Issue with land colors is that fetches, shocks, and duals are simply MILES BETTER than any other 2c option. You ideally want to max out on these before even looking at any other 2c land choices to put into your deck. I've got a few decks in the cooker. This one I'm itching to reassemble after playing Brenard saga creatures/birthing pod. Last I built this deck was just before Final Fantasy, I want to say. The deck really came together in a confluence of synergies. It wasn't high-powered but it was very fun to pilot. Living weapons/coastal piracy effects/polymorph for the germ tokens made it a pretty unique experience.Since Final Fantasy's advent, there have been a good amount of living weapon-adjacent cards in the form of job select. So I'll be grabbing them. In-line with the polymorph theme, I'm going to add Descendants' Fury which means adding some high-curve phyrexians and heroes (read: Marvel slop). I'm curious if anyone has any suggestions for this sort of deck besides those. I usually do a pretty thorough search on scryfall, but equipment and artifacts have such a wide array of tags affiliated with them it's hard to catch everything.

Went to my first prerelease since theros beyond death 6 years ago (may have gone to duskmourn but I genuinely can't remember) went 2-1 pulled the 4 mana smaug in some sort of alt art, the green creature cost reducer and the white turn ender. Got like 1-2 other pretty decent cards. Had 40+ people there and people were dressed up in fantasy garb. They geave out a nice edition of the hobbit to the 1st person who killed the mythic red smaug with the black arrow. This happened in like the 1st 2 games lol. Ended up running gruul with mostly smaller aggressive cards doing the majority of the work. Got a lot of ramp/colorfixing stuff as well. Was able to play smaug in about half the games and the elf that had power and toughness equal to lands was clutch. Attercop's deathtouch was clutch as well. Possibly could have run black as well or golgari but was happy with how the games went. Prerelease probably is my favorite non commander format. Will say though I remember prerelease being lile $20, had to pay $45 for this one
