Question how much cp do you think jumper being
Traumatized or a persistent irritation that keeps on happening is worth.

I would be tempted to go 200 cp for the later because I figure like Chinese water torture it will go from being annoying to I am going to kill someone if it keeps happening. But I think 100 is fair if it not constantly happening.

Trauma I would be tempted to put at 300 cp. because it sucks, it really sucks and none of your perks will fix that. At best time, patience and friendship might fix that if you assume it not fiat backed that badly.

Also Spacebattles thinks shard anon lancer jump is awesome. I have no clue if shard anon would consider that good or bad.

>I have no clue if shard anon would consider that good or bad.
Depends on why they think it's good.
>>
>>98480659
They really love the perk Illegal shape and the perk that makes you a raid boss.
>>
>>98480987
Which of the SBers? Is cliff among them?
>>
>>98480289
I'm 99% sure I explicitly mentioned Throne World phylactery stuff doesn't count as death, but just to be sure I'm saying right here it does not. From the moment of the jump's creation it was intended to confer weird tricks like the Hive hiding their deaths in each other or the Witness stowing it's constituents in a Darkness pocket dimension.

>>98480637
>I have no clue if shard anon would consider that good or bad.
I am indifferent to the opinions of the other communities, as long as they don't disrupt the fun I'm having here good for them I guess. I don't make jumps to their standards or agree with theirs but if they don't bother me and the drive here, I have no reason to be bothered about them.

Except the Discord. I'll be real, some people here have a chip on their shoulder about them, especially some of the more virtue signal-y newer people. But there's a couple jumpmakers who made stuff I enjoyed back in the day there, and I like people who make stuff I enjoy, so as I see it-they have their playground, we have ours, but I don't mind visiting now and then to stay in touch.

>>98480987
...I /do/ wonder what they think about how by RAW, the humble Caliban can just walk right up to an Eidolon and start blasting if it doesn't have a SPECIFIC paracausal power for negating traumatic force.
>>
>>98481031
I play lancer but I do not 100 understand what you mean.

I just know Caliban is basically a suit of power armor that can juggle a gundam. And the suit I should of picked for a grapple build instead of trying to make a Nelson do it.

I wonder what people make of Age of Krakota jump. I am going to disregard it potential for being cheesed by using it toggles to visit a massively safer setting. It gives you an absurd amount of freebies which I honestly think is a bit much.
The perks are op but considering the setting I am not sure they are that op. Like beyond omega level seems absurd until you realize this is a universe where Franklin exists.

>>
>>98482436
Yeah it op stuff. But in it defense it marvel. That setting got so many apocalypse, overpowered stuff, retcons going on, that Supernatural, anime, and exalted would take a step back and go you have issues.

Seriously Marvel is a setting where a random god deciding to beat you up does not come close to the top tier threats.
>>
>>98482415
>The perks are op but considering the setting I am not sure they are that op. Like beyond omega level seems absurd until you realize this is a universe where Franklin exists.
It doesn't matter what exists in the setting. What matters is what the main cast gets up to. Lots of settings involve God yet restrain themselves from offering omnipotence. SBers are pussies who would piss themselves in fear if they met any of this thread's regulars IRL, and we're not interested in hearing of their exploits or jumps.
>>
>>98482464
Let see the main cast of the seething includes magneto, apocalypse, Jean grey (who goes full phoenix force and kills a entity that exists outside time) Franklin Richard’s

Bad guys include sinister squad who dooms at least one timeline, Uranus a super eternal who solos Bascially all the mutants, domains who are kind of super ai gods, and nimrod.

The jump still overpowered, but I think if you included all the costs by a third it be balanced.
>>
>>98482415
jumps with unlimited stay extenders are a pet peeve of mine, even if I can accept a lot.
>>
>>98482572
Huh what wrong with unlimited stay extender?
>>
>>98482669
literal infinite cp for just staying in the setting
>but staying long in marvel is punishment enough
it's still something that can remove the "choice" aspect of the cyoa, it's overpowered and it's straight up boring (no real challenge, if I make a build that stays 1000990000 years you can bet I won't make a related amount of events, it's at best to interact with more storyline, meaning it's actually something I want, and generally it will be skipped by being in a pocket dimension or just ignored.
>>
>>98482680
Oh yeah that is a pretty fair point. I just assumed the time extender would stop giving cp after x amounts of purchases.

I guess in theory it balanced by being very time inefficient and time is money afterall. But it feels like there should be diminishing returns or a cap.

Do you like unlimited stay extenders that stop giving cp?
>>
>>98482695
Yeah, I meant unlimited in the sense with the cp given, I have no problem as long as there's a cap to how many they can give.

"Afterworlder: Rather than dealing with the dead, you are one of the dead instead! Are you a ghost, resembling either a human or a strange white blob with a visible brain and heart? A skeleton, a member of the chivalric kingdom serving the honourable Bone King? Or maybe you are a zombie, skilled warriors wielding swords and rifles like? There are also the spectres, blue-skinned, goggle wearing creatures, or the will-o’-the-wisp, phantom women dressed in white, as well as the mummies, masters of the desert!"

>Coco
"Skeleton: You are a human that has passed away"

>Grim Fandango
"Newly Departed: Well. That was unfortunate. Sorry to tell you this, but you're dead! But you're not alone! Everybody here is just as dead as you! That's why we call it the Land of the Dead. Are you ready for your big journey?"

>Casper the Friendly Ghost
"Like Casper and The Ghostly Trio, you are a ghost, and can no longer be counted among the living"

>The Sims 3
"Congratulations and welcome to (a) life of unlife"

There are. Numerous jumps.
NUMEROUS JUMPS.
SOME OF WHICH, GENERIC, WERE WRITTEN BEFORE YOU EVER EVEN /THOUGHT/ OF BECOMING THE PITIFUL EXCUSE FOR A JUMPMAKER YOU ARE.

In which you are allowed to be dead, dead, DEAAAAAAAAD by the setting's standards. Some of these jumps were made when QUICKSILVER WAS REGULARLY POSTING IN THREAD. He did NOT lift a FINGER to tell you that you COULD NOT BE A GHOST.

JUMPERS WERE ALWAYS ALLOWED TO EB FUCKING GHOSTS, SKELETONS, UNDEADDENS, and not just that but literally people unambiguously IN the afterlife.

YOU are the one getting uppity about rules like there was EVER some kind of ironclad bible, like they weren't ALL making shit up as they went along, and even if there were some generally agreed upon idea of what was acceptable and what wasn't

DENYING YOU THE NARRATIVE RELEVANCE OF INTERACTING WITH THE AFTERLIFE WAS NEVER ONE OF THOSE AGREEMENTS.
>>
>>98483365
You have nothing. NOTHING. To justify your shitty, shitty Mummy rules other than the fact that APPEAL TO AUTHORITY matters to you more than whether or not you wrote an enjoyable PDF. This is the end of anything resembling a coherent justification for your nonsene. The final and total destruction of you as anything except a snivelling, aberrant, pretentious little hypocrite with ZERO constructive advice worth listening to. If you care about community so much, go ask WoL Anon if people die when they killed, and if ghosts are dead.

The funny thing about this is that prior to you spending DAYS fighting me over your Mummy the Curse nonsense and whipping out your e-peen over Infernals 3e, I avoided interaction with DDanon far more consistently than you much as a man does not strive to win an argument with an ass. Because I thought there was a chance, however slim, you might have some insight. Well, guess fucking what?

>Ao in all likely will kick you out of the Crystal Sphere or worse if you arrive there as a god. My Jump making philosophy is that things interact, and that handwavium should only be used in the most extreme cases like in Mass Effect where everything about Eezo is questionable. Some people don't like this interpretation, and I don't care because those same people wouldn't mind if only the positive aspects of inter-Jump interactions happened.

This? THIS is a more reasonable fucking justification for getting rid of Divine Ranks than anything YOU'VE said to defend Sekhemgate. It's an actually UNDERSTANDABLE position that MAKES SENSE and is CONSISTENT with the jump's design philosophy regardless of the jumpmaker's other behaviour.

I don't even agree with it! I would be ALL FOR bringing the negative as well as the positive interactions for anything short of (apparent) CERTAIN sudden death drop like in Kunitsu-Gami.
>>
>>98483396
HOWEVER, I RECOGNISE the jumpmaker is probably right in that he probably would get some nagging for the good shit only. This among other things is why I haven't bothered laying into the jump. At a strictly mechanical level I didn't see much to complain about. Class descriptions could use more example of what they could do but virtually anything could be better. I COULD have laid into levels being CP buy-capped, but to my utter surprise someone just asked him why that was a thing and he changed his mind on the fly. I did have any hope that would happen, but it did, so it's no longer there to criticise. Even if the idea he considered THAT an argument is baffling, AT LEAST HE BOTHERED TO IMPROVE HIS OWN WORK.

That is more than I can say for you wasting hours defending your bullshit.

WELL DONE, you've SURPASSED our old village idiot and now I've prove every word written at you might as well have been spent on farting noises for how little point there was, you can FUCK RIGHT OFF from ever having a say in my jumps again. If reincarnation is real, I will CONTINUE making jumps without ANY regard for your dogshit rules in my next iteration.

I WILL GENERATE AS MANY GHOSTS AS I WANT.
>>
>>98483396
>I don't even agree with it!
To be clear I actually fully agree with the idea that things interact in jumps, I specifically disagree with the particular solution and think you should take on the risk as well as the reward of godhood the same way that, for example, Vecna has consistently surmounted THOSE skill issues.
>>
>>98483396
Was someone claiming that origins that start you having dead was not allowed.

Because the only thing I recall were people claiming death in the jump tends to prevent you from moving on even if your perks means it not a big deal. I died but I am in the afterlife generally does not let you move along in the chain unless you started the jump in the afterlife.
>>
>>98483365
All of those start you out as a dead thing and (presumably) end your chain if you get even deader than that.

But would it shut you up I removed the language about death for sure counting as death and added this to the notes:
>Does getting your body damaged to the point your soul is ejected from it or running out of the supernatural energy that keeps you animate instead of a corpse count as death to Jump-chan? Good question. Certainly, the books refer to the process as "death" dozens of times, and the reverse as "resurrection." The process involves your body becoming a corpse and your soul being cast out to the afterlife. The only ways to reverse things and return to your state as a walking corpse all revolve around external factors over which you have no direct control. You'll have to decide on your own if or when Jump-chan would consider that pattern of facts to constitute "death" for a chain fail condition. Know only that if you decide it's not, I'll be silently judging you.

This would have been so much easier if you had just admitted to disliking that part instead of the distraction about Sothic Turns, which I'm keeping in because it's either worthless anyway if you can restart a Descent whenever or vital for keeping powers if you rule you can't do that.
>>
>>98483414
Generic was using that as his argument for why the Mummy the Curse jump has a built-in death condition using a resource called Sekhem that he has not yet confirmed he views as the same as ordinary vitality because he's a lazy piece of shit who couldn't properly balance a METRONOME.
>>
>>98483447
>all of those start you out as a dead thing
>presumably
One final goalpost shove for the books. First you argued death=death, now you make up new rules just to pat yourself on the back like always.

>Sothic Turns
Don't put words in my mouth. The problems are fundamentally connected.

>Know only that if you decide it's not, I'll be silently judging you
I don't actually care what you do when you're too insecure to admit you were wrong all along. As I was fully aware from the beginning, we are the only two who care about this bullshit. Except maybe Argent. Who if he does, evidently doesn't enough to contribute.

Change it. Don't. I don't care, if you're completely closeminded to the idea you could ever make a mistake there's no point. I am simply satisfied you have definitively proven you are a total failure as a jumpmaker.
>>
>>98483476
Okay I missed most of the augument. But I do not really consider this a goal post shove as more how jumpchain generally worked. You die as part of the backstory that fine because by definition you did not die in jump. You die but perk/jump test says the death does not count your fine,

But their many jumps that note that something that lets you come back from death does not save your chain because you died in the first place.
>>
>>98483527
>You die but perk/jump test says the death does not count your fine,
There are jumps that let you be a ghost, a zombie, or a mummy in a way that is unambiguously dead. Imagine if one of those jumps said if you ever run out of mana your chain ends. That is what he has fundamentally done.
>>
>>98483531
How many of those don't (implicitly or explicitly) come with the understanding that having your ectoplasmic/undead body destroyed is the equivalent of biological death for chain fail purposes?
>>
What your opinion on how a run of the mill exalted human would react to being romanced by an infernal exalted. Like being given flowers, serenaded, given precious gifts and invited to dates in wonderful vista.

I think the answer might be some combo of terrified horrified and also attracted and glad to not be dirt poor.
>>
>>98483667
Regular mortals don't really understand shit. Like, they know Hell is bad at some level because the dragons say so. And demons often do bad shit. But demons are the same kind of beings as their local gods, and often are at the head of cults everywhere granting boons in exchange of prayers.
They probably don't understand anything about non-Dragonblooded Exalts besides the dragons saying that they are bad. With super-charisma, chances are that you get over that rather quickly.
Also, keep in mind that most mortals are basically just fantasy peasants.
>>
>>98483667
these are superstitious medieval peasants anon, they'd just think it's some sort of spirit or fey, they have no meaningful concept of anything else except dragonblooded and anathema and it doesn't seem to be either of those
>>
>>98483667
fear, but also an erection
>>
>>98483667
It's like fucking a rockstar back when metal was new. Exhilaration, the thrill of the forbidden, the cloying sensation that you're being claimed in ways you didn't even know were possible, and the sensation of being torn apart from the inside by cosmic power and loving every minute.

That's foreplay, by the way. Golden Years Tarnished Black does not fuck around with bestowing trauma.
>>
>>98483755
Pretty sure all other Exalts that aren't dragonblooded are grouped into Anathema. They don't distinguish between Solar, Lunar and flavors of Solars.
>>
>>98483828
only lunars and solars are strict anathema, and abyssals get grandfathered in because they have the same evil symbols on their heads as solars

infernals don't count for similar reasons sidereals don't count, they don't have a giant bible talking about how evil their forehead symbols are
>>
>>98483847
Aren't the Solar caste symbols also associated with UCS who is still worshipped Creation-wide?
>>
>>98483945
generally no, at least if you count mortal humans, though there might be some minor holdouts in the far corners of the world, and gods obviously all know about it though gods are a different topic entirely
>>
>>98483828
Hilariously, in 3e Exigents aren't classified as Anathema by the Immaculate Faith despite being a known quantity. Explicitly. Despite how few limits there are on what an Exigent can be like.

Sovereigns have a lot of Solar-like traits but because they're not GOLDEN when they shine, command awe and instantiate miracles through their sheer magnificence, Shikari Joe just nods in approval and moves along.
>>
>>98483972
3e is full of retarded shit, it's what happens when people who don't understand a work inexpretly fingerpaint over it
>>
>>98483984
So it like Star Wars Disney movies, dragon age 4, prototype 2, halo 343 era ect. Everything great is ruined with time.

>>98483964
Which puts a picture of mortals freaking out only for the local god to show up and say it okay.
>>98483972
to play devil advocate, the fact they are one off might help. They just cannot disrupt things as much as 300 solars. I am also not sure how hard things are hit by great curse.

>>98483809
Oh yeah so it like fucking a dragon.
>>
>>98483972
You know how they made it so, instead of it being automated by the exaltation itself, in 3e the unconquered sun always comes down to a new solar to personally exalt them? He still does that even if he was genuinely and permanently killed in your campaign, just because the writer was mentally constipated by that image. Hilarious, right?
>>
>>98484078
>the fact they are one off might help
Nope. Sovereigns SPECIFICALLY are one of the types of Exigents that reoccur regularly due to having a magic bath made of a dead Incarna to keep choosing them.

>>98483984
It's even worse, Holdenmorke did actually understand the work. They just chose to smear their autism all over it anyway because it felt good to. And after laying terrible foundations for the game, the line developer told the other writers they weren't allowed to fix it for $$$$$-saving purposes.

To be fair to Rich the Leech, even though he is a cheapskate with less artistic integrity than even Generic, mathematically speaking he is 100% correct that their retarded Discord fanbase are lonely and parasocial enough to dump enough of their life savings to regularly overshoot their backerkit campaigns

>>98484106
Oh yeah, I know that funny...THING that apparently exists because some players are deeply insecure about not being hugged by their sun daddy tightly enough. I didn't know it was confirmed the Sun can keep doing that explicitly if destroyed, though. Truly, Perfection Beyond Imagining is what it says.

One must imagine this implies all the Exaltation sponsors are like this given 3e's tendency to just handwave things, which technically means the Yozis have immortalised themselves from future fetich death. H-hooray??
>>
>>98484106
So this, plus nerfing mortals while claiming to buff them.

>>98484116
Speaking of Yozi while I think this is more a two e things. Let's not pretend these were ever based. They were all subversive, proto-woke garbage.

>Halo
This at least was a based crypto-fascist setting before the foids, troons, and niggers got their hands on it.
>>
>>98485223
I feel like you’re partly right and missing the point entirely. Yes they were woke, and I a firm believer that woke is a scapegoat and real issue with modern media is a mix of dysfunctional capitalism worthy of a cyperpunk mess, lack of artistic talent, something clearly gone wrong with writer room and they do not understand the media they are based on. Fanfic artists often are so much better at it, through they do only work if you forgot about most of them that are bad at it and just pick the top ten percent.

Firefly might have been lucky to be canceled, they did not have to rot like so many other shows.

Also prototype really does not belong in the woke club. I guess the female character is somewhat important, but the Mc kills their kind of ex girlfriend, has the broody dark personality and can do so much black comedy. I guess woke can do that too, but not really seeing the woke part of the game. Second game does woke badly with it angry black man
>>
>>98486343
he's retarded just for bringing up an imprecise blanket complaint when we were already discussing the issue with more nuance than that
>>
>>98484488
>What do you think would happen if infernal exalted kept of inventing charms based on things like compassion, understanding other perspectives and being a beneviolet ruler to Yozi.

https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?202456-Exalted-Gensh-makes-Charms-in-no-particular-order!

Check out the Charms under "Malfeas Post" over here for how I'd think it would go. Realistically and without Holdenmorke-level asspulls or going in with enough power to match one, the Yozis are far too wrapped up in their torment and hate to be made squeaky clean just from the relative drop in the bucket. Think about it like this: Not only are Yozis fully capable of making their own Charms, but there is one example of a Cecelyne Charm that Cecelyne herself might actually REJECT from personal distaste. There is a very real risk the Yozis might fight back against being made friendlier if it's too overt. What you COULD do instead is play into their inherent themes and values, just like how Compass: Malfeas suggests lost Solars can pander to the Yozis' largesse and grandeur by petitioning Malfeas in his capacity as the original king, appealing to Cecelyne as the local legal authority and so on and so forth. Like many megalomaniacs, it's probably a lot easier to change the Yozis by getting them to think it was their idea all along.
>>
>>98486561
Yeah others have agreed with you. It a fun concept having the primordial reforming more than Darth Vader did but not likey to happen. It a shame.
>>
>>98486343
>>98486398
>Also prototype really does not belong in the woke club.
The central premise of the game is that a non-human (usually a stand-in for non-Whites) who literally kills hundreds of people can be not just as good as but a better person than actual humans (usually a stand-in for Whites). Even though Alex isn't literally black, it's not hard to see him as a metaphor for a black repeat felon who has killed multiple people being a better person than the White doctors, scientists, police, engineers, laborers, farmers, etc. that actually contribute to society.
>>
>>98486903
Okay non humans being usually stand in for black people is statement I second guess. Because I do not think elves, dwarfs, green man from mars are a metaphor for black peoples.

As for criminal, well yes, he is a new born viral abomination who was greeted with violence.

As for better than a person. Alex is shown as a fairly flawed person who takes a while to resolve to do the right thing but he not the most moral figure around. The scientist who cures him and Dana are shown as the major people pushing him to good. Bradly Ragland I think is white but not sure because of faint memories and the lighting on the pictures I look up.

Would it be crazy to have the first age exalted increase the cp given for not being a solar, and especially for being a dragon blooded

On one hand the power gap between solar and dragonblood is absolutely on par with a capstone, on the other end their many ways to be a solar. In jumpchain.
>>
Shard anon, does solar exalted jump remove the great curse condition apply to great curse picked up from the first age.

Aka does it make sense to go first age into solar exalted for a guaranteed great curse removal?

Also looking at the drawback section. Man you did not pull punches on 100 cp perks. They are perfectly in theme but man they look under valued to me. 100 cp seems like a little price for such a high risk of trauma or a chain fail

Glorious solar supremacy is both massively in character and just asking for tears,

Inconvenient obsession is just asking to end with rock fall so many people die.

Deus drinking buddy is what if my OCD nightmares are real. I guess an evil jumper loses nothing, but I see a good jumper starting their next jump vomiting repeatedly.

Demoted, dismissed downplayed however is practically a breath of fresh air. I mean if you want to be the one who scrubs the toilet in exalted, it perfect. Which might be a smart idea because being beneath notice here might pay off, granted it does not always work out for the mortals

Ego of glass sounds like hell. I would want more than 100 cp for how unpleasant it be to be as insecure. Spiteful yet entitled as Joffery. But focusing on revenge plans in exalted seems like a great way to get a golden fist to the face and chain ended.

Just looking through the drawback list, and I am thinking the extra cp is no way worth it.

Heck you put a scaling enemy In there for 200 cp. it is better designed scaling enemy than normal because you got some advantages on it. But still maybe this sb talking but I thought scaling enemies were the drawback no one took for 600 cp?

The fight a 12 legged drawback is however fun and perfectly in character for solar exalted. I am going to assume jumpchain handwaves the ethical implications of all those who died in collateral damage.

The drawbacks all look freaking awesome and yet scary if they were double the cp.
>>
>>98488287
Not Shard but to put in my 2 cents:
>Shard anon, does solar exalted jump remove the great curse condition apply to great curse picked up from the first age.
Fanwank. The jump was made by someone else so there's no clear ruling on that.
>Aka does it make sense to go first age into solar exalted for a guaranteed great curse removal?
See above
>Also looking at the drawback section. Man you did not pull punches on 100 cp perks. They are perfectly in theme but man they look under valued to me. 100 cp seems like a little price for such a high risk of trauma or a chain fail
As far as I am concerned after all the stuff you get with your initial budget you should have more than enough to back up some hubris or have try out some dumb ideas. That's mostly just stuff a demigod in the first age was dealing with and if you want more you gotta bled for them a bit. Don't take it if you don't want to deal with them.
>Glorious solar supremacy is both massively in character and just asking for tears
All that Cosmic power availabe to Exalts makes this a pretty common occurence among them. Don't take it if you don't want it.
>Inconvenient obsession is just asking to end with rock fall so many people die.
With a full Deliberative governing Creation there's more than enough spare personnel to deal with most world shaking incidents. Also it's only an idea, there's no guarantee you would even come close to realising it and not end up as another visionary with a half-assed WiP stuck under a mountain of paperwork petitioning Yu-Shan for the right geomancy permits and more budget. Don't take it if you don't want it.
>Deus drinking buddy is what if my OCD nightmares are real. I guess an evil jumper loses nothing, but I see a good jumper starting their next jump vomiting repeatedly.
It's not like you are forced to live out the inner desires granted by the drawback, you can just try to repress them if you dislike them. Don't take it if you don't want it.

>Ego of glass sounds like hell. I would want more than 100 cp for how unpleasant it be to be as insecure. Spiteful yet entitled as Joffery. But focusing on revenge plans in exalted seems like a great way to get a golden fist to the face and chain ended.
You may be extemely petty and thin-skinned but your sense of judgement still works sufficiently to tell you if you should back down even it you have every minute of it. Also the rule of law still applies mostly in the First Age, at least for Exalts, gods and other beings that somewhat matter. Revenge may very well come in the form of tripple the paperwork or social humiliation and going to far would more likely end up with you in jail with a broken nose.
It's a full circle of celestial exalts with around average power expected for such people in the first age, I am pretty certain none of them are scaling to you.
>The fight a 12 legged drawback is however fun and perfectly in character for solar exalted. I am going to assume jumpchain handwaves the ethical implications of all those who died in collateral damage.
The ethical implication are yours to carry, even if Nara-O decides to keep your guilt as possible blackmail for later. Although the average Exalt would focus more on the broken infrastructure rather than humans lives lost.
>The drawbacks all look freaking awesome and yet scary if they were double the cp.
You can be a legendary Solar with your initial budget and still have 200CP to spare for more perks.

The CP difference between being a DB and being a Solar is the same as the cost of the perk that gives you a Yozi's charms which more or less puts you in parity with Solars. Or you could grab some absolute bullshit like sidereal martial arts or Solar perks which put ordinary Solars to shame. Basically your access to perks from TFA document alone can put you above all other exalts regardless of your type even before accounting how absolutely ludicrously generous the doc is with points from drawbacks. You can get thousands of CP just taking drawbacks that aren't even targeted on you.

I usually like being a DB in jumps that give you a choice of exalt type since it's something I can pass on and their perk trees tend to have shit that enhance and synergize with breeding.

Holy cow pragmata, I have the game sitting in my steam library and need to play it.

What if you charged cp for post jump great curse removal so it not free. Just like 200/400 cp fee to get the great curse removed post jump. You do have the solar capstone for this, but making solar only have the great curse cure is very otb.

I do not think the issue is people want free stuff, I think the issue is people are terrified of the great curse. We are totally talking past eachother, because partly we are talking about something that really based on gm interpretation

Like people do not really need free great curse removal, they just need great curse removal that will not fuck up utterly their builds to get. Is that a good compromise.

Because as I noted in the last posts of the previous thread, I really think we are talking past each other. Where we both sides got pile of evidence for great curse is easy to deal with and no big deal. 200 cp would perfectly cancel out the bonus cp you get from being a dragonblooded or fresh exalted. Making it ironically free like we were trying to avoid.

I would also be very happy is unknown armies adapt got a 200 cost option increase to lose the law of obsession post jump.

I can live with paying cp for the result. I just need a practical fiat backed great curse removal option. . Seems like this is the option that makes everyone happy.

>>98490734
Yeah they’re just as bitchy, I am sure because humans focus on negative. I think we spent made a big fucking error, not trying to do the compromise earlier of having the post jump great curse removal cost cp. because we do not actually need free shit, we need shit that will not break our cp bank

>>98491002
Yeah good point, and we have solar exalted for this. Only issue I see is great curse counter is in the solar capstone, and such I would lose almost all the cp I save from being a dragon blood trying to fit it in.

Yeah I am not making the case that solar exalted do not have pretty darn good odds of living through being hubris.

Through at the same point, if they be so well off taking no drawbacks, why would they take drawbacks. I think some the traps need just a little more bait. So jumpers are going this would get me a cool perk and than go what was I thinking everything is one fire.

Like to be clear I think the drawbacks are a great idea, and I do think they are as nasty as they should be, just they need a little more bait to really tempt jumpers into hubris.>>98491224

We also run into the issue that we all have different perspectives on what jumpchain is meant to be.

Like DDanon, I get the impression you do not follow quicksliver original rules about power stacking. and I see jumpchain community as a whole generally agreeing that is a good idea.
>>
>>98491810
Don't assume the retardation of SBitches is universal to the hobby.
>>
>>98491810
>I feel like this is like saying dnd/rpg with house rules is not dnd
It isn't, and I have argued that several times, in fact.
>INB4 your D&D + BoEF fantasy Jump doesn't count then
I am a horny retard that needs motivation, and horny retard shit motivates me. In any case, I split the Jump into a pure lore and BoEF OGL edition. There's not enough content in the BoEF for its own Jump, I had to make a compromise somehow.

My position insofar as the rules go is that repetition makes legitimacy. No one strictly does what Quicksilver put forth evidenced by the fact everyone uses Jumps deviating from his formating in the strictest sense. I don't expect anyone to read the "How to" folder / rules on the main drive unless they're actually making a Jump. That then means whatever people read on-document / in-Jump is the only thing they can reasonably go by. I have my own points of deviation such as believing companions being used too flippantly and given too many points (depending on the writing and setting of the Jump). We're not in complete agreeance or disagreement on the rules, but I have always come from a position that Jumps should try to be made in a way that makes them sustainable for the hobby. Like, I don't assume you automatically get an altform for a race if it isn't stated. I often roll under the assumption it just becomes a sort of ever-present power when you pick a different one. That's why I always clarify in my Jumps races become altforms. I assume most people don't assume that when it comes to Jump.

I would say this is wrong. Most people would assume new races are alt-forms unless specified otherwise. It's also in-line with how Quicksilver approached it:

>assuming perks that made you a different race gave you an altform
https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/39261990/#39267690

>linking plebs
You're missing what I said. If you introduced someone new to this hobby they have no reason to think any of that because it isn't stated in-Jump. It can exist, but unless you see it stated again and again, it doesn't have legitimacy. Quicksilver said a great many things, but we've deviated from it because it's not explicitly stated. Podding and only have 8 companions, for example. That's why consistent basic formating is so important, and why floating perks and 3 origin perk and item lines piss me off so much. I can recognize things have gotten worse, the goal is to stop them from getting even worse.
>>
>>98492001
>only have 8 companions
From the rules written by Quicksilver himself and linked at the top of every thread (thus satisfying your desire for repetition):
>You can have an infinite number of Companions, but only eight can be active at any time. The others are basically stored in a dimension where time is stopped. You can swap you these eight at any point in your COSMIC WAREHOUSE.
>>
>>98492030
>thus satisfying your desire for repetition
You're being obtuse, that's not what I said. It has to be in-Jump, not a part of the OP. Anything in the Pokemon Jump has more legitimacy than anything in the OP. You have to operate under the assumption that nothing else but the Jumps themselves exist. Every other link or thing you have to interact with outside of the main delegitimizes that content due to statistical lack of engagement. This is something I had to explain to 9anon, and why he started linking the 4+4 archive in thread OPs. Even still, it still needs said as much as possible each Jump for legitimacy.

We will not agree on this, and that's fine.
>>
>>98492117
>It has to be in-Jump, not a part of the OP. Anything in the Pokemon Jump has more legitimacy than anything in the OP. Anyone in the 4chan/4+4chan branch of the hobby has no excuse for not familiarizing themselves with the official Rules linked at the top of literally every thread for more than a decade. It goes without saying that anyone coming to the hobby from elsewhere is insignificant and can get fucked.

Majestic Radiant Presence is a crazy good perk you'll want regardless of your exalt type, not for the great curse but for the rapid and limitless growth.

The thing about the great curse is that it's a massive nothingburger. Creation prospered for thousands of years under Solar rule before things got to the point that the Usurpation happened. In the second age things are fucked but not because the DBs that are in power are afflicted by the great curse. The ravages of recent apocalypses like the Great Contagion and the Balorian Crusade have not yet healed and the returning Solars and all the impending apocalypses are making a mess of thing.

The only reason the great curse did not get resolved by the exalts in the first place is because it's so subtle they didn't even realize it's there. Narratively the purpose of the great curse is to add depth to your character, you (the writer) have great control in how it manifests. It's like people here forget that they are not the jumper, they are the author writing the story of jumper. If anything devices that make the story more interesting should be welcomed.

If you mean here, they banned me for a month, and that's over. If you mean 4+4, I ban evaded over 100 times while spamming an image as protest for 9anon trying to make me eat a 24 hour ban.

Long version: Debating some anon > 9anon 24 hours me > I go to sleep > the arguing is done, I'm posting regularly > 9anon reups the 24 hour ban despite me not arguing at this point > an anon comes to this thread saying they got perma'd for having an argument > i repeatedly ban evade telling 9anon that if he's unbanning IPs for spamming CP, no permanent ban is justified > we fight for awhile > anon gets unperma'd > i eat the ban > then two anons said they were glad the old rules and anons were mostly gone > no one but me even pushed back against it > i crash out and ban evade over a 100 times because if they're not going to defend the hobby, what the fuck is the point of my being there or caring what they think

What you are describing is literally seeking external validation. Dress it up however you want, but a true single player imagination game does not need you to "future proof" it, and trying to enforce your standards onto others is encouraging the validation seeking behavior you claim to hate. Tbh the main reason I don't agree and scrutinise what you do write is that in a time so far back I doubt anyone here remembers it, you defended the implementation of 25 CP/75 CP perks and items in the original version of your Dragon's Dogma jump to me.

I myself remember little else about that argument except a certitude not to trust an opinion like that.

I'd have explained why I think auto-Curse removal is pussy shit that nullifies a nature danger which doesn't automatically obliterate you on par with automatic psychic ability protection in Pokemon, listened to counterarguments, and if someone had hit me with one better than "I really want free shit okay" I'd have changed it.

God's truth. If I thought it'd improve the jump, I'd have just done it.
>>
>>98492675
When this hobby consists of you talking to yourself and ranting about rules you enforce on yourself, what kind of future are you really preparing for here? Jumpchain is a single player game. You can try to deny it as much as you want, but no one else is playing the game that you are playing here, especially when your game consists of coming on here to seek social validation from a dwindling group of maybe less than fifty people at most. The current state doesn't have anything to do with whether people listened to you or not, it has to do with Jumpchain being a dead hobby on a board that has been on life support for the past decade. You would have gotten more traction with your future proofing if you took your idea of Jumpchain and made your own community with it, then built that community. Instead you're here trying to keep this community alive so you have someone to engage with online. Let's be realistic here, if you weren't so dependent on social validation, you could have already done most of the things you claimed to do with the years you had.
>>
>>98492726

What is even the kindred of east asides from Asian vampires.

Also how do you handle world of darkness cosmology being about as internally consistent as Disney Star Wars. My main guess is to assume the christan god broke into the wyrm, wyld, and weaver.

And I should get my finances in order, so I could just bribe you. Or get rich enough to be CW and threaten more sequals of supernatural whenever I do not get my way. :).

Thanks for noting I am more logical than generic anon even if we are not.

Wait I am confused, are you saying automatic psychic protection in pokemon would be a good thing or bad thing. I am inclined to say bad thing because that makes the most sense to me. You only need psychic protection in jump if their large scale mind rape going on. And also the large scale mind rape cannot be resisted via willpower or otherwise avoided.

No clue how shard would handle it.

But personally I would make make two jumps if I had what it took to make jumps. Still working on that.

One jump that focuses on the street level stuff and includes some protection from top tier stuff. Something that can be summed up as local gods and equivalents will not screw you over if you do not provoke them beyond minding your own business.

And another jump that throws you into the cosmic power pool

Looks at how part of my post got caught off.

What I meant is thanks for noting I am more logical than generic anon, even if we are not on remotely the same page perspective wise.

>Sadly I have none.
If I was going to have a song for a jumper, I'd make it myself because I like music. Played around with some slop for a while back to get some jump-specific themes rather than an overall chain/jumper specific track. Say what you will, AI's at least somewhat good at manifesting ideas one wouldn't wanna spend money on commissions for. It takes entirely too many hammers to an anvil to roll a sound that fits but the wild swings mean it has a pretty high chance of landing pretty dead on a good one when you finally roll it. Kinda like Wheel of Fortune but without the gameshow.

>you defended the implementation of 25 CP/75
I defended a great many things because nobody back then really knew what a Jump was. It's now been a decade, and we way before now knew what Jumpchain needs to be to be sustained. I remade my Jumps, I improved. You're holding that against me is not a shortcoming of me, Shard, it is a shortcoming of you.

A standard is a standard is a standard, as opposed to letting people do whatever they want.
>Jumpchain is a single player game.
A thing is a thing is a thing. What a thing is makes it what that thing is. When you do something else, you're not doing the thing. Jumpchain is a series of things constructed by people. Just because you're doing it by yourself doesn't mean you can do whatever you want while still doing Jumpchain.
>The current state doesn't have anything to do with whether people listened to you or not
Everything this hobby currently is exists as it is because nobody listened to me. Arguably more importantly, even basic rules set forth by Quicksilver people couldn't follow.
>your own community with it
This is my community. I was here before you, and I'll be here after you. Just because you're also retarded doesn't make this not the case.
>you could have already done most of the things you claimed to do
I am not Jumpchain, you are not Jumpchain. Jumpchain is Jumpchain. I did my part in telling you, at great length and depth, why what needs to be done, and it wasn't. I am not a break in case of emergency button. I am not completely restructuring the Drive for ungrateful assholes. Same reason I'm not making an Overlord Jump. Same reason I'm not updating Demon King Daimao. Same reason I will only and ever continue to make what I want. Just because I care doesn't mean doing what some negging prick wants.

While in favor of people getting the chance of improve.

I actually do not think this is a mistake. What makes jumpchain jumpchain is in my eyes it cross compatibility.

You can go from any jumpchain to any other jumpchain in whatever order you want within reason. 1000 cp except for gauntlets. orgin concept, body mod are also strong aspects.

But I do not think perk pricing details is that important. It just needs to be high enough to be not hand you everything for cheap, and low enough that you can afford to get stuff.

>Also why is Captcha being Ass?
To incentivize you into giving Hiro money so that you don't need to enter captchas anymore.
