I'm wanting to get into a Chaos faction for a new armyIs there an actual gimmick to Red Corsairs, or are they just Coke Zero to CSM's Diet Coke, for lack of a better term off the top of my head? Should I even bother vs. picking a specific god's unique roster instead?

Wish we got to see more types of Gue'vesa being rehabilitated in the Tau Empire. I wanna see how they rehabilitate a former Krieg Guardsman, or a Techpriest or Skitarii whose 90% cybernetics, or even a servitor who wasn't quite as braindead as usual
>>98509842>no clue how you would do most of thatHere's how I've done rust for Bolt Action vehicles and the rivets on German helmets:>put your darkest brown paint on the specific spot where the rust is originating>take a smaller brush with no paint in it and use it to trail the brown downwards like water trails would be>put your middle brown-orange paint on the edges between panels>repeat step 2 with this color>put your lightest orange/ochre (I've used Bestigor Flesh before for this) on the focal points where the rust would be "fresh" directly under rust spots as a highlightYou can find videos of other people doing this, it's very big in historical models and wargames for obvious reasons. I think Duncan Rhodes has a video showing it for terrain as well if you need it from him, you'd have to check.
>>98509842>buy oil paints>put a few tiny dots of different colored paint on model >get a wide clean brush>dip in spirits>drag down over the paint a few timesthere, instantly have that effect with zero skill or practice required. its one of the oldest armor modelling tricks in the book.

>>98509986I posted 5 of them yesterday or the day before. All characters get them, some sergeants and squads. Vehicle too on occasion, though that’s much more variable.> Brother Cazador, the Saint of Ashes.> Cazador Peshada was the predecessor to the current 8th company captain. As master of the 8th he was both a skilled apothecary and techmarine. Crippled by a Dark Eldar assassination attempt in M41.883, and, on the brink of death, he interred in a truly sarcophagus and slumbered for several decades.>In a joint project between Tejana and the Coal Hearts armory the Madrigal Pattern was the product of well over a century of work. The core of the design was a functional Saturnine dreadnought torso and power plant, recovered from an expedition into the Ghoul Stars. The legs and servos, along with much of the cogitator systems were unrecoverable. After decades of no progress, a method was devised to attach the dreadnought torso to the legs of a Dunecrawler and use its systems as a means of bootstrapping the Saturnine’s weakened machine spirit. This of course led to difficulty as the neural strain from piloting such a walker and handling its complex machine spirit would require a strong mind and unsurpassed will. Cazador had that will, after being installed it was found that as a former Techmarine he was particularly well suited to the task. Still, he has spent long years asleep to reduce the strain and extend his functional life. Every campaign may be his last, and the chapter is loath to lose such a powerful warmachine. He is seen by some as the ultimate example of what any Coal Heart may become given enough time, a killing machine consumed bit by bit until almost nothing is left of the flesh and blood man that once was.

>>98509986One of my corsair felarchs was an exodite captured by a deldar raiding party as a young man. Luckily he had a natural talent for fighting, and was spared the torture rack. Instead he was forced to fight in the arenas of Commorragh for many, many years before he managed to escape. Of course as a man wanted by a powerful cabal who has only known violence and bloodshed, he had few options. He turned to Khaine searching for survival and purpose and joined an incubi shrine. Of course he successfully completed the grueling initiation process and even became a klaivex. Eventually his shrine took a contract from a Corsair Prince, where a number of the incubi decided to pledge loyalty and remain with the corsair band. He makes no attempt to conceal his disdain for Commorites, which is not least fueled by the fact that he is much more like them than any craftworlder or exodite. He says that his greatest fear is that the bloodlust will take him, and like the exarch he murdered he will be unable to turn his mind from the thrill of killing. In reality, his greatest fear is that it already has.he’s still unnamed just like all of my dudes because I am awful at coming up with names

>>98510766such a weird premise for a 40k videogame at the time
Are knights better to play in HH than 40k
>>98510773i choose to willfully deceive myself in looking back on it as though it were a near peer to gaylo as opposed to the pitiful if lovingly crafted game it actually waskais was just one of those once-in-ten-generations prodigious turbomurderers that sometimes crop up
>>98509555What was your first 40k purchase? Mine was battle for macragge box set
>>98510786either khorne daemonkin codex or box of csm
>>98510786MINE WAS THE 16 ORK BOX LE LE ECKS DEE XDXD :DD
>>98510567No. There are easier and better ways to deep strike.
>>98510786I thought it was Black Reach but I found the little geneseed guy from Macragge the other day so it must've been that.
>>985107862007 ork boyz box
>>98510786
>>98510786Warlock and Sweeping Hawks in the same purchase. I had no idea what I was doing and still do not
>>98510620How in the actual fuck does anyone click on this?
>>98510786Gravis captain with heavy bolt rifle
>>98510786White Dwarf>Bro didn't specify models lmaooooooo chopped unc fr fr
>>98510786Mine was a commader dante but before that i traded some yugioh cards and gogos for the marines in battle for macragge with a classmate. Good times
This is what felinids should look like
>>98509760I'd rather its at medium size, like an armiger. That way I can bring three and its only 20% of my army.
>>98509953Cawl wouldn't betray the imperium because as chill as he is he is a (machine) human supremacist still. He sees aliens as retarded and lesser, and he verbalizes such when he play tortures necrons as he often does.
>>98510903Wouldn't mind.I'd imagine the imperium cares so little about abhumans that they'd bundle various beast-like abhumans into one category, so they can look however you like. The manga is quite good, I enjoyed reading it.
>>98510786I painted my bro's leftover models, so my first proper purchase was the previous imperial guard combat patrol, the one with 20 cadians, a command squad, a sentinel and the field guns.
Anyone looked at the Nu-Orks? Looks like 11th edition is gonna be broken vs broken with what seems to be atleast double the current damage on average...I don't think I'm very exited for 11th anymore.
>>98510953it just looks to me like orks are being re-adjusted to allow for a hero hammer army in addition to just infantry or vehicle spam. i dont mind them getting another playstyle
>>98510956But.. they're playing hero hammer right now!
>>98510786a strange purchase considering my first army was guard
>>98510953Best case at this point they're going to be semi-elite rather than horde with massive points increases to match their datasheets. Model counts were way too high in 10th, and GW balanced things with points reductions too often.
40k needs proper dragons in it.
>>98510988a kroot is not a proper dragon
>>98510984I swear to god if they change Guardsmen to be elite and we'll end up fielding 1 platoon...
>>98510988you just want to masturbate to it
does anyone actually play with those third party minis that have their boobs out
>>98510997my friend has some of those slutty custodes models but they aren't naked
>>98510996That's besides the point.
>>98511000>checkeddo you gawk at them?
>>98510988chaos space marines will have dragons and straight up AoS skaven will be in 40k by 2035
>>98510988
>>98510786In 2006 I bought a few guard squads, a leman russ, 2 basilisks, a chimera, a couple heavy weapon teams, and a platoon command squad. I also bought a squad of seraphim, Saint Celestine, an immolator, a rhino, a canoness, and a couple sister squads. Then lastly I bought 1 land raider, 1 order malleus inquisitor, Lord Karamazov, a hodgepodge o the old inquisitorial retinue models, and a couple penitent engines. All put together they made a pretty shitty army but this was back in 4th edition so it was just sort of whatever. People thought my army was weird but it was legal under the old 4th edition ally rules in the witch hunters codex. Still got that on my shelf. I was young and my friends didn't know how to play either. It was a blast. When Assault on Black Reach came out, me and my buddy split it. That was tons of fun too.I still have all my old stuff in the old citadel foam case. I'll always have those. Now days I updated my whole army to the new plastic sisters, I got into tyranids, eldar, and marines as well to mix things up. But I actually didn't really expand the guard despite that being my first army (alongside sisters and inquisition).let me tell you, the old Karamazov was a hunk of metal. That thing is heavy. My land raider sadly was destroyed in a moving van, but everything else is intact and safe. if I ever do expand the guard army I'll break out those original guard for nostalgia.Although I did not do that for the sisters. My current paint job is actually pretty good and the old metal ones when I was a teen are pretty bad lol. So they're fine in the closet lol.Man, 20 years. It's been a blast. This is a pretty fun hobby, but I think I also just sort of got lucky since I lived near a good store with a good crowd. I moved a few years ago and there's no stores near me now, which makes me appreciate all those years where I did get to play a lot.
>>98511009>straight up AoS skaven will be in 40k by 2035Never ever.
>>98511009>chaos space marines will have dragons
>>98511025you WILL buy the £30 clanrat 40k upgrade sprue
>They release plastic kill tanks>They release a looted wagon upgrade sprue designed to be used with any 40k tank>Dread Mob detachment applies to ork tanks as wellWhy don't you hire me to write the codex James
>>98511039>>They release a looted wagon upgrade sprueI got yer upgrade sprue riiiight herehttps://www.themodelworkshop.co.uk/tools-accessories/plasticard.html
>>98511010That's just a legally distinct dinosaur.
Hypothetically: GW has black bagged you, beaten you, spat in your face, shoved you in the back of a car and taken you to Warhammer World in Nottingham. And now they are forcing you to design 40k's 12th Edition however you like. What changes to the rules, codeces, models, or anything else would you make to improve the game / make it your ideal version of the game?
>>98511065Sure, but they need to sell it to have rules for it.& the majority of ork players conversions are just glueing shitloads of guns to something and claiming it's meant to look like dogshit cos its orks
>>98511074Give it basically the same rules as current edition 30kAdd tactical statuses, line, vanguard, make scoring objectives more important that just tabling your opponent, bring back wargear with points, add prime advantages for more customisationThe main complaint about current 30k is gutting the flavour but 40k already lost that 3 editions ago.
>>98511039God I want that tank so bad.
This is the "Tanks but no Tanks" Edition. Everyone will get light vehicles of some sort or another.
>>98511074I literally just copy the current 30k rules, squat primaris and bring back the old FW range of models and Imperial Armour books as a bi-yearly thing.
>>98510093marines malevolent and the ork will be a deathskull happy he has more beakies to loot.
>>98511085what will they do to make light vehicles not awful like they are now?
>>98511074first of all I ask to go to the bathroom to rub one out real quick, then once I have achieved peace I go write an edition all about shrimplified stats, alternated actions, randomly generated gotcha stratagems and underdog mechanics, collectible decks of cards (only art, no rules on the cards), as few rolls as possible during the game (your unit shoots 30 shots? it now rolls only 5 dice and you multiply the successes by 6), and 10 overinflated codexes only, full of unified weapon profiles and unified unit profiles, including a few meant to represent converted units or units from hh stuff, cum gustoand also all scenarios have asymmetrical deployments, asymmetrical victory conditions, and asymmetrical rules for the attacker and defender
>>98510786I wanted to dip my toes in, so I got the cheapest troop box available which was pic related for $18. I might have never gotten into orks if there was a better deal.
>>98510786Box of Tactical Marines and an Army Painter set
>>98511074Take down ability to download core rules and increase codex price to $80. On the way out I sneak the Peter Jackson hobbit mini into my mouth and sell it on the black market for $180000000000000
Could knights get a kill team
>>98511074I don't want to spend a long time dreaming and coping, but I'd insert a "don't be retarded" clause about angles and line of sight, I'd bring back armour facings, change coherency to be 3 models to lessen stringing and expand the strength and toughness bands out to 20 and then actually use the full length of it.Oh, and all the codices drop at the same time and rules are free for the entire length of the edition with a MTO for updated core and codices at the end with gilt edges for a final "snapshot" of the edition.Oh and the norse stuff is mostly stripped from Votann because the Grimnyr is cringe and gay, and also the Kroot and Vespids are removed from T'au and turned into Codex:Minor Aliens along with Sslyth the other small model releases and melee battlesuits are made
>>98511074Remove firstborn all finally and throw them all into HH.Give all more factions internal variation.Make proper upgrade sprues for said different factions. For example Iron Hands and make an upgrade sprue that contains a massive amount of cybernetics.Make 1 book for marines, make the 9 first founding chapters into codex supplements that are released all at the same time as the main codex.Do the same for chaos marines, all in 1 book, but cult legions get their supplements
>>98511074throw out 100% of the scoring rules. go back to very simple score 1, score 2, score more, slay the warlord and first blood. thats it. holy hell the scoring and missions have become overcomplicated as fuck. also, i know the new terrain footprints are meant to solve a problem with vague cover, but they are ugly as fuck. jettison that too. no more footprints, instead just do a within X inches of the feature measurement, and make it close, like 1 or 2 inches tops. remove knights as an army. make knights and knight sized units like wraithknights and baneblades 1 per 1000pts. that includes armiger squads too. this limit also applies to flyers, though they share big fancy character shit that you would realistically never see more than 1 of in an army become 0-1 per army, like c'tanall weapons go down to 1 damage. full stop. wound count goes back down to something like what you see in the old world. really big shit has like 7 wounds tops. most infantry down to 1 wound, most vehicles around 3 or 4. bring back the psychic phase, casting rolls, and psychic power lores.
>>98511163*dont share that limit with knights. independent limits. idk why that got cut off lol
>>98510786The old 4th ed plastic guardians. Made a right pigs ear of them too.
>>98511163Your shits all retarded.
>>98511143>Remove firstborn all finally and throw them all into HH.Your bloodline is weak.
>>98511163>all weapons go down to 1 damage. full stop. wound count goes back down to something like what you see in the old world. really big shit has like 7 wounds tops. most infantry down to 1 wound, most vehicles around 3 or 4.This does not fucking work anymore. It barely worked in 4th and 5th but we saw that system fall to pieces in 6th and 7th. Even HH has multiple damage the scope is just scaled back so Lascannons are D2.
>>98511178Firstborn are for people who like getting fisted
>>98511131>the Kroot and Vespids are removed from T'au and turned into Codex:Minor AliensYou're a genuine mongoloid

>>98511186Primaris are for people who like boot polish on their uvula
>>98511163If you want to just play an old edition, that's very much allowed dude
>>98511163Most of this are sensible points. Only new fags, that never played a proper 40k edition, would disagree.
>>98511214Proper 40k is one where people stop playing 1/3 into it and start raping one another until a father is born.
>>98511163Pure dogshit ideas.
>>98511163>holy hell the scoring and missions have become overcomplicated as fuck.100% thisI got back into 40k with 10th and my first few games were against a dude that loved random secondary missions and I was just constantly checking the missions trying to figure out what the fuck is gonna score me the most points and got frustrated because I did NOT fucking bring a list for trying to do 5 things at onceThey want to shrimplify the game itself but load all the complexity into shit only tourneyfags care about
>>98511226Stop samefagging
>>98511209i dont want to play old editions, they're missing half the armies and units, armor facing and templates are annoying and a constant source of bickering and ummmm akschually pauses in the game, strategems have been great for the game even if they're occasionally broken. the new detachments and mixing and matching detachments are good. you can finally build all the shit on the plastic sprues you buy and give your infantry all the cool guns and sgt weapons without worrying about being points inefficient. there's plenty to like about modern warhammer. but the wound/damage arms race has gotten out of control (just look at the new ghaz, he's going to take like 60 damage worth of shots to actually kill for a foot character, and he's hardly the worst offender), the new terrain footprints are ugly and the scoring is way to complicated with buckets of seconary objectives and actions that change depending on who your facing and comparitive scoring matrices and score counts of nearing 100pts. just overcomplicates the game and removes the focus from the WAR aspect of WARhammer. aos has done this too with battle tactics making the game revolve around stupid minigames instead of the battle itself.
>>98511228>armor facing and templates are annoyingOpinion discarded
>>98511228Why are you pretending that Ghaz is equivalent to a commissar? "foot character" he's as big as a dreadnought and has dreadnought stats.
>>98511231>and has dreadnought stats.lol. no. he has the stats of a norn emissary. he's 2 wounds shy of a wraithknight.
>>98511234sorry. has dreadnought stats if the dreadnought was blessed by gork and mork*

>>98511278>guardThis dude is literally just a guardsman in fancy armor.
>>98511391Just make them into an offshoot of berzerkers that worship both Khorne and Nurgle.
>>98511404>>98511411Ideally knight serfs would be different enough from guardsmen in both looks and equipment. simpler guns instead of imperial guard-issued lasguns, and focusing on close combat to storm buildings knights can't enter and antitank support for their knights' opponents.
>>98511227take your medication
>>98511400Your mistake is thinking the only reason to like those mechanics is nostalgia and not because they add depth and variety to the game.
>>98511420at that point, why not just make a regiment of guard that is medieval themed which you can then soup into knights? makes it so you can be a guardfag with “cities of the imperium”, or you can make /yourdudes/ knight serfs.

>>98511431because guard has enough shit and the moment you suggest making this stuff regiment instead of a knights' specific thing it's the moment you lose on any and all peculiar elements such as differences in equipment or in their specialists in the name of becoming standardized in the same way all other regiments aremeanwhile if you make a kill team for knight serf specifically you can get actually unique shit, AND you get the bits to convert your medieval themed guard conversions without having to pray gw for cross compatibility that they simply don't want to implement, not to mention how any inclusion of a regiment ends up spawning faggots asking for 6+ redundant kits for infantry, stormtroopers, command squad, heavy weapon squads, whatever else and heroesa knights kill team is better

>>98511074I make it so the only factions are space marines and orkz only, just make it so the rest of the factions fucked off in one way or died or became space marines (all admech are now firstborn scout-sized techmarines, imperial guard regiments are all space marines now, SoB's died because geneseed don't like women). Chaos Marines are now renegades cause chaos gods are gay and dead so all traitor legions no longer serve the chaos gods and go back to their great crusade-era colors
>>98511631Well thats pretty darn boring
>>9851140811th is kinda better
>>98511266Kill team is fun you should give it a try
>>98511074The game takes one big step right back into TTRPG territory. Competitive types get the same slop they've already been served to act as a containment zone. 1000 point games will no longer take 5 hours to work out.Realistically, you'll probably just get far more powercreep, tons of needless complexity that doesn't serve the game whatsoever, and models that you'll either really love or really hate - no inbetween.
>>98511266Don't, it's not worth it. Easily the worst specialist game in the current GW's range in second worst iteration of Kill Team in general. Literally the worst FOMO corposlop nightmare manifested.
I know its slop and it can definitely be better, but this was still fun to make.
>>98511659Whats so bad about it?
>>98511659I like the models and the game feels mostly solid but I can see where you're coming from. The powercreep is getting a little obscene to the point where it just isn't fun or engaging to play certain teams, especially with certain matchups.
>>98509682Try to tell them apart
>>98511655What do you mean by step back into ttrpg territory?Like what specifically would you do for that?
>>98511668NTA but while I do play it occassionally since it's the only thing I can get friends to play, it's way too strict. Static lists with static gear, no customization, not any real frame for narrative games. Necromunda is the same kind of skirmish game but better in basically every single way, but it requires a lot more terrain (the saving grace of KT is that starter sets come with a full board) and GW refuses to transalate the rules so I can't get anyone to play with me.
>>98511669Yeah theyve been stupid with the balance recently but balanced matches are fun
>>98511394What I'd want from CSM is effectively just renegade marines.I'm not sold on the skulls and spikes and rot and decay (and the annoying-to-paint trim and ornamentation) all over my shit, but "space marines who've had enough of the Imperium's bullshit and decided to strike out on their own as bandits/pirates/Chinese-style-warlords" does appeal to me, even if it's dumb "in lore." Corsairs just seemed like the most obvious of the CSM flavor options as a starting point for what I'm after.
>>98511668Awful powercreep with every release, releases designed to be FOMO baits that lock new Teams behind limited-edition boxes, most awful LoS and cover rules I have seen in any skirmish game, no list building causing ebery game to be a carbon copy of any other game played with the same teams, pandering to competitive players while having terribly designed rules that cause a lot of rules-lawyering, arguing at the table and simply feel-bad moments.
>>98511677TTRPG is probably not the best way of putting it, but I really liked how older rules allowed models to interact with the table and vice-versa. Yeah, that basically boils down to templates, scatter dice, facings, and such. However, there's also stuff like say, the chimera being amphibious because that's how it was designed in-lore, or how the avatar was immune to flame/melta weapons because he's pretty much living magma. I love that sort of stuff because it feels more like a simulation as opposed to what the game feels like right now where none of that shit really matters -- it feels arcadey and board-gamey.
>>98511677Not him but I want to go back to the old unit formatting. I hate the AoS style card. I hate how weapons are now card specific instead of modular. I hate that they've removed simulationist mechanics like AVs from vehicles or wrecks or template weapons. I hate that they've removed the armoury for characters. I hate that they've removed psychic disciplines and warlord traits. I hate that morale is almost nonexistant when it used to be a big part of the game.
https://youtu.be/QS9g-K4qCVA?t=84Newcrons (post-2011) are mostly gay but this line is cool. Arrogant, eternal, the younger races aren't more than an annoying blip messing with their stuff.
>>98511680There are some options but I could understand wanting more
Are Black Templar players the "chuds" or are the Kriegers the "chuds"?
>>98511685The LoS and cover rules arent that bad are they?I thought LoS was literally just a laser from your models head to your opponents models, like that seems pretty simple
>>98511245This would be kino as fuck and would save GW money because they'd only have to make about 16 models with two upgrade sprues- one with spikes and one without spikes. Saving them money, and allowing them to charge you a low low price of 175 dollars. But I think it's a mistake to assume GW would put terrain in a non-"big yearly" box, instead they'll include a helpful online pdf about buying a knight and using it for terrain+the basis of a knights army.Similar to how the Exodite Waystones are mentioned in pretty much every one of their 21 missions in the dossier but they tell you "lol, go make them yourself or something idk" and then shill you more beast snaggas like the beast snagga boss to "up the difficulty with more npos" or the Orc watchtower from age of sigmar.
>>98511701NTA but as far as I recall, you have to be able to draw a line from your model's base to both sides of an opposing model's base to be considered in full LoS without cover/obscuring. The base is the only thing that matters as far as I've been told.
>>98511686Yeah that makes sense
>>98511701>The LoS and cover rules arent that bad are they? They are weird at first and are worded confusingly but once you understand them they are pretty straightforward. Funnily enough when KT2021 came out someone made a video explaining it using Gears of War covers and it clicked instantly.https://www.youtube.com/shorts/NVrEYFtZE9c
>>98511691When people even say "newcrons" what are they even saying? The necrons have been space egyptians for a long while now. The only time that they weren't were probably with the early days of Rogue trader right?
>>98511431Because people want bondsmen who are men at arms in spaceWhy do people come to the 40k thread and go "ummm sweaty you can just hobby yourself some bretonnians+guardsmen" because I want to buy a box made specifically for that purpose. Not spend 40 dollars on Etsy 3d prints, not buy a printer and make my own, not buy bits and kitbash my own. I want a team specifically for my interest that is made similar to the art instead of a crude approximation with whatever is on hand.
>>98511707Yeah, also things like the models having characteristics that play into certain things. Even vehicle crews are typically statted to the baseline of the faction they belong to like space marine vehicles having space marine LD values. I feel like that can make other factions easier to understand too because you know what to expect versus modern 40k where stats can vary wildly between units that look very similar.
IF they release nobz as a kill team, doesn't that mean kill team players and 40k players are going to have to fight over the supply of nobz? I think kill team should definitely have its own models but those models shouldn't necessarily be must haves in 40k. Because the people playing the smaller game(kill team in this case) get absolutely fucked supply wise.
>>98511705I dont think thats accurateI think you pick a point on your model and draw a line to the opposing modelIf you can see them they are in LoSBut if there is intervening terrain it counts as cover/obscuring depending
>>98511456>meanwhile if you make a kill team for knight serf specifically you can get actually unique shit, AND you get the bits to convert your medieval themed guard conversions without having to pray gw for cross compatibility that they simply don't want to implement, not to mention how any inclusion of a regiment ends up spawning faggots asking for 6+ redundant kits for infantry, stormtroopers, command squad, heavy weapon squads, whatever else and heroesGW should really just bite the bullet and dump out a dozen upgrade sprues like they have for csm and sm, it's really "not a whole lot" to make the guardfags stop and eventually you'll grind them down so the only people left wanting are fans of -super niche regiment mentioned here of guys with vaguely aztec names in 2nd edition that never got art of models- and then you've finally quashed the guardoid rebellion.
>>98511720I think you just explained it way better than me, but I was imagining the same thing in my head. Yeah, you can pick the point on your model to determine LoS.
>>98511701I will never not find pic related funny. I'm so happy that an anon posted it here a few months ago. Now whenever I'm about to fold and join the local cut-throat Kill Team golems, I simply look at this picture and remind myself why I'm better with playing SW:A and OPR with friends. KT21 being an absolute disaster of a game helps as well.
>>98511720I think thats what anon said he just worded it differently
>>98511289The knights are misnomered, knights are literally lords and dukes and kings of feudal worlds and logically they should have serfs with power maces going out and getting blown up by enemy mines to make room for their lord to safely dunk on the enemy.
>>98511721Hell so many factions should get this. I want skitarii to have alternate weapon arms, heads, backpacks, and other baubles. Sure I can mix-and-match parts which is great but I still want it. Where'ss my dome headed mad scientist freaks?
>>98511721To do that they would have had to design the kits with upgrades in mind which they didn't.
>>98511729>>98511732Ah mb lol
>>98511714Not the guy you responded to. However, I get what you want but honestly, GW isn't going to print shit like this because its super niche. For example, I want THICKER necrons. A box of regular necron infantry like immortals costs similar to a box regular space marine infantry but space marines have something like 20-25 percent more plastic in / on their models. Necrons are anorexic and emaciated models and its fucking ass to put some of them together because of that. I want plastic parity but GW will never do that. You and I are in the same boat. Both want niche things that GW will never do .
>>98511731Picture perfect example to counter the idea that templates, facings, and scatter dice are too complicated.
>>98511711>for a whileYesSince 2011>image of pseudo-egyptian guy from 1994The thing is that the chaos androids and 1990s stuff is completely different when necrons were white dwarf supplements of mysterious robots attacking imperial installations, they had limited lore and were just a mysterious bad guy.The explicit dynasties and shit is 2011.Unless you want to say 'crons are tomb kigs if they lost to nagash and were enslaved as mindless dead.
>>98511717>kill team players and 40k players are going to have to fight over the supply of nobz.the 12 people who actually play kill team must be really heart broken to hear that.
>>98511731damn! if only that massive 32mm base wasn’t in the way, the ork would be able to walk up and shoot the beakie!
>>98511748kill team is actually the superior game. Playing full scale 40k always seemed retarded to me. So not only do you have to paint all these models, you need to store all these models, TRANSPORT all these models, and keep track of all these models etc. Full scale just doesn't seem worth it for the fun generated. Kill team lets you get really granular with your models too. Full scale 40k just seems like ass by comparison. It sounds like the ruleset in 40k is considered to be dog shit too. Am I wrong?
>>98511731Its not really that hard to understand redditors are just retardedI also have always thought it was weird when stupid shit like this happens that people cant just make up and agree on something reasonable up instead of scrolling through a book for 20 minutes looking for an official solution
>>98511683desu you could get real autistic and buy cheaper HH models that are lacking the eagles or the chaos baubles and call them your renegades with Mk3 armour that have been pirating the edges of the imperium/alien space for thousands of years.
>>98511770I think it is because both players don't want to seem like they are trying to cheat the other. This is easier to do with friends but if its two randos playing against each other, I can see how taking whatever the book says could probably be best.
>>98511733>serfs with power maces going out and getting blown up by enemy mines to make room for their lord to safely dunk on the enemy.when you put it like that, its pretty much just the same thing for orks when a mekboss with a big stompa sends grots out to “clear” minefields
>>98511779These games are meant to be played with friends imhoPlaying with randoms sounds like it has serious potential to be extremely fucking miserableYou’re just rolling the dice on whether or not you get to deal with a huge faggot for hours
>>98511736Just gaslight them into thinking they're not HOBBYING enough and shame them for being sloppers if they don't want to cut bits here and there and glue other stuff on to make it work and wallah.
>>98511744Who the fuck thinks that? "Put plate on top of target, roll scatter, oh its 1" to the left."I miss my flamer templates
>>98511763Every edition of 40k has had its flaws10th was miserable so it caught alot of shit11th is a small step in the right directionI like both personallyKT is definitely shorter and it sounds like its probably the better of the two for what you’re after
>>98511741>GW isn't going to print shit like this because its super nicheI believe GW in the future will specifically make Bondsmen because knights as an army 'don't work' just as superheavies. It's like how Titanicus as an army would only work if you also included the Secutarii infantry that serve under the princeps. Superheavy focused armies are cool but lacking infantry gimps them.
>>98511717>>98511748Nobs should have been the other team in the Exodite box anyway GW is faggots for doing this NPO shit.
>>98511731We’re pretending 40k doesn’t have shitloads of rules lawyering now? This is baby shit by comparison
>>98511790I've had people argue and bitch until they were blue in the face over whether his guy is under a template or not. I miss them too, but people can be ridiculous like that. They just aren't worth placing with. Also had people who would position their guys from deepstrike in such a way where they avoid mishap even though it was blatantly against the rules. Ever seen a grown man throw an actual tantrum in the middle of a store with customers all over?
>>98511803No lol thats a level of cringe I hope to someday experience though
>>98511794>KT is definitely shorterThe games can be longer than a 40k game in my experience.
>>98511806Here's a taste of it:>Tau player deepstrikes his drones>Central model is right on the corner of my basilisk>Rules say you have to make a circle around them and if they can't, it's a mishap>Makes a pacman shape around my basilisk>Tell him he can't do that>Starts yelling and stomping his feet, hands balled up into fists, saying that I'm a 'cheating snake'>Picks up his models and just hangs around the store loudly complaining to other players that I'm a cheaterSame guy also lost too many times with his old, metal SoB army so he opened his giant tupperware container one day and said 'take whatever you want I'm done with them'. Got my karskin back.
>>98511810A KT game where both players don't know their rules well can take longer than a 40k game where both players do, yes. But let's not pretend people can't stretch a 40k game out to like 5+ hours when they're shooting the shit or still learning
>>98511810Both can be long or short depending on the expertise of both playersKT is generally quicker thoughSometimes both sides only have 5-6 models to deal withTwo people playing horde teams taking slow turns can take a long time though
>>98509555Obviously the black templars. They're like 40k itself distilled to it's purest representation in faction form.
>>98511816Lmfao nice
>>98509779the knights are cool but it's kinda lame how the whole army had like 5 units of which you're only allowed to use 3. i understand the practical reasons but that sucks, and no, having a bigger army of smaller models doesn't make up for it
space wolf terminator heads would be very good bits for white scar terminators
>>98511833nothing space wolf related is really good for anything tbqh
>>98509921how come they don't emphasize that aspect instead of how hairy their men are and how many dogs they touch?
>>98510786This was mine, remember when the combat patrol equivalent still cost less than a hundred bucks?
>>98511778>cheaper HH modelsAre they? Every HH model I see is $20-30 more expensive than it's 40k counterpart, both from GW and third party retailers.Running HH models would let me have all beak helmets on /mydudes/ at the very least, it's a tempting thought.>>98511803I lost a friend to this recently>me playing SoB, him playing Salamanders in a "casual" game at my houseBy "casual" I mean "I brought units I had already, and he went out and bought a tourney-winning roster he copied off of reddit to 'see how it plays.'">tries to deepstrike his assault terminators into a tiny triangular spot in my backline where my units have moved forward>I point out that he can't fit his whole squad (with math on the area of the triangle), he ignores me and INSISTS he can make them fit>spends 5 minutes trying to fit them after that, catch him nudging one of my models when I'm coming back from the bathroom from the wait>say "okay, if you're going to cheat, I'm not going to play against you" and he leaves in a huff shortly after>calls me a narcissist in a text message the next dayI haven't heard from him since.

>>98510658i'm no loreior by any stretch, but my perception is the raven guard are generally as cooperative with their successors as they are any other chapter. perhaps it's because heir stocks offset the somewhat historically low raven guard numbers, perhaps it's their tendency towards independent tactics and strategic flexibility, but they treat most chapters as worthy allies as long as they are loyal, codex compliant or no
>>98511857In my case the guy opened his container to the whole store and all the 40k players just descended like vultures and picked it clean, not even a single cherub was left behind.

>>98511902>>98511922I missed that when I first saw them, you get 20 dudes for $90 instead of 10 for $60, and that's GW's official prices. >>98511971The other HH heavy weapon set has autocannons and lascannons, which are very useful for Legionaries and Havoc marines.I'd be buying piecemeal from ebay for those though, fuck giving GW $50 for 1/3 of a box to have weapon options

just give shit less weapons, there are too many with 3+ shooting profiles that are resolving separatly (or you could use differently colored dice but its wonky when splitfiring). Holy shit were imperial agent armies always this expensive?
>>98512170Then yeah its not surprising at allYou’re still familiarizing yourself with the rules and shit so each step takes longer since you have to think alot more or possibly stop to check rules and stuffAs time goes on stuff will become alot more automatic and you can start slowly adding in strategems and shit as you feel more comfortable

I think people would actually like ultramarines a lot if they were less used as posterboys and just as another chapter.

>>98512007>guard get autocannons in HWS and on a bunch of vehicles (Hippogriff, Taurox, Sentinels, etc)>loyalist marines don't use them for some reasonJames and his infinite wisdom"Gun but big" is cool, make more of these
>>98512271No space on devastator sprue so now the option is gone forever.
>>98512258People also like ultramarines a lot despite them being overrepresented.Blue and gold is a good scheme.Even though I believe crimson fists are better posterboys.
>>98512275If there was space in the havocs sprue there could be in the devastator sprue. But they are killing devastators anyways.

>>98512290Lol nice
>>98512258In the grand scheme of things, Ultramarines are the most bland of the "Big" marine chapters in terms of theming and aesthetics>Blood Angels - Sanguinary Guard and stuff for being gaudy vampires, Death Company for being edgy vampires>Dark Angels - Arthurian knight aesthetic with robes and shit>Black Templars - Similar knight aesthetic but taken down the Crusader path >Space Wolves - wolf pelts and dog knots and wolf shit all over>Grey Knights - another "knight" themed group but with actual knight armor theming>Salamanders - Marines but flamers and black>White Scars - Marines but bikes and asian>Raven Guard - Marines but sneaky and emo>Imperial Fists - Marines but tanky and autistic>Iron Hands - Marines but machine and blandEven Crimson Fists do a better job at being blue marines than Ultramarines. The only thing Ultras have going for them is the greco-roman aesthetic, and that's only recently become a prominent thing with them as they've gotten more faction specific models.
How is everyone’s collage submissions coming along?
>>98512284Devastators have grav cannons, multi meltas, and plasma cannons, which havocs don't have. They also have more sergeant options on the sprue. It's actually surprising how much space is wasted on the havoc sprue. They have less weapon options despite having the chainguns and auto cannons.
>>98512236is that not just a horus heresy vindicator? or maybe gladiator lancer equivalent? pretty sure it's smaller than an impulsor let alone a repulsor and doesn't have transport capacity.it's an okay looking tank, though.
>>98512311Pretty good anonIf I wasn’t allowed onto the collage for whatever reason like being a fucked up freak or something I would be pretty upset about itThank goodness thats not the case haha
>>98512317Nah vindicators exist as is in 30k, though there's the laser destroyer variant which is cool. Sicarans are a battle tank chassis that sits between the rhino and land raider chassis. They carry bigger weapons though a lot more limited. They are more expensive but faster though have no transport capacity.
>marine players complaining that they have too many guns and it takes too long to roll them all, meanwhile many faction's main shooty tank like the fire prism and the castigator have one gun with only a couple shots and would be estatic to have something like the primaris tanks>the other day a marine player said "it's not actually that many" when someone asked why marines have 23 detachments plus the codex supplement ones>marines players bitch about primaris vs firstborn when there are some factions that waited patiently for their first and only refresh sometimes up to a decadeLet's have a little perspective
>>98512314>They also have more sergeant options on the sprue.Don't really get why they have so much shit for the sergeant that you'll never use. The sergeants should just get another heavy weapon like in 30k.
>>98512339>and would be estatic to have something like the primaris tanksWould they? All the random guns on repulsors are pretty worthless. I'd gladly take a small points discount in exchange for losing those shots.
>>98512311I'm probably gonna get around to priming today if nothing else pops up.

>>98512343Dude it's nuts I was comparing the kit out of curiosity, the sergeant gets 3 kinds of pistols, storm bolter, regular bolter, all types of combi-bolter, all possible melee weapons (all 6 of em) and the option for a pointing bionic arm. Oh and devastators not only have more heavy weapon options, but a cherub. The havoc kit is honestly insanely mogged by this ancient fucking kit. Look how much space is here, and then go look at how clustered the devastators are.
>>98512357It is pretty dumb. At thsi point I think this kinda unit should just get 2 kits with the weapons split between them so that each kit can build a squad with a full loadout. Wouldn't really change much for GW if they are smart with the sprues as the body sprue could be the same in both and the weapon sprues duplicated for a total of just 3 sprues.
>>98511497I wanted to make it look like an enlarged Astartes head because despite being TS I'm not big on the bird head daemon prince look. So I took the normal demon head that had a helmet, carved it up, added a grill from an armiger for the front helmet vent, and then just added some TS back pieces to decorate the helmet. I added the wavy sorcerer tassels, the sorcerer chest piece to the center, and changed his axe to a staff.>>98511841They make good scenery for my bases.
>>98512339Anon I am completely serious when I say that I'd rather marines get ignored for 2 decades than getting primaris.
I hope Sisters get a new tank or something this edition.

>>98512377why?
>>98512383Castigator is boring.
>>98512339Sisters have exactly 1 of each>actual tank (with 2 main gun options, neither are good against other vehicles)>transport (it's just a rhino)>artillery vehicle (it has very little range so it doesn't get much out of indirect fire)>transport/tank hybrid (actually really good and has a unique rule that counters its half capacity limitation)Expanding the SoB roster (more anti-tank options especially) would greatly help the faction, but then it'd open up to being "SMs but women" or "guard but overtly religious" for complaints, so I don't know how it could reasonably be done to still retain the faction identity.>>98512366Anon, the Leman Russ comes with 2 top half sprues in the same box because they combined the two old kits into one. You're left over with 1/2 a tank every time you buy one, and your only way to fix that is to buy a duplicate of the track sprue from ebay or printing the equivalent of that.GW would rather you buy 2 of the bigger box than sell 2 smaller boxes of what you actually want.>>98512377Something like a HH Cerberus would do wonders for Sisters. Replace the HH unique weapon with a bespoke anti-armor gun (or just duplicate the one from the Gladiator Lancer for it) and boom you're done.
>>98512393But the leman russ comes with every single option. The issue with havocs/devastators/retributors is that they only come with 2 of each gun because they can't fit all of them. If they split the weapons into two sprues there's space for another 2 of every gun.
>>98512311Out of town for a few days, but I got a good chunk of it done before I left.

Why can't they make drop pods viable? They updated the kit and still nobody will buy it because the rules haven't been good in over a decade.
>>98512290Lol based grudge keeper.
>>98512396The point wasn't to say it already has the options, it was to show the wasted potential. GW doesn't care about wasted potential on their current kits, they want you to buy another one.>>98512402If SoB get access to the Land Raider it is genuinely over for me playing anything but SistersI love the Land Raider, it gives you everything you could want for a vehicle.
>>98512408The difference is that both GK and DE will get huge quality refreshes and white scars are still never gonna get anything.
>>98512402>but it seems like the plan is to expand the marine car park with the old stuff once againI think that's the only reasonable way they have left to expand marines with new releases at this point besides random character models in different armor marks. >>98512417>, they want you to buy another one. They also generally want the kits to be usable out of the box, often to the detriment of the rules.
>>98512290Lmao, based
>>98512419They could release a fucking tactical squad already.
>>98512424Don't complain about devastators not letting you take 4 of the same gun out of the box or else they'll remember devastators exist and just limit you to taking 2 of each in the squad.
>>98512433They aren't gonna limit devastators, they are gonna delete them with the codex, replaced with retarded gravis "equivalents". I've lost all hope already.
>>98512424>usable out of the box, often to the detriment of the rulesYea...Regular Battle Sisters can bring a multi-melta, there isn't one in the box at all. You can make one by taking the heavy flamer, chopping off its barrels, cutting barrels off of 2 of the meltas in the box (it can be built into Dominions instead who can bring 4 special weapons and no heavy), and attaching those melta barrels to the heavy flamer. Or you cannibalize a Retributor squad box for it.
My wishlist:1. Bikes. You can make them churchy and ostentatious to fit the aesthetic, and they would fill a gap in the sob roaster which is a non-vehicle non-jump infantry that moves fast.2. A weapon, anywhere on anything, that is higher than s10. The castigator main cannon is s10 and the penitent buzzsaw is melee s10. That's it. Everything else is s8 melta with 12 or 18 inch range. Just give the book anything higher than s10. Make a living saint that shoots a fire bolt, make a third castigator main weapon option that is a "melta lance" or something silly that fits in the theme of no lascannons. Lots of people don't get how bad it feels to live in a world of vehicle skew armies and literally not even be able to field s11 or above, and if you want s10 there's only 1 ranged option.3. More detachments. It's wild looking at marine's 23 options when sob have literally one option for Purge and it's penitent which requires specific models not everyone collects, or only one option for Recon and it's a 1dp one that only cares about certain units, etc. Several factions are hurting for detachment options and it's totally unnecessary, they can just write more at any time if they want.4. A way to get more Leadership 5. It's crazy that every single generic chaplain comes with LD5 by default, while the deeply fanatical zealot army who WANT to die in battle can't field LD5 at all without taking the Orators detachment combined with specifically some named characters and dogmatas. It's crazy that Canoness and Palanrines are LD7 and even Vahl is 6. Meanwhile marines can just slap any generic chaplain in a unit for ld5, who is of course t4 with a good weapon and other special rules on top of that, for a similar cost too lmao or cheaper than the characters.5. Vahl isn't mandatory anymore. No codex should have this kind of situation where there's only one actually good unit and you see it in almost 100% of lists, it's just lame. Make Freye or someone else as good so you choose
>>98512418I know that. I've been in this hobby long enough to recognize the patterns and I'm generally content with the models I do have (most of my gripes are with rules and legends units). It's just silly to pretend like every new marine release isn't something usable for his army just because he likes the bike aspect of white scars. Like he has brand new van vets and a speeder he just painted up. The choice to treat white scars as being all about bikes is purely his prerogative, but that doesn't mean that's ALL his faction is. It would be like me complaining DE never get anything from GW because they updated the whole Kabal range and I like to play Covens.
>>98512412the fundamental problem is it's a big model that does something a bunch of units can already do for free. first turn deep strike isn't that useful given how cramped boards are, and infiltrators exist. terminators, jump intercessors and reivers can all deep strike for free, and the latter doesn't cost much more than a pod. even the drop pod detachment ended up making them less useful as it let you apply deep strike to literally anything. bonuses to disembarking a pod would have to be huge to matter at all.
>>98512412alpha strikes make the game unfunthe more viable drop pods get the more people spam them, and the more that happens the more people whine about the price of having to get multiple of them for their entire army to stay in the metaone solution would be to make their point cost rise exponentially the more people want to use them, but at that point you might as well put a hard cap of 2 pods per a certain amount of points, but then people would whine about the fact that their dream of a marine army fully deployed via pods isn't availableeven though alpha strikes are unfun and they don't want to pay for that many drop podsthe solution is making one specific detachment that gives you 2 pods for free per 1k points, and the rest of the army is "deployed via drop pods", but only on paper, while in practice they deploy from any battlefield edge, since tables are so small now
>>98512442>Nothing higher than s10You forgot the paragon war maces that are s12. That's your one single allowed s10+ option.
>>98512420Are you saying that greater demons of khorne are dragons?
>>98512447>ut then people would whine about the fact that their dream of a marine army fully deployed via pods isn't availableIT hasn't been since 8th because the rules don't let you put more than half of your army in reserves. I just want to be able to use more than 1 and right now even 1 is trolling.
>>98512433Every day I hope and pray that GW never remembers Scourges only come with one of each heavy weapon in their box. Dark Lance Scourges are the only thing propping up my army.
So ADmech/knights might not get their codex until 2028 huh. I wonder what that bodes for the rest of factions without an 11th edition codex. I wonder if they'll make 11th longer than 3 years as well. Would be interesting.

>>98512472Where's the AdMech/Knights codex together thing coming from? Is it just because the leaked Sprue looks like AdMech weapons for some kind of Knight of the Cog thing?
>>98512473I miss my eliminator special bullet rules.
>>98512484I fucking hate how common it's becoming to merge weapons. They are stripping the identity from every single gun.
>>98512488I think the 3-year cycle is necessary because they run into production bottlenecks unless they highlight and focus on a single faction every couple of months and push sales heavily around that set of items. It makes fans of each faction save their money for one big blowout spending session every 3 years and increases codex and model sales together because when people buy one they usually buy the other.
>>98512488I'm pretty sure 3 year cycles are no longer possible now that they've added 30k and TOW to the mainline game rotation.
We miss all these things but the old edition still exist and you can still play them. So /40kg/ what's YOUR favorite edition? Why is it the best?

>>98512493>>98512510>>98512513My schizo theory is that eliminators were intentionally fucked over to sell the scout killteam set.
The eliminators is what I bought first since I thought sniper rifles are cool
>>98512543People will say that GW does not use rules to sell models and while I don't think they do it on purpose nearly as often as people attribute to them, they definitely have in the past and we have some confirmed examples. Like when the rules designers were told to leave the wraithknight as a monster instead of a vehicle on release because it would sell better that way. It's also probably not a coincidence that every 500 worlds/Maelstrom/etc release had crazy pushed rules that fucked the balance of 10th for each new model drop, though most of those got patched quickly.
>>98512543Scouts should have 1 wound and no free teleport back to reserves ability.
So after basic Space Marines all go to T5, what all weapons in your army are going to need to get their stats inflated to keep up?
>>98512563My reasoning is that the special round rules essentially gave you a a three man scout team that could do most of what normal scouts did while being WAY more survivable (and easier to assemble and paint). So someone at GW said "fuck these guys, we have new $90 scout models to sell.
>>98512108Looks good, Typhus was one of the first models I got so I just glued him to the base bare I always wish I put more effort into him cause now he looks just normal compared to my other models

>>98512577This is not happening, why force the meme?
Yuri can overcome.
>>98512475>Vindicator with flamer/melta sponsonsI'll take it but it's more anti-chaff than anti-vehicle, which is already what the entire rest of the SoB roster does.Sisters need an actual anti-tank option, preferably one that's ranged. Melta spam on dominions/retributors doesn't cut it, Morvenn and paragon suits should NOT be the only real option. >>98512734It feels like it shouldn't because it's a siege cannon, but looking at it again yea it has great anti-vehicle stats.Still only 2 feet of range though. I get that SoB want to be up close for flamers and meltas and melee, but having a specific long range "kill that thing NOW" unit would be nice as well to go alongside the Castigator. Some of that desire is me wanting to default to my guard-playing ways of camping distance, of course.I guess giving them the Vindicator would probably solve a lot of this anti-vehicle issue, assuming it doesn't just become everyone's new "kill that first" target like Morvenn currently is. That would then be solved by giving more than 1 option, so we'd be back to the drawing board ad infinitum on "but what ifs."

You've got to understand that the imperium does not control the galaxy by controlling every single planet in it, or even the majority of the planets in it, or even every planet within a specific border; their planets are dots in a sea, connected by stable warp routes that make logistics feasible and allow for such planets to call for reinforcements and extend their military power lightyears away to squash threats.ork areas are likely not fully populated by orks, but orks don't have similar pressures as the imperium to keep a galxy-wide empire up and running, so their spread can be less focused on efficiency and more focused on just grabbing as much as they can regardless of logistics or whether it's practical or needed.

Explain to an outsider why IG guardsmen squads matter, crunchwise (if at all).S3 AP0 lasguns look so weak against T4 3+ saves, even if you do have several squads' worth of them. 36 shots to kill a single marine!I know SM are the protagonists and IG are the damsel in distress that gets saved by marines...but are guardsmen squads really just objective capturers for Russ squadrons?
>>98513055That's what I said in >>98512779The Vindicator would fit with the "traditional" SoB playstyle as-is, but then that leaves the Castigator out to dry as the ONLY unit that can even be considered long range, and then why even include it in the list? Just to take advantage of Rapid Fire 4 on the autocannons at the same distance as a Vindicator? For the Castigator to have a place, Sisters need a longer range vehicle besides it. If the Vindicator were to be dropped in, it'd just replace the Castigator. Ideally, both would have a place.>inb4 ExorcistIt has a range of 36 inches for its indirect fire missiles. I wouldn't call that "long range," because it's 1 foot inside of either of the Castigator main guns' range. The Castigator is out of place with or without the addition of the Vindicator, my point is trying to both strengthen the SoB roster (in quality and quantity) and make it more coherent.

>>98513164The layouts provide quick reference to have somewhat balanced boards. If you're a new player you don't have the experience to do this on your own so following the layouts will help. If you're an experienced player you'll have a feel for how much terrain you need and how to scatter it so the game is balanced. They are not mandatory but they help.

>>98513211Even if they remake it it's not gonna be any bigger simply for gameplay purposes.
>>98513238Actually they both hold 12 now. Land raiders just also can have terminators.
>>98513183Fair enough, I didn't really consider Rites when I was thinking about it.Still kind of sucks to spend 165 points on a vehicle that doesn't really mesh with the rest of your army JUST for an AP-1 buff to every subsequent attack to whatever it hit. There are a good few units in other armies that do much more than that at comparable and lower point costs (Leman Russ Vanquisher, Rogal Dorn, Gladiator Lancer, Predator variants that are the same model as the Castigator but have better guns) that nearly always mesh well into their rosters.
>>98513255Which faction is the chuddiest
>>98513211>The idea of 5, let alone 10 marines fitting into that thing is crazy to mePretty much all vehicles on the tabletop are sized down purely for gameplay purposes.Rhinos in reality are much larger than people think they are, but GW doesn't make full size ones because the larger model would cost more, but also lot of GW stuff is due to the amount of sprues, larger kit requires more sprues/larger sprues, and larger sprues/more sprues you have, bigger the box needs to be, larger box less you can fit them on a pallet and less of them you can fit inside a container. Also making model that'd proportionally accurate would also make the game more cumbersome, the game boards are already pretty small, you don't want to make the problem worse by making the models larger which eats up more board space
>>98513263Also when it comes to vehicles, sisters don't need the ap they need strength. AP is irrelevant when you're shooting your only other anti tank option (meltas) so it's basically just to stack buffs with multiple castigators and maybe exorcists.
>>98513255What data sheet needs the biggest glow up with your next codex?
>>98513262Still insane for 12 marines to fit in a rhino and it having the same capacity as a LR.
>>98513245My question was less about the layouts and more about the specific sizes of the footprints in 11th.
>>98513283Also not terribly mandatory but they provide enough variety in size, shape and type between light and heavy terrain.
>>98513164As long as you keep terrain that blocks line of sight symmetrical and not advantaging one player over the other it doesn't matter and GW's rules say just do whatever. The terrain on the official layouts is just for the set that comes in the intro set, it's not the only permitted stuff.Having terrain features larger than the footprints is fine, although ideally you wouldn't remove too much of the standing area for models to contest the quite large objective areas.

>>98513281The extra size in the land raider is armour and guns.
>>98513274>Rhinos in realityLore is not real. Only plastic is real.
>>98513275Rites doesn't stack with itself afaik, and the Exorcist has s10ap-3 rockets, so it's not benefiting from Rites either.
>>98513238I miss my landraider. I need to make something with my dark angels to give me a reason to buy one.>>98513260>>98513274Very true. I understand the gameplay reason but it's still awkward to see.
>>98513260It's smaller than existing 7 man transports let alone the 12s, it's small because it's old not because gameplay requires it to be.
>>98511264>>98511196These responses tell me I'm 100% right
