If there is one thing commander nailed was people really really REALLY like having a deck leader in their card game and other newer tcgs are having success with the same gimmick.>One Piece has deck leaders>massive success>Gundam, another Bandai tcg, didn't have a deck leader>flop>Naruto, next Bandai tcg, already confirmed to have deck leaders>Riftbound has deck leaders>has been successful so far
>>98482876so why did concord fail then? CHECKMATE CHUD
>>98482876I've seen Yugioh fags speculating they'll bring back the Deckmaster thing from the cartoon to revive interest.>>98482890Did concord have a card game? I must have missed that, it'd be really funny.
>>98482894What makes him a pedo?
>>98482904Yugioh had a leader format that was supposed to come out years ago but never did. Every other format on the document happened except for Deck Master.Konami likely cancelled it because of how much of an unbalanced mess it would be. Yugioh is NOT set up to have a commander. They'd likely have to introduce brand new cards specifically made to be Deck Leaders to make it function.

They'd likely have to introduce brand new cards specifically made to be Deck Leaders to make it function.Plus the whole thing where you have to put your soul in your favorite card. That sounds like a hassle.>>98482962No he's pretty open about it, but I gather by your defensive stance that you're not actually having a discussion but just upset because something you like is being criticized so I suppose we can leave it at that!

>>98482778But there's a ton of trees that lack green on Lorwyn. Just from the top of my head you have Indomitable Ancients, Black Poplar Shaman and Fendeep Summoner. A non green treefolk is entirely plausible and the card's effect is not particularly green either.
why the focus on cat climing ranks? is it because it's UB? Is it because it took 10 years of powercreep to bypass the design mistakes of cmd17?
>>98483029a Japanese anime waifu becoming the #1 card in all of Magic the Gathering is just kind of a funny development I thinkvarious people feel various ways about it and etc
>>98483029>is it because it's UB?partly yes, but also because she's a cute cat-eared waifu>Is it because it took 10 years of powercreep to bypass the design mistakes of cmd17?kinnan is a cedh pillar but is only #58 because he's a fucking mongoloid
wizard staff would double both the +1 and copy parts of lucea kane right
What's the best way to proxy cards in Europe? I want to fill out my Miku deck with multiple variants so I need around 100 extra cards for different types and themes, hopefully without being gouged. Also, will people be mad if I use custom cards if I've spent real money on other stuff? Like custom Miku proxies of real cards alongside my own real Miku cards? Should I therefore proxy things twice, one with Miku art and other with traditional art?>>98483037I didn't care about Magic product until Miku. I played arena but I didn't own physical cards. I've played a lot of arena, mostly limited but I've gone top 200 mythic multiple times. Never had to spent a single cent to enjoy MTG. but then Mikus SL came out and I bought that because I love Miku, then 2nd SL came out, bought that as well. Then the third lair arrived, it didn't have much value but the Elspeth was nice so I naturally ordered it as is my style.I voted with my wallet and it worked. I might actually, unironically play physical magic now a proper Miku deck is coming. Here is my favourite Miku song: https://youtu.be/Yq0zBXN1o2A
I fucking love looking at predh lists, they remind me of those old youtube deck tech videos.
>>98483056>the counter part yup, that's a triggered ability>the copy partI think not. Unless I'm misunderstanding, the copy ability, is a delayed triggered ability *of her activated ability*, not of Lucea Kane. for comparison, if she died or the staff was destroyed before you triggered it by casting an X spell, the delayed trigger would still go off.
>>98483063People will be mad if you slop out AI garbage or deliberately fuck with rules text, otherwise no one cares
>>98483063So I think I started at the end Amonkhet? That's went Arena came out so it took almost 10 years for WoTC to get any money out of me. I think this is why UB is so successful, you can proxy product but I wouldn't want to proxy Miku
>>98483063etsy/chinks or some regional proxy maker. You can of course use american ones but consider that depending on size you will take time to arrive (but so will the SLD lol). As to people getting mad its just the general stance on proxies, as long as its not weird art (like idk, the regional miku fan variants with double G tits) people would be generally ok
>>98483063btw, this is exactly the type of player WotC is pandering to via UB

>>98483076Why did Magic fail where WH40K succeeded as a franchise?
>>98483116warhammer was unashamedly retarded
>>98483116It had a far more original idea. MTG is just "Temu Tolkien"
>Already in 4% of decks since it was releasedWhat will this number settle at?
>>98483174Better than tithe so like 30%
>>98483178ehhh I don't think it's better than tithe at most tables, maybe in cedh
>>98483076What's wrong with that? I'm probably better at magic than most players
>>98483180Getting one or two tapped treasure a round is way better than getting 10 untapped ones.In all seriousness this card is brutally overrated and not very great. The reason to run it is you are b2 and cannot run the vastly superior option.
>>98483182please understand they're trying to gatekeep you from soiling this beautiful piece of work and the vistas associated with it
>>98483190You really like this art
>>98483180It does have a lot of things going for it in terms of being better>only 2 mana>flies under the radar, nobody is going to blow up a 2 mana enchantment that doesnt affect them at all>you dont have to ask if they pay the 2, so they forget this exists>The perception of power is lower than tithe so you dont get hate for it>Can trigger itself, refund a treasure, and be good for politics and dealsOnce you play a Tithe, its either getting blown up, or you become archenemy. This gives you less treasures but you dont get any hate and pay half. I think it might be better sometimes.
>>98483186neither of the cards in question makes tapped tokens so idk what you mean by thatone's a 2drop and the other's a 4, so I think most decks that can fit Tithe can also fit SplendorSplendor can also activate to hose a Thoracle which isn't nothing but, again I just feel like that's another example of Splendor being way more dependent on the power level of the table to go offI could see it falling to $30also Tithe is fucking $60 now holy fuck what is wrong with you people??
>>98483197Mikokoro can hose a thoracle player and costs 0 mana. You will get one treasure out of this for 3 mana if you use the force draw feature. Doing this you have already spent more than tithe. It's shit but feel free to use it. It won't get blown up because it won't net you many treasures unless you run forced draw like howling mine. Tithe will always trigger every turn at least once because players have to draw that first card.
>>98483192Reminds him of his mother
>>98483190idk what people's problem with this art is, looks like a Trans It Mage to me
So they're fucking, right?
>>98483171I don't think tolkien tropes in edgy space is more original

>>98482916Don't engage with poltards my friend. They're retarded.
>>98483029Because it shows that Wizards are retards who don't know or don't care what the average player wants. For all their stupid "big brained" gimmick commanders supporting stupid deck archetypes sweaty autists think are clever and all their DEI art and all their attempts to make the game some gay pay to win ponzi scheme stock market, when a Commander featuring a cute character that's also very mechanically simple but so broadly strong and affordable that it can be built multiple ways with penny cards yet still have a chance of winning the game came along, players overwhelmingly chose to play it.It's the biggest Fuck You to Wizards players have given them in a long time. It's thousands of players rejecting all of Gavin and Maro's faggot nonsense. All hail the Goth Queen, Magic's savior.

>>98483266she cute
>>98483266Basically this. She hits the trifecta of card design. >cat girl waifu>not ugly as hell>extremely simple yet potent gameplayI also need to update this pic due to changing a few things. Unfortunately though, WOTC will completely ignore this and continue to make hideous art and gimmicky meme cards.
>>98483266>the biggest fuck-you to wizards is using their pushed slop commander #4 from the slop funk pop setI don't even mind UB but this is some ADVANCED cope anon
The Miku secret lair is perfect for me, I am an anime coomer and also I hate deckbuilding. Yeah, I'm thinking I am going to buy it.
>>98483354i wonder if its worth slotting in coveted jewel and kitten in mine for some lil storming but then again i got pushed into hard control shell since my table wouldn't let her stick unless they're in topdeck mode so it would involve slightly bigger rework
>>98482962>>98482971Shut the Hell up and stop shilling your stupid Youtube channel.
>>98483415>i got pushed into hard control shell since my table wouldn't let her stick unless they're in topdeck mode so it would involve slightly bigger reworkThat's exactly how I play her as well. Infect with hard control lets you slap them to death every time they try to touch you. I've even gotten instant kills off due to having enough counterspells to dump on their asses.
The Bloodborne cards arrived. This is half the collection, since I couldn't fit all into one frame and don't have enough sleeves for all of them yet.
It's D-Day, gentlemen.
>>98482876Yes, that's why any creature should be eligible as commander, legendary or not
>>98482941well yeah the rules of the format as described there don't sound very fun. the fanmade domain format that's literally commander but ygo seems more interesting
>>98482904>>98482941There's Domain but I haven't tried it. It's pretty jank though from reading it
I can't believe this is $.50 on tcgplayer already.I guess nobody plays monoR.
>>98483718If you're paying 4RR for a once-per-turn extra combat, then Moraug, Fury of Akoum is usually better. Having 12 power is a steeper ask than a Landfall trigger.

Not too surprising, considering. One guy way back said playing against the deck was a wake up call that his decks just weren't very good and he needed to put more effort into that aspect of the game. He's pretty pleasant to play with though he's unfortunately evolved into a CEDHfag.I guess I'm sort of known as the deckbuilding guy over there. A decent number of people show me their decks post-game and ask for my advice, so I'd like to think I'm doing something right. While I try to advise based on what's good/bad, it's also important not to dampen a player's fun when brewing. Like I'll point out x bulk rare that isn't the best that they've included, and tell them if they're running it for optimization's sake it should go. >>98484617They didn't have a "build to order" so it got bought out by scalpers instantly and was being flipped for like 500+ dollars.
>>98484617Goblin deck was a limited run, no print to order, and it was a tiny run at that. It sold out near immediately, and people proceeded to scalp it for like $600+ on ebay. The fact they acknowledged the fuck up in this deck's article seems to indicate they learned from that. It looks like they did a MASSIVE print to start, and they are taking print to order after that runs out (if it even does).Say what you want, but at least they seem to be intent on fucking scalpers going forward.

>>98484832Making your own proxies, per page is like 30 cents in materials. With 9 cards a page 3.3 cents a proxy. At least with my setupThat said, some times I'll just rather play for a proxy off Etsy or somewhere else if I like what they did just to save the massive headache that is cutting it. That's how annoying it is.

What is the rationale of limiting purchases for a print to demand product?
>>98484900Two reasons>printing it takes up space and time that could go to newer sets>limited = FOMO
>>98484779That's why you're walking away from the queue instead of complaining there's too many paypigs in the corral, right?

>Backorder: Estimated June 2027Meh, and with that my fomo is gone
>>98484285Do you have a whole deck with only old borders or something or do you just play a lot of old borders?
>>98484906I don't know, that sounds suspiciously jewish.>printing it takes up space and time that could go to newer setsNewer sets that are not 100% guaranteed to sell. Every print of the secret lair deck is already sold.>limited = FOMOI guess? It seems more like a 'guarantee' that the cards will be valuable on the secondary market rather than trying to entice players to buy something they were on the fence about. It seems like a pro-scalper move rather than a pro-consumer move, hence me calling it Jewish.
Did they reveal all the art for the miku deck? I've heard of people who proxy everything playing sets before they are released.
>>98484945You don't get to accuse other people of having aspergers when you base your identity around what cards you use in a corporate nerd card game. No one at the table cares, they're there to relax and have fun on their night off.
I'm gonna keep the box so I can proxy the expensive reprints
>>98484992Do people check if you have the real cards? I started making proxies of reserve list cards since nobody seems to check if you own the real cards at my lgs.
How many sets did they print for the first batch? 100?
>>98484968You're pretty much right. The reason they do it is to create a rabid consumer base. Once you zap them with "whoops sold out!" enough times, people become absolutely rabid about buying your products. >consumer sees item>they think "eh I kinda like it, but not that much">product disappears, and producer says it's never coming back>consumer has some regret>cycle repeats a few times until consumer is buck broken and will rabidly buy everything to avoid regretting missing a productIf you don't believe me, go look at reddit. There are people who literally buy multiple copies of every SLD, even if they don't like the set much, just to avoid "missing out".
>>98485007doubt it's 100 since I got mine 40 minutes after queue opened and it ships this August. I'd say 2000 at least
>>98485008Yes, I understand that but the whole point of a print-to-demand set is that it cannot sell out. Those same faggots on reddit would buy multiple copies of this deck and JotC would make a gorillion dollars while also fostering some 'goodwill'. I think the choice of limiting purchases per customer is a strange one no matter how you look at it.
The fact that Hasbro has not spent the time and money to invest in creating its own printing facilities near its biggest markets it's quite possibly one of the biggest and most retarded fumbles I've ever seen a billion dollar company make. The Pokemon company did it. Having your own printers gives you a tremendous amount of leeway and power over your product. Even if wizards of the Coast gets preferential treatment by other print companies for being such a big company, having your own printers would still Trump that. Finnegan this is a company that's pouring out it's a major IP like a street poor, so the longevity of magic the gathering it's not really something they care about.
>>98485007I got one at roughly 30 minutes in. It seems they lasted about 45 minutes, which is definitely more than the ~30 minutes goblin storm lasted.
>>98485027I'm out of the loop. I thought WOTC had the printers they use on total lock down out of fear of chink fakes figuring out their secret sauce (exact paper used, the inks, etc).
>>98485016>2000That's it?
>>98485027It's all about quarterly reports, buying or building a factory doesn't help with that goal.
>>98485036
>>98485038considering it lasted 40-50 minutes it's likely. people were given 10 minutes per sale and I doubt they let in more than a dozen poeple at a time to avoid flooding the serverit might be 2k per region since it ended first in the US
>>98485048I remember long ago how people said 3rd Ed was bad for having light inks and color variation, but this is just sad.
>>98485059>>98485048Good news for scammers. Selling counterfeits nowadays is easier than ever Or are you telling me that the green dot on the back is always perfect? Sell counterfeits of double faced cards then >The "t" in coast looks like this is a fake card, dude It's a misprint>Right, they constantly misprint everything nowadays, here's your moneyHehehehe
>>98485036No, it's about the people who run wizards being vampires. The Pokemon company almost never has supply issues. In fact they're building a brand new facility in preparation for more demand in the future. And in lulls they rent out their printing facilities to other companies. The only reason Hasbro has not done this is because Hasbro CEOs are the type that go from company to company pumping and dumping. They do not care about the longevity of IP.
>>98485036It's cheaper to just outsource printing. Therefore it's what they will always do.They could easily pay for it, and since WotC is their most profitable division by leaps and bounds they should, but can't be bothered.
>>98484934I can't wait for proxyfags to work on these faster than WotC and let me play Miku before the paypiggies. I bet you anything you probably already CAN get fakes of these that look exactly the same.
>>98485085That's a problem that I have with a Chinaman. I'm requesting certain cards and nobody cares if they aren't valuable enough. It's based on voting on cards that get requested. After enough votes from potential customers he adds it to his inventory and starts making those cards. Problem is that everyone is apparently trying to resell all those proxies and they don't vote on cards that are cheap. I don't get why he won't make cheap cards >inb4 just buy them if they're so cheap The card itself might be cheap, but I want 10 copies of it or however many and most people don't have that many and buying 1 cards ten times adds up. Shipping fees etc. And those "cheap" cards are suddenly more expensive than buying proxies in bulk.
>>98485131>The struggle is real trying to be a faggot out here bros, give me some sympathy.
>>98484978...Again, this is coming from a guy who wanted to show off a deck filled with chase prints to strangers on the internet.
>another banlist update without any commander changesWhy are they so fucking lame and boring?Unban Emrakul and Griselbrand!! Just do fun stuff and see how bad it would really be!It's so boring how they just never change anything anymore.
>>98485218gayvin said potential commander changes in a month
>>98485218What is the reason for Emrakul being banned anyway? All the other big eldrazi are allowed, and they all have annhilator and so on. Heck the newer Emrakuls also have her extra turn gimmick.
>>98485241>why is an uncounterable 15/15 that grants me an extra turn and has protection from colored spells and fucks over a player the next time it attacks banned?
>>98485241I mean it's just still way stronger than any other eldrazi and annihilator 6 arguably pushes it into automatic MLD territory, but that just means it should be restricted to bracket 4 instead of being completely banned.
>>98485218Unbans are gay. We should actually be banning more stuff, but WotC would never do that because it means they have less high-powered slop reprints to tease in sets.
Only Griselbrand and Channel should stay on the list. Unban everything else.
>>98485257Not true at all, commander is a casual game for retarded bullshit and it should never be balanced for the sake of comptroons.I'm not against bans for cards that just ruin the game like jeweled lotus, but the bar for not allowing a card in any bracket should definitely be higher than it is right now.
>>98485265are you guys hyped for the WoW set?
>>98485265Unban everything and reprint every card on the reserve list. Print on demand. How much does each card cost on the reserve list? 1 cent. There. I fixed commander.

>>98485267The more I think about it, the more a bracket system is a social translator for retards. I'm so upset that the Loki card is so expensive. I wanted to make a deck that just copied Yshtola a bunch.I dunno how your pods go but people always bitch about proxies of expensive cards when we play. It's not like I'm printing anything over a hundred bucks, I swear some of these faggots act like they work for wizards
>>98485395I mean unless it's a combo deck that heavily relies on tutoring specific pieces it doesn't really matter since you most likely won't see like 75%+ of your deck in a match anyway.
>>98485414It's probably more so that no one you're playing has any one card worth that much and proxying all the expensive, massively overpowered stuff for yourself makes your deck immediately much more powerful than everyone else's.Like proxying 4 Timewalks would be gay as fuck.
>>98485414I have 3 LGS near me, and one is strictly anti-proxy because some fatass threatened to try to get the store's WPN status revoked one time. I run basically nothing but chang's bootlegs, and I've never had an issue.

There's a Miku art wrath in the first batch packs. It's called Senbonzakura, it wasn't on the leaked deck because Sega insisted on adding it afterwards as a response to the leak. This is why the original batch was so small, there literally weren't enough of them. I think they also insist on changing it for the second batch? Dunno what but it's just to keep people interested. >>98485952Lmao if they did that it'll be another thousand dollar Miku card
>>98485961You are the ones whining about time wasting - and probably also time wasting trying to find play lines. I'm playing the game and not sitting there like a drooling retard trying to figure out what to tutor and what 2/3 card infinite you need.
>>98485952I wish this was true. The outrage would be supreme. Half the fun of SLs is the salt of people missing them.
>>98485952if only the first batch has that and the backorder batch doesn't I'll be pissed
>>98485952If this is true, my decision to buy a miku deck purely to flip it is paying off immensely
New thread. Migrate whenever you're ready.>>98486037>>98486037
>>98484825That sounds like bullshit.>Snapcaster mage mikuWhat the fuck, never heard of that before but it's real and now I believe this shit.
>>98484215>anon's running Baral? fuck off
>>98484413was lucky to get a minute que on my end to get it and the deck. speaking of, anyone have any experience with ultra pro apex sleeves? reviews on youtube seem to be sparse

>>98483826>12 power is great and all,Too small.
I don't play in pods where this is gonna be relevant. Price is 265ish now, think i should try and sell for 250 fast or will it creep up in price? I'd rather have a bunch of other cards instead
