Fyreslayers and sylvaneth, at least as enemies
Also khadrons and idoneth.

Gits and sylvaneth. Gits don’t even have the courtesy of having spider clan stuff in their battles to show them off in their battles.

insanely biased guy here but feel like Ossiarchs should have more story presence. They're nagash's military force and always be collecting bones. Because they're open to (shitty one sided) diplomacy, it's always interesting to here how they interact with other factions, like KO. Can only think of another timeline where they got to be the starter for 5e.

I'd love to read a short story where Khornates and OBR fight over a skull throne or a cheeky one where they argue about what makes a skull good.

What's everyone working on this weekend?
I'm gonna do some touch-up work on these two, then I'm gonna pray the weather isn't too humid so I can prime the whole unit and get them painted.

>TQ
>1) Factions that don't really interact, but feel like they should
FS and DoK. Naked, zealous, muscle-bound manlets versus (or working with) naked, zealous, lithe dommy mommies are an absolutely underutilized combination. Works both for the meme factor of it, as well as being interesting as a frenemies pairing.
>2) Factions that do interact a lot, but it's a weird pair
KO and greenskins. I like Dwarf and greenskin stuff in Fantasy, but it feels disconnected in AoS. KO spend most of their time trading in cities or sailing through the sky. Sure, greenskins have sky pirates (which we'll never see on the table), but the KO's level of technology is so freakishly above everyone else's that greenskin jank shouldn't pose a threat in the sky.

I have no experience sculpting, so I'm running entirely on vibes and brute force. If I do it enough, I'll eventually get it right.
I operate very much off of "monkey see, monkey do". Once I learn something like that, I can usually link techniques and ideas to others stuff as go. Problem is, there's not exactly very many "how to sculpt tits on your 32mm mini" tutorials floating around out there for me to ape from.

>>98465880
I did a varying amount to each model in the unit. Some of the hag models are in salvageable without majorly reworking them.
As a general rule of thumb, I did make most of their asses larger and bare.

Just getting into AoS after finding out it wasn't a continuation of WFB but instead a high fantasy replacement (I literally thought Sigmar came back to lead the empire, not that the world was totally destroyed and replaced with realmspheres).

Question:

Is AoS supposed to be a high fantasy "post scarcity" society? Seems silly to ask, but I've been reading through the lexicanum for Cities of Sigmar and couldn't help but noticed how advanced things are with magic and steampunk/gearpunk? Do people still farm?

I don't get the AoS hate now because it seems really cool. A city of sigmar seems like a dope place to live.
>>
>>98466192
There are entire realms of reality given over to the growing of food. It's not really post scarcity, it's more like shits abundant but only accessible through certain realms.
Shits all fucked.
>>
>>98466192
I mean, technically AoS is still a continuation of whfb, but the world is so different it might as well not be. Plenty of characters from whfb walking around still, though their motivations (and for some backstories) are pretty divorced from whfb.
>post-scarcity
Definitely not, it's just that the tech levels are all over the place. You've got kharadron flying around in zeppelins getting shot at by barely functioning orc crossbows. I suppose skaven did the same thing in whfb though.
But yeah factions very much squabble over resources. You still need to farm and shit, though ghyran is kind of a cheat code in that regard. Hammerhal aqsha is able to grow to modern tokyo levels in size because on the other side of the portal is hammerhal ghyra.
>>
>>98466033
Brute force on £1 plastic card instead of £40 models though?
>>
>>98466033
>how to sculpt tits on your 32mm mini
How to sculpt bags and pouches
>>
>>98466192
It's not really post scarcity, basically the way it works is some Realms have lots of useful resources but almost zero of others. So Chamon is full of metal, every metal you can imagine or ever need for construction work. It literally spills over the mountains in rivers ready for harvesting. But good luck growing enough crops in Chamon to sustain an entire Free City, it's just not built for farming and most attempts end in failure because instead of growing wheat, what sprouts from the magical soil is copper-wheat which is only good for melting down into raw copper.
In Ghyran, meanwhile, you can simply plant some seeds and the Realm's magic will handle growing the crops for you, it'll be the best yield you've ever seen before, you'll never have to fertilize the soil or worry about bad weather... but good luck finding quality metal ore!
There's infinite resources somewhere, but getting those resources to the places that need them is the real challenge. That's why Realmgates are so jealously guarded by Order, capturing them was the first real necessity to start retaking the Realms from Chaos.

Trade with Ghyran is the main source of food. Hammerhal G is mostly farmers, while Hammerhal A is all industry with 0 own food production.
Hammerhal A transports both its products and stuff it got from G to many other Aqshy cities. Coastal ones also jsut fish.
Brightspear is mostly cut off from supplies, but survives on a barely working mechanical garden built by a long gone civilisation who's ruins they inhabit.
There is alos mention that Ulgu plantlife, used to thriving in near 0 light, grows super fast everywhere else and is used to feed the poor because it tastes bad
>>
>>98466192
It seems pretty post-scarcity in the sense that food and potable water are fairly abundant. The big issues of day to day living are dodging the various insane hazards each realm throws at you and surviving the inevitable invasions by enemy powers.
>>
>>98465634

but seriously.. they arent going to, right..?
>>
File: Planet_slizer.png (45 KB, 147x147)
45 KB PNG
>>98466706
Probably not. Info comes from chronic AoS seethers and has been hyperbolically inflated by the telephone game to "AoS is being squatted." Leaks have proven spotty at best thus far. Best guess is they're just gonna have the realms turn into Planet Slizer so you don't have to use realmgates to move between them, and exploring the conflict and consequences that arise from that will be the theme of the next edition.
>>
>>98466706
By way of various clarification posts everything turns out to not nearly be as dramatic as first presented. The realms merging is still happening though that part is undeniable.
But not nearly end times level shenanigans. Closer to 40k's gathering storm, or whfb's storm of chaos (if gw actually had the balls to commit).
>>
>>98466706
It seems incredibly unlikely. Why spend a decade making a setting, only to leak to a select few leakers and liars who coincidentally all pat each other on the back on TGA, that "Hey, we are going to REALLY SHAKE UP AoS, but big secret!" Reads like a bunch of attention starved internet liars playing telephone with vague nonsense. Especially after Boole had a mental breakdown and deleted all his posts.
>>
>>98466582
The scale of things have already gone to 40k levels; multiple realms, multiple kingdoms and major cities in each, giant armies clashing. We can only hope that by becoming a single world overall scale shrinks a little.

Or maybe I should just pick up TOW for that feeling. Idk
>>
>>98466706
it's pretty likely, there's a lot of context clues besides the leakers.

Jervis Johnson retired in 2021, Phil Kelley works on 40k for over a year now and a smaller but still significant loss is Sam Pearson left gw at the beginning of 4e.

There's reason they're doing mass culling of models in one go, and the story hasn't done fuck all since the end of 2e, which coincides with creatives departing the project.

You can't honestly look at 4e and tell me it's not pure slop? The tomes are so fuck awful written and barebones. They didn't put any effort into it because they knew it's just a stopgap. If there isn't actually a push to revitalize the game then 5e is grim if it's more of this shit.

AoS sales are good but GW is a public company and always wants to push for year over year sales growth.
>>
>>98466758

the obr tome is pure trash, lots of weird decisions and a total mismatch in army identity.

the tomes still suffer from aor's being a fucked concept, battle formations being uninteresting and zero attempts at providing incentives to run different compositions of armies, but instead curtailing unit spam by slapping once per turn army on everything.

aos doesnt tend to drill down on mundane kingdom logistics like "where does the food come from" "where do they get their water" "how are taxes handled?" etc. it kind of handwaves a lot of that, the focus of the game both on the table and in the narrative are on the big high fantasy battles, brutal magical realms that want to eat you alive, and a greek/norse style drama of the gods

the tabletop RPG soulbound did actually get a bit more into the day in the life of for citizens of the mortal realms, but it hasnt really been something the regular game chooses to focus on too often. it doesnt mean its not there or that they dont farm or that they're post scarcity somehow, the writers just dont spend much time on it.

also it is technically a continuation narratively of WFB, but it takes place thousands of years and several apocalypses later after WFB's planet was blown up and the new setting takes place in a pre-copernican style firmament where the realms all orbit in each others skies and are more like strange disk or pit worlds. its high fantasy to the point that modern earth physics and astronomy rules dont apply, and much more mythical and magical than that.
>>
>>98467528
Not that anon, but I really do think they should answer questions like that, even if it’s pretty basic in conception. Like I understand why they fight so desperately over Forge Worlds in 40k without needing to know every logistical detail. I think the narrative of Darkwater worked because it’s simple premise of “We have to stop Chaos from corrupting our anti-Chaos water spring” establishes a baseline that makes the rest of narrative easier to get into.
>>
>>98467556
If the water in question was Aqua Ghyranis, then the reason they don't want it corrupted is because Aqua Ghyranis functions both as a healing potion AND a standard medium of exchange. And the reason it's a medium of exchange is because Gold and other precious metals are kinda fuckin' everywhere in the realm of metal, so gold would basically turn into a fiat currency. Though the Karadron HAVE tried to introduce a gold standard.
Most of this IS from Soulbound, though some of it has ended up in the mainline game.
>>
>>98467571

I've been racking my brain trying to choose a simple color scheme for my Gossamid Archers' spites. I'm doing the Oakenbrow color scheme, which is generally autumn-themed, but I can't find any official Oakenbrow Gossamids to use as a reference. I tried a faded yellow like a leaf transitioning from green to red, but it's too close to their hair. Maybe a reddish hue like their leaves?
>>
>>98467882
I should also mention that I don't want their spites to match the Arch-Revenant's. Partly because I based her scheme on a monarch butterfly, because monarch = leader, and partly because I'm not painting those wing veins again.

That's why all the Ogor aren't actually glued down. I needed an easy way to transport these guys to and from work so I can work on em while I'm on site and have down time. So I put rods in their feet and glued cork to the bases so I can stick em on their base while I transport but pull em off to paint.

I'm going to finish up the bases separately with some rocks and grass and stuff.

Why is the Cardinal direction of Life opposite to Fire instead of Death? And Death Is opposite to Metal? Is this an old thing with the eight winds of magic or the nine domains of chaos I don't recognize?
>>
>>98468843
They aren't placed oposit of eachother as should be made obvious by light and dark bring next to eachother
>>
>>98468580
They said Fyreslayers next week, does that mean the reveal for them will also be next week?
>>
>>98468843
on the "original" winds of magic wheel life and death aren't placed opposite of each other, it's a bit of a mess. Anyway in aos ulgu and hysh are next to each other because they form the day-night cycle, slaanesh is also imprisoned between them. They're twin realms, and as you can imagine duality is a very big thing in elven themes.
Anyway the paired winds are
-death/life
-light/shadow
-heavens/beasts
-fire/metal
right? the only one I don't really understand thematically is fire/metal
>>
>>98468879
No? Why would it?
>>
>>98468843
aside from light and shadows the other realms don't have a real opposite

sometimes life is in relation with death, sometimes it's with beasts

I once read a writer saying that the realms were paired this way
>azyr / shyish
>ghyran / ghur
>hysh / ulgu
>aqshy / chamon
I don't know if it was his own rationalisation or if it's based on anything, but in hindsight it just makes sense to me too
>future, heavens, reincarnation / past, underworlds, undeath
>flora, cooperation, harvest / fauna, competition, hunt
>illumination (both metaphorical and literal), symmetry, consciousness / obfuscation (both metaphorical and literal), directionlessness, illusions
fire/metal is a bit trickier
>consumption, passion, energy / transformation, logic, method

Both the old wheel and the placement of the realms in that art are a mess, but at least the previous wheel had one thing that made it make sense: the winds were in a progression of colors, except for white and black

>>98468971
what complicates things further is that the chinks have their own wheel, and of course the winds aren't in the same disposition but are instead placed to match the direction from which they enter cathay, with top left being north-west etc
so unlike the other two wheels it can't even be rotated.

I really can't imagine ghyran and shyish not being paired. I mean it's life and death. Even the realms both have an opposite gimmick going on with the lifequake and necroquake. Doesn't ghyran expand outward from its center too, while in shyish everything is gradually pushed towards the shyish nadir? Or am I misremembering what that was all about?
I understood azyr and ghyr to be opposites in the sense that ghur is all about the moment, primal awareness and shit, while azyr has to do with premonitions and the grand plan and portents in the celestial alignments , stuff like that. Aqshy and chamon having a similar dynamic of fiery passion vs cold logic, though both kind of overlap with ghur and azyr respectively in that sense.
>>98468999
I like the cathayans having their own slightly different version, one of the few things about their implementation I like honestly.

>>
You know what grinds my gears?
That people metely inspired by Warhammer capture its essence better than actual Warhammer does.
Take Elden Ring, for instance:
Scarlet Rot would make Nurgle piss in terror, and is a lot more ominous and tragic, but at the same time has a much better style and is almost beautiful at times.
God-Devouring Serpent captures the desire of Chaos to consume everything much better than any modern descriotion of Chaos does. Formless Mother and Frenzied Flame perfectly depict other apsects of it.
The whole thing with Godwin would work for corrultion of, say, Maw, perfectly, but ogres are just a joke race.
The Misbegotten are what Bestmen wish they were.
And at the same time there's a sense of mystery about it all and nothing is fully explaoned, while Chaos Gods are absolutely one-dimensional and pretty orderly, in fact, with distinctive color schemes and symbolism, uniform daemons, etc.

And that's not even getting into other FromSoft games.

I mean warhammer exists within the broader culture. It both inspires and is inspired by the zeitgeist. Just like we had a bunch of WoW-esque designs from 2013-2015 we're gettint fromslop-esque designs now.
>>98471204
I don't wanna go too far off topic but I felt like with 90% of the bosses you couldn't really do that. You have to wait and bait out their spastic gigacombo, keep your distance, and then punish the 0.5s window after the boss finished flailing around. Unless, of course, you use one of the spirit summons to bait aggro, but then the game becomes absurdly easy and boring too. I felt like only a handful of bosses, like radagon and malenia, had that classic style where it feels more like a dance, you're constantly trading blows and taking risks. I'm not a scrub, I sl1'd this shit because it was barely different from a normal playthrough just slower. Still a good game mind you just imo way, way worse boss fights. Still shits on demon souls' bosses tho fuck that game
>>
>>98471270
I am curious about your distaste with Demon Souls, because to me personally the games lost its way when it became less of experimental designs, puzzles, and set pieces (which Demons Souls excelled in, and every game after diluted it more and more) and instead just solely focused on tight combat encounters that start to meld together. Not to say games like Bloodborne or Sekiro weren't good, they are great, but they don't really have that same magic that made me love the series.
>>
>>98471084
By the way anon, I went looking around a bit and it seems you're not the first to have this idea.
>>98471301
eh it's probably mostly due to me being a zoomer and starting ds3 in like 2016. I think the order in which I played things was 3->bb->2->1->sekiro->ds. After being used to the faster pace and general QoL in the later installments ds can feel clunky. I remember being annoyed all the time at how awkward my character was to control. That fucking flamelurker fight holy shit. I think I would have appreciated the puzzle stuff more if I didn't already know everything beforehand due to general, whatchamecallit, subculture osmosis? I mean in the sense that before I even started the game I knew the monk was blind, you gotta hit the flying manta ray with the sky sword, the big knights has weak ankles, stuff like that.
Also my dislike for des is probably somewhat inflated by how much I detest the poison world in that game. Holy shit

I think that HoS could focus more on excess and perfection. Imagine a warrior so focused on a perfect strike that he ignores his allies and slashes through them just to complete his ideal attack or leaves because his opponent doesn't fot his vision anymore.
On the other hand a demon with many arms, picking as many weapons as he can, even sticking them into his body just so he can carry more

I've had the idea of turning Tarrare into a champion or daemon prince of Slaanesh for a while. Historically this freak of nature was fairly gaunt when he hadn't eaten, but ballooned up a bit like Luffy when he finally ate his fill. Otherwise he had so much excess skin he could wrap it around his waist once and had a 4 inch jaw opening.
Something like a Slaaneshi who fell out of favor and is now cursed to eat constantly.

Anon. We can all agree that using a free software that makes the whole of a composition is bad.

Most people are ok with AI art. Most people don't like bad AI art.
Being retarded and going "AI bad" with all seemingly ai art is retarded and only makes people despise you.
If you want to criticize ai then give a why the particular art is bad. This way the guys that used ai can either be embarrassed and start to improve by using photoshop&similars or just fuck off.

14 years ago people who did computer graphics were just as shit as people who use AI now.
Traditonal artists bitched so much that computer graphics artists became a part of the industry (most of it).

Ai is a tool, just like photoshop, but it has a low skill bar for new people, it wont go away even if you bitch out ad infinity about it.

(Also I hope you are not of those retards who false flag art as AI just because light and other effects that look strange with filters/effects)

It's still happening, but it was always slated to be happening with the campaign at the end of this edition and the next edition.
Sorting through all the more outstanding interpretations and fears, this is what appears to be happening:
>some back and forth attacks between the grand alliances happen, such as dwarfs with lizards attacking chaos, or the "claw of gork" (a new ironjaw on wyvern) bashing up order and chaos and forcing sigmar to ally with one of his old enemies (unclear who)
>eventually chaos makes a big push for azyr and breaches it, also along the way slaanesh gets freed and archaon and sigmar have a big final duel
>somehow, sigmar pulls off his long foreshadowed plan to glue the realms together, but this comes with only a few pieces (specifically the ones we got maps for over the years) getting saved and jigsawed together into a new "last world", while the rest of the realms are destroyed
>an unknown timeskip happens, might be 100 or 1000 years, but most characters are immortals, and the ones who aren't (like thalia) seem to be getting deus-ex-machina'd across the timeskip
>the new world looks somewhat like the old world, in the sense that the surviving bits and bobs of the realms are arranged in a familiar way (ie elven realm as an island in the middle of the ocean, and chaos once again at the poles)
>the new map has new factions that probably exist just in the backdrop and to inspire proxies (there's a convenient not!bretonnia and not!kislev, a japanese faction, a chinese one of evil snake worshippers, and even a chaos faction with blackpowder)
>the timeskip is used to ramp up the grimdark further, the cities of sigmar grow further apart and stormcasts lose their recyclability (instead they pass the mantle to new people upon death)
>there are also two stories over what happened in the big final battle: chaosfags believe archaon killed sigmar for good, sigmarfags believe sigmar defeated archaon and then went into a secret quest
>>

warhammer would be better if gw embraced ai
I already use it for kitbash inspiration and writing campaign fluff that is honestly better than official material lbr
I don't dabble in narrative play but you can generate wonderful emergent tables with ai and even have it DM for you
>>
>>98475306
And this is confirmed to be happening?
>>
>>98475387
Artists do use ai. They do the composition and give with the prompt a simplified composition&materials (visuals, etc).

Trying to discover what ai art is done by actual artists and people just using prompts is indeed hard, maybe harder than discovering traced art.
>>
>>98475186
>>98475306 gives a pretty good rundown. The initial rumour was very apocalyptic, but since then a number of elements have been clarified and things don't look nearly as bleak now.
I am skeptical as to gw's ability to actually pull this off though. I feel like one of the things always holding aos back is that it still had remnants of whfb tying it down, but in terms of story/characters and physical miniatures. They never really had the freedom to develop the world as it actually might develop, because they always had to account for random bullshit like why x factions look y way. Whfb miniatures were designed for whfb's world and vice versa, but that obviously doesn't always work for AoS, so they had to design the world around the miniatures (yes I know minis always come first but they are at least usually designed with the pre existing world in mind).
Good example is freeguild only looking like landsknechts because the miniatures did, which were designed on with a very specific pseudo-hre in mind.
Anyway all this to say that keeping all the characters around after the timeskip might cause a similar issue, where you now have to bullshit your way through having these super duper special characters show up in places and times they really shouldn't be, which is not an amazing way to start your "next chapter" so to speak.
>>
>>98475306

>>
>>98475438

>>
>>98475435
gw hasn't addressed it in any way if that's what you're asking
general consensus is that the broad strokes of the story are generally certain but all of the specifics of how any of this shit is supposed to work are up in the air
>>
>>98475470
Jeepers. That's really something. I'm a fairly casual AoS fan, I know parts of the lore and know a handful of the important characters, but I really play the game for my brother, who loves the setting. It would suck if they went and undermined a system that he has sunk years of time and attention into.
Is there any particular reason that they would want to make these changes? Insofar as I understand, the initial change from Warhammer Fantasy to AoS wasn't a popular one, so why risk it again now that it's somewhat more established?
>>
>>98475502
I don't think the changes are going to be anywhere near end times level. From where things stand, it seems like it'll be mainly the general cosmology and the geographic 'vagueness' that will be amended. Afaik, only stormcast and CoS (and possibly StD) will really be affected in a major way, most of the other factions will keep on trucking as normal. And even then, CoS seem to be mostly continuing on their path set out in 3rd edition.
As for why, probably wanting to attract the hordes of secondaries coming into 40k right now. It's undeniable that AoS has the smallest 'cultural footprint' out of all of gw's settings, despite being the second largest actual game (both in scale, and importantly, investment).
I think gw has realized that the very poor handling of AoS' launch has caused a certain stain to hang onto it, which has proven difficult to remove. We're not even talking about the whfb grogs, but new people who hear about AoS FROM those grogs. A lot of people are still treating AoS based on their first assumptions from that terrible launch in 2015. It's why you still have people saying they don't like the "infinite multiverses" of AoS "with no maps", stuff like that.
I think even if in the grand scheme of things not much will actually change, GW sees this as their chance for a second "First Impression". I don't think the goal is actually to show how different AoS 5e is to AoS 4e, but rather how different it is to AoS 1e, since that's what the target audience still has in their mind.
Will this be successful? Remains to be seen, but I have my doubts. In any case, this is the best theory I can come up with for now
>>
>>98475557
Alright then. Thank you for your time anon, you've given me some things to mull over. Although, I will say that I hope this doesn't fracture the community as it currently stands, that would be unfortunate.

The Nighthaunt spearheads are pretty strong, and you get to ignore most of the game rules (rend, cover, movement restrictions). The newer one has the better Ethereal where you can actually buff your saves.

Deathrattle is cool too, but it's more of a slow attrition and some surprisingly hard hitters.

I do not use ai to do shit either.
I can defend ai without using it "to do art".

Honestly this outrage is retarded. There is a simple solution for shit ai: ignore, don't engage, say it looks bad.

There are extremely valid criticism online but the usual "ai bad" is not one.

For exemple, a yt video about how the ""95% ai anime" is bad, this one was done like I said before (with artists giving a composition and making ai do its shit based on it)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSoutamXPIQ
Another exemple: An "anime" made with ai were the ai just make rotoscope with an styler (made 3 years ago)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9LX9HSQkWo

All in all. AI tech for "creative" illustration&video is relative new, there is interest and investment on the area and the technology and it will only get better. And people pushing it are not nobodies that use ai to make photos in the style of ghibli studio art but actual artists and industry people.
If you are a digital artist afraid of losing your jobs, well, I m sorry, you are feeling the same way as traditional artists felt in the 2000s when people started selling photoshop art to companies.

(If you want to continue this conversation I will be here today, but I hope we don't derail the thread too much)
>>
>>98475742

AI is shit and using it at any part of the art process actively makes your output worse. people like to compare using AI to photobashing done by concept artists, but the core difference is that with AI you don't know what it's sourcing from, and there's no way to get a consistent result out of it, therefore making it a shit tool. if i want to add fat fucking tits to a skaven i can do that myself without surrending myself to the yoke of a random billionaire

>>
After actually reading the new Ogre battletome, I do get what GW was going for with the whole "New Head Bitch says FUCK your mercenary lifestyle" thing.

It's basically just a narrative explanation for why Ogors in AoS have been utterly unconsequential and ignored for 10 years in AoS (They were just too busy being lazy and hiring themselves out to other factions, you see) whereas now that they've gotten their refresh and actual special characters they're now a big looming threat who are going to totally going to start making big plays that'll really shake up the setting (by jobbing, like every other Destruction army)

GW loves attaching meta-narratives to their product decisions as usual, basically.

GW just threw the blurb in to draw a line between CoS Ogres and Mawtribes Ogres, even though they're different species already.

Pointless corporate slop

>GW loves attaching meta-narratives to their product decisions as usual, basically.
And that's a good thing. Keeps the story ball rolling and avoids retcons
>>

>It's basically just a narrative explanation for why Ogors in AoS have been utterly unconsequential
I don't think this was ever necessary

Where are Wanderers?
>>
>>98477773
Stopped wandering in 2e with the CoS battletone.
Became integrated into society as the default city elfs with the 3e CoS tome.
Fell victim to racial prejudice caused by Anvilgard and other events and got marginalizrd or chased out to elf factions in 4e.
Full story all told by the warehouse stock of random leftovers.

Dunno, but please ignore the wanderers-shaped mounds around the living city.
>>

>Stopped wandering in 2e with the CoS battletone.
I thought their fluff kept being that they're the only group that doesn't actually live within the cities, and just passed by
>>
>>98477805
They wandered because nature hated them and wouldn't let them stay in one place.
After Allariel forgave them they didn't have much reason to keep going other than force of habit
>>
>>98477812
>After Allariel forgave them
That's the thing, I remember some ambivalence on that front, like she forgave them for one city, but not others, and/or them just keeping on being nomads regardless at that point.

also because they had other reasons to wander, like traveling through the leylines to fix them

I've been trying to find that teaser trailer from right before 3rd was revealed where half this board was convinced it was fimir but it seems they've deleted it
also mind explaining what's going on thr bottom right there big fella

Everyone thought the red eyes representing scareshields and eyes were actually indicative of Fimir's mono eyes because the two lights for an Orruk's eyes were so close together
I remember rumours of Fimir + bog goblins based on it but Fimir schizophrenia predated anything that even mentioned swamps
Forced meme turned psychosis

appreciate it anon!
and boy, they must be, seems sweltering!

I've used this link to go back to the 2021 threads before kruleboys were announced, people were way more convinced goblins would be in the starter, fimir stuff was either shitposting, kragnos-tier schizophrenia, or faint hope they would be a throwaway unit added to them.

I think this was the first or second thread discussing the teaser https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/79086431/
pic related too
it's interesting to note that even in this thread there was an overlooked rumor of orcs, instead of goblins
>>
>>98477903
In my case I didn't get onboard with the "shoulda been fimir" meme until after the army released. Like you said, initially it just read like shitposting and schizophrenia. But after reading the fluff and seeing how they wanted the army to play, increasingly I've come around to thinking, "Why isn't this army just fimir?"
>>
>>98477941
You know why. GW can't release them no matter the branding because search results and social media are overwhelmed by the hurr durr rape types.
Imagine someone's Grandmother trying to find Little Timmy's present this Christmas amongst that.
>>
>>98477903
Makes you wonder how different dominion would've been received if kruleboyz were gitz instead of odd lanky orcs

point to the fimirfags in the thread

We don't tolerate Warhammer Fantasy discussion here. Anyone asking for Fimir, Greenskinz, or Dwarfs, Swifthawk, Wanderers, Landsknect, etc should get a ban.
I'm sick of this toxicity and spam.

>>
>>98477949
Eh. They added Fimir to Total War just fine, the TT roleplaying game also has featured Fimir content in recent years.. Not that I think there's explosive demand for more Fimir out there, but pretending it's literally impossible for GW to do anything with them ever is overplaying your hand. They could. They didn't, but they could.
>>
>>98478121
>>
>>98478124
Still, I doubt GW want to entertain the possibility but if anything TOW will get them if they are permitted because they have so few modern sculpts to work with
>>
>>98478132
Got the warriors, the noble, and the mage that was finished but never released. Could be a decent addition to any range in either aos or tow.
I keep forgetting they weren't actually chaos in aos, but destruction.
>>
>>98478148
>I keep forgetting they weren't actually chaos in aos, but destruction.
That was most likely just a keyword technicality more than any real fluff development.

They didn't have any fluff outside of the abilities blurb and that was generic Fimir stuff
I can't imagine why because FW had a lot of chaos for sale too.
>>

>I can't imagine why
a lot of monstrous arcanum was dumped into destruction with little thought, I guess the connection of fimir with chaos just slipped past the rules writer

Man the Skaventide really should've just been in Azyr, the place is supposedly getting blown up next edition so would've been cool to see it now. Also would've fit the end of the Dawnbringer Crusades that they were both succesful but they'd completely forgotten about the home front which gets attacked by Skaven. Finally would've made the death company stormcast fit because it's a case of they're just sorta forcing them off the assembly line as quick as they can which leads to more reforging flaws.
