolves cleanly within 3~ months of starting instead of dying out with no conclusion.I doubt it will ever happen because anons don't really want to write their build dying (which is fair), but perfect doesn't have to be realistic.
>>98467239I'm trying to remember who actually died in FSN.There was Lancer, Assassin, Saber, Archer, Berserker, Mage, and.... Rider?I think orange hair guy just went around with Saber killing all the servants until using his last command to destroy the grail. That's the sort of story that only works if you have a clear protagonist.
>>98467185>Is... is Warren gay for Clarke? I did not see that coming.Didn't mean for it to come off like that, but that seems funny enough, so sure. Meant to be more of finding someone else who is more in tune with their humanity and with similar interests. I did intend to make Warren not care too much about who his night partners were though so it works out. You only live once, or twice in his case. Why bother being bound by societal standards when said society is puppetted by the immortal damned?I answered long ago in another thread, >>98232439 , that he's still pretty young in a vampire perspective, having only been Embraced around a couple decades prior, which is why he treats the other newer Embraced as peers in similar situations rather than flexing his generation. Even Thinbloods, he only remarks on their type because they're a bit of odd sort, kind of outliers in the whole scheme of things. He distances himself from most of kindred society in general and only interacts as much as is expected of him, since he's one of the very few who can still enjoy human society through the Gift of Life and would much rather enjoy himself then dealing with stiffs.>>98467230If you were expecting any single MP to revive the thread, I don't think you'd ever find it. Better start now to do what you want, cause no point waiting for others to give you permission or inspiration. That's why I've come crawling back to vamps, cause I think it can be enjoyed for what it is, rather than trying to hinge the entire success of the thread on it. Far less pressure that way.
>>98467285I wouldn't even mind someone's build being more of a "protagonist" than mine, but the anons who really want that are annoying and make sauceless builds. The most deserving never want the crown.
>>98467239I'm still bummed that the Fate Arena didn't work out. I had a cool idea for a way to have a grand finish for my character, and then it didn't go further than like turn 2. It is what it is, it's hard to even balance that many builds in the first place, since its all tied up in having a partner.
>>98467328Same. I wasn't that into my build's servant, but I could make it work and was kinda expecting my build to be their own undoing, hopefully at least getting kinda far before that point.
Vampires and homosexuality have always been entwined. I would almost be surprised if none of our characters were gay.
>>98467339Funnily enough I actually really liked my servant that run. Their Noble Phantasm was what made me have the idea of their grand finish as the Servant could accelerate and influence things to a predestined ending, so in a moment of great need my Master would command them to use it on himself to create a future where he was capable enough to defeat his opponent, sacrificing his lifespan to become the aged version who was only able to refine his Mystery enough after a lifetime of study. Every other time though, yeah it's kind of a mess. Really doesn't work that well meshing together two random builds unless they were made for each other in mind. I know that the synergy or lack of it makes for the interesting part, but we've seen how it can just instantly kill interest if it goes awry. Can't forget that massive meltdown where that one master tried to instantly kill her servant because of how much their ideals clashed.
>>98467328Was there more than one of those? I was enjoying the one I was involved in but yeah ended out of no-where. Could have been very cool.>>98467361Whic servant had that NP? Sounds like a cool af story moment.
>>98467392Just the one Fate arena as far as I know. And the servant in question was Elsewise, an Archer with the EX NP called The Great Journey. It acted as a debuff to lower the opponent's parameters to their lowest values as it ages them, but it could be influenced by the Luck stat to determine how well the "arc" of one's life could turn out as it was essentially an instant death attack.
>>98467417Oh I remember him, he was the personfication of a concept yeah? Like tomorrow or death or something
>>98467425Something like that, it's been so long that I couldn't even remember the actual name of the NP without looking it up. Lot of characters in that run that were pretty interesting after going back through the roster. I remember Lupin being a pretty formidable opponent that everyone had to look out for, and Rosencrantz/Guildenstern had a really funny gimmick.
>>98467440Yeah I do remember liking a lot of the servants but my memory of the masters was less good. Lupin would have been a fun character to see in fights because of his theif skill

There's a new cool Worm CYOA with in-depth power customisation options and explanations, but it's for Cauldron capes, and it kind of lacks in everything else. Maybe we can try it?https://imgchest.com/p/md7od3aklyp
>>98469837I can't read so I won't be able to make a build for this.
>>98469837This doesn't really seem all that in depth when it's basically just asking you to imagine a custom power with pretty flimsy guidelines. It's a lot harder to make a Worm power because people tend to just go for straightforward effects, and with only the two example powers to go off of, I think it's just going to end up with a lot of people nitpicking other builds. Myself included.

>>98470278I wouldn't say easy points, I'm just saying it's easy access to good ST's, specifically their ST's. It's better for Vigilantes as they appreciate a grab bag, but for all the other roles, it's going to eat a power slot. It's not free if you're planning to just take it for points only, unless you plan to shuffle around trying to keep yourself from feeling like shit in the middle of a fight.

>>98470423https://rentry.org/ThreadKeeping2#xenon
>>98470603>Didn't ban hypermutationThat's where it all went wrong
>>98469728Haven't heard of Super Capeshit Isekai before. Seems interesting but man it's so limiting. Some powers feel so ass because you need to spend your entire budget to undo limitations while others are simply given a straightforward base which you can choose to upgrade from. Like why would I need to stay in Intangibility for an hour and want to spend my points to stay for even longer?Suit options also invalidating a huge amount of power choices kind of sucks too. True Vision and Mental Shielding kind of completely ruins going for illusions or telepathy. Missions are also pretty skewed, they grant so much points but purely for upgrades so it really incentivizes going for a lot of base powers to upgrade later. At minimum you're looking at around 14 points from your 5 missions, and if you actually choose more of the 5 pointers or even higher, you could easily net 25+ which is almost doubling your initial budget under Real Supers power level.
>>98469728>Platinum AgeI wish the Divination major power was in a better cyoa
>>98470395>just because it's shit doesn't mean it isn't high effort! What? I never said it was shit, I actually like it enough, it's not perfect but it's not shit either. My point was another one. You can't buy shit in SC with just 1 point, while in marak piece most things cost just one point. It doesn't have an impact on the quality of the cyoa, it's just an objective part of it.In some cyoas all you have is one point, so that point is going to be worth a whole lot more. By consequence, if someone attempts to sneak in something over budget there everyone is going to know. Nobody would notice if someone was one or 2 points over budget in your DxD cyoa (because you can't spend less than 10 points at a time, but that's a different problem.) or in Fate, because the point pool is massive.

Flashpoint/Hypermutation still gives you a build, you have less power because you invested in potential but you still have a proper build. >>98472465I vote witcher if for no other reason than to personally piss off that one schizo who made it his mission to kill it, thus helping to set the tone for other shitposters to follow his lead.
>>98472465I would give Witcher a chance, but we need a good premise to play it because every class basically lives in their own bubble. I can see Witchers, Mages, and Mutants working together under one guild of some kind, but I dunno about other options.
>>98473099Royalty, assuming they're not crossclass witchers themselves, would probably have to formally associate themselves with at least one PC witcher as sponsor or something, tying themselves to the witching and the witcher to royal politicking.
>>98473821Here's a trvth nuke most of you aren't ready forTrying to accommodate nobilityfags is the biggest mistake we make with Witcher MPs because they're playing an entirely different game They're playing setting maker while everyone else trying to play in a settingNobility and Underking should be left to NPCs
>>98473993Actually nah, Underkings are fineI forgot most of the domain stuff is locked to nobility
>>98473993Did anyone even insist on playing a Noble? There's not much of a point to play them unless you pick Barony or County and insist on every build being part of your lands so you can oppress and rape them.
>>98474130>Did anyone even insist on playing a Noble?Nta, and I don't think there was any insistance per se, but we do have that one anon who wants tp play kingdom builder and grand strategy instead of focusing on individuals like we normally do. He always shows up saying nothing we do interests him that he wants that stuff, he would have no reason to play witcher if we ban nobles. Not saying it's a reason to keep them, just that we have 1, maybe 2, anons that want that kind of stuff.Other than that people wanted to use the noble origins to flesh out the world, having them be characters we made instead of canon ones, but I don't see why they need to be builds in that case, they can just be NPCs.
>>98474247Then he should have been here for btn or the arenasToo late now, put him on world building duty
You know, you can citybuild just fine in OR by starting with a Royal Claim... or if you really want the struggler's path I guess Mihrdat works too.
>>98474247one more faggot to keep out of the thread thenno big loss
>>98445311How would you guys feel about me making a Dark Side powers DLC in Rentry for this? I feel like the ability to learn Sith Sorcery or the power to kill people with your gaze is sorely missing from this CYOA.
>>98474959I mean, it'd be cool just to have, but I don't really think Force Sensitives are really missing much. I mean what do you really need other than Force Repulse and Force Lightning if you want to annihilate 99% of anything that you'll run into? I know those aren't technically Dark Side restricted but let's be real who else is going to get the "disintegrate everything around me" button?
>>98474959It'd be interesting. Not sure how you would handle learning those. Most of the dark side stuff is just up to reader interpretation right now.
>>98474959I'd welcome it as long as you take this >>98475122 into account and only include powers that can't made by misusing normal force powers
>>98474982Power absorption like Vitiate.
>>98473099I'm not that into Witcher, but I'd make a build if that's what anons are craving. I can put my cape aspirations aside if it means breathing some life back into the general.
>>98475417Personally I'd really dig capes too, but every time it's come up the same CYOA's are hashed out and people just decide it's too much of a hassle to do most of them, and the ones that are left have been played out. I personally don't really like Witcher because that Fate Shard or whatever the single special currency you get makes each build so dramatically different from each other, which seems great for build variety, but it almost always goes into multi-classing with Mage or Witcher because those two are able to take the most initiative in the setting. Or Luck I guess, that's a pretty fair pick.
We've got at least one person interested in Star Wars so I'll try to make a build for that.
>>98475431I don't remember people multi-classing in Witcher that much outside of mutant builds, though. There's a lot more valuable shit you can buy than multi-class, and you don't really need that stuff to cover for each class' weakness if your build isn't shit.
>>98475431Kinda not surprised those two are the big multi-class picksSource is the highest power option in the cyoa(generally, non-source builds can win in a 1v1 but source has the best combo of power and versatility) and witcher gives you a lot of stuff with very little point investment. Also witchers don't get that many options to spend their wish of destiny
>>98475447I don't think it's much of covering for a classes' weakness as it is simply balling out with the power they offer. Get the best of both worlds with relatively little downsides. At least with the ruleset we had previously where we had some tweak with the magical education or something, I remember that being pretty useful for builds going that direction.>>98475461Yeah Witchers basically go in either actual devil contracts or luck if they don't go with another role. Or I guess you could use it to just buy something you didn't have enough points for or something but no one goes for the boring budget option cause its the least bang for your buck. At least pure Mages get the option to become like the undisputed top 20 of a school in history or something with theirs.
>>98475447I wouldn't really call them mutant buildsThey were mostly Witcher builds that multi-classed into being a mutant. Pretty sure half of them got their mutagen from rewardsThe closest to being a mutant build was Witcher-at-home elf source build
>>98475484Honestly always kind of pissed me off that the Mutagen reward is literally just something to hold onto because by default you aren't able to apply it to yourself. Like I get it, but it made Biomancy so incredibly strong not only cause it was formidable on its own, but also because of that limitation. Better off going for a Magic Artifact since getting a cost-free Alternative Magic to use is pretty solid. It's not the insane upgraded magic you can get by choosing the Source path, but its pretty painless since you don't have to jump through multiple hoops for it.
I'm starting to think Anakin had like 600 points. You can't create a build anything like him with the points that are available.
>>98475431i feel like playing platinum age desu, it could be fun for a kitchen sink comic like mp
>>98475517Bruh he was literally the chosen one
>>98475517You can rape almost every Clone Wars character using the CYOA, and that's before using cheat options like Gendai. The only ones I think you can't defeat outright are Dark Side Anakin and Palpy. The former, because destiny won't let you, and the latter, because he's way too strong. Anakin before his fall is free game, though; get enough perks to boost your duelist ability and beat him to death with Vapaad or Djem So + Soseru.
>>98475518It's always the issue on handling the World though. The archetypes' bonuses can hinge entirely on having enough events/modifiers to trigger them, so we'd have to determine a setting that would at least make every single one of them active at the same time. It's not an impossible mountain to climb but it's pain in the ass that people would rather not deal with. Also, some powers are just ass and not worth a Major power, while some Minor's are insanely strong because for some reason he decided to lump together a half dozen synergies with multiple options in benefits or body traits and let the rest get absolutely nothing.
>>98475505>Better off going for a Magic Artifact since getting a cost-free Alternative Magic to use is pretty solid.I'm surprised most didn't go for that desu
>>98475533yeah just picking enough world options to fit as many builds as possible is easy enoughagreed on the powers though, some are whack and lots of benefits and body traits are basically powers too
>>98475614Well it’s basically being kind of a cantrip merchant compared to a real mage. Not that the base magics are anything to sneeze at, but real Source builds are going to have their specialties Empowered and whatnot so it’s sinking a significant amount of your points through contracts just to be at a level they’re able to surpass. Only benefit is that its free to cast so the more spammable ones have a higher benefit.
>>98475518Nta, I don't mind platinum age, I don't remember much of the specific powers, just that making a build is very convoluted. It's not really bad, just a chore. I could try making something in it.>>98475533>>98475642For the world, I vaguely remember that this cyoa has less of a "fuck up the world in exchange for personal power" component unlike the other sylen cyoas like witcher and viz volaire. I could be misremebering it.
>>98475973There's still plenty of that. Some options need you to have modifiers for them to give their bonus.
What is the name of that cyoa about being a submarine captain in a mostly underwater world?
>>98475973I've been putting a build together now that I have some time. I think that having as many world modifiers as possible would work in favor of both allowing for as many builds as possible, and enhancing the kitchen sink vibe anons were talking about. My only suggestion would be for the danger level, Noble is fun but I'd go with Dark since it unlocks more options without getting to the point of Bleak so it's a nice middle ground.
>>98478061NTA, and I haven't looked at the cyoa in a million years, but I'll throw a build together with whatever modifiers anons agree on.
all that talk about anons making builds for star wars but not a single one got posted
I'd rather do Witcher or Platinum Age(don't have high hopes for it, I remember not liking the cyoa) than Star Wars
>>98478061https://rentry.org/2x7e8cizI tried to put together as many setting options as possible for the kitchen sink vibe anons were looking for. Of course there's stuff that can be house ruled, like having certain threats still be available to some degree even without the requirements.
>>98479584>all power levels Time for my one level above Armageddon greater exchange(+1 Super) jobber
Give me an example of a build that is “ unbeatable”
>>98479805Yours, because I simply cannot imagine ever beating to it.
>>98461268Found it
>>98480012>Race: Elf>Armor: Leather>Off Hand: Net>Style: Calculated>Weapon: SpearSolved CYOA, nothing beats the spear net combo.
>>98480191>Race: orc>Armor: scale>Off Hand: great weapon>Style: spirited>Weapon: sword
>>98479584Seems good, I'll make my build either tonight or tomorrow
>>98480326>Sword sissyIt's all about power wuss>Race: Orc>Armour: Chainmail>Off Hand: Great Weapon>Style: Brutal>Weapon: FlailI didn't calc shit
>>98480404You lose. It's not all about power. It's pretty much about balancing the stats out.
>>98480012I think I played a different version then, it had perks and the races had stats.
>>98480497Congrats you made a meta build, get 2v1'd dumbass.
not seeing a lot of builds for these ideas...
>>98481042which ones
>>98478061I will probably start attempting one soon. I don't know how long it will take, but it's worth a try. The faceclaim may not be the most tiring aspect for once.I also aggree with you on both points, but it's a bit late to say that I guess.>>98479584Looks doable. The only thing I have to say is that picking "The gods are here" kinda invalidates having those sources of power since you can't pick them yourself anymore.>>98481042Platinum age is a slow one to build for. Witcher would be faster but it seems we aren't going for that. I also have less ideas for that.
>>98479584Looking at the cyoa I feel like anti-hero and anti-villain have a switched description.
>>98479584Does Lesser Exchange work with the choices we get from Power Sources, or is it only for the general ones from our Power Level.
>>98481341I think it works with any of your power choices in general.
>>98479442I can post a WIP build if yyou want.
>>98481341It works with all powers, no matter how you got them.
>>98480012>race: Elf>armor: leather>offhand: empty hand >style: calculated>weapon: flailIll just forfeit any matches against dagger wielding hobbits. Everyone else is ez-mode.
>>98479584I'd at least nerf Steel Mind so it doesn't invalidate empathy and telepathy of all ranks for the price of a benefit, maybe make the resistance temporary and they have to build it up again later or higher rank mental powers can attempt to break through it. Also willpower though to a lesser extent . Maybe someone with their own willpower on top of their other abilities can try to force a clash of wills or something.
>>98483571Mind controllers deserve nothing Also Steel Mind needs hours to do anything against strong mind control anyway It doesn't need a nerf
damn (damn)
>>98445311Maybe everyone else is a fraud but I'm not.I tried to find a better image but there's just so much AI crap flooding the search results that I caved and went for Luke Skywalker.Anyways, here's Jedi Master Lucius Varro:https://rentry.org/zdkorea7Still some sections left to complete. I'll continue updating if the mp gets interest.
>>98484731You complained about AI crap and yet went for an AI Luke?
>>98484761I'm blind, please understand.
>>98484902Develop Force Sight, no excuses.

Trymants planets undergoing tremendous ecological change with the sudden loss of their moons.First priority, get back to the outer rim and rally the veterans. Maintain order during the crisis. Where reasonable, some of these refugees can be resettled into outer rim planets that were devastated by the war.>>Across the galaxy the chaos spreads with emergency powers granted to the Bith Chancellor Taniss Ando, an ambitious politician who now rules with an iron fist significantly expanding the Republic Military and SIS.Lucius is going to be analyzing this build up and preparing countermeasures. There's keeping control during a crisis, and then there's using a crisis as a cover to transition from republic into empire. If it's the latter, he's not going to let it happen.>>A once moderate separatist movement surges as the senate flounders in emergency, with many worlds seeking to look after their own needs. Rumors abound that some of the separatists even have access to reliable if limited hyperspace travel. From Lucius's point of view this is exactly what needs to happen. The republic became reliant on trade, and with the hyperspace disaster its' now more important than ever for planets to become more self sufficient in case the disaster worsens. Also if there's reliable hyperspace travel he's going to want that in the outer rim ASAP.
>>98486505>>Mysterious pirates strike from the shadows with impunity, and the Kaminoans as pragmatic as ever have begun selling clone soldiers to every warlord with credits to spare, stoking the fires of conflict galaxy wide.If pirate armadas are on the rise again Lucius needs a lot of firepower very quickly. secret hours alone...
>>98491448https://youtu.be/7ciaub5fSfw
>>98491448Eh, I don't think anyone wants to do the usual secret hours stuff. There's not much going on for shipping to occur, and OC discussion is probably better with more eyes, but even that is a double edge sword since it's more likely to be shat on than given feedback now. Also no petting zoo anymore.
