NEW LEAK
>>98502789>TQHow we feeling about the new ork datasheets?
>>98502799You cheeky little punk lol
Going on a trip for a few days and wanted to at least get a start on my collage entry before then, so the Kommandos were put on hold for an evening. I actually got a lot more done than I thought given that I was trying some new formulas out and I think it's all working well. What's your WIP?
>>98502812Lethal hits on shootas is still retarded. I'm seeing lots of things that should be USRs but aren't for some reason even after 11th added more stuff to the USRs. We're still stuck with the retarded AoS formatting for datasheets which will always be inferior.
>>98502810come on dude everybody knows this shit is done on purpose as free advertising
>>98502823Love the bullets with the blue
>>98502810This leak is meaningless, it just confirms how retardedly limited the kit is and that it lacks half the weapons it should.
>>98502802It's hard to imagine anyone taking orks seriously as a villain faction when their biggest, baddest champion is a retard who needs a grot to do the thinking for him. Plus, he looks stupid. Gun hand and power klaw? Ork minis look so fucking atrocious and lame
>>98502799But my dreams told me that everybody stopped playing during 10th
Let Chaos Idols take this thread!
>>98502833>come on dude wrestling is like totally fakeI know lol lighten up and have sone fun with it
My dick is small, my balls non-existant and my anus is as tight as fort Knox. Which army is right for me?
>>98502812As an Ork player I am thrilled that Big Shootas got buffed and that 20 boy units get 2 nobs. I run a greentide list
>>98502842I have a personal petty hatred of corporate ads especially ever since they started blaring every time I use the gas pump so no I won't

>>98502966>eldar can't reproduce because their cocks are too big to fit in their women
Are the imperial stormtrooper guard army going to be squatted any time soon?Lately felt the itch to paint some. Maybe a custom one out of third party models. Oddly enough are the kasrkin the “standard look” like how the cadians are for most guard regiments when the stormtroopers aren’t working for the inquisition?
>>98503019Scions got their own kill team a year or two back, so likely no.
>>98502970Nah, when eldar have a 30% winrate they just wait patiently for the next codex/dataslate to make them broken again. Eldarfags are usually oldfags who've been collecting a while. They know GW can't go one edition without giving them a meta build.
>>98500812they're gonna fix them and make Votann elite feeling right? They're gonna make Hearthkyn not literal dogshit and remove the reliance on a killteam box as well, right? please?
>remove individual model and wargear costs to shrimplify the game>introduce an app that, aside from the nigger aids subscription fees, is actually quite useful>the kind if app that can track model counts, wargear on each model, and points costs>refuse to roll back shrimplification, forcing the game to be filled with asanine rules and stats everywhereThey quite literally have 0 excuse anymore, none. This one simple change would solve half the problems this game has at the moment.
>>98503019>Oddly enough are the kasrkin the “standard look” like how the cadians are for most guard regiments when the stormtroopers aren’t working for the inquisition?no this is what your standard stormtrooper looks like now.and no you don't really have to worry about them going away. maybe one day the scions will get a new kit more in line with the aquilons. unreleated but I'm kinda angry we don't have more kits for them. its been over a decade and still no sentinel, no sniper teams, no shotgunners etc etc
>>98503019No. Scions even received a detachment that makes them battleline while Kasrkin are kept limited.Kasrkin are a uniquely cadian organization while scions are generic stormtroopers, but there's nothing to say that other guard regiments can't have specialist troops like that, they just won't be as famous.
>>98502895>>98502957You anons have no idea how much I want the CWC to get into warhammer 40k and start up his antics again in mixing his horse cartoon, hedgehog and dimensional merge stuff with warhammer 40k. He might say he is a lost primarch or emperor but now empress. But he can be unpredictable like that. What army of 40k would CWC likely pick? Or what are the most likely candidates?I don’t want to be the one to introduce him to warhammer 40k though let someone else do it.
>>98503037I would really like more Tempestus, a whole subfaction wave like what the Death Korps got would actually make start collecting guard.
>>98503034>shrimplify the gameSome are saying its too simple now tho but I agree with you.
>>98503054Let's keep the e-celeb nonsense to a minimum
>>98503043All the career regiments have elite formations. The krieger have grenadiers for example.
So is the new Trazyn novel fully out? Anyone got the full spoiler? I heard our boy Creed is back?
>>98503034>>introduce an app that, aside from the nigger aids subscription fees, is actually quite useful>>the kind if app that can track model counts, wargear on each model, and points coststhat's worse than the free fanmade apps since it has shit like manually requiring you to select each gun instead of just giving the default ones and not separating the non battleline sheets out at all some you have to scroll through sometimes massive lists to find things
>>98502856some of us are unfortunately up pre-dawn for workyou will never be free of us truly, some even post in plain sight indistinguishable from your average poster until it is too late
>>98503028>>98503037>>98503043Alright thanks anons! Now I gotta look for scans/faithful remakes of the current scions because I just like the cartoony heroic scale. Just preference. And wanting to mix the old remakes of the imperial stormtroopers with the current scions to have a nice mix of new and old.
>>98503065And they're not as famous.
>>98503005Steel Legion Drab is too "dark brown" for what you're after, you want a bright "reddish brown."Try Vallejo Red Leather for that jacket.Otherwise, try Army Painter's "Dryad Brown."
>>98502812power creep is fine if appropriately pointed, smaller armies would be extremely welcome, but the amount of different abilities and keywords is a worrying direction for the game to return to.
>>98503067No word on Creed but Trazyn has the last of the Croneswords.
>>98503108>power creep is fine if appropriately pointedI would argue otherwise. That the game would benefit from less lethality and units being able to do less things so that the few things they can do can be more strategic.
>>98503093Thanks!I’ll look into dryad brown as it is available at the lgs and I fear the Vallejo bubbling hasn’t been fixed.I want to try the true metallics or metal color but I fear the bubble has tainted them all.
>>98503113kind of a dick move by trazyn tbqhthe eldar didn't even fuck over the necrons when they could have if they wanted to
>>98503108>power creep is fine if appropriately pointedbut then it's not power creep, it's appropriately pointed power. It could be considered power consolidation at best
>>98503119In the past 2 decades of using Vallejo paints on historical minis both for display and wargaming, I've never experienced the "Vallejo bubbling" that is so oft-claimed online.Yes I know "anecdote does not disprove the general statement" but even through multiple batches spread over 2 decades I've never had it, so I wonder how much of it is just people being shit painters and blaming their paints.
>>98503120Well they shoulda. 60 million years of dicking around doing nothing of worth.
>>98503113>Trayzn, the dude basically all of the necrons hate for being an asshole, has the mcguffin that the Ynnari, who basically all of the other eldar hate for being assholeslel

Heh.
>>98503113>>98503120Better in his vault than in Slaanesh's realm. I say it's a win for the Eldar actually. A more solvable problem.
>>98503131I’m talking about the new formula Vallejo. A lot of anons reported it. But I think the lid was blown off when that German paint reviewer stahly reported bubbles in his video. As far as I know Vallejo never addressed this. And anons reported that supposedly the pre-reformulation acrylics didn’t have this problem. I’m not sure if skill issue or downgrade in acrylic quality or both. I know bubbles can appear on all paints but Vallejo now supposedly is too easy to the point where it is better to switch away from what I’ve seen.
>>98503145A museum heist would be pretty dope as a story.
>>98503141You bore me and everyone else with these type of low brow and uninspired comments.
>>98503145Anon, it puts the Eldar back at square one after having made no progress. Initial rumors were that Fulgrim had it and that Craftworlds were gearing up to hunt him down. Now Trazyn supposedly has it.This means one of the two swords is a fake, yet both are being held by popular named characters who the Eldar have zero chance of beating. So either>The Eldar lose to Fulgrim and don't get the sword>The Eldar lose to Trazyn and don't get the sword>Both are actually fake and Eldar are double fucked
>>98503173>Initial rumors were that Fulgrim had it and that Craftworlds were gearing up to hunt him down.Memelore btw
>>98503126boyz getting stronger is power creeping. horde units behaving like 10th edition elites is power creeping.
>>98503173>the actual last Cronesword is the Emperor's Sword all along>Yvraine asks Guilliman to hand it over and he refuses, kills her, and the Ynnari disband permanently
>>98503173there is a small chance that trazyn just gives it to them in exchange for some other plot macguffin
>>98503179>memeloreNta but is this lore that is speculation that gets parroted to the point where it is believed as fact? I’m not sure if a term for this exists.I think lore discussion would be better if anons humorously cite lore observations as being from their asses or worse when asking for sources on lore.Has the alpha legion decloaking armor become believed to be canon by secondaries? I want to know what the fake lores believed to be real by secondaries are and make a big deboooking meme. Especially when it is disappointing.
>ynnari never get the last crone sword>ynnari get the last crone sword but can't awaken ynnead>ynnari awaken ynnead but ynnead jobs to slaanesh anywaysWhich one would be most humiliating? That's the one James will choose.
>>98503151I know, I gave the modifier of time to say I had experience on both sides of the "old/new formula."Even with the "new" stuff, I haven't had issues. I don't know, I might just be really lucky on my Vallejo paints or have some particular climate that lets it just work.
>>98503202The most common (and cringiest) memelore is Orks rewriting reality with their beliefs. Such as an ordinary stick shooting bullets if you can convince an Ork it's a gun.>In reality the Ork just picks up the stick and bashes you over the skull with it because it's obviously a stick, you git
>>98503192if they're costed appropriately for their new power then definitionally it is not power creep

It's however barely a cameo, he doesn't do anything plot relevant.
Horus should come back as a good guy and the Emperor should become the dark king. It would be kino and you could sell a Horus model. Did I say you could sell a Horus model for $250? Because you totally could.
>>98503210I vaguely remember one theory that the water quality strongly affects the Vallejo paints. It is probably a weed pipe theory but it is funny to me because of Angel giraldez’s little Spanish water meme.He is a Vallejo shill but he is a good painter so it doesn’t matter to me.

I haven't paid any attention to 11th because I hated 10th so much and people were saying it was more of the same, but I gave it a quick look and it's somehow even worse. am I reading these detachment rules right and you literally can't even play retaliation cadre in a 1000 point game?

>>98503282No you're not reading them right you clueless Taufag piece of shit
>>98503293Thorpelore. He's the one who wrote that awful Blood of the Phoenix box fluff where all the Ynnari, including the Yncarne, got bodied by an illusion of Shalaxi.
>>98503271If it interest you there is still a human character that is basically the third protagonist just after Trazyn and Orikan. it's Inquisitor Valeria
>>98503318Wait didn't she die way before cadia? Also where can I read it?
>>98503293Nah that's just how Phoenix Lords work. Technically the 'body' disintegrates in the armor though how fast that happens is questionable, since it's only really happened once.Phoenix Lords are surprisingly not major jobbers, but have been shown both to bleed normally or not have proper bodies.Bit up to interpretation.
Only Maugan Ra has his original body. He's built different.
>>98503328Unfortunately I have the physical book, and I am not scanning it when the e-pub is coming out in a few day. Once it does someone will probably post it here. she got shot by Greyfax, but Trazyn has her in stasis with time stopped as the bolt detonates inside her chest. He needs Orikan to revive her and he basically kill her a few times before succeeding.
>>98503332I think the only depiction where the body 'disintegrated' was Path of the Warrior, but I always interpreted that sequence as metaphorical, describing the overwriting of Korlandril's soul from his own perspective as his mind was consumed by Karandras. Normal Exarchs still have a body in the armor, and every other depiction of Phoenix Lords (including Path of the Eldar, when Karandras is slain by that dreadnought) states that they have a very mortal body under the armor and if that body is killed, they're reduced to a suit of armor like any other Exarch.

>>98503375>>Killa Kans weapons are rolled into a single profileOn one hand it usually sucks, but on the other instead of giving you a single profile like they did for Nobs they gave you three different options you have all the time and you can choose what to use as needed.

>>98503485I primarily want to know what the model in that picture is. The exchange made me curious about ai bots unleashed on /tg/ to generate or respond to 40k threads. But I am worried if the autist actually goes through with that irc suggestion and it goes through.
how are you supposed to use valkyrie transports? they can only carry 12 guys but a regular squad has 10 and a command squad has 4 so they don't fit. are you supposed to use them with commisars?
>>98503456>Who are you to have such knowledgeYeah, really.
>>98503435Can you feel a Kheradruakh Mandrake Lord model?
>>98503503That's not from a codex, that's from Gathering Storm lmao
>>98503511you don't use them lol aren't they the same costs as a fucking dorn? they are overpriced, underarmed and what can they transport that a 15 man scion + scion cmd squad can't deepstrike and kill?
>>98503506I meant BL as an umbrella term for the authors. My bad. I’ll admit I may not have much room to shit on contracted authors that just go for the guaranteed source of income even if it isn’t their passion. If it is the case for some black library authors it depends on how much they “care” about giving their best beyond meeting deadlines and meeting serviceable levels to stay hired by GW to write warhammer books. I still wonder how long it will be before a writer makes a novel that shows the Eldar not taking catching more beatings than a boxer training punching bag.>>98503467That’s worrisome no matter where this goes if the “nothing ever happens” meme doesn’t make an exception here.
>>98503533 me>I’ll admit I may not have much room to shit on contracted authorsI am not a contracted author. The reason I said that was because I enjoyed the logh manga that completed. That manga and anime still make me wonder if the warhammer 40k battle fleet gothic ships can or actually do fight in flight formations like in logh.Or at least try to before it all descends into disorganized dogfights in space.Do the big imperial ships of 40k fight like that?

Nothing will ever come from it, unless you are shitposting him which in that case, nice.As for the STL I got no idea, but that also doesn't matter.
>>98503511Transports for guard are 12 so you can fit 2 HWS (each is worth 6) in them, at least that's the most obvious mathing of it to me.You're meant to use Castellans/Commissars in transports, yes. The final space can also fit a Tech Priest, but that's more meant for Chimera spam to sit on a midpoint keeping the 2-3 Chimeras around it alive. The Valkyrie isn't a great unit right now, it's way too expensive for what it gives and how weak it is on-table. I'd rather have 2 Chimeras, which coincidentally is 10 points less than a Valkyrie, and let the deepstrike duty go to Recon Squads or Ratlings.

When the Guard and Tau fight, who then is the underdog? The Guard for fighting a technologically superior enemy, or the Tau for fighting a numerically superior enemy that can afford to throw waves upon waves of men at them?

Seen plenty of desert dwelling dudes in robes with head wraps in those books. I mean sure it's derivative of actual historical military styles but so is almost every other regiment. Vostroyans are russians, mordians are french, krieg and steel legion are krauts. It applies to almost all of them not just cadians.
>>98502823Just finished up some Boyz after a break. Probably gonna do the bigboss next so he can fit the collage theme.>>98502812I'm mixed on a few things. I love the addition of hunter profiles and also love the fact that tankbustas are bs4+, meaning the door is open for specialized Ork shooting units to have the ability to aim (somewhat). However, I really don't like that all of our basic shooting like sluggas and shootas and dakkaguns are getting lethals against infantry. It bloats the datasheets and doesn't serve any purpose for the guns' feel. Necrons get lethal hits because the weapons atomize you. Orks get it against infantry because ??? Balance purposes?Ultimately I would like to think that this codex being strong means that the game is moving to smaller battle sizes due to higher points costs. Games have gotten insanely long to the point where we're back to playing 1.5k games just fit them into our allotted game time. This shit is still better than 10th, though.
>>98504425>Pic related is just Arabs>Vostroyans are russians, mordians are french, krieg and steel legion are krautsYes, and all of these are better and more visually interesting than pseudo British men in dull green. >>98504425Take a then-contemporary when 40k was being made US Army PASGT helmet and extend it to its logical conclusions as if you're a British man in the 80s who has no idea why tactical gear looks the way it does. That and other contemporary military equipment (British, West German, even some Soviet and Yugoslavian, etc) is what a lot of Cadian gear is based on, 80s/90s equipment taken to the nth degree by people who don't know why combat gear is shaped the way it is (so they make some nonsensical conclusions in their extrapolation).None of them are 1-to-1 of course, but there is a clear line of inspiration you can draw from the real objects to the original GW designs for Cadians. And a bit of Colonial Marines from Alien on top of the real items, but their gear is also clearly heavily derived from 80s US equipment like the PASGT helmet and vest (and the Vietnam-era flak jackets that came before the vest) so we loop back around.
>>98504113Considering you asked what faction and not what specific model, I'd say you're more "queercoded" than I am you flaming faggot
>>98504471I'm not a Brit, no. Even my country would make for fun inspo we run an RPG where a bunch of ozzie guard in slouch hats exist lmao. What don't I find interesting about Cadians though? I've touched on colour multiple times, I just don't like how drab they are, the generic WWII uniform (yes, even with the flak plates it doesn't help much). Then there's tactics/culture. Mordians have their disciplined firing lines, Catachans/Tallarn/Vostroyans have their favoured/unfavoured environments, Tanith, Elysians, Harakoni (among other regiments like armoured companies) are specialists in certain types of warfare. Cadia are just... good soldier boys? I hate them for being jack of all trades just like Ultras, another thing I said earlier.
>>98504490Yeah, I don't disagree at all.I don't see that as being a uniquely Cadian issue either is my point. They don't even extrapolate or change it up a little bit by adding pauldrons with the Tallarns, they're just Arabs in 40k. Catachan is a planet full of Rambos and Arnold Schwarzeneggers, and there's no less than two not-German regiments. I don't have a problem with that but its not something you can honestly point at as being a Cadian-only issue.
>>98504499Nta but eldar are pretty queer

>>98504514yeah but the Death Jester is kino
>>98504364I just started on mine, but luckily it’ll be a simple tactical marine getting axed by an ork boy at minimum. I’m going to slice some more off so it fits, but the idea is he’s going to be on his back shielding his face while the ork gets ready to do a big swing on him.
>>98504509>I'm not a Brit I'm an AussieMate we're both Brits on a different island down here, be real. At the very least that counts as Brit adjacent.I could go on about how cadians are raised from childhood as fighters, guarded the eye of terror, and have their purple eye thing. And now they have the 'avenge our dead world' thing going on. I'm not trying to say they're the coolest regiment, I just think they're held to unfairly high standards due to being the poster boys and are on par for coolness with most of the other known regiments. It's an interesting topic of discussion either way, though.
>>98504509Cadia is a fully militarized society. The good bit of Cadia WAS its civilians - or lack of them. How they all wore camo like tactical mall Texans, how their cities were a mix of Switzerland-Tel'Aviv-Albania with bunkers next to malls and parks. Then they all exploded. As for the aesthetic, the world war tunics are the best part of their style.RIP Cadia: nobody actually knew you, despite being the ultramarines of guardsmen.

>>98502955I feel like that Lhykhis is supposed to be a dude, but my initial gut read was "ELDAR MONKEY WOMAN NEURON ACTIVATION"
So how do Ork tribes work? Is it like gang affiliations where they're all mixed together on the same planets arguing over turf but still cooperating sometimes? Or is it more like each tribe is their own little empire? Ghaz is the Goff clan so does he lead only Goff orks or is he leading all orks?
>>98504531Tasteful. Blood Angel tactical, I'm guessing?I really wish they'd bring back the assembly style of tacticals and other kits of that time.>>98504543The head's from one of the corsair voidscarred ladies, I just did a shit job painting it.

>>98504522Unironic state-assigned mates, meaning they have Gubernamental Prostitutes.
>>98504509Cadia was extremely militarized due to proximity to the Eye of Terror and all the threats that implies. Everyone's given training to the point kids are potty trained being told to aim their dicks like it's a Lasgun and everyone not on active duty is reserve and would be able to shoot if needed. Cadians ended up so effective that they set the standard and a huge chunk copy them for their effectiveness, making them the "normal" for many.
>>98504537I get your arguments, FWIW if you asked me 5+ years ago I would've been fine with Cadians. The flak armour is pretty cool looking and it's a shame they did the other regiments dirty by just straight lifting historical military outfits. I'd say that my latest real turn against Cadia is just how James has abandoned all other regiments for them, how every single time IG are shown in vidya its Cadians... I'm tired, grandpa!>>98504539You're just describing the US, and I hate their military propaganda and koolaid society too.
>>98504559In that case I apologize, honestly the idea of eldar as hyper-advanced monkey people, who are racist against humanity for being under developed primates, is so much more interesting than space elves going "ooooh the death of our race ooooooh~"
>>98504566>everyone not on active duty is reserve and would be able to shoot if neededI was writing an OC planet where the core tenners were agriculture, a war economy and an armed citizenry and my goal was to make a Cadia-Ultramar noblebright hybrid......which makes it funny how it turned out I accidentally made then a Khmer Rouge / Albanian hybrid.Whoops!Luckily that's par for the course in the Imperium, so...success?
>>98504566Which is almost a shame, so many regiments are half assed Cadian cosplayers, that the real deal almost get lost in the mix. A Cadian uniform does not a Cadian make.
>>98504567>You're just describing the USTheir houses are made out of wood and papier mache, anon, surrounded by grass. That is NOT fortified lmao

>>98504614>taco>talking shit about anyoneAhahaha
>>98504513Yea, there's a lot of half-assing and barely-changed-from-the-source stuff in 40k.Valhallans are pop culture Red Army in winter uniforms (including the big red star and a white-over-green paintjob on vehicles), Praetorians are literally just the 24th Regt. of Foot from the movie Zulu, Tallarn were originally meant to be a Lawrence of Arabia reference and so on. Hell, the guy who came up with Gaunt's Ghosts said he was ripping off Sharpe.I do wish that the original designers took more liberties, but we're 40 odd years on the other side of that pandora's box being opened so c'est la vie.>two not-German regimentsThree (or four), actually. Only SL and DKoK got models though, Teutons are stuck in an old codex.I would call Mordians space Prussians as well for the fourth, the whole "dark blue uniforms and excessive discipline" is the pop culture understanding of Prussia as the foundation for the entire early 20th century "German martial prowess" thing moreso than representing French elan.
>>98504614I used to live in New Orleans and that's bullshitIf a hurricane tears a house up, it's better to have flying drywall than flying bricks and most of the concrete buildings that were fucked up are basically unusable.
So basically Cadia is just Albania
>>98504602Their country (all of EU really) relies on everything historical as their identity. Even if that's just trying to brag about their old ass, tiny brick dwellings that they refuse to modernize with air conditioning. The modern yuro lives off copium and seethe over everyone around them (including other yuros). The eternal yuro desires only to declare the inferiority of those around him.
>>98504620>goober searching aroundHe's supposed to be getting stabbed whilst running, but the "posing" was kind of difficult to do.
So do you think Cadians were omitted from galactic heresy statistics due to being the "georg spider eater" of falling to chaos thanks to their extreme proximity to the eye of terror, or did they just hide it in normal crime statistics?
>>98504628Fair on the mordians, but I do think there is a frenchiness about them in how they insist on a well tailored dress uniform. Reminds me of how resistant they were to ditching their fancy red and blue in the opening years of WW1, before they finally couldn't avoid facing reality and went drab green and brown like everyone else.

>>98504554The Ork klans are a genetic predisposition. Orks spawned from spores of a particular Ork are typically going to have the same Klan disposition. As a greater whole, yea, generally the klans will get along with each other, though depending on the respective populations and/or the current leader of the entire warband this will adjust - i.e. a warband comprised of Goffs or Snakebites with a smaller community of Deffskullz or Blood Axes within will have more inter-Klan strife because of how those klans have fairly opposed views. But as mentioned, leadership is more about the entire organized warband than it is about klans, though simultaneously it can be both. Using Ghaz as an example, in the current Armageddon storyline he's got Nazdreg, Wazdakka, and Snikrot all answering to him as boss and each responsible for Ork forces largely comprised of their respective klans, with obviously a lot of Goffs making up the combined force as well.
>>98504641>posing was kind of difficult to do.MANY SUCH CASES. fair enough though, its still a really cool diorama leaning into badass rather than silly.

>>98504680Oh dear, I see you come from American tier education. Anon said "good houses are made of concrete". That implies he thinks "wood and paper mache" houses are trash and so too are the countries/people that build them. That is firmly in the ballpark of "talking shit", capiche?
>>98504629I have actually been in a hurricane. I was surprised that my problem was flooding...from the top: the windy rain carried so much water it was seeping from the windows on the 2nd floor, while the bottom floor was dry (I live on a hill).Had to open the rear terrace door (in the wind's shadow) and sweep the water through the other side.Luckily we don't get actually tornadoes; we don't have basements. I would love to have a basement. The entire concept sounds so cool! It's like a secret lair under your house.>>98504653Carne asada is from the north, and earthquakes are from the west coast and center. >>98504708
>>98504698>Anon said "good houses are made of concrete". That implies heI'm anon, I know what I imply. Good ("expensive and sturdy) houses HERE are made of the materials I mentioned. We also have wooden houses, but those belong to very poor people and are mostly in bad conditions.Foreign builders keep pushing for wooden designs, as wood is actually fine for building and vastly cheaper...but people here just aren't used to them (Spanish-style construction), and believe all wood is tinder waiting to burst aflame.Or rot with the sea spray. The high salinity makes people distrust exposed steel also. It's plastered blocks or reinforced concrete.Even if it's a tiny shoebox, it has a concrete exterior.
>>98504734Okay, well what you need to understand is that your experience doesn't apply the world over. I live in a tropical environment and wooden houses breath the best in the humidity. We have big fancy ones with wraparound porches that can cost a small fortune. Also not 100% sure what's done to resist the salt spray, but we have them on the coast too and they're fine. So get it out of your head that wood = flimsy and cheap, it's simply not true.
CK point costs right now let you take one of each knight class >stalker>abominant >tyrant>castigator/acheron>porphyrionCK and IK points should always allow this, in fact there should be specific detachments for it. Call it Family Reunion or something
>>98504774GET THAT SHIT OUTTA HERE
>>98504743Proper wood is. Drywall ain't. I never understood videos of people punching holes in the walls until I learned that indeed my experience (concrete) just wasn't universal.
>>98502823Got chunk of lads painted up with the first layer of green. So I got the Armageddon box, I don't play or collect orks, but I figured it would be a good point to start with the new sculpts. Does this mean it's the ideal time to get a Ghazghkull?

>>98505771>will they come with an upgrade sprueUnless they get a subfaction sprue (like freebooterz), then unlikely.start box boyz don't have special weapon, but there's another start box with some extra models (big shoota and rokkit launcha)Multipart boyz have the special weapons in the box.If you want a lot of special weapons you can always wait for burnas/lootas.What special weapons are you looking for?
Thinking of transporting my veteran guardsmen Krieg Kill Team in a Gorgon with a magnetized floor.Could it be possible? I need to fit at least 14-18 guardsmen inside.
>>98505799>KT>18 dudesNani?>possible?Maybe a bit tight, but if you got a printer you could always print a slightly bigger gorgon
>>9850580518 just for the full number of operative options
~7th ed legionaries are the same size as mk3 tacticals when it comes to hands or would it be showing a bit too much?
>>98505737The initiative stat can come back only if there are more ways to interact with it. I don't care how much sense it made lorewise it sucked ass not being able to throw my melee guys into the enemies melee guys because I knew they'd all get murdered before getting to swing back. Its not as bad of a feeling when you're throwing Guardsmen at Incubi or WE because of course thats going badly but charging boyz into Assault marines only to lose half the unit before even swinging because>I2Felt like reheated ass.Tho I suppose bringing Initiative back would make Eldar actually good at something again. That could be nice for them I guess.
>>98505783>What special weapons are you looking for?Just 2x burna, big shoota and rokkit for the 20 Boyz
>>98505352Sounds based
>>98505807That's what I wagered, but I don't play KT (yet)>>98505829You can get the rokkit and shoota with the introduction set. As for the burnas, just wait for the burna kit to come out, it'll likely be dual kit with lootas so you'll have spare burnas
>>98505352>for the sake of complainingNo u unironically
>>98505829just grab a box of lootas then, you can turn one of the big shootas into an ork holding rockets launcher by kitbashing the gun to have some rockets instead of barrels
>>98505879At this point just wait for the new kit, less hassle
Why do the ork models have to look so fucking good? I don't want to drop another $1000 dollarydoos on an army, I haven't even finished my Smelldar
>>98505882Finish your smelldars, then you can start a mini ork force, the models aren't going away any time soon
>>98505871>As for the burnas, just wait for the burna kit to come out, it'll likely be dual kit with lootas so you'll have spare burnasanon...
>>98505882you should do it anyway, that way you'll be a Based ork player and not just a cringe Smelldar player.
What does /40kg/ think of my idea for a TSons vindicator? I want to do something similar with the front of the plow, though maybe fewer stripes and less of a gap between the smallest and the largest. The metal trim on the right and left with be gold too, restricting the stripes to the middle.
>>98505871I have 60 of the Armageddon boys and thought I'd buy 2 of these orks from the introductory set and now I have 2 nobz and 6 left over boyz. And I still don't have a single ork boy squad fully equipped because the burners are missing. I feel like I'll have to buy the new ork boyz box and just equip everyone with specials
>>98505737Bullshit. Fights first is literally taking turns to pick a fights first unit (units that charged or have native fights first) to fight, and then when all those are finished continuing to take turns. In no way is that more complicated than checking the initiative values of all eligible units.
>>98505903InterestingLooking forward to it
>>98505903or
>>98505903playmobil/10
>>98505737I still don't understand the point of initiative. What does it simulate? What breaks if it's removed?I can understand fight first and fight last, as in units that are so fast they hit before you or weapons so cumbersome that they only hit at the end.For most cases it's a question of fighting skill.Maybe I'm retarded.
>>98505914Fights first and fights last requires dividing the combat into 3 steps, one for each rule, with its own weird interactions when certain rules or actions grant one of those rules or when you're activating out of phase. Initiative is literally just going in order from 10 to 1.
>>98505682Primarisfags are children trying to wear daddy's clothes, I agree
>>98505924>I still don't understand the point of initiative>I can understand fight first and fight lastthen you understand the point of initiative, it's just that with it, instead of fight first/last, there are more than just 3 levels of initiative
>>98505924Initiative represents how fast a unit is in combat, so faster units like Eldar will get to strike first and slower units will strike last. It's not that things break if you remove it but it was a very simple solution to figuring out in what order is combat resolved. A lot of heavier weapons were balanced around the fact that they had shit initiative.
>>98505931>>98505932But is that really necessary? Do we really need more than 3 levels of initiative?Genuine question
>>98505936Not necessarily. The issue isn't having 3 steps, it's how the underlying rules are written. If fights first and fights last worked exactly the same as initiative steps then there would be no issue.
>>98505936do you really need more than 3 levels of armor?
>>98505927There are two steps: fights first and then not-fights first. It's incredibly simple if you've played a game of 11th. Maybe you're getting confused by having to actually make tactical choices during the phase and want it all predetermined? What "certain rules or actions" are you thinking of? The potentially complicated out of phase stuff like fights on death would interfere with initiative as well.
>>98505945>Maybe you're getting confused by having to actually make tactical choices during the phase and want it all predetermined?it's rare to have so many units in combat that choosing which unit to resolve first is a real choice, most often you just pick your most powerful unit, or whatever is engaged with the enemy's post powerful unitif anything alternated activations should happen at range, and melee should be more chaotic and with less control
>>98505940I haven't touched anything past 5th, how does fight first and fight last work in comparison to initiative?>>98505941For a game like 40k I'd say so. I'm wondering if that granularity is needed for melee combat, since it's quite hectic and brutal. One of the first wargame was a literal coin toss when two units engaged in melee combat.
>>98505951>it's rare to have so many units in combat that choosing which unit to resolve first is a real choicenogames
>>98505956>how does fight first and fight last work in comparison to initiative? It's like a mini fight phase with only the models that have those rules and it has tricky interactions with any other rule that makes you fight. Or at least that was the issue in 10th, I don't know about 11th.
>>98505951>if anything alternated activations should happen at rangeAn alternating shooting phase, or a combined shooting/melee "fight" phase would be cool. Do all charges in the movement phase. Speed the game up.
>>98505963No way they made it more complicated than>okay fight first units attack, resolve these attacks>okay regular units attack, resolve those>okay now fight last attack, resolve those>doneIt shouldn't be harder than that. Yes I am clueless as to how 10th work, now is learning time.
>>98505963Fight last doesn't exist anymore.
>>98505920I really like that front. I wish I had a 3D printer. >>98505921That’s why I was going to make the lines finer and paint the trim/chisels gold. It would take away that blocky look a bit.
>>98505963That isn't how it worked at all in 10th, and not in 11th either. Fight phase in both is "units with fight first goes first, then others goes, players alternate" with the non-active player going first in each case in 10th and the active player going first in 11th and then alternating from there. Fights last doesn't actually exist in 10th or 11th, so there's just two steps. There are finesses that happen when units pile in (if you pile into a fights first unit, for exampe, it becomes eligible to fight right after yours and indeed has to if its the only fights first unit ready to fight), but that sort of thing had to be dealt with even in old editions, since it's been something that happens for as long as pile-ins have happened (and it is a thing in at least my copy of the 4th ed rulebook) and was no different when it came to initiative, if a unit with higher initiative somehow got pulled into combat, it got to fight and you jumped back to whatever initiative step it is at. You could never dodge a unit fighting by piling a lower I unit into a faster one, they still got to fight.
>>98505990NTA but if, in the end, it's pretty much the same, why change it? A special rule to handle those steps is still a worse format than a simple stat.
>>98505903If you're a god at freehand (or can find some good decals for it) you could paint the plow like it was a wall covered in hieroglyphics.
>should be excited for all these new ork releases as an ork player>tfw already sick of it and have started rebuilding my second armyThe only thing i painted from the Armageddon box is the dakkarig and it was in the collage
>>98505966>Do all charges in the movement phase.then you lose some fun interactions or end up with frustrating behaviours for example by putting a small disposable unit in front of your own you completely prevent the enemy from reaching it in combat because the only way for reaching it would be shooting it down and then charging past it, but if charges happen only before shooting then that can't happensimilarly if charges happen before shooting you can just throw shitty units at important units and even if the shitty unit is going to evaporate immediately in combat, the big unit will be stopped from shooting so I think charging HAS to happen after the alternated shooting
I don't cary about any of this but it should be called assault phase again.
So if knights are going to be souped with admech, does that mean chaos knights will…
>>98506085>knights souped with admechHuh?
Page 8New Thread>>98506084>>98506084>>98506084
>>98506008A special rule is better since it can be more strictly limited, because having it handled by a stat leads to "melee" armies that either have weirdly high initiative stats for their fluff, or are simply unable to function because their enemies effectively have army wide fights first against them. Orks suffered badly from this (>I2 memes) but it also means in many cases the only actually relevant stat a unit has is its initiative. You can have a bajillion attacks and strength and ap, but it doesn't matter if your opponent hits you first and has half a bajillion which kills you just as good. Custodes, for example, would be absurdly oppressive against melee armies (and indeed have been with widely available fight first like in index 10th and/or high initiative in systems like 30k) because they will always hit hard enough to kill you and their fluff demands they have better initiative than anyone else. The game just becomes unplayable for armies like WE at that point because what are you supposed to do? You can't shoot them, and you can't fight them.
>>98504406why dis nigga look like kraang
>>98505554At the very least they should get their special bullets back.
